81  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Traditional business or investing in bitcoin? which one is good? on: October 20, 2023, 02:08:29 PM
Let's discuss about our future here, since we talk about bitcoin all the time, I like to break that a bit and with some realistic questions for our future. We are all are thinking of our future, so I like to get your opinion between the two on what will you choose to secure your future.

If you believe in both, kindly elaborate on why you choose both and the potential impact on your future.
You can allocate portions from the profit you get from your traditional business naman. So even though napakalano nyang mangyari sa ngayon, eh posible parin.
So... divide your "portfolio", ika nga. Kaya both ako.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The zeal to invest in speculative asset on: October 20, 2023, 10:34:27 AM
Investment strategy one implement be it short-term or long-term is channeled for profit maximization. Cryptocurrency on it's own is a solid long-term investment, one which is volatile and unpredictable, which is also a speculative investment. I will say it have outperformed most asset classes in recent years; including stocks, bond, gold, and real estate. Cryptocurrency is the tomorrow of today.
The cryptocurrency market has outperformed other assets and stocks in recent years in terms of growth. I suppose this is due to the spike in popularity and accessibility. However, this doesn't necessarily mean it's better. Remember that most cryptocurrencies are volatile, which means traders and investors could lose a significant portion of their investment within a short period of time. Invest wisely, and one way to do that is to become familiarized how it works.

83  Other / Off-topic / Re: Skill Before Or After University Education? on: October 20, 2023, 09:20:25 AM
<snip>
If they are at the stage where they are already open to a hustle, it is believed that it would be great to try attending university while having a job (could be part-time) that is closely related to or is the career they want and plan to pursue. On-site jobs are probably one of the best experiences one should have, especially if they are a newbie; they'll learn a lot from them. T I just realized this recently when I got my first on-site job. Working closely with colleagues allows the individual to get new ideas from them, which, in turn, improves themselves and their career.

For a career-driven student, this approach is seen as nice, although differing opinions may exist. It also makes the study a bit easier as they can apply what they learned from their work to their subjects, and vice versa, of course.

If one cannot work while studying, then efforts should be made to upskill themselves, there are many opportunities available online, go into them!

Love this thread. IMO the OP is full of valuable thoughts regarding sportsbetting.  I second all of the thoughts you have presented. I am looking forward on having myself be able to think the way you do in this context. I am just a newbie on sportsbetting so I really appreciate this kind of thread. I might do what you suggested: avoiding placing bets on high odds and overly complex parlays, but rather, put single or double bets on matches that I am well aware about.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what are the reputable casino with vault feature? on: October 20, 2023, 03:14:14 AM
Stake is the only casino that I am aware of having this  feature, but I am sure there are bunch of other casinos that has this feature available too.

<snip>
These sites should actually give another password for the Vault to make it more secure.
Agree. It serves as another layer of security in case that the account was compromised. Perhaps adding a PIN, password, or/and another 2FA Authenticator will suffice.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 19, 2023, 11:57:01 PM
<snip>
How to be responsible and stay responsible? I think, the first thing to know is how to be responsible.
Identify your personal limits. Do not overspend. Try to be neutral (this probably is a preference), but as much as possible do not let your emotion control you, else you might unknowingly try to exceed from the limits you've set.

Too good to be true talaga yung offer ni Yexel pero dahil nga well known and social media influencer sya, madami agad yung nagtiwala.
88  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sherbet.com - $1,000 Welcome Package - #1 Social Casino - $15,000 Weekly Race 🤑 on: October 19, 2023, 10:20:50 AM
<snip>
Why Sherbet prohibits so many countries? Many other casinos allow users from most of those countries but I'm amazed to see that Sherbet is prohibiting so many countries users from using the services. I agree with the VPN part as using of VPN is unnecessary on a casino site and most of the casinos don't like VPN users because the VPN users are mostly from restricted countries and they won't be able to complete their KYC as well.
Most of the time, it's about following and obeying the laws and rules in different countries. Each country has its own set of regulations for gambling websites and activities. As a gambling service provider, they have to comply with these rules. If they can't meet a country's requirements for operating there, they shouldn't allow users from that country to access and use their site. Otherwise, they might face legal consequences. Sherbet is doing great on this, IMO.
89  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: October 19, 2023, 09:49:45 AM

maybe duelbits could create a costumer support topic here in the forum separate from this one but not sure if this would work

-
The casino cannot open an official customer support centre on bitcointalk as they do not have full control over it. The ANN thread for the gambling site can serve the same purpose where an official representative can answer the people's queries and also handle the issues reported.
<snip>
Contrary to what I believe, I think it will be fine to create a thread regarding that (if this thread is not enough). This would serve as an exclusive general support thread, but its value would mainly depend on the number of users interested in such a discussion.
Even though I see this idea as a good one, I don't think that it will happen in the near future.

What happened to Duelbits contests which were easily some of the most popular contests in this forum sometime back? Their multiplier battles were really entertaining and attracted a lot of attention.
It just stopped. Maybe it was not as effective as before in attracting new and existing users to play. But it was really fun on joining to such competitions specially if you knew that how reputable the manager and the casino are.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 19, 2023, 05:34:37 AM
Most of the grown up people do not live with parents. At such, the parents are not aware about the interests and habits of individuals. Do you parents know that you gamble ? What was their first reaction towards your gambling habit ?
I did not told them that I am gambling, but they can sometimes see it. I am just not sure if they were aware that it is gambling. There are times though that I think they knew and told me something about gambling. I believe they do trust me that I am old enough and I know how to be responsible with such thing. Anyways, gambling is not a habit of mine, but I do play a lot from time to time.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: October 19, 2023, 02:58:40 AM
I have often wondered about the people who have lost a lot in gambling and who almost loose in every gambling activity they participate. What is their reason or motivation to continue even after so many losses?
The only reason I can think of is the hope that the next bets will likely be a win, potentially allowing them to break even or even hit large multipliers. This instinct is common to all of us. At times, it can be negative, but there are instances when it can be positive, helping to offset substantial and stressful losses.

However, from my perspective, it's crucial for gamblers to take a pause and breathe if they're experiencing continuous losses. It's not healthy to persistently place bets. Remember that it's advisable to gamble only with spare funds.

For some individuals, the compulsion to keep betting after significant losses might be a sign of addiction, and that issue should be addressed.

<snip>
There have been a lot of discussions about this, but I still wonder if you attract a lot of people (or a new audience) with posting these giveaways on Twitter/Telegram? They are dominated by bots and you need to be extremely quick and lucky to win a small prize. You will get views as everybody loves free stuff but I doubt it is really effective.
Certainly, despite the presence of numerous bots aiming for promo codes, this marketing approach can still generate a "buzz" and excitement, which are essential for reaching new audiences. Additionally, to the best of my knowledge, casinos can target specific demographics that align with their preferences. Is this feature available on Twitter?

94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about trading feature? on: October 18, 2023, 10:27:13 AM
Gambling sites like Bc.game and Rollbit now include trading feature in their casinos. In this game we need to predict small fluctuations in price over a short period of time.
This is became my favorite game. What do you think of this game?
Do you think this game gives us some advantage/edge to casino? Because most of the time, prices tend to Follow a repeating pattern like Up-Down Up-Down in a range.
Crypto Futures in Rollbit have been available since the introduction of their casino here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm quite certain about that. I recall my initial thoughts when I first learned about this feature; it was genuinely intriguing, unique, and faced very little competition in the gambling space. However, I haven't had the chance to try it yet. Most of the time, I'm playing mostly with slots and live games.

While there may be some repeating patterns in this game, blindly following them could lead to swift losses. The game has a remarkably low house edge, but the higher the leverage, the greater the risk. Therefore, I recommend playing it with caution and a sense of responsibility.
95  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Spend Sats on: October 18, 2023, 06:03:13 AM
This site is new and I have been working on it myself for the past month
I plan to improve it and add many more services and shops
<snip>
The site seems to be decently functional. It'll surely be helpful for people who are looking for potential stores where bitcoin is allowed as a mode of payment.

The UIUX design has a lot of room to grow though. But I am confident that you'll be able to make gradual enhancements.

Have you considered generating revenue from this website? I believe it has the potential to be an excellent platform for crypto businesses to advertise their products and services, which could attract a significant number of them.

Welcome to the forum, and best of luck!

I can't help but wonder why you didn't try introducing Bitcoin to her months ago. My partner has limited knowledge and experience with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. In fact, we are both here in the forum, although she's not very active. Recently, I initiated a discussion with her regarding Bitcoin investments and savings.

I'm quite confident that the Bitcoin gift to your wife is something she will be happy to have. Congratulations on your marriage, and best wishes!

All this is evidence that merit system do not work and is useless.
-
I truly appreciate and commend your commitment to combatting misinformation, especially in health-related topics. However, as some other members have already pointed out, the merit system was not designed for these matters and is, therefore, irrelevant. Have you considered the possibility of applying demerits in such cases? If not, it means that, for now, no users can receive demerits. We should also be mindful not to believe everything we read; it is everyone's responsibility.
So to conclude, your claim that the forum's merit system is useless, is not valid. I hope you understand that. Once again, kudos for your concern; I have great respect for people like you.

If you ever come across misinformation, please don't hesitate to report the post. Moderators will review it on your behalf.
98  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Junket Operator on: October 16, 2023, 10:07:19 AM
I’m still confused what’s their main purpose but they are the one who partner with the casino to lure VIP players in the form luxurious offer such as accommodation and travel trips just to make them play in the casino. In return, they will get profit sharing on the total amount spend by their recruits. Casino junket counter part in online casino are those Gambling review sites and other that offers extra rewards such as free spin or other form of rewards which they are paying from their own pocket when player sign up using their referral link.
<snip>
The term "lure" might come across as somewhat harsh, given that there are junket operators who operate with transparency and integrity. They earn their income through commissions obtained from the casinos where they successfully attract high-rollers and VIPs, akin to how review websites function.

In the case of Yexel Sebastian and Mikee Agusting, the situation was different; investors directly provided their funds to them, not to the casino. This may not fit the traditional definition of a junket operator, does it?

I'm curious if they implemented a referral system as part of their scheme, but I haven't been able to find any news articles or information on this. Does anyone have any insights or information regarding this aspect?
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: October 13, 2023, 09:56:07 PM
<snip>
- Do you honestly think running a prediction game (run with my own funds) would attract genuine interest in this and not just shitposting quota?
- Would let's say 1-2 mbtc (per event, about one or two per month) be enough for people here to at least open a few links and take a look at what hoses are running and what their timeform is?
- Is anyone here actually gambling on horse racing?

I read somewhere that the number of people gambling on horse racing has decreased over time because of a shift in interest toward other games offered by casinos. I can't recall the exact driving force, but I'm certain it's linked to the current lack of interest.

I've never played it myself, but I do watch it occasionally.

How do you think horse racing can regain its popularity?
Well, I think your idea could work. We don't know how it will turn out but I think it's worth a shot.

You will often hear and encounter this advice repeatedly: "Beware of offers that seem 'too good to be true.'" Take a moment to carefully consider the logical processes involved in how the funds are supposed to be utilized. If the plan or proposal doesn't appear to make sense, it's wise to step away. Additionally, conduct some background checks. Search the internet to see if there have been any reports of scams related to the offer being presented to you.
