81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / This latest sell-off in altcoins is the headfake before the MELT-UP!!! on: January 11, 2018, 09:47:41 PM
OK, full disclosure, I don't actually own a crystal ball.

The headline of my post is meant to underscore a very important phenomenon in all markets:

Before the market moves up, it will quite often see a large, FALSE move in the opposite direction.

This traps the most people on the 'wrong side' of the move.

Anyone remember what happened after China banned crypto-currency trading and Jamie Dimon called bitcoin a fraud?

Biggest leg up ever followed shortly after, catching most people other than the hardcore religious HODL-zealots completely off guard.

My point is, this doesn't feel like a normal correction. Feels more like the headfake move before the rocket takes off.

Obviously, I may be completely wrong but I'm definitely not selling anything in my portfolio..

Fileiro.

Great observation.

I like the 'I wish I never bought altcoins'- type threads. That's a sure sign a solid bull run in alts are imminent.

Reversed, when someone announce they just bought a new lambo with their 573433277% profit from AnusCoin, I'm out!
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Bloodbath is here, We are coming back to Earth on: January 11, 2018, 05:20:40 AM
Strange. Every time bitcoin has dropped from its latest high, alts have followed for a day, but then they bounced right back up above their previous highs.

You wouldn't be trying to get some weak hands to sell you their coins at a steep discount, now would you? Wink
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for examples on how you diversified your portfolio on: January 11, 2018, 05:06:42 AM
The most expensive lesson I've learned in trading, is that stop loss orders DON'T WORK!

I don't care how clever you think you are, rely on a broker's stop loss function and eventually you will get ass-raped. HARD.

Why do you say this? Do you have a good example? Not that I probably don't agree with you though!

Like i mentioned, bitter experience taught me this.

A stop will hold up most of the time. And then, when you really need that shit to work, price will drop so fast that your stop and your backup stop and your 'i'm-fucked-if-this-stop-is-run-over'-EMERGENCY stop will all be worthless.

Trading with only a stop loss to protect your position is the fastest way to put all of your money in someone else's pocket.

Just. Don't. Smiley

This is why I use diversification and position size to protect my portfolio.

Some people never put more than 1-2% in each position, I split my portfolio up in 7 portions allocated to one altcoin each.

This is sufficient to keep me out of danger but still make good profit when a coin moves up.

Besides this, I also keep a core holding in bitcoin that only ever gets added to, never sold off from.

Altcoins are for trading, bitcoin is for buy-&-HODL!

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Dividend Token - The world's first email based cryptocurrency on: January 10, 2018, 02:24:36 PM
I definitely think dividends is a super important feature to implement in crypto-currency.

That's one of the best wealth building tools in the stock market, so adding this feature to crypto will advance mass adoption in the years to come.

Good luck with the project!

87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MARKET IS CRASHING : WHAT'S YOUR THOUGHTS ? on: January 08, 2018, 08:29:48 PM
There is no CRASH, just a normal CORRECTION.

Some people should stay away from trading anything until they know the difference.

I'm hyper-bullish on the whole crypto-currency market, both BTC AND altcoins.

I think what were seeing these days is a combination of whales moving their winnings from the latest bull run in BTC into the altcoins market in order to facilitate the next bull cycle in alts, but at the same time the average retail investors that woke up to the insane gains of BTC are getting their eyes opened to the potential of the many great altcoin projects just waiting to go parabolic.

This will create the perfect storm in 2018 for the whole crypto-currency market and I believe we will see alts doing 'a BTC' this spring.

Then, once everyone is starting to shop for lambos with their newly minted millions from altcoins, it will be time to cash out of alts and move back into BTC once again for the next push towards 100,000$ per btc.

This is what a NEW bull market feels like! Try to make 2-500% in a week in the stock market and let me know how a dying bull feels..

Making 2-500% a week in the stock market was perfectly reasonable in the dotcom boom of the late 1990's. Actually, it was quite normal and many people became overnight millionairs just like we're seeing in crypto today.

Now, I do think crypto is going to be even bigger than the dotcom boom, but it won't happen until the infrastructure for it is far more developed than it is now because most people simply can't get past how to even buy Bitcoin let alone anything more complicated.

Yes, my point exactly. The stock market today, even with the Dow breaking 25,000, is an old bull market.

I was around in the Dot-Com days as well so I remember what a NEW bull is supposed to look like and that's why my money is in crypto today.. Smiley
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Florincoin. The monster you haven't heard of. Time to buy. on: January 07, 2018, 11:18:19 PM
Florincoin has a lot more mooning to do.

This coin will go at least 3-5X from its current levels in 2018.

It could go 10 or even 15X I think.
This is just one of those coins. You have to hold and wait for the development !

You might very well be right 😊

I'm locked into my position that I picked up in early November for a great price, so I'm not letting it go!

I signed up and filled in the survey to activate my account but after sending the survey, I was directed to a landing page telling me to 'complete a few more steps below' BUT there was no way to scroll down or complete any steps.

So now my account is still not activated, what gives?

94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax on: January 04, 2018, 09:30:50 PM
What most fail to understand, is that the THE HUNT FOR TAXES is the most dangerous and all-consuming driving force behind all governments worldwide today.

The police state being erected all around us turning our society into a giant open-air prison isn't being put in place to fight terrorism or drugs or 'crime'.

It's the mechanism governments use to prey on their citizens to rob them of their wealth in order to fund the lavish lifestyles of the ruling elites and their minions, the pedoticians.

EVERYTHING is a lie designed to support this system of slavery through taxation, wage employment and debt.

If some bright mind in the crypto-community one day figure out a way to free citizens from tax/wage/debt slavery through the use of blockchain technology, it will truly be the greatest leap forward for humanity in 200,000 years.

96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All my money in 1 altcoin - Too risky? on: December 27, 2017, 02:22:37 AM
So far everyone have only advised on the FINANCIAL investment aspect of trading altcoins.

However, there's an EMOTIONAL investment aspect nobody is talking about which is the part that will cost you the most, if you get it wrong.

FINANCIALLY, 500$ is 500$ whichever way you cut it.

But:

EMOTIONALLY, 500$ divided into 5 or 10 portions, is FAR easier to manage rationally than a single, big 500$ lump sum.

So one of your portions evaporates overnight? That's still only 50-100$.

But if your 500$ ALL goes poof while you're sleeping, you're likely a lot less evenheaded about it.

Which means you're not going to be acting very rationally if you got all of your funds lumped into one single investment.

And there's the REAL reason you should diversify.

(Which, coincidentally, is how any rational heterosexual male should always manage his women as well!)
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's going on with GlobalCurrencyReserve (GCR) +112% today? on: December 21, 2017, 07:54:50 PM
Prices have peaked at 4580 and are trading above 1700, likely to rise sharply this week. I'm also looking for answers to why GCR is so powerful today. Grin Grin Grin

Hi, thanks for replying!

Yeah, I researched the coin a bit but it seems like a somewhat dodgy project with lots of MLM people promoting it, so I sold off when I made 300+% Smiley
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The whales are cashing out on: December 21, 2017, 06:51:02 PM
OP is right.

This is how the game is played in ALL markets.

Dump on the newcomers, in order to buy back in at much lower prices.

There's a mega-bull coming in alts in 2018 when the whales rotate their funds there from BTC.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bubble burst on: December 20, 2017, 07:42:43 PM
I don't know how many of you guys were around during the great recession, but the current bull market in equities is the most hated in history, and was born out of the carnage from that crisis.

I can't count the times when I've read some pundit call the top and declare that the bear is coming and look where we are now in all of the indices.. New ATHs being set almost daily.

The bull market in cryptocurrencies is a NEW BULL! Yes, it's scary to watch BTC go from 1000$ in the beginning of this year to over 20,000$, but just because it scares you, doesn't mean it can't go up 10-20-30 times from here.

Bull markets die when everybody is in. Is everybody in?

Does your barber or your granny talk to you about their latest investment in privacy coins 'because they're the future'?

This bull is a mere CALF, I tell you, and a golden one too...
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Huge Altcoin rally underway on: December 17, 2017, 05:08:51 PM
As long as there's still plenty of people spreading fear, saying 'the altcoins market is not a bull market, it will crash in a month', there's tons of money to be made.

This has all the hallmarks of a true bull market, up to and including the naysayers busy building the Wall of Worry for this bull to climb.

I just feel sorry for those missing this freight train Cheesy
