81  Economy / Speculation / Re: The stable price action is driving people crazy, including me. on: March 01, 2018, 07:59:56 PM
A stable price action is better for Bitcoin in the long run. Much of the hype was fueled by the forks that happened last year with people all wanting free airdrops.
Collect more BTC on these times of stability.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JPMorgan Admits Cryptocurrency Is a 'Risk' to its Business on: February 28, 2018, 04:19:49 PM
They should be. It has always been the disruptors that will change the future of money.
Banks will somehow try to find ways to profit from it still.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Airdrops Profitable? on: February 28, 2018, 04:18:23 PM
Previously airdrops are good quality and appreciate in value. It is nowadays very hard to spot a good project airdrop.
Made some profit from airdrops - around 1K USD from 2 airdrops.
84  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think of North Korea? on: February 28, 2018, 04:17:01 PM
North Korean citizens are suffering from the current regime.
America should just give them freedom.  Tongue
85  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Your cryptocurrency biggest regret? on: February 28, 2018, 04:01:49 PM

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BitConnect a good investment? on: February 28, 2018, 03:58:35 PM
See thread. It seems too good to be true but so many people praised it to the heavens and back in the past.

So now that it dropped more than 97% and BCC closed operations, is it a good time to buy discounted BCC tokens? Roll Eyes

It was the biggest ponzi scheme in cryptos. Hopefully, the founders get caught.
87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk.org user loses $2,000,000 in Bitcoin on: February 28, 2018, 03:01:45 PM
Must have bought when the prices are on ATH. Still pretty rough to lose that much.
88  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Shapeshift buying vertcoin on: February 28, 2018, 03:00:28 PM
Hello, i cant buy vtc for bch on shapeshift. It always writting "There was an error creating your order, please try again in a few minutes". I tried more adresses of bch and vtc than one.

Why not try buying it from Bittrex or other major exchanges. Using Changelly can also be good.
89  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: February 27, 2018, 06:02:33 PM
It is know that bitcoin has made a few millionaires, but many of these people don´t have any particular knowledge of the economy nor business. Do you think that is a fair situation?

It does not matter. There is no correlation between riches and knowledge.
Some people get rich by being in the right place and the right time (you can call it luck).
Pretty easy for their investments to be zero in value today. They took the risk so I think they deserve it.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines is starting to accept bitcoin. on: February 27, 2018, 04:40:30 PM
Our country just recently held a seminar introducing bitcoin in our country. The said seminar were facilitated
by bitcoin experts and government officials in pursuit of using bitcoin as another form of payment and regulation of it as well.

http://www.wheninmanila.com/5-things-i-learned-about-bitcoin-and-cryptocurrency/

Wow, this is good news. Government is seeing it as a way to help on the remittances I believe since we have many OFWs sending their money from abroad.
91  Economy / Speculation / Re: I bought at 19k, now what? on: February 27, 2018, 04:37:44 PM
I bought 3 btc on credit for 19k about. What should I do? I am way underwater.

The answer is to buy more and do not sell. If you are in for the quick buck then bad news, if long term, still got hope by cost averaging. buy more at the current levels to lower your average cost. Sell when it is above or break even.
92  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Any idea for poor people? on: February 27, 2018, 04:03:58 PM
As we already know there are a lot of poor people in every country of the world, they surely do not have access to the internet and as the digital money is changing the world people are debating over the existence of real money all the virtual money. And as we know the government and the banks are printing more and more money which is reducing the initial value of the physical currency and all of this is going to be most painful for them. So now people are switching to the digital world so what should we do for the poor peoples should we make a system or let them take their life. I think if somehow we can make them literate then that is going to reduce the number of poor people in a country.

I think it is a good idea you have. Not everyone though is easy to teach the value of cryptos. People would finance or business backgrounds could understand its impact but normal people especially poor people are too busy surviving than learning new things.
93  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can i join two or more campaigns? on: February 27, 2018, 04:01:04 PM
I would like to know if i could join two or more bounty campaigns or signature campaigns?

I think it is possible. You can be on a signature campaign on one but a translator on the other one.
There are different ways to support a campaign.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: People who bought alt coins at/close to their ATH may not break even for 1 year on: February 22, 2018, 05:55:59 PM
Not necessarily true, but it is a possibility. Markets are having a hard time now but next December should be fine again. It is a waiting game, hodl almost always will win except for really bad projects.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Western Union is testing Ripple for money transfers! on: February 22, 2018, 05:51:01 PM
Super news from Western Union! They currently testing Ripple (XRP) for future money transfers.
Western Union Says It's Testing Transactions With Ripple

Ripple (XRP) proving its mettle. With more banks and financial institutions working with it. Should be beneficial for the crypto world in general.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs need to step-up looking after custormer token investments on: February 22, 2018, 05:41:08 PM
Just recently we have has news about ICOs that have reached their token sale objectives and have been clumpsy protecting their token purchaser's investment. This is nothing new, but experience from other ICOs should be studied and become part of security and investment protection procedures.

Examples:

Titanium Bar Token:

Just yesterday, they were allegedly stolen 16 million BAR tokens (most belonging to reserves and employees I think). Theses were then largely dumped onto minor exchanges, resulting in a very low price per token. The company has reacted and is going to fork the token (already!) and make TBAR the valid token.

Thus, a security issue which should be avoided by security mesures beforehand has led to a token chaos on this ICO. And it's not as if there aren't enough previos ICOs that have has to address similar issues.

Datawallet:

This week we have seen the Datawallet token DTX go down around 50%. The apparent reason: It was released to buyers really early and it got to the minor exchanges in a rush with a lot of dump.
This again can be avoided with a better and swifter planning of good exchanges and holding token release for a while.

Both of these cases are related to ICOs that have just completed their sale, done well withe their caps, and therefore should not be knee deep into trouble on token price at this stage. Market will be what it will be later down the road, but early stages can and should protect investors better.

Protecting investors/supporters should always be also on the mind of this startups on their ICOs.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told my grandma to put all her lifesavings in Bitcoin because you guys said on: February 21, 2018, 09:02:54 PM
it will only go up. She bought at $4200 Sad
How soon can we REALISTICALLY see $4200 again and upwards?

Looking back now. Since she bought it at the 4.2K level with BTC hovering around 9-11K, you have practically dodged a bullet that will haunt you. If things went south, she would have seen her savings go down the drain. Hopefully, you don't do it again for people you love since investing in cryptos is very risky. Well, it's all in the past now.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will NEO become one of the top 10? on: February 19, 2018, 11:06:05 PM
NEO is a cryptocoin that aims to be “China's Ethereum” with technological benefits. it has enjoyed some price spikes recently. will it reach the top ten in 2018?

It is already in the top 10. With the pace of development and the start of ICOs on their platform. Will probably compete with Ethereum this year.
99  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the reasons to support war? on: February 19, 2018, 11:04:08 PM
Can you explain what's the reason? You can say positive as well as negative reasons.
I think the most common reason for war is the urge to capture resources owned by another jurisdiction. For example, the USA frequently goes to war to secure access to energy resources.

Nations usually fight over resources and sometimes ideologies. But since war is an expensive effort (in terms of human life and economically), it is usually done to gain an upper hand on the other nation's resources (human capital, technology, natural resources).

Most of the wars currently active are the result of jockeying for influence by groups on resources. Some large nations also use it to keep smaller nations at bay and held them hostage to the larger nations whims.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH beat BTC someday? on: February 19, 2018, 03:08:24 PM
Is there any chance that Ethereum will cost as much as Bitcoin in 2018?

I do not think so as there is a fundamental difference between the two and the issue of supply.

Ethereum aspires to be the world's computer, running decentralized application online.
Bitcoin is a medium of exchange of value and aspires to enable the masses to have control of their own money.
