81  Local / India / Re: What will you do if India outlaws/bans Bitcoin? on: January 30, 2018, 07:37:45 AM
How will they ban Bitcoin:

1) If they ban all the exchanges in India, people will start buying through exchanges outside India and sell it on forums in exchange of PayPal money.

2) Some people may ask their friends in other countries to make the investment and give them the profits. How will they stop this ?

Only if there are laws like legal punishment, we can see this stopping.

82  Local / India / Re: Scams in India on: January 30, 2018, 07:29:42 AM
This is mainly because there are no proper regulations regarding this. I would not be surprised if any leading exchange here runs away with the money of investors. Once government has come up with some regulations, we can be little safe. For instance, there should be requirement for these exchanges to deposit some money at the government for operation. Also, their owner should not be allowed to leave India without taking official permission.
83  Other / Meta / Re: 11 Merit - 125 posts - 112 ranking - any questions? on: January 29, 2018, 06:54:45 PM
Some questions for you:

1) Isn't the new system implemented for everyone ? You have to compete with others on the same level.

2) If you owned this forum and found that it is being spammed by account farmers with shit posts, would you have not taken some steps to combat this ?

3) Do you think questioning the system will have any impact on the decision made? In fact, if you have read the posts made by others doing the same thing, you might not have started this thread.

Improve or remain stuck at current level forever. All the best.
84  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 29, 2018, 06:31:21 PM
Sold Merit are not less fake.
What will happen to members who sell or offer to sell their Merit? Will they are be banished? Or will their merit be canceled?
I mean only - because of the quality of the posts.

They are already being given negative trust by some of the trusted members here. You can help the forum by reporting such a behavior. I think once the members here have spent the default merits that they have got, we will have a better picture. Thereafter, it will be merit sources mainly giving the merits and I hope they consider the trust of the member as well while giving those merits. This will ensure that cheaters do not have any access to merit points at all.

86  Other / Meta / Re: Warren Buffet - metaphorical quotes for the Merit system on: January 27, 2018, 06:32:45 PM
This is certainly one of the most creative threads related to merit system by a new member. I agree to you on all these aspects especially the patience part. Most of the members are expecting instant merits which will not  happen for all.
87  Other / Meta / Re: Forget about merit! Let's just post normally on: January 27, 2018, 06:16:41 PM
I tried to forget about it and post but it comes back to mind. I get reminded of it whenever I visit any other members profile, my own profile or see those posts. In fact, if I come to meta section to see any new announcement, I had to see at least 5-10 new threads about merits. I think it will take some time.
88  Other / Meta / Re: Hero members find its difficult to gain 500 merits but members can do easily ?? on: January 27, 2018, 06:06:14 PM
this post is just a criticism post , not meant for disrespecting anyone ..

Note - Dear admins if you like it then think over it , if you dislike it and think it should not be posted then please delete it .

badly needed the founder - satoshi here , where are you dude ,

capitalists world is attacking your idea of decentralization , countries banning and regulating crypto .
some banks launching their own currency , and people also buying them ..
even your own forum favouring to all old members who are already achieved enough merits (no criteria of quality post) and already profited by signature campaign so much , and strict rules for new people so that it become more hard for new members to join bounties .

why so much favour !!

satoshi launched btc for decentralization and this forum to promote decentralization , not for making anyone rich .

but almost all old members are running for bounties . some gems are only helping others ... you should ..

I just had a good laugh reading this post. Can't say what Satoshi would do after reading this ?

See, the admin is making changes as per the suggestion of members. You may never know what he has in store for lower rank members next. Till those  changes are made, you have to act according to the current rules.

90  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit so special on: January 27, 2018, 05:20:37 PM
so the bitcoiner is more focused on getting merit than learning from this forum
Different members have different intentions while joining the forum. Some want to rank up and participate in signature campaigns. They now need to post quality posts so as to get merits. Some people are here for answers to their queries and may not be interested in posting or earning merits at all. Both can co-exist.
91  Other / Meta / Re: Merit is the best thing that happend to new users on: January 27, 2018, 05:13:18 PM
What an awesome post by a new member and it is nice to see the encouragement he got from other senior members. This is how things should go on here. Instead of complaining about the demerits of the new system, we should try to improve our skills. It would be nice to see who among the newbies and junior member is first to reach higher rank like Hero. May be there are more changes to this system as well. I am in for this and will try to be on topic and detailed with my posts hereafter.
92  Other / Meta / Re: The reality is 99.9% members can never rank up with the new merit system. on: January 27, 2018, 05:02:01 PM
The good: Only the quality posters will rank up.

That is good for the forum and the main purpose of introducing this new system.

The bad: Even if you post quality contents you may not get many merits by the people.

Some good posts might get ignored. But a quality contributor (one making all good posts) will get noticed sooner or later.

The ugly: When you post great content many people are lazy to click and go to the next page and add the merit(s).

Someone solved this for you https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2833350.0
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: January 19, 2018, 01:21:32 PM
I plan to buy some Bitcoins when it reaches $5000. And by the end of this year it will reach $50000.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest regret about bitcoin on: January 19, 2018, 01:01:13 PM
One of the biggest regrets I have is that I went away from IM in 2012. If I was in IM , I would have taken bitcoins for a number of services and would have been very rich today.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safest way to keep bitcoins? on: January 19, 2018, 12:49:08 PM
There are trusted hardware wallets for this purpose where you can store bitcoins safely.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some government ban bitcoin? on: January 18, 2018, 05:06:22 PM
Governments are banning bitcoins because of following reasons:
1) They think that it is being used for illegal activities.
2) They are not able to receive taxes for these transactions.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If no one spends bitcoin what might happen? on: January 18, 2018, 04:58:43 PM
If no one spends or sells bitcoins, it is obvious that the price will rise hugely.
98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this for real? I could be a millionaire? on: January 18, 2018, 04:43:03 PM
If you will see the current prices, you will get mad. You could have made much more. I think, if you have some money, you can still invest in bitcoins.
99  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the bitcoin price recover? on: January 18, 2018, 04:20:26 PM
Of course, in last 7 years prices have always reduced in beginning of the year. But prices recovered in coming months, thus this is good time to invest.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bigger dip to come? on: January 18, 2018, 04:05:49 PM
I think price will not go below $8000. If you invest now, you can expect double money in 6 months or so.
