The best part about this thread is that the word "first" is included in it.  While Paraguay, Brazil, & Mexico all are likely to see some sort of bill put together involving Bitcoin it looks like next up for full adoption may be Panama.  I don't have any inside information or anything like that, but from what I've read it appears that Panama may see adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender before the end of the year.  I can only imagine things may accelerate from there, especially if adoption by these counties is showing a positive effect on their population.

These days I wouldn't classify myself as a gambler.  I did hear a phrase the other day I liked that went something like...  When two men have a disagreement the next word should be 'bet'.  Not a bad way to operate.  

If I were to try and classify my status as a gambler, I would say that I am but a man who enjoys the added happiness that comes with exclaiming, "give me my money!" after a sporting event.

I wonder if somewhere there's a gambling addict who has been jabbed a couple dozen times with fake identification information in the hopes they win this lottery?  I'd like to think no, but we all know it's probably happened.  I'm a bit shocked that governments are resorting to what amounts to preying on those with mental health problems and those who are bad at math in order to entice people to do what they want.  Makes you wonder why they think bribing people for wanted behavior is acceptable and where they got that idea from.

I believe it's 13 playoff losses straight now after game 6 and an overall playoff record of 2-16.  Sad for sure and hard to discount.  You could maybe say that Scott Foster calls fouls in a way that hurts CP3, but something is definitely up there.  The only way to justify the statistic and not think Scott Foster should be fired is if he's doing it on their behalf, which is where all the conspiracy theories come from.  I haven't heard Chris Paul comment on it at all, but I suspect it will be in his documentary once he retires.  

I saw people discussing this on Twitter but nobody said their positions were liquidated based on that price either, so it doesn't seem like there was any wrongdoing.  If there was evidence of users having their positions liquidated as a result of that inflated price then you would have reason for complaint.  As of now I would guess that maybe they have a secondary dark market for whales based on different liquidation rules, or it was some sort of derivative that was triggered.  A simple bug shouldn't be overlooked either though.

More seriously addressing your question, we are all satoshi, and we owe it to ourselves to continue to try and change the world for the better even if it is inconvenient or may not benefit us as much as alternatives.  Remember that satoshi didn't create Bitcoin to get rich.  He knew his time was running out.  He wanted to change the world for the better.

I think they’ll definitely have BTC on their balance sheet and that will come before they accept it for payment. If I were in charge anyway the play would be simple. Add BTC to balance sheet, make announcement to accept it for goods, sell initial investment when it’s massively profitable, slowly earn your BTC back with sales.

I merited this thread and for all I know the seller is 100% legitimate.  It should probably be noted though that they refused to use escrow when attempting to sell some silver on a different thread which is usually a red flag against sellers in this community.  Always be careful and use escrow if you aren't aware of the reputation of the person you are dealing with.  The thread I'm mentioning is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5349490.0 and I would advise users to review it before sending any payments directly.

It could grow over time and I'm sure sponsors would be willing to help out.  I certainly wouldn't expect the forum to hit the ground running and give away a house on the first video although it would certainly be doable.  Speaking from a Donator's perspective about using forum funds (not that my opinion matters at all), I would definitely rather see my 10 BTC donation go towards helping those in need as opposed to building new forum software that we don't need.

A podcast is a cool idea too.  I'd watch it if it regularly featured new members from the community and would probably be willing to be interviewed for it (not that I'd be asked), as I'm sure many others here would as well.

I'd like to think of myself as a healthy person (physically anyway, mentally may be up for debate on this forum).  Certainly I don't consider myself to be in the bottom 0.1% of healthy individuals that would be at risk of death from Covid.  I feel like for the sake of humanity and not becoming a helpless species dependent on science and medical intervention to keep from going extinct, I should probably stay natural in my fight against this Covid foe.  If I die, I die.  It's not like I have any disillusions about the fact that I am going to die.  I'd always hoped I'd die from getting eaten by sharks on vacation or saving a helpless child/animal from death, but we can't all have an awesome end to our story.  I'm willing to risk the awesome end of mine in order to do what I believe in.

I haven't even seen any of the Olympics this year.  Perhaps the time difference is a bit more than I'm used to, but I'm not even seeing highlights on my favorite sporting shows.  Other than a few clips on Twitter, I wouldn't know the Olympics is happening.  This seems to just be a continuation of a downward trend made worse by Covid.  I can't help but think at some point the Olympic games will be attacked for being something that separates humanity instead of unites us with the way things are going.  I'm honestly surprised that liberals haven't taken the stance that the entire Olympic games is racist and should be boycotted.

If they aren't planning to accept Bitcoin as payment, I would assume that means they are planning to add Bitcoin to their balance sheet.  Given Jeff Bezos' feud with Elon Musk, he probably views Bitcoin as a potential separator of their wealth.  For competition's sake, Jeff Bezos will have to take a stake equal or greater than Tesla's to ensure that his net worth doesn't get left behind Elon's in the event BTC makes a run into the triple digits and beyond.  I suspect other car makers will also have to follow suit to ensure they remain competition. 

As far as the difficulties with accepting payments...  At this point it's pretty straight forward.  They can build a payment system or use someone like Coinbase to be an intermediary, but I suspect fees and the blocksize limit remain obstacles likely too great for Amazon to overcome in order to accept payments.  Maybe if the Lightning network takes off they would consider using that, but I don't think it is popular enough to make an impact to their business.  That's why I believe we'll see them first add Bitcoin to their balance sheet (maybe 1.5-2.5 billion dollars worth) and then see how feasible it is for them to accept it.  This is the point in the game where Lightning needs to step up and prove it's ready for primetime or else we will start to see a push to make changes to the blocksize limit that will make Roger Ver's efforts look incredibly reasonable in comparison.

Markets are increasingly good at separating money from the impatient and giving it to the patient.  Newbies that enter trading all seem to have the same goal.  Getting rich.  They think the more they trade the more likely they are to stumble on the next big thing, not realizing that the only one profiting are the market makers.  Once they've been around long enough, they see that it's the patient long term plays that make people wealthy and become investors instead of traders.  That's when they shed their newbie status and start making money.

I'd love to see some overwhelming positive content.  How about a MrBeast like channel?

For those unfamiliar, MrBeast gives away money, cars, houses, etc. to random people and those in need.  It's heartwarming positive content that popularizes the idea of giving away funds to help other people.  I think given the success of Bitcoin and this forum, I would personally love to see funds used to help others while encouraging and inspiring others to find the joy in giving.

Big names reporting earnings this week. Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft, Tesla, & Google are all set to repot. Could they have some news about expanding balance sheets or positive comments about accepting Bitcoin in the future? With the price action already this week you know they’ll be asked about it. I think we could see the groundwork laid for some fireworks.

I think big business is figuring out that if they support Bitcoin, then Bitcoiners might suddenly have a lot of money to spend on their products. What businesses would take in more money from Bitcoiners having a ton of extra money suddenly than Amazon and Tesla? Not to mention once Elon got billions in Bitcoin, Bezos couldn’t risk being left behind. It’s really only a matter of time before all billionaires and tech companies put BTC on their balance sheet as so not to lose a competitive edge.

It will be great to look at the liquidation data tomorrow. I hope there are still some bears left. There’s a long way up still to go. With the 50 day SMA now behind us I expect we’ll see some big names entering the market who view that as the all clear sign.
