7961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin acceptance on: August 28, 2017, 06:33:22 PM
BTC is getting a lot of attention lately, so its not a big surprise.

It is getting a lot of media coverage. And the best thing is that most of the media coverage is positive, concentrating on the huge returns for the investors during the past 2 years. Hardly any mention about Silk Road and the other dark markets.
7962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are transaction times so slow? on: August 28, 2017, 06:20:06 PM
Most exchanges will let you trade BCH directly for Fiat. Same goes for Litecoin and Ethereum - you can change it directly for fiat. So it makes sense to use those while bitcoin sorts itself out.

But have you checked the BCH vs fiat and ETH vs fiat volumes? They are very low when compared to BCH vs BTC and ETH vs BTC volumes. But the volumes for the former group is showing signs of increase, for the past few days.
7963  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Btc = you make me tired on: August 28, 2017, 12:20:24 PM
BTC makes tired it can actually be an early struggle, where btc has a good track record and a fairly high rate from time to time. But all the fatigue is paid when getting bitcoin as income and managed to sell it at the highest rate.

Dude, no one will give you money for free (with the exception of crypto-coin airdrops), either in fiat currency such as US Dollar, Euro or Japanese Yen, or in crypto-currency (BTC, ETH, XMR.etc). Work hard, if you want to earn Bitcoins.
7964  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best coin to buy today? on: August 28, 2017, 12:15:27 PM
Bitcoin will remain as the most reliable crypto-currency for the next 10-15 years. If you want to diversify your investment, then you can invest in Bitcoin Cash. Other attractive options would be Byteball and Waves.
7965  Economy / Economics / Re: Is USD being used for illegal activities? on: August 27, 2017, 11:21:07 AM
A few days back, I read that more than 80% of the funding for the ISIS (in Syria and Iraq) is sourced in the form of US Dollar. Most of the remaining is in the form of other fiat currencies (Turkish Lira, Syrian Pound, Iraqi Dinar.etc) and gold. And even after all this, some people would like to claim that Bitcoin is being used for terrorist funding.
7966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Bitcoin Cash on: August 27, 2017, 11:18:00 AM
But bcash will only be regarded as altcoin,, now only serves as a medium of exchange and there is no potential, I see this coin will sink at the end of the year because in the end traders choose back on bitcoin or ethereum as ruler, now bcash keep moving because still dominated fish Whales so can quickly jack up prices.

Too early to predict the demise of Bitcoin Cash. And I am also not sure about whether we can call the currency as an altcoin or not. They didn't split the original Bitcoin Blockchain, but they cloned it. Until August 1, all the transactions and the wallets are the same.
7967  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-25]Bitcoin Exchange BTC-e Promises 'Daily' Updates During Relaunch Atte on: August 27, 2017, 11:13:18 AM
I lost about BTC0.05 when BTC-e was seized. It was a significant amount for me, because at that time my total BTC holdings were only around BTC0.20. I lost around 25% of all my coins. Can someone enlighten me how much of my money I'll be getting back. And please tell me how to apply for getting these reimbursements.
7968  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-26] Expert Predicts Bitcoin Will be Worth up to $20,000 in 3yrs on: August 27, 2017, 11:10:30 AM
There is no point in predicting the future exchange rates of Bitcoin, because till now no one has succeeded in doing it. Back in 2015, people would have laughed at you if you had claimed that after two years the exchange rates could climb to $4,400 per coin.
7969  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-26] Estonia Considering Creating Its Own Cryptocurrency on: August 27, 2017, 11:08:51 AM
I clicked you link and there is no mention about Estonia or Estcoin. There was only an article about Viberate. And I Googled a bit about Estcoin. And from what I have read, some private individuals are behind that coin and the Estonian government is not involved in it.
7970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction FEES 0.00133153 BTC !!! on: August 27, 2017, 10:57:34 AM
That is too much for a fee. Well in our wallet in philippines it can cost up to .009 just for a high transaction speed.

Wow! Did you paid BTC0.009 ($40) as transaction fee for a single transaction? That's a new high. Take my advice. Wait for a few days, or even weeks. There is no point in paying this much as the tx fee. You can send the coins at a later time, when the fee gets lower.
7971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: August 27, 2017, 10:55:17 AM
Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
yes it will but in short percentage. bitcoin is very famous now compare to others. in trading they prepfer to use bitcoin as main currency to exchange it for altcoins.
In my opinion Etherium, doge and golem is the stronggest altcoin that have big chance to be famous as bitcoin. But I think no one of them that can replace bitcoin as the number one currency. Also the chance is very small.

Have you checked the hash rates of these coins (ETH, DOGE.etc)? Check it here:

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin%20cash-hashrate.html

As you can see, the only altcoin which is capable of giving any competition to BTC in hash rate is Bitcoin Cash. Here is the latest hash rate for the top coins:

BTC: 4.55 E
BCH: 3.00 E
ETH: 89 T (0.000089 E)
LTC: 14.65T
DASH: 26.96T
7972  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Wallet without transaction fee on: August 27, 2017, 10:49:04 AM
Transaction fees did rise with BTC's price rising too.

I was expecting the tx fee to go down with the rising exchange rates of BTC. I will tell you the reason. When the exchange rates were around $200 per coin, I was paying BTC0.0001 as tx fee (i.e $0.02). And now, when the exchange rates are $4,400 per coin, I am paying BTC0.0015 as the tx fee (i.e $6.60). In short, the fee has risen by 330 times in USD terms.
7973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you guys withdraw your bitcoins to cash? on: August 27, 2017, 10:45:44 AM
Currently, I am using Localbitcoins to sell my Bitcoins to fiat cash and deposit the cash in my bank account. There are two reasons why I prefer LBC. The first is that the rates in LBC are higher than the rates in international crypto-exchanges. And the second reason is that Bitcoin debit cards are too expensive and their fees is also very high.
7974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 24, 2017, 03:50:53 PM
Interesting to see what will happen in September now that the next air drop has been reduced to 10%. Hopefully people will be incentivized to hold GBYTES more than before so the price won't be fluctuating wildly like last time  Wink

Before the last airdrop, I GBYTE was worth around BTC0.25. Now it is worth only around BTC0.08. If the value goes down, then even lesser number of people will be tempted to hold their coins. Also, the number of BTC linked to transition bot has increased significantly for the next round. I assume that most of these new users will be selling the bytes as soon as they receive them.
7975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $150 Billion: Total Cryptocurrency Market Cap on: August 24, 2017, 03:37:48 PM
I still remember 2015, when the total market cap was less than $5 billion. Back then, no one thought that we would achieve this sort of market capitalization so quickly. I am still waiting for the $1 trillion market cap!
7976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price point per BTC will it be too late for the average person on: August 24, 2017, 03:33:11 PM
No one can predict that. IMO, Bitcoin has the potential to increase its user base by at least 10 times. And the exchange rates can also rise by that much, to around $40,000 to $50,000 per coin. So I would say that the threshold is at $50K.
7977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you view more favorably, BTC or BCH? on: August 24, 2017, 03:31:53 PM
I was surprised by the results of the poll so far. Almost equal number of people are supporting both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. Recently, the average transaction fees has risen considerably. That may be the reason for the boost received by BCH.
7978  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin the new gold on: August 23, 2017, 12:21:23 PM
bitcoin has gone past its gold phase, at this moment it is super duper white gold. There is nothing which matches the profit returns bitcoin is yielding. one can see that all traditional investments are way behind when it comes to the returns from the bitcoin.
Interesting this progress is continued from last two to three years.
Yes, bitcoins have beaten all other modes of investments in regard of generating profits. No other investments whether they are some digital currencies or physical investments like gold etc, are as profitable as bitcoins have been in the last few years. I am glad that bitcoins have been introduced to world

It just tells that you are not very familiar

With "other modes of investments in regard of generating profits". There are quite a few investment vehicles that can potentially give you as high as or even higher profits than Bitcoin has been offering so far. You may want to look into, for example, commodity options (like crude oil ones) or volatility indexes. The latter could give you insane amounts of profits in less than not time as well as completely destroy your capital in no less time as well. But if you know what you are doing, Bitcoin would look pretty pale in comparison to these instruments in terms of potential profitability

I am not very familiar with Futures and Options (F&O). But as far as I know, it is not possible to get more than 100% profit from F&O. The maximum limit is 1x (please correct me if I am wrong). But Bitcoin has given more than 100% returns on a few occasions.
7979  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc or Bcc on: August 23, 2017, 12:19:15 PM
I have been following the trend of augment between the support of bitcoin core and bitcoin cash about the one that conform to the idea of the founding father of bitcoin! That is a cryptocurrency that is decentralised, low fee, fast in transferring and use as money and stored of values. In your own opinions which one among the two conform to the ideas of satoshi?
It is bitcoin for me because bitcoin is the one that we are using everyday, and in bitcoin we are now getting rich, bcc can dump easily and also pumped easily in short there is no exact price of it,  that's why i am choosing bitcoins than bcc

BCH is a relatively new coin. It is just 23 days old. And that is the reason why there is so much volatility and so many of these pump-and-dump events. But it will stabilize in the next 3-4 months at the most.
7980  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has defeated gold on: August 23, 2017, 12:12:18 PM
yeah bitcoin defeated gold, a year ago and now bitcoin has defeated and double the price of gold in it's own price and keep looking forward to increase the value  of bitcoin in the future Smiley

One Bitcoin is now worth almost 4 times the value of one oz. of gold. Check this:

One oz. of gold: $1,290
One Bitcoin: $4,240

But IMO, we should be comparing the market cap, as in the former case we were comparing different units (ounce of gold with coin). And the market cap is as follows:

Market cap of gold: $7.5 trillion
Market cap of Bitcoin: $70 billion
