81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinion on Cardano on: August 27, 2023, 02:17:29 PM
There are mixed sentiments about cardano but the recent Alonzo upgrade has finally made cardano a mighty option for dex and dapps. The low price of cardano too can be helpful in increasing the adoption of the coin for dex and dapps. But it has fierce competition from other similar contender like Solana, which has a much lower transaction fees compared to cardano and had a range of already popular dapps and dex. The market still has a large space to grow and the success of cardano depends on weather it would provide similar if not better features than its competitors.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you planning to accumulate for 2025 on: August 26, 2023, 03:14:56 PM
I already have some in my bag and I don't trust new and hyped things like metaverse, web3 and things and I don't even have an idea what they are how they works and what they actually do to create a value. But I know about a few coins that have actual utility or potential for the year 2025.
The first one is BNB, Binance is an undobutful leader of crypto exchange, dex are more hypes than real transactions. When the bull arrives most of the transactions would happen on Binance increasing the value of BNB. The price is currently low and I'm going to accumulate as much as I can till the price is below 250 and my target is 500.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If there was an instant transaction coin on: August 26, 2023, 02:49:51 PM
Ways could be divised to check and confirm from Blockchain at a quicker pace. As the previous user mentioned, Nano has a near instant transaction with a minute fee. We need many more of such projects covering every aspects of crypto. Completely offline transactions would not work for a long term. Just like in bank, you could freeze some of your assets to transact small amounts but complete offline way of transacting would bring more problems than solutions. The time ahead would be for instant transacting Blockchain.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spurdo the next pepe! on: August 26, 2023, 12:31:42 PM
A website like a mix of pin board at my school and the first html page I made in 1999. 400 Followers and 1300 subscriber on telegram. The project still has a lot to achieve to come close to pepe or pepemo. For a memecoin to get success, the project should be able to bring in a large number of people together interacting and an active team overlooking the response and feedback. A retro or funny looking website is not a problem but the project should be well thought on before the launch in order to achieve success. With 100s of meme coins coming every week, there should be something that makes it stand out of the rest.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Millionaire Remains Optimistic About DOGE Despite Significant Losses on: August 24, 2023, 03:43:05 PM
However, the value of Dogecoin has since declined, and it is currently Trading at $0.06378. This sizable drop in value has diminished Contessoto’s holdings to approximately $50,000. Despite this loss, Contessoto maintains his trust in Dogecoin and believes that dog-themed meme coins have a better chance of spiking in value compared to other meme coins. He points to the success of frog-themed crypto PEPE as an example.

He has no choice but to believe that there will be new round for his holding to reach for millions again. But I believe that he regret his decision by continue to hold it since if he sold it he would provably enjoy the money he earned from doge. But greed eats him and I guess he is now holding back waiting for another chance in life to earn millions.

We can learn a lesson from his story and we should avoid his mistake made so that we will not lose a fortune on bad decision we possibly take.

Yes selling is a part of investing. You should know when to buy, when to average and when to sell. If you missed the selling period you should hold or average. If you are much lower from the expected stop loss and if you believe in the coin you are holding, it's better to keep them as there are higher chances that it would break its own price record on a subsequent bull run. Dogecoin being a popular coin would be here for long and would probably go through multiple bulls in the future.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulations among the key factors that affect the price of Bitcoin on: August 23, 2023, 02:59:38 PM
Is regulations among the key factors that affects the price of Bitcoin

Price of bitcoin is volatile and any related or non related news can move it to a bit in any direction. Regulations do make it harder for people to buy and sell bitcoin. It increases the financial risks and tax related concerns for normal people. Even for a bitcoin enthusiast, it could mean an unnecessary hassle just for holding bitcoins.
I have even seen crypto millionaires leaving their country to a crypto friendly jurisdiction just to keep their crypto business afloat. But with rising tightening of laws in favor of tracking and taxing crypto, the world could move towards global approaches against crypto.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After more than one year, what do you think of ETH changing from POW to POS? on: August 22, 2023, 12:24:23 PM
Do you think POS will weaken decentralization?

Does switching from POW to POS significantly reduce gas costs? And significantly improve TPS?

Why do you think ETHW failed?

If there is a new coin that tries to re-provide POW ETH, will you buy it?

I found several POW-based ETH altcoins released recently, do you think these altcoins have a future?

Bitnet:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5459763

RETH:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5462043

I think POS is a better option and they should have moved to POS earlier. Everything that's going wrong with Ethereum is not associated with it's choice of algorithm but with the development paths taken and the pace of improvements.
I don't think a POW fork of ETH would work, ETH blockchain is already a congested one and the market won't sustain two forks of similar ETH.  I don't have high hopes for ETH either. They were a pioneer but newer coins are more capable as utility tokens than ETH.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why we need to buy meme coin? on: August 20, 2023, 02:16:40 PM
It's not a compulsion to buy a meme coin but if you don't, you'll be missing a lot both financially and being a part of the community. Unlike other coins with huge promises and plans, meme coins are simple, community driven and fun way to come together. If chosen correctly, they can make you rich overnight.Take an example of pepemo itself, being a successor to famous pepe coin, it has if not larger, a comparative community with daily participation.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Monero so unpopular? on: August 20, 2023, 10:03:05 AM
Privacy is a necessary feature in my opinion, but why hasn't Monero become a main coin?

Monero is hugely popular with illegal traders and criminals. That makes it a target for law enforcing agencies and buying and selling of it is made harder by the agencies and are not listed in most of popular centralized exchange. Even if it's harder to trade, it's still the most used privacy coin. Personally I, and most of other traders and investors don't require monero for their strategy as we have nothing to hide and want to avoid any unnecessary trouble with the agencies. Monero is a good coin for many but it's just a trouble for most.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you gained anything after the end of bull run? on: August 20, 2023, 06:38:06 AM
I had actually gained a lot on the bull run. My portfolio was over 10k after the bull. But somehow someone got access to my private key or mnemonic phrases and emptied my balances on different networks of more than 6K worth of coins. Of the rest 4K, I lost some in a few bad choices and currently stand at about 3K of portfolio, 90% of which are now on centralized exchange. I'm going to hold them and add more for the next bull run where I'm expecting a x5 rise in my portfolio.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: August 19, 2023, 11:22:38 PM
I would not like to close my doors for future opportunities on trading and investment. Bit there are few altcoins that I prefer not to buy as a long term investment. One of the top coins is Ripple. I don't see a future of it and it's continuously slipping towards failure. More and more promising coins would make Ripple outdated. Other popular coins I have less interest on are NEM, Polkadot and Shib. Solana too seems overhyped.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Confident Are you With Altcoin In This Time on: August 19, 2023, 12:38:41 PM
As they say history repeats itself, there's no doubt in me that another bull run would be a good time for alts. But with such large liquidity and supply, the rise could be less spectacular than the previous one and could be selective and differential according to the nature and reliability of the tokens. Floods of scam coins were one of the reason for the last bear and they would make it difficult even for the legit coins to rise in the next bull. Bitcoin surely would be a much safer bet than alts.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to tell if a new coin is worth investing in! on: August 19, 2023, 08:04:46 AM
If a coin introduces a completely new technology that enables a different function and is sustainable in the long term, does it have the potential to be a worthwhile investment?

It's personal intuition and a bit of research that helps making the decision. If something new comes up, we should ask ourself first is it feasible? If it's feasible, is it useful? If it's useful, does it have enough market to grow? If it has a potential market, we should analyse if the current team is able to lead it into success, does they have good strategies set? Are they even legit person with experience of the market. If you well researched the coin you are investigating, even if things go wrong, you won't be at a loss.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PYUSD a.k.a Paypal USD on: August 16, 2023, 03:09:14 PM
I have a bad experience with PayPal in the past, they had near monopoly on online transactions at a time and they disregard their users, held funds without issue and had a non responsive service. One of the reason why I switched to crypto was the uselessness of PayPal. And now as we have control over our money, I'm not going to trust PayPal for my crypto. It's their last resort on staying on business but they won't last for long.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the largest meme coin ever? on: August 05, 2023, 03:45:31 PM
Generally i don't invest memecoin as those are sounds like bullshit, always remain possibility to dump overnight with only one bad news. Memecoins you mentioned, some are still okey and some are highly risky. I avoid doge cause i heard doge team already sold their shares. Only elon shield doge and he can sell anytime. Pepe is still new. Rest of those are bullshit. So among those memecoin, shiba seems good. Might be efficient in long term with its strong community support. Building up its partnership with so many organisations which would make it go higher with time

I don't think there was any premine or holding for Doge team and the project was mostly a volunteer one. Memecoins might not have the best of reputation but they can be a good thing for people looking for quick profits, ones doing swing and grid tradings. People also wait for the memelord Musk to bless specific coins to rise. When you are wise enough to predict and quick enough to jump on the boat, you have a good profit no other coins can provide.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need a privacy coin that can only hide transaction amounts ? on: August 05, 2023, 01:35:46 PM
There are already some privacy coins, such as Monero, but they don't seem to be widely popular. At least not as popular as ETH, LTC.
Is it because privacy is not a necessary requirement? Or are existing privacy coins not good enough?
Or is it because of regulation? Or is it that privacy coins make the public feel that they are always connected to criminal activities?

If a coin only hides the transaction amount, will it be popular?

When I was using Monero, I found that for offline cold wallets, it is a troublesome thing to check the balance. You have to wait for the wallet client to scan a large number of blocks to find all transactions associated with the account. If only the transaction amount is hidden, this problem will be solved.
Of course, this semi-privacy coin is also more friendly to supervision.
Will anyone be willing to use this kind of coin ?

We can make such a coin but what would the benefit of it as people can track the transactions and reach to the start and endpoints where the cash is coming in or out in any forms. It would not be privacy focused coin in true sense. But we can name it so and with proper advertising it could be a hit. But it won't attract true privacy focused user and remain just another alts to pump and dump. Monero is not a coin for normal users, yes we can buy it as an investment but won't be suitable to use as a merchant coin unless you absolutely need it.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is Becoming a Crypto Monopoly on: August 04, 2023, 09:49:50 AM
Well they are becoming a crypto monopoly because of popularity. And it does not matter with the legal battles.

People still want to use the services. The CEO CZ now says there is 150 Million registered users on Binance.

https://bitcoinist.com/binance-records-user-milestone-amidst-regulatory/

It's not entirely a monopoly but Binance has become the synonym for crypto exchange for new users. It is larger than double of it's next competitor but there are several more exchanges that handles larger amount of transactions.
They haven't manipulated the market in their favor or against it's competitors. They have achieved the success purely due to efficiency and security of their service. It's about maintaining balance and innovating for security and customer service.
FTX was considered to be a good alternative for wholesale traders with their lower fees but the mismanagement of the exchange led to its demise.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Potential Threat to XRP on: August 04, 2023, 06:52:22 AM
If XRP doesn't have any advantages over SWIFT Go, then how is it going to take market share away from it, and how are the bag holders going to become millionaires and billionaires?
Why do you think that XRP wants to take a share of the SWIFT Go market? There is no connection between these two services and the similarities between them. It is like saying that Bitcoin is like gold, so it is not possible for Bitcoin to have a market capacity of up to $13.003 trillion!.

and how are the bag holders going to become millionaires and billionaires?
By bag holders, he means the whales that have millions of dollars in this currency, not the small investors.
It is difficult for XRP to reach $5 or $10 prices due to infinite supply.

Ripple is a lost cause as a swift alternative. It's not entirely decentralized in order to give it a point for that matter. It's neither privacy focused nor a completely transparent ledger. The delays related to swift payments are mostly due to the partner banks than it's digital capacity to initiate transactions. Ripple would face the same issues of taxes and source of incomes and it would be much difficult to produce the documents.
Cryptocurrency is and should be alternative to the banking system rather than trying to fit into them.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EXPECTIONS FROM LITECOIN HALVING on: August 03, 2023, 12:11:43 AM
There are few days left until the next LTC halving. I understand that a new huge milestone in any of the major crypto generally causes a positive response in the entire market; an example being the recent court judgement in favor of XRP that saw market responding positively. So, do we expect some positive response from the LTC halving? If yes, to what extent can this impact on the general market condition?

I bought LTC with the expectation to rise a month ago and now I'm in loss. Watching the charts, what I realized is whales bought off LTC up from $40 to $90 and than the news about LTC halving got its pace. I know it's a publicly available info but not everyone just keep looking for what is going to halve in the next 6 months. People also say that it takes 6 months after halving for the price rise to be visible and I'm too keeping my LTC and hoping for the best.
100  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Now let’s talk about CEX or DEX on: August 01, 2023, 08:33:19 AM
Which platform do we think is more reputable and have good track record of security? Does either of them have good liquidity?

I have had bad experiences with DEX, though almost at all times it was my mistake but it has higher chances of mistakes being made by users. At one point, I lost all the coins I have as someone got hold to my private key somehow. If those coins were on a CEX, it would have been difficult for any hacker to steal as it would have multiple degrees of security. Though there are some cases of Exchanges going scam, there are good options that are more transparent and secure at the moment. I'd keep my coins on CEX and make my trades on them anytime.
