81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can You Memorize Your Recovery Phrase? on: June 14, 2024, 08:31:57 PM
Would you try?
Hahaha no. My mind has already a million things to think about, I don’t need to put any more pressure by memorizing something so important and is basically the key to my life.
Quote
What are the benefits? ... and the setbacks.
Benefits:
  • Even if you were robbed, they are not going to have any copy of your seed phrase as it is all in your head.
  • It’s very convenient and easier than pulling out a piece of paper when you need it. You also decrease the risk of exposing it to too much people.
Setbacks:
  • Obviously you might forget. Just one word will be enough to throw you off of your balance and you might the forget the whole thing entirely.
But if you are very interested in memorizing, I would suggest you do the following:
  • use a mnemonic or those silly little abbreviations that make you remember particular words. they are often catchy so it’s not as unforgettable.
  • you need a back up still and store it somewhere safe and check it from time to time just to refresh your memory.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the New "Coin Star" of Hollywood? on: June 14, 2024, 08:12:02 PM
With celebrities like Elon Musk and tech giants jumping on the Bitcoin bandwagon
Do you think Bitcoin is vying for an Oscar in the "Most Dramatic Currency" category?
Maybe the most dramatic currency is just an example but I don’t think it’s going to win in that category.  Wink

More likely it will win the Fan Favorite Award. Bitcoin has a very unique following of its own. The community has really devoted itself to investing and spreading awareness about bitcoin. Much like how would fans do in this category. If it were up to votes, I am sure bitcoin will win. Not just because of the celebrities but because of our community as a whole.
83  Economy / Gambling / Re: How high is the probability of accusations vs. casinos in BitcoinTalk are true? on: June 14, 2024, 02:24:18 PM
Very low.
There are ways to do this properly and that is directly telling it to their gambling threads which most of the gambling sites here created for that purpose and updates.
Yes, we should not easily believe those accusations as there's a possibility that it's just an attack on the gambling site especially now with the growing competition. I do find myself sometimes reading the replies of other members because I am seeking another experience as the post opener did. Sadly, most of the time none have the same experience and the poster is the one being blamed for his mistake.
Most of the posts are just attempts to destroy the reputation of the casino, which is why they choose to post in the gambling section where gamblers are more likely to see it. If they were serious about their intentions, they should have posted in the "scam accusation" board. However, since all they have are narratives that can't be backed by evidence, they cannot proceed and instead choose the popular board to mislead gamblers.
Yes because they cannot even provide concrete evidence and the funny thing is ? once they are being burned that said account will leave the forum and never come back again in which proving they are only here for ruining the reputation or trying to black mail each casino , action of not worth to listen account an that is what we have been seeing mostly from those  accusations .
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which casino would you trust more: one that requires KYC or one that doesn't? on: June 14, 2024, 01:56:21 PM
I don't  have to put names here because I also  have gambling site in my signature but what i do care is that i am not a fan of Non KYC claim because eventually for some reason they are mandating players to provide KYC either for security or for safety reason.
so i still choose the KYCed casino that I do believe  follows everything from the government and I already knew what I am facing from day 1.
85  Economy / Gambling / Re: Unreasonable Withdrawal Limits on Betiro on: June 14, 2024, 01:03:05 PM
All I can say is that at least I can say that any player who can withdraw money within 1 month has at least 500$ with a total of 15000$, which is not bad for me to be honest, rather than the other or just suddenly block your account from a casino.
yeah that is not bad after all because there are many cases here that the gambling site has been scamming players and giving nothing to withdraw  but here there are at least 500$ a day in which for me thi is not bad afterall.

And just like what others mentioned here, it is still really important that we read the TOS that a casino has in this field of crypto space. So, just wait for the OP or just follow the rules that the casino has; it's that simple and should be understood, and besides, he also has no choice.
But I think they trapped the player about the rules of withdrawal or at least edited the rules after winning by OP .
86  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Educational on: June 13, 2024, 01:24:10 PM

People do learn at the moment that they would really be experiencing those hard moments on which they havent been able to experience before. Well, this is what typical situations do happen into our lives
because if we dont have that kind of experience and realizations then we wont really be able to learn.

Some points from the message are good, but learning is the key, and we may know that some users can benefit from it, so we will make a safer and more confident space!
we have to commit mistakes before finally learning what is good and bad , but make sure that you will never make the same mistakes again
the problem mostly is that gamblers are keep taking risk and keep chasing their losses that brings them to losing more.
Apart from that, I think gambling can be said to train us in everything, where we must be able to have good self-control, including with our thoughts, actions and limits that must be set. because those who cannot have or control this, they are usually people who are addicted and lose a lot of money, and even experience serious problems due to gambling addiction.

If you're a genuine gambler, then what you should benefit from gambling should be more than just an ordinary fun with gambling, you should be able to see that you also have the reflection of gambling on other areas of your life and this can help you towards having a desired achievement in it, you may have to work more on yourself and develop on some other aspects through what you have learnt from gambling as being applicable to your daily living.
fun of course but best to try winning of course because this is about money thats why we are in gambling.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The real winning of gambling is withdrawals on: June 13, 2024, 12:58:51 PM
Whenever I win, I usually feel this strong urge to gamble more and also increase the amount I'm using to gamble. I do fall for this urge most times and the result is always disastrous as I end up losing the money I won with great pain and regrets. The only time I can say I have won is when I make withdrawals and possibly use the money for something else. As long as the money is still in the platform, there is a high chance of using it to gamble more. I decided to create this topic to see how other people manage their winning in gambling. If I notice a better approach, I will switch immediately as I don't want to continue experiencing the pain of winning and later losing the money again.
the title says it all mate , Have the same experience here like in Physical casino that when I still have this chips , i kept in betting this is why i go cashing out once my funds goes more than double.

I remember up to now I still have some small funds sitting in my casino wallets and yeah now I can manage to keep those there without the urge to gamble again.
Maybe this means I am mature enough to learn my lessons and knows how to control my urge .
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land Based Casinos in the Digital Age on: June 13, 2024, 12:39:03 PM
Hey everyone,

As online gambling platforms continue to grow in popularity, I’ve been wondering about the future of traditional, land based casinos. With the convenience and accessibility of online betting, will brick-and-mortar casinos become a thing of the past, or will they evolve to offer experiences that can’t be replicated online?

Do you think they’ll manage to hold their ground, or will we see a shift towards exclusively digital platforms?
Traditional/physical casinos has their own players meaning they can get attention on their own way while online casino also have their players
and trust me if you are a traditional casino players? you will not find the enjoyment in online because of the people around you and also the service from the casinos.

Actually im starting to get boring in online gambling now not like in the last couple of years that I am present in my favorite casinos? nowadays I am just visiting them once a week at least.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A way to be safe from Rug pull on: June 13, 2024, 11:54:48 AM
As much as the account may try its best to spot scams, they can only pick out so much. I went through the account and most of the coins they flagged as scams are pretty obvious ones. The problem comes with the not-so-obvious ones. There are many scam coins that look legit and may even be around for a long time and build a community only for that community to get rug pulled.
People definitely undermine the ability of some teams to invest a lot of their efforts and time into making you believe that they are a legit project that will be here for a long time. They do this obviously for more profits. The more they pretend the more people will trust them and spread the word = more profit for them. This is why there's really no definitive tell-tale signs of a rug pull project.
Quote
One advice I'll give to people is to always take profits. Sometimes, because you want more profit you can get rug pulled when you could have simply taken the little profit you've made home.
I second this. Don't be greedy and don't put too much confidence in whatever you are investing to!
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC mining pool question on: June 13, 2024, 11:25:07 AM
How do I get their attention and say “hey. I need more information about this” without pissing them off?
They might be busy so I think the best solution here is to express your genuine curiosity over the state of this mining pool. I suggest you learn things about the mining pool on your own so you won't bother this person too much and only reach out to them about important matters like an update to your contribution.

I would suggest that instead of contacting them at random times of the day hoping that they reply, you set a specific time where you guys can actually talk. Say once a week could be enough or maybe twice if you want frequent updates. This backs them up into a corner. Since you have set a specific meeting, they are now obliged to talk to you.
91  Economy / Gambling / Re: 👑🏆👑BITZ.io Cryptocasino| 5 BTC Daily withdrawal | $1.5kk lvl up reward 👑🏆👑 on: June 13, 2024, 11:09:35 AM

Hello bitcointalk!

There is less than a week left until the Bitcoin halving. The Bitz casino is planning to celebrate this event and launch several promotions for it. How do you plan to celebrate the halving and what promotions would you like to see dedicated to this event?

even what advise or we recommend yet your inactivity tells them all that you are not interested in advertising here in our humble forum , and guess what there is a scam accusation above me that you need to address and I think needs your team attention .

BITZ casino stole my 3912 USDT

-snip-

You can create scam accusation thread against them in this board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 check and read the pinned topic to see how to post scam accusation thread.
Although I doubt that you will get an answer from bitz.io representative since he has been inactive for a month already now.
At least you can also help the community to aware about this situation and if your allegation is valid then you help the community to stay away from this site.
By the way,
they are not even updating their thread here what more to  pay attention to  that accusation above   Grin
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think memecoin can turn into a token with utilities? on: June 13, 2024, 11:00:59 AM
so don't you think it's good to have such usecases for a memecoin like this? as giving holders more options to hold?
A lot of investors are angry at memecoins for being useless and occupying unnecessary space in the crypto world. If memecoins can incorporate utility into their project, why not? It will definitely justify their existence.

But I don't think all memecoins will try to add some utility to their coins for the reason that even if they are extremely useless, they still get some price pump which a lot of the teams behind memecoins all want. If you can do the bare minimum and succeed while doing so, why do more am I right?
93  Other / Off-topic / Re: what I use to think about husbands growing up as a child!! on: June 13, 2024, 10:45:07 AM

I don't really know if this is also true in other environment. As a little boy, I grew up with the mindset that husband must die before their wife. And this was supported with the fact that there were more widows than widowers. Even if remarried, the number of people whose wife died but remarried is still not comparable to the number of windows who is single or remarried...
 Widows everywhere, widowers few..

Not longer about mindset now, becoming an adult the virtual social cycle of more widows than widowers didn't change!!!

Is life designed like that?
What could be the reason?
Is this true in your country? (kingdom, tribe, kindred etc)

Lol, Wife must die first before us  Grin Grin

kidding aside , If given a chance to die? I will choose this to be with my wife as we love each other so much that
we don't want the one to be first , this is what we are praying daily .

as our children are already soon to be living on their own and we will be back together as how we started our family .
94  Economy / Gambling / Re: More revelations on the challenges of physical casinos on: June 13, 2024, 09:44:22 AM

So for me, online casino is the new revolution; it provides convenience, and you can play whenever and wherever you are, but of course, online casino still comes with cons, such as gambling addiction or what, so both have flaws, so it depends on the gambler where he wants to play gambling.

I kinda agree with  this. Online casinos is a new domain of my gambling activity. Heretofore I was a gambling shops fly and though those places have always mesmerized me I have never feel myself comfortable inside suffering the myriads of strange glances.

Now, I am gambling on-line, in front of my laptop display  with epy webcam cover acquired for this case.

Every era definitely has changes in maintaining the privacy of players and being able to avoid things you don't want, such as being noticed by someone's strange glances at you, or paying attention to someone's personal gestures can also be a problem for some people who don't want that. , so it's not surprising that everyone is in favor of online gambling.
Not everyone mate but nowadays it is majority that chooses this type of gambling though I believe that online casino is getting boring , i missed the traditional gambling that i need to spend time and effort just to put my bets.
but the ambiance and the people around gives me more motivation to enjoy gaming.
though its hard to find time going to physical casinos yet that is something that I am missing now .
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it have been possible to mine Bitcoin with cellphone in 2009? on: June 13, 2024, 08:18:23 AM
Given the difficulty level, and low sophistication of the code, would it have been possible to mine Bitcoin with a cellphone in 2009?
bitcoin was not as complicated as it is now than before. What was needed to complete a transaction was very little but obviously with how popular bitcoin has gotten now, it has become more complex and difficult to mine and you need very sophisticated specific software and hardware to mine bitcoin.

But don't forget that the difficulty level of mining bitcoin back then matched the capability of devices. Cellphones back then were not even as half as good as the ones we have now so I don't think it was possible.
Quote
Is it possible to fork the blockchain, and make a new version of bitcoin and the bitcoin software that can be mined on a cellphone again? Or at least a low grade CPU?
Theoretically maybe yes but realistically speaking, it would be too much work not only in the technical aspect but just about the community as a whole
96  Economy / Economics / Re: USA lose oil but will replace with btc and crypto on: June 13, 2024, 07:37:05 AM
I am not sure if it will be good for the USD because oil is an energy source while btc is a payment system. Btc is definitely a revolution but let’s don’t make it bigger than it is. To me, oil is a far superior asset compared to btc. The whole world needs oil for transportation but we can’t say the whole world needs bitcoin.
While bitcoin is definitely an asset that all governments should be looking into, if a government doesn't dip their toes into crypto they wouldn't feel such a difference in their economic state. Of course I think crypto can improve their economic situation but if a country doesn't get any more oil from their sources, the following events will happen:
> usa would highly depend on their own produced oil
> they might experience a reduced energy supply
> oil/energy will be more expensive due to lack of resource
> other expenses like food, transportation, and other manufactured products/services.
Quote
The Arabs see the dollar is getting weakened and they want to move away from it, that’s a natural reaction. The other countries should follow the same course.
I have an idea that other countries are alreadyon that way. BRICS is very keen on their dedollarization movement while third world countries who depend on the us can't do much because they are less powerful and capable than the us.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The main problem with ETH... on: June 12, 2024, 11:36:56 AM
It is common knowledge that the main problem with ETH is the high transaction costs,
The counterpart of bitcoin's transaction fees is gas fees of ethereum.

In ethereum, gas is what is used to compute for the effort required to make a transaction. There are several reasons why gas fees are high one of them is the problem of all cryptocurrencies with high volume of users: their congestion. Gas fees also increase due to the more complicated nature of some transactions.
Quote
and of course the developers have made certain efforts to minimize the costs incurred, one of the ways that is being done is increasing the network scale on each platform, Even though it's not optimal, I think this method will reduce ethereum transaction costs over time.
Layer 2 solutions are also part of the methods to try and lessen the congestion in the blockchain. for us investors what we can do is to watch out for a time where there is not much transactions happening or the price is not that high so gas fees aren't too high as well.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dream! on: June 12, 2024, 10:52:27 AM
I wrote to Vitaly Buterin, Nick Spanos, Justin Sun, the hacker Gummo, but only Vitaly answered and told me to buy Ether and that’s it(
If you have the ability to post and write then surely you can find something to make money out of. I know how hard it is to find a job but mate you are already in this forum and all you need to do is explore and learn.
Quote
But there is no money(

I understand that without money you are nothing, but I don’t know where to get it(
My advice to you would be to stop feeling sorry for yourself, stand up, dust off your sadness and actually start looking for opportunities.

You don't need money but you need knowledge and where else to get it than here. There are a billion ways to earn in crypto mate. Just be patient and never give up.
99  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Artificial Intelligence Take Over Bitcoin? on: June 12, 2024, 08:33:26 AM
To be honest, I've seen people talk about super/quantum computers that will take over Bitcoin and will be able to decipher the network. But where are they? maybe possible in the far future.
Even when the time comes where super computers are in existenece, it's not AI or super computers that are the enemy of bitcoin but rather the people who would be controlling said machines.

I think advanced technology can work in bitcoin's favor if it landed in the right hands
100  Economy / Economics / Re: Involve an attorney in your business dealings. on: June 12, 2024, 08:11:38 AM
I think it is necessary you need a lawyer no matter how small the scope of business we are doing. Perhaps in your country there are lots of good people who is willing to keep to the agreement without any legal binding. But in my country, you don't have to take the risk of trusting people when it comes to business. To avoid unnecessary drama, argument or conflict along the line it is good there is a signed document legally binding the agreement from the two parties. So that when matter arises the agreement will be there to make things clear and know who have gone against the agreement and who did not.
It is quite common in my country that two parties end up consulting legal advices AFTER one party did not follow through the supposedly conditions. Now it's harder for the aggravated party to fight in court because they never consulted any legal consultant beforehand and they never realized that there is actually some conditions that do not go his or her way.

To avoid such things from happening, no matter what you guys are settling make sure that a professional can read through your contract and check if there should be any changes
