81  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Peer 2 Peer Open Source Encrypted Text, Voice & Video Communications on: May 12, 2013, 07:22:31 PM
Interesting project.. but I'm wondering why aren't you building it on top of existing open solutions focused specially on P2P audio/video communications.. i.e: OpenPeer... https://github.com/openpeer/

I think the most difficult part will be the implementation of the audio/video engine and the always-present "NAT traversal" issue. So a WebRTC stack is defo the way you want to go, cos all that problems are already solved. Also, DTLS-SRTP point-to-point Encryption is built-in and mandatory for WebRTC.

http://www.ietf.org/proceedings/82/slides/rtcweb-13.pdf

Maybe you should take a deep look at P2P/WebRTC oriented technologies (OpenPeer, Peer.js, etc) and extract how they have solved the common issues for this kind of deployments (NAT traversal, DHT Nodes configuration, identity managament, etc), and then explore the way to extend it to the level of security you want.

I don't know if this helps, but either way... Good luck!

Thanks for the loads of resources, The only thing i can respond to at the moment is the NAT traversal in my notes the solution is to have "pings" to out going connections of peers that are labled as always on. to keep the ports open. I don't know if that is related though or not.

Good day, this is a quick one.
I need help building a relay which can be activated off a very low voltage, I'm talking 1.5vdc-5vdc range of activation.

We have some item's which presently light an LED and we would like to light 120vac item's with the signal.

I've got plenty of background in soldering and such but never got into the design side, So assembly is no issue.

A diagram and part's list for what I need to order off www.digikey.ca would be all I need.

Please let me know price for this design.

Thank You

All you need is a microcontroller and a 120vac switch Cheesy you MUST wear rubber gloves or you might die from electrical shock (even if its not plugged in) by the capaciters... here is a list of parts/stuff:

loose search terms:

Let me know how that goes Cheesy and if you need more information I'm a pro at this stuff, plz tip Cheesy

SPOTLIGHT Looks like someone generously added the bitcoin_get_balance function Cheesy
which i have added to the official library after review.

Thanks mate!

I appreciate your constructive criticism herodes; We need more of that here.

I hope its not too brash to say that I had over 80-90% of the requested prototype finished and that I shouldn't have bitten off more than I could chew to properly deliver to the client or perhaps would have been best was for me to at least ask for a longer allotted time line.

Cheers herodes you got a great idea and have one heck of a ride, I'm sure!  Cool

YEP! I think it could be more accurately described what I'm looking for as "ignorant transhumanism" haha thanks

I want to get my scripts shop tested more and post up more script examples so I lowered the cost to 0.01 Bitcoins for 3 scripts (6 scripts total) in one download. Heck if you don't need the scripts and want to donate just purchase the scripts and delete'em. All purchases help me collect data about using Bitcoin with websites, It shows that you want to support the project, and all data compiled together helps me produce a better library.

Were hacked....I maybe slowpoke.jpg but at least they claim they have full reserve...does BTC-e make this claim?Huh

For all we know this is an emotional fallacy, where the reputation increases with more "illusion of trust" while there is no hacking going on all while at the same time showing trust that the hacks will get fix.

Also you can simplify things by using my library (still in development but i always push out stables releases) http://BitcoinDevKit.com

100,000$ for something that already exists, amazing.

That made no sense

For the p2pcrypt web version we'll be using this, just leaving this here for notes for later

Okay so finally i got bitcoin client to run stable in the background so now you should be able to purchase the scripts the url again is
http://www.bitcoindevkit.com/examples/example1.php
scroll down and click "show practical code" only costs you 0.05 BTC for 3 scripts (alt versions of with out comments so you don't need to waste time to delete the comments everytime you need to copy and paste and we also give you "with comments" too so its like about 6 scripts)

To conclude if your doing transactions as a merchant face-to-face with zero confirmation times... your going to have a bad time

God Judges, Police respond, Hospitals Cure, We Act!

In response to terrorism across the globe, good happens with a community built for good. Give your self a pat on the back just for touching Bitcoin in a terrorist world full of scamers and fraud from health, to financial, we are freeing the globe from corruption, it starts with us!

I feel as if I just watched someone try to suck their own dick. Eww.

lol

Cool man lots of features it's missing but it's looking great so far.

It's true it's not hard to develop with bitcoin without a dev kit but it's nice to see that someone is taking the time to properly handle all possible requests and responses.  Once every API call is added it won't be "why do I need this?" it will be "why wouldn't you use this?"

Once every API call is added I could see the higher level functions growing into something very useful as well.

You can count on a donation from me once it hits version one.

Great to hear these inspiring words Keeps me going!!

I'd also like to announce that I've been working on a project/contract that involves BTC and LTC and utilizes a variant of the BDK for php well it seems its difficult to use multiple coins with the BDK even if they are the same API so I'm working out the details but the next updates should expect to have concurrency built into it some how.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A hard forked branch to accommodate bitcoin’s growth on: April 18, 2013, 10:19:38 PM
If a supply appears to be limited the merchants will sell things at a higher precision so instead of something costing 1 BTC it will be worth the amount of 0.005 BTC... if a huge supply of Bitcoins flood the market, well then it will be known that those Bitcoins are on the move now and thus I would believe the supply would balance out, so really the supply/demand thing is kind of old fiat tech stuff, i think with digital coins -- liquidity might be more precisely the issue... One day I could buy a computer with 1 BTC and then everyone hoards so that same PC will be worth 0.005BTC the next day. Once the hoarders dump, everyone can buy a pc for 1 BTC again but so what... its business as usual any ways, the market costs fluctuates and business happens as usual your just sending a different btc amount; its only because producing tangible things are linked to fiat so just about more than everyone cashes out of crypto currencies so that its a big deal for "insider trading" manipulation.

Also the hard forked thing doesn’t make sense you split the chain then your forcing people to choose which one to use, which if that happened we'd have to go to a Bitcoin accepting Bitcoin web site and not only do we have to do BTC address stuff it'll ask "Which chain do you use on Bitcoin? 1,2,3,infinity--->" thats confusing....

Broadcast it

100% chance you win the block (payout 1X)

Average: 100% of 1X = 1X

might be more accurate to say 99% (with networking latency propagation and all) but i got your point though Smiley
