Are we all forgetting the ebay fees?! And the fact that these are are for sale now on their website. These where made with the idea to be cheap and affordable to everyone.

When me made his in 2011 they were meant to be cheap and affordable as well. Let's not forget he made his from a company who made cash wash tokens.  Tongue

7924  Economy / Collectibles / Re: $50k Casascius Error Coin sold on eBay?? on: November 30, 2017, 08:00:28 PM
madness. i would love to see how many ebay sales of these things wind up going horribly wrong. it seems way too obvious a temptation to me.

what with all the different bitcoins floating around right now there's a whole world of possibilities to fool buyers too.

The past year I've had a gpu sell on there, buyer tried returning after 3 months, paypal sided with me and a buyer tried a dispute about a satori coin and I won.  Although I hear horror stories and I could take the risk with low cost items as if I lost no big deal.  Wonder about anything of decent value in crypto and the outcome if anyone has any stories...

7929  Economy / Collectibles / Re: MESSAGE FROM GRAVITATE CASH OUT COINS NOW on: November 28, 2017, 02:50:06 AM
All 3 coins I bought had BTC on them.  Shame I had to peel them.  Never peeled a coin before Sad  My god are private keys much harder to read than I thought.

Also whats the easiest way to deal with bitcoin gold?  I really haven't done much with it.

Yeah if the private keys are good don't forget about all the sh*tcoins on them like bcash and bgold and whatever air drops since they were loaded.  The whole fork thing is getting tough to buy/sell coins
7930  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Can a trusted member escrow a purchase of miners? on: November 27, 2017, 10:16:03 PM
Ideally the miners can be sent to you and I can send you payment. You can verify that the hardware is as promised, collect your fee and release payment / the merchandise.

This puts the escrow in a bind and no way they do this.  They touch money not equipment.  Maybe one will do this but will only lead to issues especially for hardware.  Who's at fault if it's broke upon shipping?  Now escrow is out money, doesn't make sense on their end to take a risk
7931  Economy / Collectibles / Re: MESSAGE FROM GRAVITATE CASH OUT COINS NOW on: November 27, 2017, 10:13:01 PM
Hopefully this attempt to reach you will not be in vain, graviate (I notice you haven't been on in a while). I have a 2014 .01BTC Microsoul that, according to the firstbits, is funded. I would like you to explicitly tell me that you are suggesting removing the holo and redeeming the funds to ensure they are in-fact there, effectively eliminating the [substantial] novelty value these coins have, and that I paid for. Furthermore, I would like to know how (and if) you plan to compensate for this lost novelty value ($200+/coin). Or, can you assure me that since the firstbit lookup says the coin is funded, that it is in-fact funded.

Either way it looks as though you aren't gonna get the answer you want.  Novelty value you won't be refunded.  Can the coin be determined to be loaded without peeling and try to redeem, nope.  You peel and there is funds on there, then the funded coin price goes down because it's peeled....
7932  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius Regret? on: November 27, 2017, 04:36:20 PM
Casascius coins also make you hold your coins if you have weaker hands. Everything about them is amazing when you think about it.

1) Rare
2) Pretty to look at
3) Makes you not impulse spend coins
4) They are offline storage
5) They collect endless shit coins

+1 on number 3.  How many times have you spent btc that later go, wish I still had that bitcoin.  Easy way to not spend and pretty secure at this point.
7933  Economy / Collectibles / Re: MESSAGE FROM GRAVITATE CASH OUT COINS NOW on: November 27, 2017, 04:06:24 PM
So I have been out of the game, but it seems that might be to my detriment.  Some of these coins are NOT funded?  and looks like I missed the cut off if they are not because i wasn't here.  That seems pretty shitty, didn't realize i would have to keep checking the forums after a purchase to ensure that my coin is funded.

Indeed it is, making mistakes can happen.  Giving people on one forum 2 months to ask for a refund of the btc value when people don't always jump on here is indeed shitty.
7934  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius Regret? on: November 27, 2017, 04:01:26 PM
These coins to me aren't just a pure investment buy hoping they will increase in value purely.  These mark a start of an era, and yes I do think that they will increase not only in usd but in btc premium over the years.
7935  Economy / Collectibles / Re: MESSAGE FROM GRAVITATE CASH OUT COINS NOW on: November 25, 2017, 01:20:29 PM
So... I'm one of those people who bought Microsoul coins back in the day.

However, I've never actually redeemed a private key before. How do I go about doing that? ELI5 Smiley

I've never redeemed a microsoul coin before but if the key under the holo is a full private key than all you need to do is import the key into a wallet.  Although it seems as though it looks as though it's a game of luck at this point... Undecided

We are on block 4369974 so block 4370000 seems natural.  4370000-4370007 determines winners.

Good luck!
