Hi, needing some help with my desktop wallet (Windows 64 bit)
I can't get the wallet to open - due to "MinGW Runtime Assertion" box that pops up. It says "Assertion failed!..."
I also just realized that I probably need to update the wallet. (I've got 2.2.0.0). Would this be the reason for the Assertion failed?
I downloaded the latest version.
Now what? I haven't even opened the file because I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.
I'd be grateful for some help from any of you experts out there. Thank you!
Yes, you must update to 2.4.0.0. If you still her the Runtime error, do this: 1. Stop/shutdown your wallet client if it is running. 2. Go to %appdata%/solaris/ (Open your file explorer and type that into the path field) 3. Delete all files and folders EXCEPT wallet.dat (Back-up this file somewhere safe as well), solaris.conf and masternode.conf (I REPEAT, DO NOT DELETE wallet.dat, solaris.conf and masternode.conf) 4. Start your wallet client and let it sync, your balance will be visible when you are synced.

It's a great coin if you're one of the whales of the coin. Did you ever think about looking at the wealth distribution chart? https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xlr/#!rich It gives an idea as to how the coins are actually distributed. Top 1000 1,100,404 XLR 96.23 % So like 1000 "rich" people own most of XLR, what does it tell us? This coin is nowhere near popular. Going into POS is like suicide. If nobody wants to even mine it during POW stage, who is going to buy or trade it afterwards? Look at the wallets, 1000+ XLR - these are mostly masternodes. People invested around 7-10 thousand dollars in the hope of making money. That's it. You have almost NO consumers - small investors or miners who believe in using this coin for something. Compared to other coin projects, it's a sad story. At most it will come out to be a small money-laundering business. Oh wait, zXLR is not even working now, so scratch that out. This is such a thought-less comment. You need to inform yourself a bit more before throwing out unfounded accusations of "money-laundering". XLR distribution is equal, or better, than most other Masternode coins. For example, let's look at these, which are bigger and more valuable than Solaris: Blocknet: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/block/#!rich Top 1000 4,900,471 BLOCK 97.90 % Phore:https://chainz.cryptoid.info/phr/#!rich Top 1000 11,791,869 PHR 99.21 % Monetary Unit:https://chainz.cryptoid.info/mue/#!rich Top 1000 123,941,961 MUE 99.82 % ColossusCoinXThttps://chainz.cryptoid.info/colx/#!rich Top 1000 10,258,194,150 COLX 95.06 % I could keep going with these examples. Now, let's also take a look at the distribution of the "Top" 5 wallet addresses for XLR: https://imgur.com/p51tSC9That is 213,223 XLR, ~20% of the supply, that you assumed are owened by "Whales", when that is not the case at all. So, don't spread FUD here.

I want to ask a question about Masternode: Is there any way to check and see why payouts are not occurring on my masternode? Its set up, its enabled, it can be seen on masternode.online. Hope to receive answers from dev team and members in Bitcointalk
Hi, how long has your masternode been running now? It can take over 24 hours now with the amount of masternodes on the network. To be sure, leave it up to 36 hours online.

Is there a reason theres no Issues tab at the github? Latest 2.4.0.0 results in: This happens if you don't close your wallet properly and the database corrupts. Go to your solaris data folder (%appdata%/solaris/) Delete all files and folder there, expect for wallet.dat, masternodes.conf and solaris.conf (DO NOT DELETE THESE 3 FILES) Open your wallet again and let it sync.

I made sure that my .dat file was copied and in the file on my computer where I opened the new wallet.
I was surprised when the new wallet opened up and showed me the amount of coins that I have.
I thought i would have to upload the .dat file first into the new wallet for the coins to show.
But the new wallet opened up when I clicked it on and it must have found the .dat file automatically???
Is that how the newest wallet works?
Also, since I opened the new wallet, it has been synchronizing on the same block for about a half an hour and has not moved from that block.
It says: "Synchronizing with network." "Two weeks behind. Scanning block 124757"
How do I make the wallet come to life so it moves from block to block towards progress?
Thank you,
G.P.
Yes, that's how the update of the wallet works. All you update is the .exe file and launch it, it still reads the old database and wallet files. This is absolutely normal and happens with nearly every wallet out there. But, the block being stuck is not normal. But it's not hard to fix either, take a look here to see if one of the solutions help: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DppR_YosSljL8mMrHTnkzcTLkiWQ357N64I1eeNmsWs/edit?usp=sharing Also, there is no need to tell other users not to buy Solaris just because you are having a problem with your wallet that can be easily fixed.

Well that was a huge bit of news out of the blue. You caught me by surprise, but in a good way, with that announcement. Is there any rough time frame for the exchange launch? 6 months, 12 months, 5 years... etc? While it is a little too early to tell right now as we are still fully working out the schedules and plans, but we expect to have a Minimum Viable Product as a Beta release in about 6 to 7 months. Public release with majority of the features to follow within 3 to 4 months after the beta. So, we are looking at launch before the end of the year for sure. Thanks for your support!

can someone simply explain what is zXlr ? i just bought XLR from kucoin and when i look here i'm confused. what should i do with my xlr? store it at kucoin or transfer it to wallet to get zXlr? i read first message but couldnt find information about zXlr
Nothing to worry about. zXLR is just a protocol level feature. All that will happen on the 20th of January, is that the feature will get turned on the system. Here is an explanation for zXLR: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DQ3HOkrW4AAvgQO.png

Has anyone done a withdrawal from coinexchange.io recently?. I did one around 14hours ago and all I've got on the TXID is 1 no proper transaction ID.
withdrawal in XLR? deposits XLR work sell so wallet is on right chain surely Yes I did a withdrawal in XLR at around 17:00 (GMT) yesterday and it says it completed but I never got them in my wallet and when I check the withdrawal the TXID just says 1, Never had a problem with them before they always happened within a few minutes. I did send a support ticket a few hours later but not have a reply as of yet. That's why I posted up on here to see if anyone else had any issues from around my time or afterwards. This is a common problem with coinexchange and many coins on it. They constantly have issues with Withdrawls, I had the TXID=1 happen to ETH, LTC and XLR withdrawls. Email the support and ask them to look into it.

I am reluctant to try and replace my wallet with a new one until I can acquire my private key or keys or the memnonic phrase.
What if I delete the wallet accidently? I will not be able to recover my coins without my private keys or memnonic phrase.
If I download the new wallet and something does not go right, I could lose all my Solaris coins?
Can someone offer some advice that can help me from losing all my coins during a wallet transition?
How do I get the private keys from my current wallet before I attempt to get a new wallet?
Thanks,
G.P.
I am in contact with a friend who just emailed the developers with basically the same concerns and questions I have asked. When the developers have responded, and my friend emails to me their response, I will post the instructions they give to clear up the issues I and my friend are having. People are watching this thread who have held back buying Solaris Coin. I am sure when they see that the developers are responsive and willing to help people who need it, then the price of the coin will rise.
Thanks, G.P. Type into the Debug console in wallet. dumpprivkey (paste your wallet address here leaving a space between the command and the address)The wallet address looks similar to this "S5s2VyEFv5UZubxkb2ovac42Voy95f1ksQ" Wallet addresses start with S Press "Enter" and then the wallet address and private key will appear in the console window Remember to leave a space between the dumpprivkey command and the address Write down, print and/or save the private key and you will be able to recover your funds from that address anywhere regardless whether you have lost your computer or password. Each wallet address had a different private key so you must repeat this for each one.

I want to have 100% confidence
Are my coins in a safe place on coinexchange and Kucoin before implementiton ZXRL 20. January? can I not worry? ----------- Dear Sirs
UNFORESEEN MODIFICATION OF A CRITICAL FILE
Solaris Startup SHORTCUT which gives access to my CRYPTO TOKEN WALLET was pinned to my WINDOWS 10 taskbar at the base of the PC screen. This was how I start SOLARIS CORE WALLET to store and access my coins.
I regrettably ran a Software Program last night at 11:00pm to clean up my ACER computer.
The result was the SHORTCUT no longer works. This is very serious as I have SOLARIS tokens worth $1000s which I now cannot access
The error message says that the Execute File solaris-qt.exe has moved or been modified and the SHORTCUT no longer works.
CRITICALLY I DO NO KNOW WHERE THE FILE HAS BEEN MOVED TO on MY C DRIVE.
ANY SUPPORT YOU can give to reverse this serious situation would be appreciated
I believe all my WALLET.DAT files are untouched. SHOULD DOWNLOAD the new 32 bit core wallet and then try and place the old wallet.dat files in the backups folder.
Any help would be appreciated I as worried sick last night
Philip - Sydney Australia
Hi, First of all, calm down. Secondly, go to %appdata%/solaris/ folder and make sure you back-up (Copy) the wallet.dat file somewhere else and safe(like usb drive) . This is incase your computer literally dies tomorrow, cause if you don't have that file there will be NO WAY to recover your funds. Then, go to solariscoin.com and download the wallet again, extract it wherever you want and run it. That's it. If you want to use the Shortcut, extract the wallet file to where the shortcut points to.

Is there anyway to know your Masternode is really active and getting rewards? I did an upgrade of MN version two days ago. Left it running for a night...nothing.
Today: Did a full new reinstall of VPS and Wallet on PC. Did wait for VPS wallet until it reached last block. Did the same with local Wallet....Everything is enabled and active. After 4hrs nothing.. Might be a bit too soon, but I have no idea if I did anything wrong (followed manual). Everything was running ok for several months ....until the upgrade.
Only error in debug log I could find was: GUI: libpng warning: ICCP: known incorrect sRGB profile.
Sorry you experienced a stuck block, there was a small issue with the network few days ago that caused this with a small minority of people. Sounds like your Masternode is working now, since it was a fresh start, please allow up to 24 hours to get your first reward. After that it should be working like clock-work. No other upgrades/updates are planned for the foreseeable future that would require to update the masternode.

No! Do not "addnode=" to solaris.conf . This is the exact reason why this stuck block happened.
The new wallet has extra checkpoints built into it to keep it stable.
I repeat, DO NOT "ADDNOTE=" to either local wallet or masternode
Sorry, by bad. Why would it do that though? I'd think adding known good nodes should make it find peers better/faster. Anyway, don't addnode everyone! It worked the first time anyway. Problem is, it is hard to know which node is good or not, and sometimes a rouge bad node can cause havoc like past few days. There are 6 checkpoints in the background keeping everything stable, wallet/masternode connects to healthy nodes by itself.

|
Yes. Use addnode on your own local wallet, and addnode one of your own masternodes, as well as a bunch of others you find, like nodes from block explorers.

To everyone who is not receiving rewards anymore. There seems to be a chain issue with a small minority of people. Not sure what has caused it, but it coincides with Lycheebit mining pool dropping off couple of days ago. It seems like some Masternodes has "addnode=" that probably belonged to Lycheebit and it caused the block to get stuck. I'm not 100%, but that is probably the case. First verify that your masternode is stuck on a block. Log into your VPS and Type: cd solaris./solaris-cli getinfoThen go to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xlr/ and check that your VPS is on the latest(or right beside) block or not. If you are on the wrong block (stuck) type the following commands: ./solarisd -stop This should stop your XLR server cd /root/.solaris/This will take you to the folder with config and blockchain files. rm -r blocksThis will remove the old blockchain from the system cd solaris./solarisd -reindexThis will rebuild the blockchain ./solarisd -start (I'm not sure if this is required to start the server or not after -reindex) Check this again: ./solaris-cli getinfo let it sync and see if it gets to the latest block. If it does, go to your Local Wallet and start the masternode again. If the steps above didn't help, easiest way is to just kill that server, wipe it and do ALL the steps again. Follow the tutorial/video and you can get your masternode running in like 20-25 minutes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Z3h_qA7N3-KMA1ECxyfDbBO-_lG7Hkrp_8Iy0s2iUMI/edit?usp=sharing

Long story short, I was running a Solaris Masternode without issue for some time on a Windows VPS. Today i screwed something on the machine and had to hard reboot. Now I have difficulty restarting the master node and I am going to move the MAsternode onto Linux for an easy life. Will the transaction outputs still suffice or do i need to resend 1000 XLR?
I would resend just to be sure.

Just wondering if the devs could correct the Masternode payments schedule on the ANN. The current rewards are 0.66666 / block the ANN says they should be 0.4 - not complaining just would prefer more accurate info.
This is solely because there are no active Budget System proposals right now, so the 0.20 XLR that is meant for the Budget System is split between Masternodes and Miners.
