What are your plans for further development of both your coin and you Apps. What kind of Apps are being planned ? What will the be used for ?
WHen will the first demo app or full app ready ? Will it have android support ? Thank you.
Hey Lauren! So i'll answer this as best as I can with the information currently present. Right now the focus is almost entirely on the OSM app. The reason being is the app developed is real world operational and more secure and anonymous then things such as whatsapp/signal. Keep in mind whatsapp uses signal protocol which does not have protection against collecting/selling meta data whereas Obsidian has it already built in. We believe OSM should be the focus and we intend to build functions around it for most of the foreseeable future, unless outside devs join in and can start immediate side projects. OSM is government level secure (well, when the government doesn't screw up) and we intend to push it as such. Going forward thereafter there's been mention of STUN server and other such inclusions. The obvious steps are video apps, calls, etc. We believe we may have a beta demo out sometime in the next few days actually! Android is a huge focus. Our app is OS friendly and we do intend to have it mobile and accessible very soon. |

So the masternode take fees from people send messages? How are people willing to pay to send messages while there are so many other options are free?
So the fees on the side of the sender are minuscule and will decrease over time to the point of txt being free. With wallet integration we're talking amounts that would not be too noticeable to the typical holder. |

Hi,
just found this project. it got my attention because Mr Spagni (monero core dev, fluffypony) seems to be an advisor of the project.
just a few questions:
1) will people who send messages with your messenger have to pay for EACH single message they make? are those messages transaction based like sending bitcoins?
The payment side of it will be little to none for text messages. In the beginning it may incur a fee (we're talking tiny fractions of an ODN) whereas files will require slightly larger ones, though still minuscule to the individual user. As the user-base grows the fees will decrease. We believe at that time txt can be reduced to free.
2) how much "master-nodes" do you think will your network need in the future? and how will that affect the supply needed? (as i understood, you, the devs, will always have the decission over, if master nodes will be taken down or not - increase/decrease amount to be hold in your wallet. someone could think thats a -centralized- decission point)
Perhaps i'm not really understanding this question as this would make the same assumption across all masternode including coins. It's just an option for the coin, all of which are predetermined by the source that created them, as is the case with generally every coin. We would not just "take down" a masternode unless it no longer meets the standard to actually exist as a masternode.
3) you were developing the past three years your messenger. is there anyone in your team which has a blockchain development background? the whitepaper is very "un-technical" and more marketing based - so im just asking, because you are claiming to build a "platform" and not just a messenger.
One of our head developers (Blackstone) is a blockchain dev and will be handling the integration of the app along with the future dev of the platform itself. Onedev has a huge coding background and, though he is in fact new to blockchain dev, he is a master of languages and will be a huge boon in any part of the project that may come our way. He's actually handling the gen block as we speak. Shad has been involved in blockchain dev since 2013 (when I met him).

How do you obtain a masternode? Someone said you need 10,000, if you get that what do you do? Just hold it in your wallet?
Correct, you would stake it in your wallet and the coins would get locked up for x amount of time. |

Congrats Obsidian team! This is a very important milestone, now not the best time for ico, but i hope that this project will collect the necessary funds and will be a popular in crypto-community. I don't think we could of timed this presale any worse  That said we're really happy with the response so far and looking forward to building an amazig community and service with everyone. |

Yesterday 0.60% Obsidian sold,hope today is better.
Already off to a better start but we're not worried. It is a presale after all (ICO is in 4 weeks). As we release more tech and proof it will understandably get more active. With the current market it's reasonable for people to have trepidation with their $$$ but we are 100% here to stay. |
