Anyone know a way around the Blades resetting to a low clock after being disconnected from a pool for a while ? Consistently happens for me when Bitminter goes offline  Only happens on B1 firmware. |

If you paid but did not make it in the first 8 I will fully refund you $ or BTCs. For the most part my PM that I am out of blades will be probably quicker than your payment.
If this is an auction, set a reserve or min and a time scale. Otherwise its just you seeing what people are willing to pay and nothing is binding. |

What people seem to be getting horrifically wrong with their predictions is difficulty simply can't rise forever. Follow the chain now:
Proposed: Difficulty will rise to the point that the only widely available ASIC won't be viable [B3 @100 for example. Note that Avalon homebrews are only ~40% cheaper]
-> So if no unit purchased will ROI, ever, who is buying additional ASICs?
-> If no one is buying ASICs, why is hash rate still rising?
-> If hash rate isn't rising, difficulty isn't going up
-> Difficulty plateaus.
Some of these calculations just don't make sense, reaching difficulties of several million. Yes ASICs are POWER profitable until several billion in some cases, but they're not PURCHASE profitable. Not purchase profitable = no new ASICs = no rising difficulty.
Its a catch 22 that difficulty will rise at an extreme rate for a sustained period of time, making everything unprofitable.
Yes, but...even if we have 6 months or so of say 25% increases every two weeks, that's enough to make this and many other ASICs unprofitable. It doesn't have to rise exponentially for years. There are a zillion preorders, chip orders, ASICMINER upgrades, etc. in the pipeline which will likely be produced and put online. That is sufficient for the difficulty increases that make blades, USB eruptors, 250 BTC Avalons, etc. unprofitable. I think we will see 100M by November, and maybe 200M by 1Q2014. And at 200M with ZERO growth you'd need to be able to buy hardware at 0.1btc/GH, ie 3% of the price you'd pay today. No ASIC will achieve such numbers, probably even for the manufacturer. Hence, its very, very unlikely that a 200M would be sustainable and would likely fall off. People seeing no return for mining -> turn off equipment. Anyone know what a GPU miner makes today? I want to plug in the number and see when they no longer make anything substantial. 0.32 USD/24h@100MHash/s At pretty much 1btc=100$ So a 600MH 7950/70 = 0.0192btc per day at 15.6M difficulty. So at 200M, that'd be 0.0015btc per day. = 15cence a day. 200W per card = 4.8Kwh which at 0.15cence/kwh = $0.72 tldr: 7970 revenue @ 200M = 0.0015btc = 15cence a day. Power costs a day = 72cence a day =fucked. Even at today's difficulty it would take a fresh $350 7970 =182 days at fixed difficulty |

Using laser can melt however there are a lot of issues to be settled, there is a form of sand 3d printing especially when using such metals.
I am aware you can MELT copper, however there is sensible process for additively manufacturing with copper. Some people have tried it with SLS but its just.... no.... It doesn't work out too well and you need a KW laser. SLS machines are also not very office friendly due to the dust/atm control and lasers. Not being office friendly is really an understatement There are a few SLS machines in our lab, and you *could* put one in an office in a side room. The only real problem is hacking in the ventilation system. |

If they can print with metals (maybe lower melting point type) that would be fantastic. Directed energy deposition can. Types of binder jetting can but cheatingly using an infiltrator. If anyone wants advice on specifics, machines, materials, limitations etc then pm me. Just finished 2 semesters learning from one of the most advanced additive labs there are. Are you into 3D printer design using copper? If yes I guess we can form a virtual team I can't think of any method that could use copper. are you serious, you use a camera for screenshots  never heard about the function "printscreen"  sorry, but you are running high-tech-equipment and dont know the basics ... Because you could photoshop screenshots in fucking paint *sigh* Its a hell of a lot harder from a camera, especially a low quality one. No kidding, screenshots are proof of nothing. When it comes to 'proof' the rule is do NOT use screencap, always cap an 'analog' environment. You can just as easily photoshop an image and then take an analog picture of the photoshoped image. This would propably make the fake even harder to discover as a low quality analog picture could hide details that would allow you to discover the fake. How do you know the foil in your tin foil hat isn't bugged? Blades were sold. |
