81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: not even a scam on: February 02, 2018, 02:59:56 AM
Going by your post, the most guilty party moreso than bitfinex or Tether is in fact the US treasury and centralized Reserve banks everywhere, since they institutionalize the rule that sub-banks only need to have 20% of their "IOUs" redeemable with the other 80% allowing to be made up out of complete nothingness. That is, in all logic and obviousness, outright fraud. Why do you choose to direct your ire to Tether when it's a much lesser scam?
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: !!! Suicide Watch !!! on: February 02, 2018, 02:54:05 AM
I just can't understand why people put more into this than they can afford to lose. There are so many warnings not to do this everywhere. This is part of the risk of investment. I thought every investor would be aware of this. And even if you did lose everything because you put too much money into crypto then seriously dude.. why would that make you depressed? It's only money. Try meditation and come to the realization of the transient nature of all things. Our death is already certain, you should enjoy this short life that we do have, go out and explore the world and make real connections with people. You definitely don't need money to do that. It's something nice to have but if losing it is making you suicidal then you must look deeply into yourself, your life, and your priorities as such thoughts are indicative of a more serious underlying issue that has nothing to do with money. What's the solution? I already said it.. meditation and the realization of transience. You'll see how trivial and funny a thing money and all material things are then.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why is there so much FUD about BTC right now? Have people forgotten what BTC is? on: February 02, 2018, 02:36:43 AM
I notice a lot of posts here and in the altcoin section are talking about the end of crypto and BTC due to this or that. Here's the thing: BTC has had negative press since its creation. Many countries have issued press releases that they're banning cryptocurrencies, BTC, exchanges, or something similar. As any investor that has been in the game for more than a couple of months should know: bad news about banning bitcoin is a regular occurrence and is to be expected!. It existed when Bitcoin was $80, $1000, and it will certainly exist even more as it is $10k.

It makes me wonder whether people here on this forum and investors generally understand what the purpose of blockchain technology is. The entire purpose of it is to create a trustless system that cannot be shut down by government. You see, I thought this was basic common knowledge, but it seems from a lot of the posts here that people are unaware of this. Perhaps there's too many speculators that have recently entered into the market here only hoping to make a quick buck without understanding what their investment is. They don't understand that government opinion is irrelevant to the success or failure of blockchain because decentralized blockchains cannot be shutdown.

What is the most recent craze? Is it South Korea banning crypto? Or India this time? When will investors here understand that the blockchain does not have any central location whereby it can be shut down. I suggest everyone that's creating topics here and elsewhere talking about the end of crypto to finally research and understand what they're investing in. You're investing in a future technology whereby the constantly changing whim of governments and banks can no longer influence your monetary freedom. Government press releases trashing or banning crypto should be taken as good signs that very powerful centralized and corrupt institutions are starting to see your investment as a serious threat. Because if you are going to be part of the new elite, you should grow some balls and accept that the current establishment won't be happy that you can retain value they can't control, they'll do everything and say anything to make you part with your investment. Do you think power with the transfer of wealth comes with feel-good vibes from the elite you're taking it away from? It doesn't. Consider all these attempts good news that blockchain is working and the current establishment is threatened, but never think for a moment your investment can actually be shut down, because it cannot.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Its over guys on: February 02, 2018, 02:24:11 AM
This year cryptos will goto oblivion. End of days.

India's unfavorable crypto stance and more countries to follow.

I warned you people 2 weeks ago, still there is time. Get out of this with minimum losses.

You should look at the crypto chart monthly instead of daily. You'd see that compared to a few months ago crypto is very much in a heavy boom. You are the same sort of person that said it was over when Bitcoin crashed to $80 a few years ago. Who cares about Indian news? There will always be negative news articles about BTC. This is to be expected.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 50k$ in which coin would make you a millionaire in 1-2 years? on: February 02, 2018, 02:22:14 AM
Honestly I believe another bull run will occur soon sometime this year. A lot of the altcoin platforms are finally released Q2-Q4 and this will reignite interest in crypto for many investors. Therefore to answer your question, I believe if you picked any of the top 20 market cap coins right now and put 50k into them, they'd probably be worth a million within 2 years at the most.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you buy Bitcoin in the present market conditions? on: February 02, 2018, 02:18:45 AM
I think Bitcoin will continue downward until about $8k. There is a lot of negative news hitting right now. However, I wouldn't short Bitcoin because at any moment segwit2x can be announced, along with lightning network and atomic swaps.

It's funny isn't it? How a bit of negative news shakes off so many investors. I mean this is technology that is DESIGNED to disrupt the financial industry and government control, so OF COURSE there will be a lot of negative news as this mission takes place. It really makes you wonder whether these weak hands have even researched and understood what blockchain is trying to achieve?
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop or Fork asking Private keys on: February 01, 2018, 02:04:51 AM
As others have already stated, you should never enter your private key anywhere other than the official MyEtherWallet site for ETH, and even then you should bookmark the site to make sure you're not on a fake/phishing one.

Many fake airdrops will use some amazing and convincing excuse as to why they need your private key, but you must always remember that no matter what, it is never required. Everything that needs to be done can be done with just your public key - the private key is only for transferring funds within your account.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which alt coin will gain most value in 2018 on: February 01, 2018, 02:00:12 AM
Why make a list of only 10 or so altcoins and then ask which altcoin will gain the most value this year? There are over 1000 altcoins, and none of the ones in the list will be the one to increase the most. I'd say it will be a project that is launching this year but is as of yet not widely known about. Something like BMC or TNT. Real game-changing platform tech.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: February 01, 2018, 01:57:47 AM
Looks like volume has finally picked up again here. I think a lot of FOMO buyers right now too. Definitely a good time to HODL.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] [ICO] Puregold - First Payment Gateway using GoldBacked cryptocurrency on: February 01, 2018, 01:53:22 AM
Dear Bounty Team,

I am one of the original Signature campaigners since 15th January and notice my name is not in the spreadsheet. I've followed the instructions exactly as outlined in discussion with the Bounty team in e-mail and also the instructions I was told to follow here by yourself: https://puregold.io/en/bounty

Could you kindly clarify why I'm not in the spreadsheet and how come my 2-3 weeks stakes are not yet allocated? Also which instructions are we to follow, the ones on the puregold.io site or the ones in this thread? I've attempted to seek clarification by e-mailing the bounty team however received no response for 2 weeks now, so have just continued posting as per my original instructions on the website. Please keep in mind I've followed exactly all instructions I've been told to follow so far and was not made aware of this thread.

Also another thing: I joined the campaign based on the assumption the stakes were 1 for Member, 2 for Legendary (as is still the case on your website) - yet in this thread I find the stakes are completely different. There is still a big discrepancy between the two locations.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is this the kind of coin that will soar? on: February 01, 2018, 01:45:35 AM
It's definitely possible. Take eBTC for example, that went up initially with only a small 100% increase, and then a 1000%+ increase. This was also just a free airdropped token with no ICO. Same with EthDark. If you believe the coin has a future and is not just a quick PnD from the dev team then by all means, hold it and wait.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO speculation on: January 31, 2018, 09:08:48 AM
NEO has recently upgraded their smart contract capability, although until now there is not widespread dApp development. Hopefully as developers become aware of the benefits of NEO over ETH they will switch over.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Pump&Dump chat on: January 31, 2018, 09:07:33 AM
Pump & Dump is illegal. And if you do it I do hope you get caught. You cost innocent investors a lot of money by participating in such groups.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USD Thethers just unraveled here's the Crypto Meltdown on: January 28, 2018, 04:48:23 AM
If there is a meltdown, what are the odds people will flock to established altcoins?

Depends how much real world utility those tokens will have. I think if there is a burst, then all the speculative coins like ETH, NEO etc offering no actual value will fall, whereas alts that offer shares/dividends for some real life company will probably not crash. That's IF the Tether thing is found to not have their reserves to back it up.. they very well may.
95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dump will be over?? on: January 28, 2018, 04:09:42 AM
Why some people afraid of this dips while some are happy?  Those who are afraid of this dips are the weak hands and panic.sellers, while other enjoying this dips to buy cheap coins.

Exactly. I'm surprised how people can even be selling at a loss during a boom like this. If they just had a tiny little bit of patience and looked into even just a medium term window of 6 months instead of daily price checking, all of those weak hands would have profited. It's quite amazing really how nerve effects new investors so easily.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 1 Trillion on: January 28, 2018, 04:08:04 AM
Be careful not to confuse market cap with the amount of money actually 'coming in'. They are orders of magnitude different. But if you mean 5 trillion or so market cap then yes, that's definitely achievable this year.
97  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next ATH of BTC on: January 28, 2018, 04:04:50 AM
I think this time will be different since for the first time BTC has some serious competitors with other blockchain projects (such as ETH) which now have greater utility than Bitcoin for the first time (such as Smart Conracts). This isn't to say that BTC won't go up again, but that as investors we should always be cautious and not assume it will.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to decide about ICO ? Which ICO to invest on: January 28, 2018, 04:02:52 AM
Always go through the project details the company is inviting for the ICO and the team member of the track record. For this, you should follow the company white paper in details. Also, evaluate the projects long-term viability.

The problem is that not many people have time or accurate knowledge to to do proper analysis of the projects. This is why it is a main issue, given the fact that you can not evaluate every project since there are tons of them out there I see that many people opt for ones that creates the biggest buzz which could potentially easily turn up to be scams.

Exactly. The big buzz projects, like BitConnect, you have to be most careful with. If the projects end up being a scam or inefficient, then the entire market cap has a long way to go down. Low market cap coins without the buz don't have very far to go down.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Signature Bounties and local language forums on: January 27, 2018, 06:29:50 AM
I'm curious what other members experience is with signature campaigns and getting the required weekly post counts in local language forums? I have a friend who is interested in joining a signature campaign however his English is not great. Would he be able to exclusively post in his own local language sub-forum? What are other members experiences with bounty campaign policy generally regarding this? I realize each campaign is different but I'm just after a general sentiment.
