If all your expecting out of mining is checking whatomine for daily fiat prices, then it's your fault for getting in for the wrong reason.

you didnt answer my questions.

Are these "normal levels"for mining ?

this is more a question for someone whos been around for 3-4 years, so you can take your 2 cents back

What the hell do you mean "is it normal"HuhHuh??

Its normal for how much the crypto market has been impacted!!!!

Where do you come up with these crazy questions?

How much were these servers again?

They WERE 700 to 900... They are now close to 1500 and even an 63xx CPU is going for a premium thanks to someone we know.  Heck, they are even being advertised as miners on Ebay now! Sad

You can get broadwell chips with L4 cache. P6300 and P6200 both have the same 128MB L4 edram that others were talking about previously in this thread.

Note: there was a change with the edram/L4 in skylake. There are also skylake processors with iris pro, but I have no idea if it will work the same as the other chips.

That was totally not worth it for $249....

I had a source lined up for $100 chips (ES Xeons with P6300) but the God damn Chinese are worthless to me and lied about having them. Between this and my PUBG experience I am beginning to hate them.

If you think that is a good value then you'll love the the new AMD apu's that are based on Ryzen with VEGA graphics on die. Only $100 for the cheapest one (Quad core + 512 VEGA GPU cores, unlocked CPU and GPU core) , should do at least 500 H/s between the CPU and GPU. In the least it would be a better choice for a rig CPU than a celery that will never ROI itself.

get your racisit bullshit out of here. You know my grandfather fought in WWII. He hated certain people because they made him kill civilians. Those people would put their civilians in guard positions with sticks in their hands. My grandfathers CO said kill anyone with a weapon. After they looked at the bodies they realized they were holding sticks. He hates the people that would do that to their civilians.

Calm down buddy.... none of that is relevant here.

I think 500 H/S is wishful thinking.  The 8 MB cache will be a limiting factor and I doubt the onboard GPU will contribute much if any hashrate as it will drag down the cpu performance.

Cryptonight will absolutely hash just fine on that Vega die since its not a memory intense algo.

It is possible it will make the CPU throttle a bit, but it is an unlocked chip and with a hearty cooler it may be able to run @ 4.0 Ghz + Vega GPU OC'd as well. True the CPU has only 8 MB cache but should be fine for a 4 core/4 thread Ryzen 3 2200G.

Who knows, ill buy one to play with and see how it goes. should be a good chip for a mining rig anyway. I got some $25 AM4 boards from newegg so it wont cost much overall.

I hate AMD with all my heart though, my recent experience with a Vega 64 (wattman doesn't even save clocks on restart... wtf)  and some Radeon 7870's has been horrendous compared to Nvidia which literally "just works". So we will see how their CPU stacks up.

84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080 vs 1080ti performance difference on: February 04, 2018, 07:35:51 PM
Guys,

How much worse in % 1080 is compared to 1080ti? Difference in price is big enough to consider 1080, but let`s say Zcash, what would be the differences in sol/s between them?

Thank you

There is a big difference. Generally 200 sols/s between the two assuming both are overclocked to the same general level.

If you care 1080ti can also mine Eth at 38 Mh/s overclocked while the 1080 (25 Mh/s overclocked) is semi crippled at Eth mining. For reference my 3 GB 1060's running +1000 mem do 25 Mh/s.

Most people dont buy 1080's for mining, especially with 1070 Ti's being a thing now.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vega 64 low hashrate on: February 04, 2018, 01:32:52 AM
Wasn't it the FE Vegas that had a hard ceiling of like 9000 H/s or something? Do you have any of those?
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: its -2 celcius out, and I think my 2 1080tis are warming my room, is this normal on: February 04, 2018, 12:26:54 AM

87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega 64 - Fan or Heatsink? on: February 03, 2018, 01:20:06 AM
Might be a dumb question but is there a difference between a graph card with heatsink or fan...? I plan on mining and im hesitating between 2.
One is Saphirre, (3 fans)
Other one is PowerColor, which is heatsink

really?
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cheap 1080ti £ 72pound ebay not sure if they are right but seller looks genuine on: February 02, 2018, 04:34:36 PM
At some point PayPal WILL ban you if you continue to buy into these obvious scams. You make them hemorrhage money when you do this and the sellers abscond with the paypal money.

This has always been a thing on eBay, people listing absurdly low prices for in demand electronics. Its always a hacked eBay account or scam.

You can not claim ignorance if you buy into this and at some point, if I were God/PayPal/eBay I would start holding customers accountable as well for playing a part in the scam knowing that it was too good to be true.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how long will the video card shortage last? on: February 01, 2018, 11:57:59 PM
Some guy on reddit said he was buying 7000 Rigs worth of GPUs.

Im not even sure thats feasible. I dont care how rich you are, established trading partners such as newegg come before some random guy with money.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I am rlly worried about my Vega on: February 01, 2018, 10:06:53 PM
My only guess 3 guesses,
  • There might be a thermal throttling. Have you checked the temperatures they're operating? Maybe they are too close to each other?
  • Something wrong with the drivers. Install the blockchain drivers with a clean installation.
  • You undervoltaged them too much.

EDIT: I also forgot to tell you that I hate you, I only want 1 VEGA 56 or 64 (Nitro+) and I can't find it anywhere. I've ordered it in 3 different places and hope for the best!

You gotta keep an eye on Newegg 24/7. I just picked up an open box Vega 64 for $702.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1060 getting only 15 MH/s on Ethereum?!? on: February 01, 2018, 09:04:47 PM
Hello everyone,
I have been running Dual claymore ( v.10.0) miner for 1 day now and I don't know why I'm getting only 15 M hashes (as far as I know I should be getting something like 22 M hashesh/s on this card). I have the 3 GB version of this card, any ideas how can I fix this?

Thank you for your answers Smiley!

Come on buddy, you have to OC your cards.... use MSI afterburner. +600 on the memory and see what you get.

If you have Samsung you MAY be able to push +900 or +1000 which will have you running at around 25 MH/.

All of my 3GB samsung 1060's run 25 Mh/s with +1000.

What going on with you buddy? Why do you start all these nonsense threads?

95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does nvidia itself manufacture GPU end product on: January 31, 2018, 07:32:03 PM
I got few of GTX1080 Founders edition ordered but it says from Nvidia not ASUS, EVGA or Gigabyte. Does that mean Nvidia also make their own graphics?
because one of them arrived damaged and ebay will not allow it to return (fuck ebay), I am looking for a way to see if it can be RMA-d.

The title of product says:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition 8GB GDDR5X PCI Express Graphics Card

GOing to nvidia RMA page, it asks for a authorized re-seller which I have no idea what to select.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/support_aic.html

Thanks.,

Nvidia does make Founders Edition cards. That said, you wont be able to RMA a card that you bought off of eBay that got damaged during shipping....

Its not Nvidia's fault your card is damaged, you'd be denied even if you were the original owner with receipt in hand.

I know it is not yet available, so it wasn't tested by anyone yet, but what do you think about it considering the specs available on the site (mining-wise)?

E: although 2.27 Kg ... wtf?

The fuck are you talking about? 1070Ti are well known in these parts..... get the hell out of here with this shit.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does the brand of memory on gpu matter? on: January 31, 2018, 04:49:30 PM
Hi. I have received some radeon 570 (4gb and 8gb).
Does it really matter what kind of memory they have? Samsung, elphida, hynix or micron?

If it matters I want to return the “bad” ones and keep the best.

It matters a great deal for Eth mining considering its a memory heavy algo that relies on a high memory OC.

I only have experience with Nvidia cards but having Samsung can make a huge difference. Samsung ( @ +1000) GTX 1060 3gb = 25 MH/s and Hynix only 20 MH/s or less.

My 1060's are Hynix and its not worth mining Eth with them.

Yup, ive been very lucky so far. every 1060 ive bought has been samsung. My best cards are HP OEM 1060 3GB cards, very unassuming but 25 MH/s monsters with a +1000 MHz OC.

where the hell are you getting $75 for a 7870???

the internet.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: January 30, 2018, 10:28:50 PM
You mean each server does 2200 H/s right? Why did you buy these when a single radeon 7870 can do an easy 450 H/s on cryptonight and ROI in less than 2 months assuming you pay $75 (average price).

A few reasons...  finding 170+ pcs of 7870s or any GPU right now isn't going to be easy or practical.

Also keep in mind each server is now a system I can *also* add GPUs into.

Sure, but at this point id heavily favor something with a 2 month ROI over a much longer term investment. Im also not sure what GPU's you can add but im sure there will be power and space restrictions.

But, more power to you. I hope it works out well for you.
