61  Other / Meta / Re: my account being hacked on: February 10, 2018, 08:18:15 AM
You have to follow the process mentioned here first: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0. Have you done this before creating this thread ?
62  Other / Meta / Re: Appreciate merit system being a Newbie on: February 07, 2018, 06:42:43 PM
And this is the way merit system promotes good quality posts.. Low rank members begging for some points, saying good words about the new system.
Great quality!

How long do you think it will last ? And also how many points can one get by begging here ? I am soon we will see some members getting painted red as well for begging for merit. We do not need people who are here to cheat the forum rules.
63  Other / Meta / Re: A little problem in merit system on: February 07, 2018, 06:38:34 PM
When someone  gets merit point from another user, he can delete their post ( especially when their post does not deserve a merit point ) and the problem that the other members cannot read  this post anymore and when someone else clicks on the link of this post (on the coordinate of Merit) , it will appear " An Error Has Occurred! "

Maybe the best solution will be :  The post who gets a merit point their owner cannot delete it .

Hopefully that theymos will correct this problem.

You have highlighted a very important issue here. I think there must be an option for admin and staff to see the deleted or edited post already. It is available on most of the forum software. If that option is not present here currently, something must be done about this issue. Nice to see a new member coming up with a good forum suggestion.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you manage your investment in bitcoin if price goes on decreasing? on: February 07, 2018, 06:35:21 PM
Huge settle in the price of bitcoin these days. Some people says that it will goes on decreasing. If so, How do you mange your profits?
How will you react?
Do you sell it at loss?
What will be your next step?
Debiting your money from bitcoin & invest it in other crypto.
Or you find other alternatives.
What will be the choices of alternatives?

I have taken out my Bitcoin investments only twice so far. It is my savings and I need not touch it for next years. I am sure that it will reach a million mark by that time and I am in no hurry to cash before it. Some of my friends who invested to the tune of $12000 ( six months salary), have withdrawn at losses as well.
65  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Going Up - Good News Apper on: February 07, 2018, 06:31:40 PM
Guys, have you noticed that everytime the market goes down, the internet is filled with bad news and apocalyptic news about crypto. But when the coins are rising, only good news are seen?
We must learn to not pay attention to this kind of manipulation

I would like to add one new related to this. Few days before budget was announced in India and the media wrongly reported that India is going to ban crypto in India. Now, things are gettign clear and it is being said that they are after illegal activities related to Bitcoins. So that is a good news for Indian investors and I hope it will push the prices up.

67  Local / India / Re: Bitcoin is a Ponzi Sceheme:ABP News on: February 07, 2018, 06:27:02 PM
Traditional media thinks traditionally I guess. I am worried about the huge negative impact it can have on current investors. It is a popular Indian news channel and that show is also watched by a lot of people. I think they want TRP by making those controversies but at the end the investors will suffer.
68  Other / Meta / Re: The merit system is it a new strategy on: February 07, 2018, 06:23:11 PM
People are posting stupidly long posts that try to appear intelligent, but they are really just spam.  You have people copy and pasting huge ass paragraphs from other sources.  Then the actual good posts don't even receive merit.

Those people will soon realize the huge mistake they are making. Posting copied content here results in permanent ban without warning. This means all their efforts for ranking up will go in vain.
69  Other / Meta / Re: Criteria in making constructive post on: February 07, 2018, 06:21:42 PM
Different people can have different opinions regarding this. I will give importance to two points only. First is that the answer should be helpful. And second is how quick was the member to respond. If you are repeating the same thing for 10th time, it is waste of time for readers.
70  Other / Meta / Re: What is function moderator in this forum ? on: February 07, 2018, 06:20:00 PM
forum should add new rules. act like moderator and abuse other member. insulting. threatening. giving false information about other members is extreamly prohibited

If you have not done anything wrong, there is no need to worry. Just because someone posted your profile in that thread does not make you guilty. Even if you get negative trust, you can put your case with sufficient proof and you will be heard. Just make sure that you follow all the rules properly. If you find someone targeting a particular member repetitively, do make a new thread for it.
71  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 07, 2018, 06:16:39 PM
I can admit in a long-term it might be a good think improving posts quality indeed. But now I so frustrated having a fortnight left till Full member. After that I don't care, as long I can wear avatar and get higher stakes on bounties.

There was a campaign recently which required users to have certain number of earned smerits. I hope they have more such restrictions like having fixed number of merits earned last month. It is fine that you want to make money with signature campaigns but at what cost ? Most of the people do not realize that if they do not improve even after the merit system, we may see more harsh steps from admin. He said in a comment recently that he may stop all the signature campaigns in such a situation.
72  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit questions on: February 07, 2018, 06:13:26 PM
I've got two questions related to sMerits....

Here are my observations regarding this:

1) Since the admin had not disclosed the merit sources, I do not think he will share exact stats related to merits as well.

2) He already declared that he will add enough in local boards as well so there is nothing to worry.

3) You can get rough idea of merits being spend daily by checking stats here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats.
73  Other / Meta / Re: The reality is 99.9% members can never rank up with the new merit system. on: February 07, 2018, 06:10:49 PM
One thing missed. I'm not lazy, I just don't have sMerit to encourage good posters. I spend one and now I need to write a quality post which probably will be skipped or recognized by replying "thank you" because a person doesn't have sMerits in return. Some Legendary and Hero members trying to help new members, but most just send sMerits to each other rising their pride and keeping bounty money to themselves.

With that attitude you will not go ahead. It is not to put a label on all senior members. Also, do you think senior members have all the merit points ? They got more merit points by default (and smerits as well) but that is temporary. That will be gone in a month or so. Merit sources have most of the merits to give and you should expect them to be impartial as they are hired by admin.
74  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a place for us to receive merits? on: February 07, 2018, 06:07:49 PM
I know most of you are aware of the merit system. The newly system implemented in this forum which will make us more competitive than others using our brains to make quality posts. I just noticed why is there a place for receiving of merits. In the last days I've observed, I saw a lot of topics in bitcoin discussion and economy that are more constructive and they are not receiving some merits based on what they have post. I just concluded that merit points give only in the Meta and Serious discussion.

Do not come to conclusions so easily. At the time of writing this post, there are many posts in "bitcoin discussion and economy" that got lot of merit points. You can make a quick glance here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats and decide on your own. Please do not spread rumors as it affects the new comers as well.

Also, in case if you feel that a particular section is getting more attention from members, then just make quality posts there. i think we have enough queries being raised in all sections.

75  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will BTC reach? on: February 05, 2018, 07:04:35 PM
In my opinion, we can expect it to go by $6000 levels. The prices have gone done because of a lot of bad news related to Bitcoins. For instance, Indian media recently reported that India is going to ban Bitcoins completely in India.
76  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Satoshi is dead,If not where is he now on: February 05, 2018, 07:02:30 PM
Is Satoshi is dead,If not where is he now and what is he doing right now..Bitcoin price is down sharply. Can he do something?

He gave us this amazing technology. Now the price is governed by  a number of factors and I do not think one person can control it. It is possible in one situation only when he hold huge amount of Bitcoins himself. Then he can manipulate the prices but he will not do anything that will harm Bitcoin in long run.
77  Other / Meta / Re: Quick question - can I crosspost from Reddit? on: February 05, 2018, 07:00:05 PM
If you are asking that you can copy posts from there or not, that is not allowed. Posting copied content here leads to permanent ban when caught.
78  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 05, 2018, 06:55:27 PM
Merit awards may be too spotty/uneven currently, though it's still too early to say. In addition to continuously adding more sources, if things could still use improvement in this regard in a couple of months, I may do something like decay old sMerit and unused source merit and randomly redistribute the decayed merit. How the random distribution would work would magnify past merit -- so perhaps you would get an increased chance of winning extra merit for every post you've made which has at least 1 merit, but certainly you would not get any extra merit if none of your posts was ever merited.

Please do not give hints to users here in advance. They will start preparing for it accordingly even if it involves taking the wrong route.
79  Other / Meta / Re: Demerits of merit points on: February 05, 2018, 06:50:35 PM
Instead of complaining here is what you should do:

1) If you think someone is misusing the merit system, report him here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2823221.0.

2) If you see a higher rank member making useless posts or copied post , report him using the report to moderator options.

If we all work together, we can minimize the little loopholes left with the new system.
80  Other / Meta / Re: [SMAS] Signature Managers against Spam (light version) on: January 31, 2018, 02:39:21 PM
I have some questions regarding this :

1) So only the members registering for signature campaigns are listed here if they spam after joinignthe campaign ?

2) Is there any notification sent to the member after he gets his name listed here. I read that you do not plan to give them negative trust, so how will that member know about this.
