7881  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Infographic]: Guide on possible reasons to leave a -ve/+ve trust feedbacks. on: January 24, 2019, 03:28:29 AM

You're making it sound like taking a BTT as collateral will cause you to instantly get red trusted. - Unless you have examples of this - i wouldn't say that this is the case.

Correct me with a recent example of BTT account used as a collateral and it wasn't red tagged.  I believe just  accepting or giving a BTT account as a collateral can be consider as account farming as the main intention of a collateral is base on the fact of loaner default so you have something to turn to.

Let me explain myself, if a user accepts or give a BTT account as collateral what he's saying is that I'm adding price value to that account and you should sell it if I can't pay back the loan to cover up. Correct me if I'm wrong.

DT members frown at any issues relating to account farming. Although this issues are still been discussed and if adjustment are made I'll update this infograhic. This is just a temporary guide based on current reasons users are leaving trust feedbacks

7883  Other / Meta / Re: We should use "Report to moderator" more often on: January 23, 2019, 02:15:16 PM
but we also need to be sure that the one we are reporting are real spammers because sometimes those people who are innocent are the one who is being reported so we should consider first in reviewing their acc and their past post if they are really worth to be reported..

What are you saying? You sound like someone who haven't used the report to moderator button before. If you click on the button you'll see something like this
Quote
You have reported ** posts with **% accuracy (** good, ** bad, **unhandled).
The ** was use to replace actually numbers in the quote above. That means for each post you report and they're seen as good posts,  it won't be deleted and I'll reflect on your report page as a bad report. So it does no harm to the OP.  In conclusion reporting an innocent people (as you said) , it does no harm to them.  And if their posts was a quality one, it won't be deleted instead you'll be the one having bad report record.
7884  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion about acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Community values. DT on: January 23, 2019, 01:08:56 PM
Here is one case i'm not very sure what to do >
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=22672;sa=showPosts;start=0
The account is most likely traded. There is a 1 year gap between the posts and from Italian switched to Russian.
He just signed a message to secure the new account.

Carryout a security research like change of password adding to @TheNewAnon135246 information (of change of email) and if it comes out positive, go ahead and red tag him but if change of password is negative then give him a red tag and if he can prove he's the owner of the account the red tag will be deleted. The red tag will serve as a warning to prove ownership of account that way you'll get his attention.

Also you should info him via trust feedback that if he can proof ownership of account red tag will be removed.
7885  Other / Meta / Re: Forum innovations in the last 12 months. on: January 23, 2019, 10:32:40 AM

Bottom line, I think everyone should take a step back and appreciate the forum is trying to push forward, adapt and grow in a way that doesn't make it self implode.

I must say,  the forum is growing very fast and the innovations are been appreciated by those who truly understands the uses of those additional features. Guessing theymos next option now is to look into enabling self-moderated thread on meta and giving us an official guidelines to leaving trust feedbacks. These are the two hottest topics right now and doing justice to them will go a long way.
I must say the implementation of the merit system has the highest impact on forum (from my view) and that's my fav of all the innovations and my least is the minor selfmod enhancement. (although it's too early to judge so I'll give it sometime)
7886  Other / Politics & Society / From what I see democrats are at fault on: January 23, 2019, 09:46:47 AM
The democrats needs to start thinking of the citizens of the United State first before their selfie interest of attacking trump and making him look bad every single opportunity they get. Only 6 democrats voted yea and 222 voted nay. This is just one of those situation that points out the real villains in this current government

7887  Economy / Reputation / Re: Need opinions about few fake ICO who have listed on Dex or worst C-ex on: January 23, 2019, 08:44:38 AM
Coins/tokens listing on exchange doesn't disprove the fact they're scam project.
Its good to create a thread lke this to make people more aware about the fake coins who are already listed to scam more people later on.

Adding to this,  @Coolcryptovator since you're good at busting this scam project it'll be great to make a thread on list of already exposed scam icos trading on exchange. You can combine your list with other users doing the same busting ICO scam stuffs. What do you think?
7888  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why did this token have a market cap of $0 during the first 2 weeks of trading? on: January 23, 2019, 08:22:04 AM
Here's an advice,  don't depend on coinmarketcap for any accurate data.  The website is mess up beside most of their information are always on a scale of average. If you want the trading volume of a coin/token visit the exchange those coins are traded on although they could also have false trading volume/price as newly added coin/tokens are easier to manipulate.

I am trying to understand this whole ICO thing. It confuses me that there was trading yet no market cap. Why?

Also it could be they haven't updated their databases after listing token on their site since they need the circulating supply of token and the current price to determine the market capitalization and newly listed tokens always have wrong information due to manipulation from exchanges.

7889  Other / Meta / Re: Do you think we need a guideline for DT members from theymos? on: January 23, 2019, 07:21:05 AM
Having an official guidelines from theymos will be great but until then that doesn't mean we shouldn't make use of the trust system. We already have general accepted offends that are worth leaving negative feedback and positive feedbacks by DT and others. How about we stick to what we already have (which is working fine)  and when theymos finial decide to create those guidelines we adjust to them and change some of our feedbacks to neutral or maybe delete those that aren't a offends by his guidelines.

I did a infograph on possible reasons to leave or not leave a negative /postive feedback. Go check it out and leave your feedbacks via reply

Reason for this thread
Additionally, it may be interesting to see all four combinations for trust feedback:
-   Use positive feed back for.
-   Don’t use positive feed back for.
-   Use negative feed back for.
-   Don’t use negative feed back for (OP).

7890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i want to buy 30 BTC, whats the best way ? on: January 23, 2019, 07:09:01 AM
OP next time you can use the Google web Search and you'll get some options on what you're searching for and in this case ask for opinions on the exchange you find that one can buy bitcoin with swift transfer. Then we can drop our advice on which is more safer or safest to use and the ones known for scamming their customers.

I did a research and according to this Cryptoradar website, they found 19 cryptocurrency marketplaces that accept payment via SEPA or SWIFT.  I also discovered that you can buy bitcoins online with International Wire (SWIFT) on Localbitcoin

Go through those site and I hope you find one that'll be convince to do transaction with.
7891  Other / Meta / Re: Why was my post deleted? on: January 23, 2019, 04:38:15 AM
Firstly posts get deleted most time when they're off topic, so I ask you,  which board was this posted in?.  Secondly post get deleted when they're low quality, it doesn't matter how long it's. Here is a brief explanation of what can be considered a low quality post. Repeating topic already discussion or started by other users.

After reading through your topic [took me something though] I wasn't impressed because it's not a new topic   That's a topic  already been discussed and more are been created on bitcoin discussion board daily.

Ps: Stop creating long topic like this it gets other users discourage from reading them. Topic is just a spam magnet so it's low quality
7892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: looking for help here with a possible scam on: January 22, 2019, 09:40:40 PM
It doesn't work. It has scam written all over it. Even though you change wallet password, the wallet creator still has control over your private key and 12 word passphrase  and he can use it when even he wants to move all the fund he'll trick you to deposit later.

Here's how it'll pays out. He'll ask you to make some deposit into the wallet could be some few dollars or more to purchase the mining contract or what ever reason he'll give you then after few minutes your fund are gone and all contact with him will be lost so don't fall for it.

Thanks alot guys i had a bad felling about it just wanted to make sure. ill take it as a lesson learned at least i did not lose much.

That's one of the reasons forum was created to alert newbies of possible scams. To stay updated with busted scams so you don't fall prey, pay a visit to the Scam accusation board regularly
7893  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Infographic]: Guide on leaving trust negative and positive feedbacks. on: January 22, 2019, 07:10:00 PM
@OP,
I've read the whole infographic, but what I didn't get here is: why should someone get a negative feedback if they take an account as a collateral?

Before I go on to answer your question, first let me make you understand what the forum consider aa a collateral
What is considered collateral?

Collateral is something that can easily be resold to cover the loan value plus interest should the loaner default on the loan.

Therefore if you accept accounts as collateral you're encouraging account farming which the DT members frown at.  Accepting an account as collateral means you're attaching a price to that account which can be sold to cover up your loan value which is considered as account farming and all accounts involved will be red tag.
7894  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Infographic]: Guide on leaving trust negative and positive feedbacks. on: January 22, 2019, 05:52:46 PM
Hello @The Pharmacist this thread was a respond to DdmrDdmr reply on my previous thread.  He asked for a thread that combines all aspect of leaving trust feedbacks. The intention was not to make it sound official but as a guideline. If you check my post history I have been gaining interest in the trust system and asking questions up and down. I thought it'll be nice to produce solutions to the questions I asked so others won't have to ask the same questions. I'm keeping a close eye on the DT discussion and will be updating the infograph as new reasons for leaving negative, positive or not leaving any trust feedbacks are suggested by the experience members like yourself.

I just made it easier through a infograph so other can understand and stop asking the same questions I did when I picked interested in the trust system.
7895  Other / Beginners & Help / [Infographic]: Guide on possible reasons to leave a -ve/+ve trust feedbacks. on: January 22, 2019, 10:38:33 AM
PS: Topic is opened for accessment and corrections. Infograph will be updated constantly as new reasons for leaving or not leaving feedbacks surfaces

What are Trust Feedbacks:
These are feedbacks users leave on other users account to serve as a warning or save sign to trade with that user.

Bitcointalk doesn't have an official rule guiding the leaving of feedbacks but we have numerous guidelines by experience users. If you aren't familiar with the trust system, the below thread will be a great place to start.

Terms used explained:
Farming means buying and selling
Swapping means exchanging e.g exchanging of +ve. trusts
[Optional] means debatable reasons

In addition
I'd like to add to this topic: before leaving feedback, ask yourself if your feedback makes the forum better, and (if applicable) is it worth destroying someone's reputation?

Before you leave a negative feedback,
You should be able to explain why this is true:
Quote from: theymos
Negative - You were scammed or you strongly believe that this person is a scammer.

Mdayonliner also has a good discussion thread about this.

If it is your intention to enlighten others on the use of the system, perhaps promote the 3rd option. I personally see Neutral as a tool for notes on the account/users behavior whether positive or negative, but not a scam/trade dispute.

Note: The moment you start leaving negative feedbacks on other users accounts, you'll make enemies and probably get false red tags so you have to read these quotes on how false negative feedback (red tags) can be handled

The best way to handle it is to appeal the red trust with the person who wrote it. However, the only way the person's red tag shows up on the trust numbers for an individual depends on their trust settings. Otherwise, it just shows up under the section "untrusted feedback." Most people have not fiddled with their trust settings, so it is set on default trust with a depth of 2. If you have customized your trust setting and want to see what your score looks like under the default settings, just go to a page with a post of yours in a section that displays the trust scores. Then after the url just add ;dt. If the tag doesn't show up on default trust, I wouldn't be too concerned about it, although these false tags may be more of a concern if there is a big move for people to start to customize their trust lists. For example, on my untrusted feedback I have someone accusing me of spreading a fictitious disease to newbies.  Cheesy

First thing you need to do - stop worrying about ludicrous retaliatory feedback. It's unavoidable but it has no effect on you and you shouldn't waste time appealing it. Trust is not moderated. You will not get it removed unless the sender agrees to do that (in rare cases extreme trust spam may be removed but don't count on that).

7896  Other / Meta / Re: Trust Merit Childish bitching, hate this forum on: January 22, 2019, 07:13:47 AM
I actually hate this forum a lot, its like a gang of mafia giving each other favors and its also like a group of teenage girls gossiping about how gets negative trust plus other bullshit like this.

No mate,  you don't hate the forum. You just hate the meta board because that's where you visit the most and that's where all those you describe above is at its peak.  I invite you to the politics and society board, come over there lets entertain you will trump's updates or spend some time reading replies on bitcoin disscussion board to entertain you while you wait for the bear market to die off
7897  Other / Meta / Re: Signature advertisers: suggestions? on: January 22, 2019, 05:32:34 AM
So if you use signatures for advertising, what are your suggestions for forum improvements in that area?

If we can tackle campaign managers, we have solved half of our problem so my suggestion goes like this. Before a user gets a privilege to manage a campaign he/she must have a past record of been meritef for quality posting  e.g a Legendary member applying to be a campaign manager must have earned 50% of the current legendary merit requirement to be eligible to manage a campaign.i.e user must have earned  1500merit for equality posting. This will make then take their job seriously as they can lose the privilege.

Secondly, there should be selected altcoin used for altcoin  bounty campaign payment. I am against the idea of banning all altcoin bounty leaving only paid bitcoin signature. The forum has grow more than just bitcoin. I believe that's why we have grin as a payment option now.  So this is my suggestion, every altcoin bounty should pay their participates in the token of the blockchain their project are developed on.
Example, If your project is based on ETH or EOS blockchain and you want to run a bounty campaign participates will be paid in ETH or EOS  and not your worthless token. I believe this will also have an impact as they got something to lose if shitposters are been paid.
7898  Other / Meta / Re: Give Legendary members some competition on: January 21, 2019, 07:29:37 PM
You should visit technical boards more, there, members, regardless of their ranks, are doing a great job by posting very informative posts and answering newbies questions.

Thanks, when it comes to technical stuffs concerning bitcoin I'm just average that's why I have been ignoring the board, don't what to sound stupid on the board but since you have pointed that out to me.  I'll visit board more often mainly to read through thread and perfect my understanding.
7899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide]: How not to use the negative feedback aka red tag. on: January 21, 2019, 04:23:17 PM
I actually feel that you are not in the right position to make up rules about negative feedback even though you rules are reasonable

This isn't a rule but a guide, I'm giving some guidelines to avoid giving of negative feedback wrongly from those new to the whole trust system to other users. I only concentrated on the negative aspect as it has more effect then the positive feedback when given wrongly. Beside everyone can give a feedback not just DT1/2 members

Edit: No 8 and 9 reasons not to red tags an account have been added. The list will be updated regularly all thanks to replies on xtraelv post.
7900  Other / Serious discussion / Re: CRYPTO IS IN AFRICA TO STAY on: January 21, 2019, 01:42:45 PM
The biggest issue is the internet connection in Africa

In most African countries this isn't an issue any more.  We now have internet services but where we have challenges is the cost of the internet service. For example I spend approximately $20 monthly for internet connection which doesn't last for that month and I live in one of the advance country in Africa now imagine what others are passing through 😢
