7922  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone have a Waffles or What invite? on: October 21, 2014, 06:05:55 PM
Bump. Can anyone hook me up with one of these or for any decent music tracker? Can still trade for a iptorrents invite.
7923  Other / Off-topic / Re: Oscar Pistorius case on: October 21, 2014, 06:01:42 PM

Can't believe he only got 5 years! The worst part is that he won't eve stay in jail for 5 years Undecided

He probably deserved a life sentence but it's hard to prove beyond all reasonable doubt his intention was murder so 5 years for manslaughter would probably be apt under the current laws, but his defense seem to think he'll spend less than a year in jail and the rest on house arrest whatever that means, which would be a joke.
7924  Other / Off-topic / Re: Shaving discussion on: October 21, 2014, 05:58:01 PM
I use a safety razor.  I use hot water (no shaving cream, soap, gel or foam).  Thanks to Jeffrey Tucker's rant against the great shaving cream scam I am free from that awful product.  http://mises.org/daily/4043/The-Sh aving-Cream-Racket

I hate shaving cos it always fucks up my skin, but I might try this way and see if it's any better. I've just been using a Gillette Mac 3 since I was a kid, but I might go for a traditional razor and blades as apparently they're better, much cheaper and last a hell of a lot longer.
7925  Other / Meta / Re: As your member rank increases, you can use more types of styling in your signatu on: October 20, 2014, 12:43:09 PM
Stickies are the threads that are permanently pinned to the top of the sub forum. There are 4 in Meta and the following one is probably what you're after: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0
7926  Economy / Services / Re: Can someone find those sc.ammers? I will pay 50% of what I get back on: October 19, 2014, 05:59:18 PM
I have no idea why you would bump this as it doesn't make you look very good, not to mention there is next to zero chance of you ever getting your money back.
7927  Other / Meta / Re: Trusted point rate? on: October 19, 2014, 04:22:05 PM
Yep - they sure can. I have one that just says "f*** u" - No reason... just didn't like something I said apparently.   Roll Eyes

Well lucky for you he forgot to check the negative feedback box and he gave you a positive one instead.
7928  Other / Meta / Re: Need help going anonymous on Bitcointalk on: October 19, 2014, 01:29:26 PM
Best way is to use a coin mixer.

There are many people using mixers these days to stay anonymous.

Mix the coins...

Bitmixer.io small fees excellent service!

Why even go through the hassle of paying to use a coinmixer for this when you can just send the payment to any bitcoin casino of your choice and then withdraw it? If you want further privacy find a site that allows tor and create a new account.
7929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we pursue SMF to accept Bitcoin ? on: October 19, 2014, 11:59:36 AM
I actually love SMF. I hope theymos doesn't change it. Did he specifically say someplace that he planned on swapping out SMF with something else?

A completely new forum software has/is being developed from scratch. It'll have all the features this one does plus more. Should be going live sometime early next year.
7930  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace section needs more mods (re altcoin threads), or auto filtering on: October 19, 2014, 11:54:51 AM
Whilst a having a couple more mods may be beneficial I think a better solution to adding more would probably be to promote some of the more active patrollers or local mods to handle the workload. It's not uncommon for me to report posts and they still be un-handled for several hours until a global mod gets on. I don't think having an auto-filter would do much good though as most would just skip past it.

7931  Other / Meta / Re: Where do I report abuse for the trust system? on: October 19, 2014, 11:51:38 AM
You could probably just post it here if you wanted to make it public, but if not theymos and/or Badbear would be your best bet.
7932  Other / Meta / Re: Password reset log on: October 19, 2014, 11:44:31 AM
He said, it will be implemented in the New Forum. Smiley

   ~~MZ~~

Implementing TOTP 2FA is significantly more effective than implementing a password reset log.

And I imagine setting up 2F is significantly more work than implementing a simple password reset log. Shouldn't be too long for the new forum now anyway.
7933  Economy / Services / Re: Silver Wallets Signature Campaign on: October 19, 2014, 11:04:37 AM
I saw TF has this in his sig.  Hillarious!

Yeah, I saw that too. He's not enrolled in this is he? Wonder if he's just trying to troll/annoy op with it?  Grin

I bought his sig space via auctions  Tongue

Oh. Why would you do that? Are you affiliated with this campaign?
7934  Other / Meta / Re: Password reset log on: October 19, 2014, 10:57:23 AM
Good feature.

What happens if the account is hacked but the password is deliberately not changed? There are a lot whose accounts are lying inactive so wouldn't check on it.

I don't think this is something we have to worry about. Someone isn't going to go to the trouble of hacking your account and then not change the password. If it's not changed then you still have control of the account until someone does change it. The original owner is going to notice something is amiss, and if it's an old inactive account then I don't see the big problem, but there's nothing that could be done about that anyway unless someone notices something fishy about the account.
7935  Other / Meta / Re: Password reset log on: October 19, 2014, 09:57:00 AM
It might have just been orange actually. It's still a bit hard to notice as the orange though.
7936  Other / Meta / Re: Password reset log on: October 19, 2014, 09:20:08 AM
Yeah, very useful. Though maybe you should change the colour of the warning This user's password was reset recently to red and make it a little larger. The yellow is hard to see, at least on my phone.
7937  Other / Meta / Re: shouldn't there be a "reputation" system along with "trust" system? on: October 19, 2014, 07:47:20 AM
There's an entire sub where you can talk about a users reputation: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=129.0

Though that of course can also be abused by trolls or people who don't like you, and creating a self-moderated thread there would be counter-productive.
7938  Other / Meta / Re: Need help going anonymous on Bitcointalk on: October 19, 2014, 07:38:16 AM
Just send them to a trusted bitcoin gambling site then withdraw straight to the unlocking address, or pay someone else to send btc there.
7939  Other / Off-topic / Re: Looking to sell my forum account for btc. Is there any interest in this? on: October 18, 2014, 12:19:00 PM
The dark side being? The side not made up of stupid trolls?
7940  Other / Off-topic / Re: Looking to sell my forum account for btc. Is there any interest in this? on: October 18, 2014, 11:20:37 AM
Yup, it's not disallowed currently, but I agree it shouldn't be tolerated.

hilariousandco, what happened dude? this used to be you...

Because unlike you I'm not impervious to logic and reason and am able to look at things from a different perspective as my mind is open to rational arguments, whereas your opinion is fixed. You have yet to provide any reason or sound argument why it should be disallowed, whereas others for the opposite have.
