7981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: International Money Transfer on: May 30, 2017, 06:24:48 AM
Is bitcoin cheaper than other options for international money transfer? I have seen many agree with it and many dispute it, but not with hard numbers.

As other options are expressed in terms of a percentage (eg, 4% fees), this needs to be the comparison for bitcoin, at various amounts of money, despite that bitcoin transaction fees are apparently unrelated to the amount being sent. Let's also say for the sake of argument that a transfer within 24 hours is acceptable.

Bitcoin is way cheaper than wire transfers. There is no doubt about that.
I don`t have statistics, but btc is still cheaper than most of the other payment methods.
The only annoying thing is the confirmation time.
7982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hypothetical question about Bitcoin and a unversal basic income. on: May 28, 2017, 12:00:36 PM
If there was a plan to use Bitcoin as a universal basic income when automation and robotics remove >50 of the work force and you were on the team to develop a strategy to make this happen, what kinds of things would you suggest?

A major issue would be funding and how to decide who gets how much.

This question does assume it would make more sense than using cash deposits, what are some reasons you would argue why this is the case?

Don`t even put bitcoin and universal basic income in one sentence.
We don`t need automation and robotics because we have cheap labor in China and the third world.
7983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 BTC = 250x fees then you will remain with 0 BTC on: May 28, 2017, 11:56:53 AM
Wonder how many realize this. Basically you are feeding the whales.

At this time PayPal fees are cheaper  Roll Eyes

Paypal fees are cheaper?Don`t make me laugh.
Yesterday i received 31,45 USD paypal payment and the fee was 1,78 USD.
I use paypal only because most of the people use it.
7984  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin reduces unemployment on: May 28, 2017, 06:32:09 AM
I think in the presence of bitcoin will reduce unemployment, because searching for bitcoin also requires hard work and creativity, and competitiveness in bitcoin is also high almost similar to work in the real world

What is your opinion this time?

When you say "searching for bitcoin" do you mean earning bitcoin?
Bitcoin is not a hidden treasure and we don`t have to searhc for it. Grin
Btc reduces unemployement here on this forum, because of the sig campaigns.
7985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small fortune, now which country ? on: May 28, 2017, 06:29:07 AM
Guys, i made a small fortune in altcoin/bitcoin. In which country should i settle ?
I have no wife, no kids, just a girlfriend, i´m free to go wherever i want (she´ll go with me).
But it has to be a bitcoin-friendly country.
I have no intention to buy lambos, just a peaceful life.
Thanks.

Oh, and my age is 53, that makes a difference too.

Why not Bulgaria or Romania.Everything is cheap, the countries are bitcoin-friendly.
It`s relatively close to western Europe capital cities like Rome or Paris.
7986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The first bitcoin bank! on: May 28, 2017, 06:25:04 AM
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/global-digital-bank-wb-starts-accepting-bitcoin-deposits-1466103194/

According to this article it states that Digital bank WB21 announced that it has added Bitcoin as a method for its customers to transfer and deposit funds to their checking accounts. WB21 customers can now send Bitcoin to make real time account deposits in any of the 18 currencies supported by the bank.

This is the first time we will be having a bitcoin digital bank and as of now they are located at California, Switzerland and Hongkong.

Is this a good news or bad news, whats your say?

I wouldn`t say that this is a bitcoin bank.
It`s a normal bank that accepted bitcoin for transfers, because btc got more popular.
They just follow the trends.
7987  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin project. Can someone point me in the right direction? on: May 27, 2017, 11:27:42 AM
Hello, I am seeking some advice. I am searching for some funding on one of my apps. React Native app with a Blockchain and crypto focus. Any ideas on some good BTC lending companies to get some community funding? Or anyone here have the desire to aid with the development? Currently in need of a backend engineer for some integration help. Thanks!

Do you have any good business plan about how to monetize this app?
BTC crowfunding and BTC lending platforms aren`t very trustworthy.
I`m not sure that you are going to find investors. Sad
7988  Economy / Speculation / Re: whoohoo what a dump, now great opportunity to get back in on: May 27, 2017, 11:24:16 AM
What a massive dump on Bitcoin and altcoin, now is the opportunity to load up on bitcoin and altcoin, get ready for a new wave

1 think rebuying btc at about 1800-1900 usd

you think it will go lower?

Yeah, now it`s time for bitcoin traders to buy lots of btc.
After that massive dump,we are a waiting for the next massive pump...
I don`t know anything about altcoin prices and altcoin dumps.
7989  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whether bitcoin able to penetrate the price of 5000 $ on: May 27, 2017, 11:21:17 AM
When viewed from the bitcoin price charts it seems that prices continue to climb, for until the end of this year can be bitcoin penetrate the price 5000 $

Let's share your prediction here?

I would say after 3 months.
There was a price correction westerday and this rapid increase won`t continue.
7990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to find security in fiat now without banks and bullshit? on: May 27, 2017, 06:35:45 AM
So I have a large amount of Bitcoin I want to move to USD or another 'safe' fiat temporarily. Do people recommend the best ways to do this? What are liquid platforms that won't ask for my bank details etc.

This question is asked here before and there`s no good answer.
There are no liquid platforms that won`t ask for your bank details.
I wouldn`t sell my bitcoins right now.
7991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lets see how many of you are buying this time? on: May 27, 2017, 06:32:32 AM
for the past days (mostly brand new accounts) were asking for why the price is so high and when will it come down so i can buy after the "drop"!

so to all of you:
here is the drop you were waiting for, now it is your chance. lets see how many of you will take this chance.

i keep seeing the same thing happen. the most recent one was with the $1250 rise that everyone was saying iti s too high  Cry Cry then price dropped down to $888 and most of those people who were saying it is too high were still too scared to buy bitcoin.

and now it is above 2K and we are experiencing the same thing.

will you remain scared or will you buy this time?

I`m scared to buy bitcoins mostly because of the scammers, not because of the price.
I will never buy bitcoins,i prefer to earn them.
7992  Other / Off-topic / Re: Better bitcoin strategy on: May 27, 2017, 06:30:24 AM
Which better to start on bitcoin.

1. mining
2.trading on stock market/binary
3.faucet
4.investment
5.stock on your own sell on your own after.

I was searching and searching looking for any better ways to start and until now i don't have any firm answer where i gonna start . i really appreciate any suggestion from you guys. tia

I don`t understand "stock on your own sell on your own after".What do you mean?
Anyway, mining is the easiest way to start, but you need to buy mining hardware.
7993  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're reaching $3,000 soon! on: May 26, 2017, 12:18:53 PM
At this pace BTC will hit $5,000 until the end of the year! Every BTC holder must know this: you will own a fortune in a few years!

Is $10,000 reachable? I guess it's clear that it is!  (2-3 years)

Is $25,000 reachable? Why not!   (5-10 years)

Is $50,000 reachable? Harder but not impossible!  (>10 years)

You should put this thread in the "Speculation" category.
We can`t predict future price movement based on past price movements.
Use fundamental and technical analysis like all the other traders.
7994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pulling a crazy stunt for bitcoin on: May 26, 2017, 12:14:01 PM
When it's nighttime and dark out, go and post as many posters as you can with "Bitcoin " introduction.

I mean like every single tree in the city.

This is the best idea to promote bitcoin.
Also put such posters on every single tree in the forest. Grin
BTC will become more and more popular after every price increase.
7995  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible big Crash coming within 10 days on: May 26, 2017, 06:05:40 AM
Even if there will be a big crash happening in 10 days, I still don't want to sell my bitcoin, (though I don't own that much). Yes, possibly it will crash but as it crashes, the only thing I'd do is BUY, not sell. I strongly believe that bitcoin still has a lot of potential and I can wait few more years to see that.

I still regret that i sold my bitcoins last year.
I`m a total loser and i always sell my bitcoins at the wrong time.
Good luck, if your have such patience OP.
7996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirming the unconfirmed transactions. on: May 26, 2017, 06:02:12 AM
Let say I'm an individual that want to help the bitcoin transaction ecosystem.

Is there any way I could do so to help bitcoin users to accelerate the process to reduce in any way the maximum block height ?

There is for sure the segwit that seem to work for a couple other cryptocurrencies, and a centralised project called bitcoin unlimited that could benefit a precise pack of people around it.

Is there any other cases that I could do as a regular user, passionated by Bitcoin and every other cryptocurrencies, to help and move upward ?

Thank you

I quess that you don`t understand how the blockchain works.
Bitcoin unlimited is not the solution,it`s a part of the problem.
Deleting all the very small spammy transactions is the only solution for me.
7997  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ‘Unprecedented’ Bitcoin Boom Sees Coinbase, Kraken Suffer Outages on: May 26, 2017, 05:59:30 AM
Is this potentially the reason behind the flash crash that we experienced earlier today? It might have been a correction but by the sounds of it this might have been something that triggered the entire event.

It's not surprising if they had been experiencing record volume because the value was poised to be up +$100 from the start of the day, and the bull market isn't slowing down, so there might have been a lot of people seeking to get into the market sooner rather than later so that they don't miss out on the happenings.

The speculation bubble is going to burst.
OP you don`t have to copy paste other peoples articles in threads
just to boost your post count.
7998  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: If you had 50.000$ what Bitcoin project would you do? on: May 25, 2017, 12:40:09 PM

Say you have an investor who trusts in you, or you won the lottery or any other way and you got 50.000$ to invest in a bitcoin project.

Aside from gambling (could be illegal in some cases) what legally sound project would you start in bitcoin world (could be related to altcoins as well like exchanges or so) ?

I was thinking about a torrent related altcoin. Some other member did mention
this idea before.
Combining torrent technology with Cryptocurrencies has huge potential.
7999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Shut Down? Bitcoin Founder Reward? Bitcoin supply changes? on: May 25, 2017, 12:35:58 PM
Few questions here, i understand that bitcoin is powered decentralized across network by multiple PC's, founder is Satoshi nakamoto, 21 Million supply

But i am more interest to know

1) Will Bitcoin ever ever get shut down? Perhaps every user still mine the coin, but will a minor code change result the whole thing to be gone?

2) Do satoshi nakamoto hold a specific % of premine btc?

3) For the 21 Miilion supply, as it is open source according to some news i read. This shows people can actually change the supply in the code? Lets say currently most people uses btc-core, are they be able to change the max supply to 22Million?

Thank you

There has to be consensus about "minor code" changes.
Yes,Satoshi Nakamoto holds a sertain amount of bitcoins.
If the people or core devs could play around with bitcoin supply, then btc is gone.
8000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction confirmed within 20 minutes on: May 25, 2017, 12:32:04 PM
OK with all the posts about transactions fees and transaction holds etc .. thought I'd post my experience ..

I have just transferred 2 Bitcoin from my Kraken trading account to my blockchain wallet ... cost of transaction: 0.0005 bitcoin so actual coins received in wallet 1.9995 ... 4 confirmations received within 20 minutes (19 minutes to be exact)

Personally I was expecting maybe a day for the transaction to be completed lol (especially with all the scary posts on the forum) so 20 minutes was pleasantly surprising.

I have one 0.00448 btc transaction which still has 0 confirmations after 72 hours.
You are lucky....
I can`t use my bitcoins for anything, rigth now.
