...but for others there's no proof yet that there's anyone holding bitcoin last year 2010 until now since the selling pressure even before is so high that's why provably majority who have bitcoins at that year already sold their bitcoin before or even today...

Have you read at least a few posts before going to write such nonsense? In my previous post alone, you have over 100 BTC addresses that contain coins from 2009, and there are as many more as you want. Contrary to the opinion of you and others like you who look at Bitcoin only through the prism of profit, those who witnessed the creation, and who made it possible for the project to come to life, were not burdened with the idea of buying cheap and selling for big money.
7942  Other / Meta / Re: Cryptomint9 not a plagiarist? on: March 01, 2021, 03:43:36 PM
Have you learn it? I think not, you still repeating your same mistakes in the past. Paraphrasing doesn't avoid from plagiarism since you only change few words/synonym from the original article. The only way to avoid plagiarism is give the original source or create original content with your own words.

How will he learn when he doesn't understand what plagiarism is - in other words, it's normal for him to present someone else's work as his own. What is even worse in this particular example, he tried to hide the original by using word spinning or whatever they call this way of plagiarism.

Post reported, it is now up to the moderators to punish such behavior.

I know of a case of a forum user who has 40 000 BTC and has already moved them several times, and has been a member of the forum since 2012.
Someone Just Transferred 40000 Bitcoins
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/bc1q5shngj24323nsrmxv99st02na6srekfctt30ch?page=1

Here is someone unknown who has been holding coins since 2009 ->

Code:
"Craig Steven Wright is a liar and a fraud. He doesn't have the keys used to sign this message.

The Lightning Network is a significant achievement. However, we need to continue work on improving on-chain capacity.

Unfortunately, the solution is not to just change a constant in the code or to allow powerful participants to force out others.

We are all Satoshi"

7944  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 01, 2021, 03:03:19 PM
Man, this is ridiculous. You had literally years to buy BTC under $10k. Where have you been?

I would say that the answer is very simple, all those who dream of $10 000 today, wake up from some deep sleep only when the price of BTC skyrocket, and when they are honestly hit by FOMO. They are nowhere near people who believe in Bitcoin, but they are not even intelligent enough to believe in long-term profits. If I were to tell you that at the moment about 40% of those who are in some way involved with BTC are not happy with the price, I think that best speaks to how many of these so-called sleepers we have.

I started one thread with poll on that topic - it will be interesting to see the results in 7 days.

7945  Other / Off-topic / How do you feel about Bitcoin today? on: March 01, 2021, 02:37:09 PM

Some time ago I noticed that CMC added an option that every 24 hours you can vote how you feel when it comes to BTC, and since it is certainly one of the most popular websites when it comes to statistics and price tracking I believe it has a representative sample which can pretty well show how people feel at some point.

Given that I personally got the impression that many are not happy with the price we have this year, I must admit that the results with the CMC confirm this - slightly less than half of voters obviously want a bigger correction, but I believe there are those who think we should have be at least at $100 000.

I know that the mood of the people changes with respect to the price, but I would ask you to vote based on your general opinion on whether you are happy that 1 BTC is worth almost $50 000, or you are among those who want that price to be at least half as low.
7946  Other / Off-topic / Re: Thrustworthy retailer websites on: March 01, 2021, 02:07:48 PM
xtravision, my advice to you is to be careful when shopping, and if at all possible to make a purchase in a physical store - and if it is not possible to buy only from verified sellers - because scammers are everywhere these days.

As for the links, my suggestion is to look at the following :

https://spending-bitcoin.com/category/bitcoin%20hardware
https://spending-bitcoin.com/category/electronics

Also, since this topic seems to be moving to the Mining direction, probably move this to the Mining[2] section. Move button is on the bottom left corner of this page.

Given how that board is strictly moderated, I would not advise the OP to do that - and it seems to me that this could very easily end up in the OT.
7947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The minimum liability for the forum. on: March 01, 2021, 11:39:08 AM
I have to admit that it seems strange for some older members to behave like this, because they should know that such a thread will be deleted very quickly and that any discussion makes no sense. Maybe it makes sense to warn someone that what he is doing is against the rules of the forum - for the reason that he understands why his thread was deleted and not to repeat the same mistake.

I am creating this thread to remind our minimum liability for the forum.

It's always a good reminder, because anyone can contribute to making the forum a better place even with one report a day - mods mostly work on user reports, and we should all be interested in doing our part of the job. I think the biggest problem is that some people aren't used to doing something for free - so they probably look at reports as a waste of time.
7948  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets banned in India?! on: March 01, 2021, 11:09:43 AM
The thing that I didn't understand, you mean that they banned Bitcoin Hardware Wallet and their customs didn't allow to import HW in India but they had a local official retailer shop that you can purchase Hardware Wallet right?  So, how these merchants got a Hardware Wallet bringing inside their country?

If the import of hardware wallets is banned, then it probably applies to ordinary people and to importers - does it make any sense to allow the sale through intermediaries, and to ban the import?

This whole situation is actually still completely unconfirmed, there is no official announcement of Indian customs. In the end, all this can only be the result of some rumor, and there has been too much of that in India in recent years.

Here, it must be stressed that the veracity of this claim was still in question at press time, especially since no customers had actually come forward to claim anything of this sort. In fact, no official notification or circular from any government agency asserting a ban on Bitcoin wallet imports had been found either.
7949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another month of March on: March 01, 2021, 10:48:19 AM
I hope the price halves, that wil shake out some of the weak hands, and give me a chance to buy some more. Smiley

Weak hands have already sold believing that it is impossible for BTC to reach more than $20k or maybe $30k, which was to be followed by a correction of at least 50%. I don't understand why people expect such big corrections that don't make much sense this year - this is the year of big investments and the year that comes after halving.

There’s always a chance of some big dip happening, but I personally don’t hope for that - there was quite enough time for cheap shopping, winter is behind us and we should enjoy crypto spring Cool
7950  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk and BTC on: March 01, 2021, 10:26:24 AM
I am saying that is it like a lottery since BTC reached 20 000 in december 2017. After that it managed to go under 4 000 in january 2019. Since then it went up and down like a pendulum and there is no way to predict which direction it will go. That's what I am talking about and not about early investors that like you mentioned achieved an ROI of as much as 32745.69%

It is a well-known fact that Bitcoin is extremely volatile, and that is exactly what you are talking about. Investing in Bitcoin or stocks is a lottery in a way, but tell me what in life is not a lottery?

I will tell you that you are mistaken when you say that price movements cannot be predicted, because every year after halving was extremely bullish - and we are just in one such year in which significant growth was expected. The fact that people did not want to listen at the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018 is a completely different problem - just as they completely identified the beginning of 2021 with the beginning of 2018, so they mostly sold everything they had, and now they wonder why the correction did not happen.

People who can't understand the basics of the market and how Bitcoin works will always be the ones to lose - in other words, not everyone is capable of being successful in everything they do.
7951  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk and BTC on: February 28, 2021, 02:58:18 PM
No one will attack you, everyone has the right to write what they think, it's just a matter of whether there are facts or completely unfounded assumptions behind something.

Let's say this post of yours really doesn't make sense to me personally because you are referring to the price of $57k - and we are currently at $44k. All those who know the history can clearly see (even on the page you linked) that BTC has achieved impressive results in a little over 10 years of its existence - and that every intelligent investor sees a much broader picture than the one you take into account at this moment.

Counter-question for you - which investor with a clear mind would not invest in an asset that has achieved an ROI of as much as 32745.69% since 2013?
7952  Economy / Economics / Re: Tech companies no longer "friends" on: February 28, 2021, 02:46:38 PM
They are all American companies, all of them are also globally positioned and make huge profits - I don't see why it is important for their relationship to be anything more than professional. Furthermore, the blockchain is open source and anyone can experiment with it, whether FB or Google does it, is completely irrelevant - the key thing is whether these companies see some profit in it.

If we take FB as an example, we can conclude that all other companies will go for some centralized solution, and we can bet that all these companies are working on it. What seems less likely to me is that, say, Apple will invest in BTC just because some shareholders would not like it, and one of the biggest is the well-known Warren Buffett (Berkshire Hathaway).
7953  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what was the highest Merit given on Bitcointalk ? on: February 28, 2021, 02:21:51 PM
If you are wondering how many merits you can give to someone at once, that number is 50 - and this is also the maximum number that one user can give to another in a period of 30 days. If your question goes in the direction that you are interested in who got the most merits so far - you can see the statistics at this link -> https://bpip.org/

As for the question of whether it is easy or not, some will say that it is extremely easy - others will say the exact opposite Wink
7954  Economy / Speculation / Re: ARE WE STILL BULLISH OR BEARISH ? on: February 28, 2021, 01:53:21 PM
I would dare to say that we are exactly where we should be in terms of price, because everything that happened after the news about Tesla has lost its short-term effect. In the long run I don’t see why we wouldn’t still be bullish, so we’re in a post-halving year and that’s going to have some effect.

The hype is over. so we can expect it be bearish.
If we account the people who only invest because of Elon, we can say that some of them blame btc for losing their money as they've probably the ones who invest when it is in high, then the sudden dip so they're not coming back. If that's the case, it will go down and down as long as musk don't make a tweet.

At the time Tesla was buying BTC, Musk posted on his Twitter that Bitcoin is bs, same as fiat, and I wouldn't be surprised if his followers, which now has more than 48 million, reacted to his tweet that the price of BTC is a too high, which brought down the price by 10%. Personally, it is very strange to me that the price of BTC depends on what the next EM will write on its Twitter...

I think the OP is referring to the fact that March is indeed one of the worst months when it comes to monthly returns, but some other months of the year have similar statistics, such as September.

I think most of us still remember what happened last year in March, although of course it was a very specific situation - but given the current price movement, it is very possible that this March will have a negative monthly return. It is possible that the statistically bad March has to do with the fact that the beginning of the year in the world is usually marked by tax reports, but also the fact that many have less money to spend because traditionally the most money is spent during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Personally, I talked to at least ten friends about crypto and bitcoin, but no one decided to get involved and try.

From what I have read over the years, it can be concluded that some parts of the world are much more aware of the existence of cryptocurrencies than some others. If we take as an example the country we come from and the US, it is not surprising that most Americans have heard of BTC, given that it is part of the daily media coverage (CNBC, CNN, FOX ...), and the fact that more than 80% of all crypto ATMs are located right there - not to mention all US based companies like Coinbase or Grayscale.

The average American has a much better chance of developing an interest in BTC, than someone you, or I talked to about it.

I'm trying to use the pay by grin option but it seems grin has moved on from sending by file or something? the command recommended on the payment page is deprecated, and it won't accept slate code either?

I'm not sure if your problem has anything to do with the network upgrade that happened in January this year - are you sure you have a compatible wallet?

The fourth network upgrade is expected to happen in mid-January 2021. Compatible versions of grin node and grin-wallet will be versioned 5.0.0 or greater. grin-miner will be unaffected. The first releases of these are scheduled for December.

The copper membership is supposed to be like $20 and if I pay in bitcoin then the fee will be 3 times as much

Not really, at the moment you can send a standard transaction for only about $3 and get a confirmation in the next block - or pay half less for a confirmation in the next 6 blocks. You are probably relying on your wallet which always shows you the highest possible fee, or simply has a bad algorithm that calculates the fee based on the current state of mempool.

7958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I convince people that Bitcoin isn't a financial pyramid? on: February 27, 2021, 05:05:12 PM
Exactly this is the the main problem I noticed when talking about bitcoin with people that are in the "contra" group. They see situation white and black, and they consider bitcoin completely useless if it doesn't overtake fiat. Which is honestly not realistic anyway, at least not any time soon, as much as we would like it.

People living in some fairy tales that are just fairy tales and nothing more, don’t look at the bigger picture at all - the world is actually one huge conflict of interest, and Bitcoin is currently just one small variable that is in the process of being evaluated between all those interests.

As Satoshi Nakamoto famously said , "If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry".

That's right, Satoshi knew how to value his time, and so should each of us - because when you think about how much time you spent explaining to someone what Bitcoin is - and instead of thanking, you turn out to be a weirdo and a criminal who wants to overthrow the government and monetary system.

Firstly, please fix your quotations. You're doing your best to make your posts look smart and can't even place proper code tags.

You took the word out of my mouth, and I will just add that those who do not know how to use the basic functions of the forum should not prove to anyone that Bitcoin is a Ponzi or a fraudulent scheme. I read the same things for more than 5 years, and I have no doubt that I will read the same for the next 5 years. I have nothing against other opinions, but we should deal with the facts - and the fact is that BTC has been around for 12 years and has nothing to do with someone wanting to deceive someone. Everyone has the free will to buy BTC or not.
7959  Economy / Economics / Re: Big test for Bitcoin during the next Economic Collapse. on: February 27, 2021, 04:41:40 PM
We had big test in March last year when covid crash happened. Bitcoin went from $9000 to $5000 in a week. So value of Bitcoin almost halved. At same time Gold went from $1680 to $1480. So a 12% drop. This is huge difference. And it matters a lot to people that want to hedge against economic crashes. It i s much better to lose 12% then 45%

There is no point in comparing gold and BTC, never, not even in the case when the market collapses as it did in March last year. I can also say the following: How much has the price of BTC risen over a period of one year - more than 400% - and gold, if I'm not mistaken, has gone up by only about 5% (today's price $1734).

People who want stability and can't stand volatility will always choose gold - others know that BTC has always been something to be trusted from the very beginning until today.
7960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Someone asked me he got $500 to invest in btc, is it the right time to enter? on: February 27, 2021, 04:20:09 PM
Right now if someone is absolutely new and have never ever invested in BTC, in my opinion he should wait for a couple of months before putting in some money.

If someone is absolutely new and has no idea what Bitcoin is, the worst thing they can do is start investing. Anyone who is not educated and prepared will sooner or later make a mistake, whether it is a panic sale that will result in a loss, or will become a victim of hacking/online fraud.

A friend asked me if he should invest his $500, he is a no tech guy, and just consuming the news, like it was at the beginning of 2018 where a lot of people have bought the highs.

In that case, you should have learned something - and that is to invest in the bear market - and not when we are more than in the obvious bull run. If by any chance history repeats itself, then 2022 could be the year when a significant correction will take place - although this should not be taken for granted.

What could possibly be the best time range or price range in 2021 for a person who is willing to invest in btc during 2021, just for a general idea.

In general, it's a question you shouldn't expect any concrete answer to, simply because no one can predict the future. If we look at the trend that has existed since the beginning of the year, it is generally positive, and we see it in the price increase from $30 000 (beginning of the year) to $58 000, which is a fantastic growth. I have written somewhere before that an average price increase of only $6000 per month would result in a price of $100 000 by the end of the year, and I hope that will be the case.

In that case, the best time to invest is right now or for those who are still waiting for entry at a significantly lower price, maybe only next year.
