81  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LakeBTC - is it a scam ? on: August 04, 2017, 07:29:17 PM
Yes, lakebtc is not a scam, I have used it and the service they provide is excellent though they may be having poor customer support at times but i can recommend that service to anyone. It is still a very good service.

LakeBTC is a SCAM!

And more info is yet to come

82  Economy / Exchanges / Re: anyone tried to withdraw fiat on LakeBTC recently? on: August 04, 2017, 07:16:36 PM
I can confirm LakeBTC is a SCAM.

Actually their practices, lack of information, misleading information, lies on all Rewiews websites actually written by them, everything is a big lie.

Fiat withdrawals are practically impossible.
LakeBTC claims they externalised d/w as peer to peer between users but the truth is that this system is not working and completely stuck.

They claim they give 'LakeBanker' priviledges to any trustfull/verified users upon request, but they do not mention anywhere the number of active LakeBankers, they actually put some difficult conditions to become and remain a LakeBanker.

They only care to charge the activation tax and don't care if there are enough LakeBankers to keep the system working.
This result of this is the fact that there are just a handfull of them and they are not helping anyone because 99% of normal users just want to withdraw fiat and tat is just impossible and not fezable.

Furthermore, all the story about how big the exchange is and how trustfull, it's just a big lie.
I have so many arguments that would fill 3 forum pages

Unlucky me, I have realised all these only after I end up with a 5 digit fiat amount on their platform that it's virtually impossible to take it out from there since months

Some other thoughts here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=607119.msg20614321#msg20614321

When I will have time I'll open a new Scam thread and explain everything I dig and found about them.

83  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 【LakeBTC.com】Bitcoin Exchange on: August 04, 2017, 01:15:11 PM
this service is scam, in there no lakebankers Sad

They are not scam there is no one to accept your withdrawal !
Like me , there is no one to deposit then I will accept .

@saeidza  you don't even read what the guy is saying...
Or you're just part of the same scam...

Pycckoe wants to withdraw BTC, through System Banker.
LakeBankers don't manage BTC withdrawals.

The problem is real, LakeBTC is not executing BTC withdrawals unless one sometimes recall that "some people sometimes" do want to withdraw BTC!
Some bored guy is sometimes checking the BTC withdrawal requests added by users and manually send the funds probably 1 or 2 times per day. There is nothing automatic there, just the mercy of the admin/worker.

I also have my request pending since 6 hrs this time and nothing happens
Previously (and the only BTC withdrawal I asked so far) was executed after more than 6 hours, probably when someone checked the back-end and considered to eventually do it.

Furthermore don't even say the word "LakeBanker".
This LakeBanker setup is such a lie, a bullshit and a scam.
All this so called "deposit/withdrawal system".
Totally frozen. Funds completely blocked.
I just hope I will - one day - get all my fiat out from there because for now I only have some hope for BTC withdrawal
But fiat it's stuck!
No one touches fiat withdrawal requests no matter how big / small / method you try (and I tried all combinations possible in the last month).

There are so, so many lies around LakeBTC shady business ... I'll probably tell one day some of the facts I saw, read, traced, noticed, checked and verified about LakeBTC in the last 2 months.
2 months since I was and I still am struggling to withdraw my 5 digit fiat funds without a huge loss converting, but so far without any success.

@LakeBTC your help is always welcome in solving my/other users  issues.
It's just your choice when you decide to help us fairly adding a proper bank wire to the system and/or take measures that people can withdraw guaranteed...
... or just keep cheating and lying about your service, your nonexistent "10 millions" users, your all 12 active (useless) LakeBankers, your trading-bot making the "4th world transaction volumes", your fake physical nonexistent Shanghai address layered over Hyundai Automotive facilities, or your 2003 dormant-defaulted parent organisation Lake Investments Limited https://offshoreleaks.icij.org/nodes/10076428 parent of LakeBTC.com https://g.co/kgs/C9UJpC , or so much more "cherries" waiting to be revealed, unless I will eventually get my fiat funds safe, back to my bank.
And no, I'm not a "business competitor", but just a regular user feeling cheated by all the lies you spread all over the internet and also terrified I could lose all my fiat blocked on your platform.

@regular trapped users
Please don't make my mistake to join this ghosty platform and if you did it already just buy your BTC back and hope that some administrator will eventually accept your coin withdraw.
Because fiat, you'll never see it!

84  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 27, 2017, 11:59:58 AM
Just another piece of interesting information from my latest experience...

It seems that the Czech accounts used for SEPA deposits are not seized.

Story:
I was just funding my account minutes before the Cloudfare 502 the other day, I was sending like 2.5k.
Then the next day, watching this thread, the moment I've seen the misteryous arrest on the Reuters news I have triggered the transfer cancellation which already shown as "processed"
Just minutes ago the money came back to my bank account so I'm relieved.
My only loss in this business were the 75EUR cancellation commission, lucky me...

On the last page of the arrest warrant published by coindesk

https://www.coindesk.com/110-million-btc-e-fined-us-vows-crackdown-unregulated-exchanges/

it is stated that

IN THE MATTER OF THE SEARCH OF
INFORMATION ASSOCIATED WITH
SERVERS CONTAINING BTC-E-
RELATED CONTENT STORED AT THE
PREMISES CONTROLLED BY
EQUINIX

then we find out Equinix is a data center based right in Redwood City, California, with several  POPs worldwide
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equinix
https://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equinix

So the above warrant is also a search warrant for the servers location which may better explain why BTC-e wend suddenly in 502 and also why one of the tweets was saying something about "network related issues in data center" while FEDs were busy pulling out the RJ45s Smiley

don't quote me on that, it's just one of my thoughts

Equinix data center is in Bulgaria too, what makes you think BTC-e would use a Californian data center an risk FinCen problems?
They would have been taken down years ago like Mt Gox was in the US.

I didn't say the servers were in California, that was exactly my point saying "with several  POPs worldwide"
While the arrest warrant had jurisdiction in Greece, the same way the search warrant was applicable anywhere between Bulgaria, Poland, etc etc ...

Latest tweet:

Update2: At the moment, work is underway to restore the service. Approximate terms from 5 to 10 days. Thank you for understanding

5 to 10 days to restore the service? I thought It was a regular maintenance, I thought there was nothing to worry!

If you haven't already, now is a good time to watch "Full metal panic" simply PANIC! Grin

You are not right ... think that probably the data center is not a secure place anymore, they'll probably have to move to another location, who knows ...
if I;m only thinking to this specific case, moving to another data center, which usually when it's planned it is done smoothly, preparing the other infrastructure then switching the button...
But probably in their case, they might need to pack everything in hurry then take time to organize on the other side.

Anyway, the update2 seems confident, it seems they know what they have to do and the time it would take... IMHO

I don't know but I tend to believe that ... they will probably recover over the next days

The message seems pretty confident, although covered with the same secrecy we are used to from btc-e

Maybe they really have reasons to keep the low profile ...
89  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 26, 2017, 06:00:58 PM
Not sure how much value it has, but the btc-e forum account just came online. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=33012

I seriously hope this is a good sign as I have 1 BTC in my exchange account that I desperately look to withdraw from there as soon as they put the site back online (if ever). If they can access their main forum account, they can also share some more details -- the silence is literally pissing off thousands of people as we speak.

That's nice!
means some member of the btc-e team is just laughing on people's struggle, reading around ...

Isn't xbtce.com owned by the same company that owns btc-e.com?

The xbtce.com site is online and functioning.

No, it's not
91  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 26, 2017, 03:50:56 PM
If one of founders was arrested, it doesn't mean that servers and bitcoins was seized.

If I was a cofounder or an admin with server rights, and saw the founder get dragged off like he was the Silk Road founder, all the while I was thinking we were as legit as GDAX or Poloniex, I'd probably crap my pants, and freeze the entire site.

Not run away with anyone's funds, but I wouldn't continue running it until our site's legal status is clarified.

Very pertinent ...

But once again, it's too much of a coincidence the update tweets just stopped yesterday evening.
It may be due to freezed communication between the 2 Alex's or between one of them and the rest of the team, while one of them is arrested? Who knows ...

Tried earlier to contact Karoline, the greek reporter firstly reporting the story on Reuters, questioning for any possible relation between the arrest and btc-e then I see in news that the idea became mainstream...
92  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 26, 2017, 12:38:04 PM

... this combined with the fact there is no twitter update since yesterday evening...

I really hope I'm wrong and there's no relation between one and the other  Sad

LE
Not feeling very comfortable as yesterday like just about 30 mins before the 502 I was sending a SEPA to fund some fiat into my account.
And now I have just paid 75 euros fee for a request for cancellation for the transaction. Just hope it works and manage return the fiat back to the bank.

Just want to share with you guys I've got 100% refund, true it was small amount ~0.01btc, but still ...
https://blockchain.info/ro/address/1GLadosEkeAsLReqS3yQ51E1R3wVtbJCDF

It's very difficult to understand or assume what exactely happened, there are a lot of unanswered questions...

The thing is TF is no doubt a very smart guy, considering what he achieved in business as a single guy, not being a company with dozens of employees as it might look the whole bunch of major and high traffic websites he was running
So it's equally difficult not to believe he's a scammer at some point but... think about it, if there is a chance he's not that, if he's just a well intended guy as probably each one of you, being caught in such a huge and overwhelming and shocking hit to your business... how the hell would you react?

Being quiet for two weeks after the hack and evaluating the chances to save your business not losing the trust of the ones trusting your business, I really doubt any of us in his position would run straight to the police to complain. Maybe he just hoped he's got chances to get things right, fix whatever was needed to be fixed to continue the business with the fewest casualties possible. Unfortunately at the end 100% bad luck.

It's just my idea, don't throw stones... IF he's not a bad guy, I cannot imagine me being in his place, suddenly having everything  ruined.
For me it's amazing the strength he has now, trying to refund people even like this , partially and chaotically ...

Thanks for refund TF ...
I did find you as a nice and reasonable guy as admin@coinchat, if you're not the scammer people are claiming, I'm really, really sad and sorry for the colapse of the whole thing...

98  Economy / Services / Re: CaptchaCoin.co.gp - the fair alternative on: September 04, 2013, 09:59:49 AM
The idea is great, but I can not enter in this web site, it does not load in my browser  : (

unfortulatelly they put it down, it's all those free web hosting ...
once again, it's a personal project with no financial support from anyone so I'll try to put it on if possible ...

I'll let anyone know when it will be fixed

Catpcha are a waste of time, I think ;(
yes you're right but some people have time to actually do something, not just wait faucets to have the waiting time expired so they can claim more ...

99  Economy / Services / Re: FreeBitCoin on: September 01, 2013, 03:56:10 PM
Yeah I confirm it works, I run it in VM

... but I have one comment:
It's not focused on submit button upon keypressed... it makes it difficult to click with mouse after each type-in, instead what should be normal - just press enter

anyway, you should check captchacoin.co.gp , it's similar, it's web and there is no 30mins waiting time because of using lots of proxies.

0.05BTC it's a bad joke ... of course he's not gonna pay =))
100  Economy / Services / CaptchaCoin.co.gp - the fair alternative on: September 01, 2013, 08:17:37 AM
Hi,

Since my last posts here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=247181.msg2947852#msg2947852 and the light frustration and disappointment on the low accuracy we already discussed of, I come up here and present an alternative, trying something similar, but fair.

It's a personal project, I made it in the first place for my own personal use to get extra bitcoins and I'm thinking to share it also with whoever wants to do the same and in the same time to help me make it better.

... it's just that I found the way to do it  and get rid of all these "Waiting Time..." faucets online. It's supposed to be unlimited - as much as you can do, and for this it needs traffic.

So driven by the idea of solving captchas for bitcoins I tried to put in place captchacoin.co.gp.

Just give it a try!
