82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin core, (wallet.dat) on: January 25, 2024, 01:27:50 AM

Do I need to download the entire blockchain?

Obviously you need to download the entire full blockchain. Did you Bitcoin core app few mb but After downloading bitcoin core app than whole file 600gb didn’t download it. You need to download the whole file and then use it.If you don't download the whole file it won't open and work properly.  As far as I know it takes about 14 days to download the entire file.

Am doing it too:

83  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking a Partner for the Project on: January 24, 2024, 06:58:29 PM

First of all, Hello, we have a forum site similar to Bitcointalk. I am looking for a Web3 Expert or Investor where gift distributions and certain ICO sales can be carried out for the community through Metamask and other wallets can be connected.

Firstly you share your website link. Than experience person analysis your site than you find out your partner easily. And you find out partner investors and web3 two things are very difficult in this time. Otherwise if you find out a genius person than your luck is good. But I think your site must be good because it's like a bitcointalk. And hire a good developer for it.

But if you're an actual human being, it's OK to voice your thoughts here. The most assistance will be yours from this point on. Keep doing what you're doing and saying what you need to, even with your new account. I hope this is a gold mine of information for you.

Please be more explicit about your intended meaning. Would you like 10 veterans to divide the $40 evenly? Can ten individuals make do with $40 each? You must resolve this issue entirely before moving on.

We sent a message to the moderators, but have not received a reply (most probably because our account is new). If there are some reliable and recognized members in this forum, that are willing to work with us, please let us know.
It is always challenging to trust someone new because of the widespread spamming and the fact that the old Roy creates numerous new accounts to do this.  That being said, plenty of knowledgeable people are here to assist you if you need it.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Global Impact of Bitcoin Remittances on: January 24, 2024, 05:10:30 PM
I have a clear mental image of it and can see it clearly. Bitcoin transactions are a fantastic medium for financial transactions. Yet, it must fork over a hefty sum in transaction fees. For those who insist on doing things properly, this is the price to pay. This is the proper way to do it, but even a large payment won't motivate you to do anything. The Bitcoin payment option is preferable if you're going to pay an extremely large sum. It is inevitable that life will change due to currency change, regardless of your current thoughts.
87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The topic of Bitcoin's Achievement is charming on: January 24, 2024, 07:35:43 AM
Even though I've used BTC Achieved previously, I had yet to learn that BTC would reach such heights. But at the time, I was confident that BTC would improve. But could the query that emerged within truly get to it at a favorable angle? Then, after much research, I discovered that it would have a favorable position and be the only coin to outperform all the others. The price of Bitcoin was meager in 2013 when I purchased some.

Key highlights of 2013:
In 2013, the value of Bitcoin increased by +5,575%, peaking at $1,156 in December.
Highest price: $1,156
Lowest price: $13.30
The price at the start of 2013 was $13.30
Price at the end of 2013: $755

This is when my bitcoin arrived. It would have been better if I had held that lovely moment. But I was unable to succeed. I stumbled but didn't break. It was unimaginable then that the price would increase by so much.

I had yet to learn that I would get Bitcoin in this manner in 2024. However, I did what I thought I could. You'll be pleased to learn that I succeeded in this circular game by honing my cunning. Even though I had previously received Bitcoin, this time was different. Right now, my passion is fulfilled. I also own bitcoin. I hope, something extraordinary will come from this, and I hope for something lovely in 2024.
I want to talk to people who received Bitcoin and hear their emotions.

The most important thing to remember is that everything is achievable with the correct talent and hard work. I did as I knew I could.
Because we had a long journey together, I shared my good times and good news with you.
However, you'll accomplish something worthwhile later on. Greetings and best wishes to all.
Ultimately, I am grateful that this forum helped me find and learn things I didn't know or needed to know when I needed to. Here, after posing questions, more experienced members gracefully express their opinions. I will always appreciate this forum.

I also received three Bitcoins in small form from the 2013 giveaway. I find it surprising when I consider it.

Always keep your holding hidden Grin
Thank You

91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2024; What are your opinions? on: January 21, 2024, 07:26:27 PM
Considering the increasing interest from institutional investors, what impact do you think it will have on the overall value and perception of Bitcoin in 2024?
I for one, personally think that Institutional investors have the potential to significantly impact the value and perception of Bitcoin in 2024. Their involvement brings more legitimacy and stability to the market, which can attract more investors and increase overall confidence in Bitcoin. As institutional adoption grows, it could potentially lead to a higher demand for Bitcoin, driving up its value. It's an exciting development that could shape the future of Bitcoin!
What do you think?
I saw another post of the same type.  I don't know there is any need to create new post again and again for the same type of post.  It's not really necessary.

92  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your expectations for the few weeks after the halving period? on: January 21, 2024, 04:41:24 PM
There is so much expectation about the bitcoin Halving, and it has even attracted many investors to bitcoins who want to be able to profit from bitcoins after the halving. What is expected to happen during the halving?
Bitcoin halving halves miners' payments for adding new blocks to the blockchain. This happens every four years, or after 210,000 blocks are mined. The halving regulates bitcoin issuance by gradually lowering the supply until 21 million is reached.
When discussing Bitcoin halving, it's essential to recognise the market's speculative nature. Past trends can provide insights, but market factors can change results. Cryptocurrency investors must do research, be cautious, and understand the risks.

It is expected for bitcoin to set a new All time high price. After the Halving, what do you think may happen?
A Bitcoin halving, which halves coin issuance, is expected to set a new record high. A reduced supply of new bitcoins and rising demand can boost price momentum. This combination has increased investors' interest and market optimism, which could push Bitcoin prices to new highs.

Do you think that the number of sellers will increase after the halving, sellers of bitcoins from people who want to cash out on the profit they have made?
Experts and enthusiasts speculate how Bitcoin's much-anticipated halving event will affect the cryptocurrency market. The halving of the bitcoin supply has raised questions about whether more sellers will try to profit from their sales. Many investors and traders are talking about halving, and since the last two halvings caused price increases, interest is high.

Or do you think there will be a reduction in interest of buying bitcoins because of it already very high value that new investors will know they cannot profit from anytime soon?
Expectation is a common question about Bitcoin halving events and investor interest. The lower payout for miners may reinforce the scarcity narrative, attracting new investors hoping to profit from a limited supply. However, the current high valuation of Bitcoin may deter novice investors who fear missing out on significant immediate gains. Predicting post-halving market dynamics is complicated because the debate is over whether a shrinking supply will outweigh concerns about the high value.

Thanks

94  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: January 20, 2024, 06:35:32 PM
Although Bitcoin is called a "digital currency," some people and businesses need licences to use it legally and compliantly.

  • Digital currencies like Bitcoin are government-controlled. These groups enforce AML and KYC laws when people buy and sell cryptocurrencies. Obtaining a licence shows that some groups take these rules seriously.
  • Licencing protects consumers by requiring cryptocurrency businesses to follow rules. Stopping fraud, protecting customer funds, and resolving disputes can help the cryptocurrency industry gain trust.
  • Licencing bodies require cryptocurrency businesses to take security measures to prevent theft, fraud, and hacking. These standards help businesses protect their clients' assets and operate safely. They can implement strong security and conduct regular audits.
  • A cryptocurrency licence can help a business gain recognition. This recognition can attract investors, make partnerships easier, and provide financial services to licenced businesses.

Remember that cryptocurrency laws vary by location. Some countries have licencing systems, while others are still creating them. Individuals and businesses should consult lawyers to determine local business rules.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: January 20, 2024, 03:58:01 AM
The Bull Run cryptocurrency market is around the corner, while waiting for Bitcoin halving to take place and is the right time to buy as many alt-coins as you can, including Bitcoin. Note before investing any alt-coins make sure you make your research properly to avoid loses.
The timing of altcoin investments depends on your risk tolerance and market analysis. Some investors prefer entering the market before Bitcoin halving, anticipating increased attention and potential altcoin gains. However, it's essential to research individual projects and market conditions to make informed decisions, whether investing now or during the halving period.

I started downloading Bitcoin Core today. It appears that it will be very late because of how slowly my network is operating here, but it should be fine in a while. It might crash very soon, though.

98  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New GekkoScience product, the Smart Hub on: January 19, 2024, 05:29:00 PM
I think the SmartHub is great!!! Is it possible to incorporate the SSH cgminer display into the website?
Your praise of SmartHub makes me happy! But I need more details about your request. We assume you want to embed the SSH cgminer display on a webpage. you read some point:

  • Websites displaying SSH information pose security risks. SSH is a secure protocol for remote system access; posting details online is risky. Use authentication and encryption to protect sensitive data.
  • Check if cgminer has a web-based API or another way to get data. Many programmes offer APIs for data access, which is safer than revealing SSH credentials.
  • Web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript will be needed to create a user interface for displaying cgminer information if you proceed. A server-side technology like Node.js, Python, or PHP may be needed to manage cgminer instance-website communication.
  • Enforce access controls to restrict website cgminer information to authorised users.

Providing a step-by-step tutorial without knowing your setup and requirements is difficult. If cgminer has an API, you could use web technologies to create a dashboard or display relevant data on your website. Security is paramount when handling sensitive data and SSH.

Would it also be possible to integrate the bgminer into a screen process for the Moomlander II and have it displayed on the dashboard?
It is technically possible to integrate bgminer into a Moonlander II screen process and display it on a dashboard, but there are a few steps and things to take into account.
-Screen Process:
Use a tool like 'screen'or 'tmux' to run bgminer in a detached session. This allows the mining process to continue running even if you disconnect from the server.
Example with 'screen':
Detach from the screen session by pressing `Ctrl` + `A`, then `D`.

-Security:
Take appropriate security precautions, particularly if you plan to expose the dashboard online. To manage access, think about employing secure connections (HTTPS) and putting authentication in place.

These steps offer a broad overview; the specifics will vary depending on your setup's specifics and bgminer's capabilities. Security should always come first, particularly when working with mining software and possibly exposing it to outside networks. Furthermore, consult the bgminer and Moonlander II documentation for any particular instructions they may offer.

Very cool little device.

Do you have a Git we can submit PRs to? I changed the display from "Million"/"Billion"/"Trillion" to "Mega"/"Giga"/"Tera" and could make that an option if others want.

Just a few suggestions myself (I'll probably edit this post rather than a new one each time I think of something):-

-- Adjustability of the screen and GUI to display 5min, 15min or Avg Hashrate. The graph doing the 5min is perfect though.

-- Shutdown button/option on the GUI for people like me who like to do occasional maintenance on the sticks/devices, saves potential SD card corruption. Then it's just a simple cycling of the power supply to get it back up and running.

-- Change of Currency option for the screen and GUI. (I've managed to do this, but would prefer an official update if possible).

-- Format of the "Bestshare" on the GUI eg, 1.756Million or 1,756,876 etc

Really pleased I decided to treat myself and get one though. It's a great bit of kit and very intuitive to use. It's also tidied up my desk a treat. No more 7" screen with a Rpi hooked up and cables running around everywhere.

I'm looking forward to the updates as and when they arrive  Smiley
Yes your suggestions were nice. Thanks for helping with such nice suggestions.
99  Economy / Gambling / Re: How Crypto casino market themselves? on: January 16, 2024, 05:47:29 PM
I am curious to know who are their targeted audience and at what age group. In general gambling people target countries like thailand more but probably this is not the case with crypto. Do they target nerds or total dumbs? How efficient they are between their marketing tactics?

It's crucial to use tact when discussing marketing and target markets and to refrain from derogatory language such as "nerds" or "total dumbs." Individuals participate in different activities, such as online gambling, for a variety of reasons, depending on their interests and backgrounds. Aiming to appeal to a broad audience, online casinos, including those that take cryptocurrency, usually use marketing strategies. They might concentrate on people curious about technology, cryptocurrencies, and entertainment or looking for an easy-to-access leisure activity. Classifying prospective casino players as "nerds" or "total dumbs" based on their choices or interests is neither accurate nor courteous.

The effectiveness of marketing strategies is contingent upon multiple elements, such as the clarity of messaging, the allure of promotional incentives, the platform's user interface, and the overall gaming encounter. Casinos frequently spend money on affiliate marketing, promotions, and targeted advertising to draw in and keep players. Depending on how well the platform understands its audience and how competitive the online gambling market is, these strategies may or may not be effective. Marketing strategies used by online casinos aim to draw in customers with a wide range of interests. Nonetheless, given the diversity of the gaming community, it's critical to encourage civil and welcoming conversations about these subjects.
100  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: January 16, 2024, 05:37:06 PM
I try to evaluate all the important components that contribute to a player's overall gaming experience fairly when writing in-depth reviews of casinos. To verify the casino's legitimacy and dedication to fair play, the review ought to look into its licensing and regulatory status.
It is imperative to research reputable software developers and carefully consider every game tabletop, live dealer, and slot that is available. With the assistance of details regarding the bonus and promotional offers of the casino, including wagering requirements, players can also understand the potential value of their gaming activities. You need to know about approved payment options, withdrawal policies, and associated costs for a hassle-free financial transaction.

Overall impressions are influenced by the user-friendliness of the website or app, the effectiveness and responsiveness of the customer service channels, and the mobile friendliness of the gaming platform. Important details regarding reliability and legitimacy can be found by reading over the terms, withdrawal policies, and industry reputation of the casino in addition to player reviews. Facts regarding restrictions based on location and aspects pertaining to responsible gaming are essential parts of a thorough and transparent casino review.
