What happen to bitcoin? going down.
most of the coin going down. or just a correction.

There are lots of opinion regarding the current situation of btc. They say that the bubble popped, btc is dying, corrections, etc. But like most of the people here believe, this is mostly a correction from the unbelievably huge inflation of btc during the past month. It is quite normal and expected everytime unusual highs happen and it has been happening even before so there's no surprise for us who have seen/read about this scenarios in btc history. It's nothing major so we can sit back, relax and patiently wait for another bull run in an unexpected time. We just have to believe and have faith.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Сryptocurrency Phobia - new social phenomenon on: January 08, 2018, 03:37:42 PM
The more various opinions I hear about Cryptocurrency, the more I realize that there is a new kind of phobic hysteria, which appears literally about everything related to Сryptocurrency, e.g. mining, trading, ICOs or lending.
In some cases people provide interesting groundings concerning Cryptocurrency risks and instability.
But in many cases their negative conclusions simply sound like: scam, deception and other "demonizing" statements.
I think this phenomenon spreads around fairly fast.
What's your opinion about it?

Mostly, those people who ended up with negative impressions about cryptocurrency are those who want to try it for the first time but ended up investing on the wrong ones. They were immediately discouraged to try it that they missed the chance to invest on the real deal. It's like when you tried holding something not knowing it's hot so you immediately dropped it when you burn your hands.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: January 08, 2018, 05:03:36 AM
Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth?

It definitely does. Once btc entered the world of social media, it's just a matter of time that people started buzzing about it that many became curious about it. Some started researching about and some just joined the bandwagon and entered the community blindly. Blinded by the words "money", "double your money", "profits" and "huge income." Although it is good that many people are reached and caused btc to skyrocket, there are some who took advantage of it negatively. They used btc to scam people (HYIPs, ponzi schemes, etc.) especially those who are new to cryptocurrencies and have no sense of doing their own due diligence. It's true that there are two kinds of people in this world, the ones who fools and the ones who can be fooled.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When you first know about bitcoin what was the price? on: January 07, 2018, 04:49:10 PM
bitcoin price is know over $11714.95 and growing,
share your knowledge/memory of the first time you know of the value of bitcoin was.
My first time knowing bitcoin it was valued at $200+. Smiley

You're such a lucky person, pal. I think I've known BTC sometime early in 2017 back when the value was around $1.5K to $2K. I know that time it's considerably high compared to previous year's value but seeing how in just months it reached $20K is amazing I can't even believe it myself. Back then, I didn't mind spending my btc since the value is still affordable. But when it hit the $10K mark I somehow regretted selling my coins and when the golden times (month of December) came I literally can't let go of what's left in me. I sure did sell some as a reward to myself but I made sure to control myself and sell at a minimum amount. And right now, I'll be waiting for more surprises from btc. Who knows maybe one of these days it might reach another all time high.

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which cryptocurrency is best to buy today? on: January 06, 2018, 10:04:37 AM
please anyone guide me.I want to buy cryptocurrency.
If you don't know what to buy, first, buy a certain amount of bitcoins
Second, buy some of your favorite altcoin.
Third, choose 1-2 ICO projects to invest.

Same opinion here. That's really how we can succeed in cryptocurrency. We need to diversify our investments and the best way is to invest in coins that you are confident (go for alts that are at least in top 20) and then make your research about on going or upcoming ICOs. Usually, those icos that are backed by known personalities or people from giant tech companies are what people are looking for. I have a pal who is very much into ico investing and he said that he is following McAffee. I think that's one good idea especially if you have less knowledge in crypto but really wants to give it a go. Right now I personally have my eyes on ETN and XMR.

88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dethroned From Top Position? on: January 03, 2018, 07:41:12 AM

The recent rise of the Ripple with its sudden and tremendous growth made some to think that maybe soon Bitcoin can be replaced form its number one position and be replaced by its centralized rival. Though I doubt if Ripple can really make it, if it can continue to rise and if Bitcoin will retreat further then it is quite possible. I might be sad if this can happen practically because i already sold my Ripple months ago and was not able to be a part of its bull run.

Now, in case this thing will happen, how will Bitcoin be affected and the whole cryptocurrency market? Will it be Bitcoin versus Ripple this time after the recent Bitcoin versus BitcoinCash?

There's no way that Ripple will take bitcoin over. In fact, I think that ripple will be facing a strong set of losses soon. People don't realize that it's centralized and that there's a guy controlling the entire coin. It's not really a cryptocurrency in that sense. In the case that Ripple actually does go past Bitcoin, I don't think it'll last that long. If anything, that means that the altcoins would have risen to a point that a better coin like ethereum or of the like would take bitcoin's place.

Totally agree on this one. Ripple being a centralized crypto is the sole purpose I never bought any amount of that coin. Being a cryptocurrency enthusiasts, we should all avoid anything that makes it less of a cryptocurrency. And yes, there will be major losses sooner than we expect in xrp since it is, in my opinion, being manipulated on a high level.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One thousand people control 40% of Bitcoin on: December 20, 2017, 05:26:59 PM
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-08/the-bitcoin-whales-1-000-people-who-own-40-percent-of-the-market

Trying to post a link to this article. Don't know if it lets me but according to the article 1,000 people control 40% of Bitcoin and they all know and are in contact with each other. A bit scary, that's a lot of control

I don't know, man. I think this article is more on a speculative stance and have no solid evidence for the percentage of the whales out there, much more of saying the are in contact with each other. As written in the article: "I think there are a few hundred guys,” says Kyle Samani, managing partner at Multicoin Capital. “They all probably can call each other, and they probably have.” As you see, his words are merely speculation and based on his gut feel. Unless he can name a few whales he personally know who really are in contact with each other.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank Threatens To Close Accounts Of Bitcoin Buyers on: December 20, 2017, 04:41:10 PM
Today Jordan Spencer, a client of Lakestone Bank & Trust, said on his Facebook account that the bank sent him a letter, informing that purchases and receiving funds from Coinbase.com is against Lakestone’s policy and the bank will close Jordan’s account if transactions continue.

Read more: https://hype.codes/bank-threatens-close-accounts-bitcoin-buyers

Have you left a feedback?

At least they sent him a letter before taking any actions. Some banks will just terminate an account without even sending any notice and explanation for the termination of their accounts. But that policy of Lakestone could hurt their market as more people are somehow connected to btc. I bet most of their clients who are transacting in btc will move on to another btc friendly banks as soon as they received those letters.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Christmas And BTC? on: December 20, 2017, 03:37:30 PM
I was just wondering, to those experts on bitcoin, because I have seen that bitcoin suddenly lay low in going up, and now even plunges.  I needed your opinion.

Does Christmas or any holidays affects bitcoin?
Please elaborate. Thanks a lot

I don't think that the Holiday Season have anything to do with btc's sudden decline. If you are following any news, it is believed that the news regarding BCH in Coinbase and GDAX have something to do with the recent decline. Although there are some people who are selling btc this time of the year for buying some gifts to their loved ones or to reward themselves, I don't think it's that much to cause the dip. And besides we've all been waiting for the corrections and this might just be it. Remember that everytime btc hits an ath, corrections is expected to follow.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop buying Bitcoin! on: December 20, 2017, 12:24:01 PM
You guys should stop buying Bitcoin - how am I going to fatten my wallet if the price keeps rocketing up?

What are we going to do when the Satoshi achieves parity with the dollar? Smiley

Haha! I thought I'll be reading all the negative things you've got to say when I read the subject. Well there are occasional dips just like earlier so there's nothing to be worried. But I still doubt that BTC price will decline lower than $10K as much as I wanted it to so that I can buy some more. The thing is, there are lots of people right now who are buying even at the highest price! Yes, most of them are newbies. I even saw someone in my fb group posted that he bought 0.02+ at $19K so he panicked when he saw that the value dipped a little. And all we can hope is for them newbies to sell in hopes of cutting their losses so the dip will continue and so we can buy at a lowest price possible. Grin

There are some weird accounts between pages 41-44 Specially those who are signing up for Twitter campaign.

I just took the time checking those pages out of curiuousity and something's really off with those accounts applying in twitter campaign.
- Date & time they applied
- Date & time their bitcointalk accounts were made

Someone wants to get all those bounty shares for him/herself hmmm Huh
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep Bitcoin, buy more or but something else IOTA, XRP... on: December 19, 2017, 04:15:04 PM
I was wondering that should I buy IOTA. As I have read about it. It's sound too good to be true.

I also like to keep my investments in Bitcoin to support it, but maybe buy some IOTA for its friend. Any suggestions?

Good thinking, pal. It's good to invest in different altcoins now but before anything else, do your own diligence to research all needed information in determining a good one. Safer to go buy in some who have good potentials and strong community although not as strong as BTC's but it sure is safe to find a good one. Just like the old saying goes, (say it with me) "never put all your eggs in one basket." And yes, it is an old saying and has been used countless of times but it is a good advice and worth following.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 on: December 19, 2017, 07:57:25 AM
The journey of bitcoin from 2009 to 2017 is very interesting. Although the stories of individuals(investors) are very interesting and motivational that how they initiated and what problems they faced at earlier stages.

In 2017 the number of businesses accepting bitcoin continues to increase. Where you see the bitcoin in 2018?

I say we're just in the beginning of something wonderful in the years to come. And since 2017 is the start for BTC's rice as it come to its last quarter, I firmly believe that in 2018 btc will continue to rise as fast as we can ever imagine. BTC is full of surprises and no matter how high the value it doesn't hinder people from investing some more because it is proven to continue to strive. I also believe that the acknowledgement will be widespread and the number of establishments that will accept it as payment will triple in numbers as more and more people are into btc and so the market needs to adapt.
97  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can I earn bitcoin using facebook, youtube, or in any social media? on: December 18, 2017, 05:52:05 PM
Hi, I'm a newbie here in bitcoin and I'm not that really familiar with the methods and strategies in earning here.
Since this is an open forum and I don't want to commit any mistakes using it, i will just ask and get suggestions if bitcoin can be correlated in any social medias that i mentioned?
Thank you.

Of course, mate! Actually if you are not yet aware, lots of ICOs here are having bounty using the social media and other platforms. There are some who offer to pay with their tokens but there is also some who are willing to pay in btc and there's even some who offer portions of btc and tokens both. If you have a youtube page, facebook and/or twitter with massive followers then you have good chances of doing bounties as the first requirements and basis of stakes depends on how large your network is.
98  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you regret selling your BTCs? on: December 17, 2017, 05:51:34 PM
To be honest, as you can see, the current price of BTC is just unbelievable, have you ever owned some BTCs before? If so, are they still in your wallet? You may be deadly regretable if you already sold them out? I guess.

P.S.: I have an price analysis for today as below.

I'm pretty sure everyone of us here have our own regrets when it comes to selling off portions of our btc. We know for sure that btc will hit high and we only need to have patience to see the fruits of our labor but never did we imagine that it will all be so fast like this. Back then I've sold some of my coins thinking that I can buy back again anytime since the price is still reasonable and I can afford to buy in some more in place of what I've sold. But honestly, looking at the current price, I'm not sure if I can still acquire a decent amount of btc. So yeah, I have a little bit of regrets but not that I cannot get over with because I've made good profits even if I sold early and I'm still thankful for it because I can't even get that kind of amount if my money is just sleeping in my bank account, right?
99  Economy / Speculation / Re: WILL BE BITCOIN PRICE 25-30 K END OF THE 2018? on: December 17, 2017, 04:16:38 PM
WILL BE BITCOIN PRICE 25-30 K END OF THE 2018?

I think it is possible. What do you think?

NO. Because it will be more than that. You do realize that we're on the 19K-20K point right now so to reach 25-30 won't take so much time and it might be achieved before the first quarter of 2018 ends. So, by the end of 2018 it will be way more than that maybe x3 like, a hundred thousand or something. Remember that we started this year where btc is only worth 1K. If the trend continues, which I'm pretty sure it will, then my prediction is fair enough. There's even some predictions of 500K by the end of 2018 but that's a different matter and I doubt that that will be the case. We might be riding a roller coaster this coming year. Let's see how it will all go.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there such demand for Bitcoin? on: December 17, 2017, 03:23:03 PM
One dollar invested in Bitcoin in 2010 is now worth $58,000. One thousand dollars would be worth $58 million. Despite more Bitcoins being mined, demand still by far outstrips supply.

Read More: https://cryptodaily.co.uk/2017/11/where-is-there-such-demand-for-bitcoin/#login

I'd like to believe that the demand is due to more people are starting to recognize the capabilities of btc as a cryptocurrency. The widespread of btc mostly because of the power of social media platforms and mainstream media (though it's not yet really that huge in mainstream media). People are naturally a curious creatures and so once they hear or read something out of social media platforms such as facebook and twitter they have to know about it so that they won't be left out of what's "in" even if they have no idea about it. I think we're still not seeing the full impact of it so I'm guessing we'll be seeing more increase in demands in btc which might lead to a skyrocket of price so we better prepare for it.
