81  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: serious question on: April 06, 2013, 10:53:16 AM
Whether or not BFL is a scam is up to you to decide.

That's not how reality works.
82  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 06, 2013, 08:32:40 AM
At this point anybody with a brain larger than a pea can see that BFL had ZERO chance of shipping a finished product last October...ZERO, yet they lied time and time again to convince the community that their products were right around the corner. Seriously can you even debate any of that at this point

Hindsight. Fucking. Bias.

Hey LJR, stop deleting my posts! I don't care if you don't like it, it's true.

But you're violating his safe space!

Still no confirmation of working bfl ASIC device!

1 satoshi says that people will still be posting this even after all the pre orders have been shipped.

I'm pretty sure it will stop once there IS confirmation of a working device. Why should it stop until then?

Which fucking planet are you on?

Look, I don't have high opinions of Luke but he'd know if the hardware he's developing with was fake by now, and he usually only lies about software issues.

In case anyone doesn't realise, confirmation of working ASICs != shipping of completed units.

"St. Barbara's Faithfully Glorified Mining Initiative Naturally Exceeding Rivals", or just basically a freaking good miner.

Really?

Seems legit.

I nearly fell off my chair after seeing it though.

some big dips, and quite a few rejected shares

That's more likely to be a mining software problem than an ASIC problem.

If you haven't pulled your money by now, it is probably already too late....

lol

Is there any evidence that they have stopped refunding?
89  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bfl a scam? on: April 05, 2013, 07:58:30 AM
It's either an intentional scam or will end up being one because of the delusion/incompetence of the people running it.

There's no such thing as an unintentional scam. The concept is absurd.

What you're thinking of is a fuckup.
90  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 05, 2013, 07:47:44 AM
Yeah who cares?  They could set the price at $10,000 each if they wanted like Avalon did.  That doesn't make it a rip off - don't buy it if you think it is.  No one is forcing you to buy ASICs.

This.

I will also This this.
91  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 04, 2013, 01:19:20 PM
If you think that an unfinished product can be "shipped" you must be brain damaged or trolling.

God, this thread is gold. Keep the laughs coming Smiley

You are contributing greatly by being a laughingstock.

Keep up the good work.

I believe it goes both ways, yeah?

I'm going to resume laughing at Mr. it's-literally-impossible-to-ship-an-unfinished-product.

It mentioned the product being shipped to a customer and working.

Did it mention a finished product?

Logically speaking, why would they ship it if it wasn't complete?

There are many reasons, and all of them are irrelevant.
94  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: wild and unsubstantiated speculation about BFL's power woes on: April 04, 2013, 11:23:45 AM
7) BFL has said they are re-designing the boards to improve the power situation.  To me this is unclear what they are doing.  I think Josh said something about using 2 regulators instead of 1 - but I could have that wrong.

They may have made the power lines on the PCBs too thin. Even a milliohm of resistance between the power supply and the chips causes problems when you try to run 60+ amps worth of chips.
95  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 04, 2013, 11:04:28 AM
Any betting house who questions that BFL has NOT shipped to customers is in my blacklist.

oh fuck not muyuu's blacklist!

The product is not finished. End of story. With judgement like that I can only assume they are corrupt.

Did the bet specifically mention the product being finished?
96  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinjedi / betsofbitco.in SCAMMERS: Declares "Push" on obvious win for BFL bet on: April 04, 2013, 10:57:35 AM
BoB, the fake betting site

They disagree with me on one decision, therefore it's a fake betting site.

basically did exactly what MNW did

The circumstances were completely different, but I feel just as upset, therefore it's exactly the same.
97  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinjedi / betsofbitco.in SCAMMERS: Declares "Push" on obvious win for BFL bet on: April 04, 2013, 12:15:37 AM
This is pretty much an argument to ignorance. If you gamble, lose, and refund

This is pretty much an argument to what the fuck. You're describing the situation as if the judge and the betters were the same person, who refunded themself when they lost.
98  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinjedi / betsofbitco.in SCAMMERS: Declares "Push" on obvious win for BFL bet on: April 04, 2013, 12:01:21 AM
I'm not giving him a scammer tag. By using betsofbitco.in, you agreed that betsofbitco.in staff would be the ones to decide events. It's none of my business how he does this.
So if they decide bets based on who pays them the most under the table, would they still not be tagged as a scammer?

Scammer tags here truly are useless.

Oh no! The tag doesn't apply to every possible situation that you don't like! It must be useless.
99  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 03, 2013, 11:51:53 PM
Well, I'm not sure anyone confirmed how many chips were in it either.  If they were running a full 8 chips @ 25GH/s, then it doesn't come close to 75%.

Technically, the number of chips is irrelevant; neither the bet nor BFL's order forms said that customers were ordering a certain number of chips. The units are specified purely by hashrate.

That would sure matter to the pre-order line up though, wouldn't it?

Certainly. They're kind of fucked if they need to double up the chips on every unit.

btw, what is the lead time on extra wafers when your yield estimate goes to hell?

A while.
100  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 03, 2013, 11:50:43 PM
It's a bit like a lottery scam, where you sell tickets, publicly draw numbers, and instead of paying the winner the grand prize, you just refund his ticket.

You mean, declare no winner and refund every ticket.

The problem with the lottery analogy is that there is no "loser" (prize comes from the tickets).

In this case there is a loser and the house could be corrupt and take a bribe from him.

Everyone who doesn't have the winning numbers is a loser.
