Bitcoin is heading for $10. Guys who ordered a knobtune are going to have to build a timemachine to mine back their 13K! Set it for 2012 Tongue

cointerra also showed the full box complete with custom cooling system... also before the asic arrived.  did you see anyone else do that?  did any other asic company show such a high level of readiness in advance of their asic arriving?   if they did, i sure haven't seen it.
It was KnCMiner who did it. They even incorporated changes to airflow proposed at the forum.

They also gave exact fabout and bumpout dates quoted from their fab.  yet again, do you know ANY OTHER ASIC company that gave us their fabout and bumpout dates?   i sure don't!
It was BFL who gave us their fabout and bumpout dates - even several times (new dates each time). Wink

aerobatic doesnt seem to know much about anything...

I love reading all the socialist posts about corporate greed. You realize that you are trying to make money yourself, right? Hating on a company that is also trying to make money is BS. KNC doesn't control the price of bitcoin on the free market, and if they decide to open up orders for jupiters during a price drop I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.

haha, PLUS 1 BILLION.

how dare a company want to make profit!!! I WANT ALL THE PROFIT FOR THE LEAST AMOUNT OF WORK!!!!

Bunch of pussies on here i tell ya
The company have made a profit. A massive profit. Millions. They are somewhere between $50-100 million in sales, right? That's a very comfortable position.

So there is no reason why they can't thank the people who put them where they are, who gave them a free loan to get them started, by offering them goods at a very low price.

They gave people who ordered knobtunes 25% off, so you'd expect at least that again. And as that was only to 1200 customers, there are probably another 3-5000 customers who could do with a nice deal. Especially the October people, who risked everything on an unknown start-up in Sweden and paid a massive premium for their goods.

And I'm not saying that for me, as I stated before, I would never support a company like this again.

We'll see what they think of their customers and how they show their gratitude soon enough. If they try to profiteer, it says volumes and just adds to the negativity they have created by how they ignore customers once they've taken their money.

i see where you are coming from, but again as a company, their sole purpose is to make money and dont have to "be nice" and offer discounts. they already did with neptunes which is more than enough. we chose to fund them, they didnt beg me for my money so they dont owe me anything, what they did owe me was my mercury unit which they delivered on time.

I ordered and paid for one this past Friday but it still ddoesn't show "PAID".  I'm guessing because I did it through bank transfer? How long does it take to change the status to PAID? I emailed them but still haven't received a response.

it will take a few days, dont bother contacting them, just be patient. it will show up this week.

Still no picture of 500GH/s speed?

It's all over the internet.  Don't you read Coindesk?

400 BC called.  Gorgias wants his solipsism back.   Roll Eyes

hashfast is just so late, i understand why people are pissed.

Yes, it is fruitless to accuse HashFast of lying unless you also apply that "logic" to Cointerra as well.

Thanks for taking my point.  A little slow, but I know you EECS guys aren't big on verbal comprehension.   Wink

just to clarify, which company do you support? hashfast, bfl, knc, cointerra? or none.

I support logical consistency.

If HashFast's chip is "late" because it didn't ship at the earliest possible moment, so is Cointerra's.

If HashFast 'must have known' they couldn't deliver at the earliest possible moment, so did Cointerra.

If HashFast 'should be sued' for not delivering at the earliest possible moment, so should Cointerra.

If HashFast 'is the devil and literally Hitler' for not providing refunds or guaranteed ROI in BTC, so is Cointerra.

ok, well from my point of view both hashfast and cointerra are horrible failures....

Good to see the Neptunes sell out.  I decided against purchasing one, I think I'll go for 3rd generation KNCs.  Great company to deal with.  A complete pleasure compared to some of the other nightmarish manufacturers out there.

3rd gen stuff will be commercial....might not be suitable for you dude.

Has this been confirmed?

well knc stated the neptune will be their last consumer device...

Jez mate, you're chasing your tail. It's fruitless, the dark yellow is well earned for a reason...

yea, i think you're right

reminds me of a really shitty series on netflix i tried watching called "Terra Nova".  Worst acting I have ever seen.   Cheesy  Anyways, I think all this scamming going on is going to come back and bite all these companies in the ass.  As bitcoin becomes more adopted, blockchain investigations will evolve to the point where people will have a much better understanding of what happened with their money.

Even mixing services will reveal their records if there's money talkin

whattttt terranova was awesome!
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 14, 2013, 04:59:28 PM
knc dies are on the same silicon tho, just divided into 4 sectors. hashfast literally took 4 chips and put them on one substrate.... each of those 4 little chips probably has 4 dies its self as well....see what im saying? if knc took 4 of its chips and put them all on one subrate, it would be the same thing, under one heatspreader and heatsink....
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 14, 2013, 04:52:23 PM
all hashfast did was just put 4 dies onto one package....i dont see how its so revolutionary. the box is still bigger than knc boxes and way more complex = more to go wrong....
98  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 14, 2013, 03:36:40 AM
you havent shipped anything yet, so stop talking like you have. Also, STOP bashing KNC, clearly you are trying to ride their coat tails.

Huh  I never claimed to have shipped anything, where did you get that idea?   Huh

HashFast does have a single chip running (underclocked) at 500GH, which is an impressive feat.

KnC shipped hardware, and we have benefited by learning from their mistakes.

It's not "bashing" to acknowledge their issues with PSUs, shipping/packaging, and drivers.

It's not "riding their coat tails" to explain the exact steps HashFast has taken to avoid the unfortunate problems experienced by KNC.

When companies compete to offer better products and services to the public, it's a good thing and we all profit!   Smiley

Best,

-HF_CL

You might have learnt from their mistakes, but you didn't learn from the one thing they did right: they shipped almost on time (I received my units on 3/4th October and the deadline was 31st September). That's the MOST important thing. Time is the essence in this business.

This is why you get angry replies: you seem to be bashing KnC and bragging on how superior you are, while you screwed up the shipping dates by 2 months - that's an EPIC fail and that is something you are supposed to control. No one blames you of difficulty growth, everybody blames you on being late 2 long months that make ROI impossible. Nobody would have bought your batch #1 units if they weren't expected for October.

+1 million

100  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 14, 2013, 02:58:37 AM
HashFast's chips are about 3 times more powerful when compared on a GH per sq.mm basis.

HashFast is shipping with top-shelf quality Sea Sonic PSUs, so our customers won't have to put up with exploding/self-immolating units like KNC's did.

In addition, HashFast lined up an exclusive with CIARA, which means HashFast machines will be assembled and shipped with utmost expediency (no random guys helping load some random van), in professional/durable packaging.

That means double-walled boxes, so HashFast customers' hardware won't arrive broken like so much of KNC's did.

Finally, (again unlike KNC) HashFast has been working closely with ckolivas for a long time to ensure cgminer works flawlessly with our innovative new GN Protocol, Global Work Queue, etc.

After 70 days mining every one of my batch #1 Jupiters have mined aprox. 50 BTC each - let's see how many BTC will your batch #1 units mine in their first 70 days of life.

That (BTC MINED/DAY) is the only thing that matters right now. Power costs are so ridiculously marginal at this stage that bragging about efficiency is just ludicrous.

I'm glad you are satisfied with your past ROI, but don't see the use or validity of comparing it to future returns.

In fact, the hash power which earned you that nice ROI in the past is exactly why future ROIs will be lower!

You could go all the way back to Gen One Avalons if you really want to highlight the past vs future contrast.

HashFast cannot control difficulty, nor make investment/speculation/gambling decisions for its customers.

We can however learn from KNC and others' mistakes, and control our choices of flawless cgminer support, high-quality Sea Sonic PSUs, world-class CIARA assembly, and professional logistics which includes packaging adequate to prevent damage in shipping.

Judging by the uproar in the KnC thread(s) over these issues, they do matter to many customers.

Best,

-HF_CL

still horribly late. everything you say is irrelevant
