Are you the one scammed? What's the story?

No, I am not buying from other dealers. I sell to them.

The story is in the original post, this one was moved to off-topic for a reason Wink
7982  Other / Off-topic / Re: SCAM - Coinabul owe me 90btc (off topic part) on: March 14, 2013, 10:50:12 AM
I almost bought something from Coinabul. Not now. I'm sticking to Amagi, I've yet to be disappointed.

I would use Amagi if i lived in the States. Good prices.

The sole bidder won the auction! Congratulations. You can choose to pay to my blockchain address (OP) or escrow with John.

Please PM me your name and address.

Thank you for being my first customer in this forum!

as much as i hate agreeing with that MPEX-Lady, you might wanna build up some credentials in the community.
180 posts, eastern yurop, loads of supposedly cheap silver - you cant blame anyone for at least being cautious, to say the least.

are you on bitcoin-otc?

whothefuck lady? Isn't it Mircea himself? Should I also employ a chick posting for me if I am too busy to care?-)
7987  Economy / Auctions / Re: 24H - !EARLY BID BONUS! - 50 x 1 OZ SILVER MAPLE LEAF (EU DELIVERY) on: March 13, 2013, 03:32:59 PM
Can't you see how stupid this is?  Huh

The thread is 19 posts long and only a single bid in the auction so far. I am considering giving up. Yes, you can scam each other as much as you want, I thought I would like to be a part of this community, but it is too much of a burden for a normal person to play this hide-and-seek. If anyone cares, the silver is now selling at about spot price, 20% cheaper than any dealer in the EU.

By the way, the escrow was added. I am fine with John K.

Hi all. Eesti Investeerimishobe OU ("Estonian Investment Silver Corp."), incorporated in Tallinn, Estonia 2009, seeks to offer European bitcoin users an unparalleled experience when shopping for precious metals. By this we mean that you can buy cheaper than from others and also less hassle. We respect all fine businesses out there, but intend to be the cheapest in Europe.

googling for "Eesti Investeerimishobe" turns up 2 results: this thread and a seemingly unrelated page about silver investing.

Do you have a web-page?

No, sorry. Eesti Investeerimishobe does not have a web page. The trust-link currently is the following:
https://www.silverbank.net/index.php/en/meista/our-company

Silverbank is not related to this offer, but it will verify that I am doing silver business. My photo is showing in this page (if you refresh often enough Wink

Sorry, there's have been so many scams here that you need to ask silverbank to promote some how this auction in their webpage or blog, or no cigar. No one is gonna send you BTC without escrow only based on claims that you will deliver.

See below:
https://www.silverbank.net/index.php/en/meista/our-company

The whole issue can be discussed here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152456.0

TL,DR: I find it stupid that "no one is going to trust you without X", and would like to import my existing trust and business history to the forum. The https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152456.0 discusses the topic in a general way.

Oh, I hate to see you  Cry ...

For the terms of this deal, please refer to the thread alone, not any external websites. Silverbank/Silvervault is a different company with a different business model. "EIH" that is selling these coins, is a traditional silver dealership. It is so traditional it does not even have a website, but despite (or: because) the fact it commands a high volume of sales and is cheaper than the alternatives.

As a gesture of friendship, I will sell to you 2 coins at the price mentioned in OP, plus the actual shipping cost to us, BTC.086. This shipping is registered but uninsured, takes about a week to reach you and I will personally guarantee a reimbursement if despite the registration, the coins are lost in transit. At no extra charge.

How about? Price locked in by sending BTC to: 15dYsxEh5bNnFXE26au5jjTHk8BcrozuZy
AND sending me a PM with details of the deal and transaction details. And it is mainland Portugal, right?  Grin

So, if I buy you 2 of those coins will you ship to Portugal VAT free?

We will be able to ship to Portugal VAT-free up to a certain limit, which is anyway more than €10,000 per year, and we have no shipments to Portugal so far this year.

The minimum purchase is 25 coins, but I am sure you meant 2 tubes = 50 coins!

Ah, to be honest I really meant 2 coins, not tubes. I only checked the price at the OP briefly and then went to your site and there it said you didn't ship, hence why I came to ask if it was possible.
Now I'm Cry
7991  Economy / Auctions / Re: 24H - !EARLY BID BONUS! - 50 x 1 OZ SILVER MAPLE LEAF (EU DELIVERY) on: March 13, 2013, 12:00:59 PM

Thank you, it is heartwarming to see that somebody will want to adopt these poor coins, even though the price is still below melt value!  Cheesy

Other bidders please read the OP carefully. There is an invisible hand helping you with the bid, and it adds BTC.1 to your bid per every hour of auction left when you post a bid. Because there is about 8:26 hours left, this bid will be evaluated at BTC31.843.

Happy bidding continues! I will not have the opportunity to confirm every bid manually, luckily I don't have to!
7992  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to gain Trust? on: March 13, 2013, 11:53:43 AM
To start off quickly without having to build the trust needed painstakingly, prior references would be good as a starting point.

Yes, exactly. That is the whole point. In the world out there, many people far more excellent than the one speaking, are waiting to join and serve the community. What are the recommended ways how to transfer the existing trust? Practically. Could you please write a concise guide? Even today I am attending a club meeting with 10-15 people in the same situation as I or 6-months behind. Your help will be a great benefit!

Thanks. Just in case you haven't seen my post here regarding your trust issue: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152456.msg1619777#msg1619777

Answered that already Smiley However I need to attend to other business now for about 72 hours, during which we will also update the Silverbank.net website. We already have bitcoin accounts for the partners of the company. The launch of bitcoin accounts for all our customers will be in April if certain legal and tax matters are cleared. Then this will be another service to offer investing in bitcoin for people in 190 countries. Our speciality is that you can trade physical silver for fully backed bitcoins and back, at .25%-1% fee. Directly, without currency.

I've read through your post here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=151800.0 to see why you're particular about this 'trust' issue. Please consider the fact that anyone doing some research over the internet can easily forge and assume someone else's identity easily unless there's some verification measures taken in hand. Your thread there provides absolutely nothing except stating that you're Risto Pietilä, and you're the owner of Eesti Investeerimishobe OU, which someone else could easily state too. I would suggest you start off by adding a small entry on your silverbank.net site (https://www.silverbank.net/index.php/en/meista/our-company) stating that you're rpietila on bitcointalk.org. That would help link your identity here in order to establish trust.  You can also link yourself on Twitter/ other business websites that you own etc to prove that you're this guy we're talking with.

I wish you good luck in your business here.

Oh, I see your point. Being half-anonymous seems to be as practical as being half-pregnant...

7997  Other / Off-topic / Re: SCAM - Coinabul owe me 90btc on: March 13, 2013, 11:00:35 AM
I'm hard to please? They don't need to please me, nor do you for what matters.
Who they should be trying to please is their customers.
If you can do better than them I'm sure you'll grab all their customers, and given the current situation doing better shouldn't be that difficult for you, if what you said on that other thread of yours is true.

I don't think I will grab their customers, as they serve the US and the World, and I serve the EU.

Care to elaborate what exactly in the other thread sounds convincing to you? I very much appreciate the answer Smiley
7998  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Don't buy anything from coinabul. Yet another complaint. on: March 13, 2013, 10:49:27 AM
In case it helps - in the real world it goes like this:

The dealer must make sure that the customer is trustworthy, BEFOREHAND.

The dealer must make sure that he can deliver the promise, BEFOREHAND.

THEN, the customer may place a binding order with the dealer. Usually, the price quoted is locked-in for one hour, during which the customer must pay. In high-trust cases, the payment may come several days late. In low-trust cases, the customer pays first, and then the price is locked in.

At the lock-in moment, the dealer executes the trade with his suppliers. After that, the customer owns metal, not cash. If he fails to pay, the dealer is entitled to the damages. If customer wants to cancel, that is a new trade. If dealer wants to cancel, HE CANNOT. He MUST deliver. The customer has bought certain metal and he is entitled to receive it. End of story.

So, with reputable dealers, there may be problems, but they are not related to whether the customer has the right to his purchase. If that is denied, it is a scam.
7999  Other / Off-topic / Re: SCAM - Coinabul owe me 90btc on: March 13, 2013, 10:34:27 AM
You feel sorry for them?

Don't tell me you're also selling Gold and Silver without having informed yourself where you can ship it to or not... or making customers pay for insurances that don't cover the lost package... or saying it will be shipped in 2 days and taking 2 months...

Because if that's also your Modus Operandi you better give up now.

Man, you are hard to please. Even feeling sorry that somebody has messed up is bad in your eyes...  Undecided

Did you read my email proposal to coinabul - that they fold quickly because no matter if they are right or wrong, they lose? Well they did not even care to reply, which shows how immature they are.

The difference between you and me is, I have actually been doing business all my life and that gives me a certain tolerance for behavior that is annoying, but not outright criminal. Shipping time is critical for ASIC manufacturers, but for investment products, hardly ever damage is done if an order takes longer to deliver than promised or expected. What can not be tolerated, is the messing up with locked-in prices. If you lock in, it is a deal. Every professional merchant knows it. If you cannot trust your customers to know it, don't let them lock in before they pay. Yes, I started my career by wiring $10000s into the US, without even knowing the price of the product I was supposed to pay for.

What does not surprise me the least, is that there are issues with shipping and whatnot. That's business. What does surprise me, is the willingness to order from these bitcoin businesses whose expertise cannot compare to the outside world. Mr. P was ranting in the other thread that he is doing things right and eating competition alive (MPEx>GLBSE). I don't know if I am doing things better than anyone else in the outside world, but for all I know so far, you bitcoiners seem to be willing to be a$$raped by anyone in the "community" as if it is your holy obligation to feed kids, who are acting business, and stubbornly refuse to take advice from somebody who has been doing it for long and knows what he is doing.

/quintuple-facepalm

I feel sorry for the guys at Coinabul. If ever (hopefully not) I behave as stupidly in my dealings as a gold and silver dealer, please inform me first and give me a chance of making things right!

(I think Coinabul is now aware of the situation, but just in case - not everyone reads this forum 24/7 like I was told when I asked the BTC be paid in 1 hour after the auction ending time.)
