81  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [6 in Stock] ANTMINER S1 by BITMAIN in Los Angeles, Ca USA-- NEW PRICE! on: April 16, 2014, 06:22:34 AM
Yes I want to buy one. Need it shipped to MA just don't want to overpay  Smiley
82  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: who's going to make the first 50 T/H miner? on: April 16, 2014, 01:44:35 AM
The problem is the chips wont be getting much faster. 20nm chips is about as far as they will go for quite some time. My prediction is you won't see 10TH rigs till next year
83  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [6 in Stock] ANTMINER S1 by BITMAIN in Los Angeles, Ca USA-- NEW PRICE! on: April 16, 2014, 12:05:22 AM
Are you going to adjust the price down a bit since btc is $520 now?
84  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the point of Gridseed miners? on: April 14, 2014, 12:21:50 PM
A quick calculation:

10 Gridseed Kit, 3 MHs = $200 x 10 = $2000

3 MHs at auto switching pool get you, let's see, 0.0045 BTC per MHs, so 0.0135 BTC a day, so you are making $5.805 (at $420/BTC) a day. It will take the buyer about 344 days to break even.

I feel so sorry for those who got snookered.

With gridseed blade it would be 1 blade, 5.8MHs= $1600

.0045 = .0261 BTC/day * $450(current BTC price) = $11.745/day = 136 days ROI

Not bad considering what it used to be but once Titan is released it is game over.

Smooth how much was shipping on your last S1 auction? Trying to figure out how much it will cost for my bid.
86  Economy / Speculation / Re: No good news and price just keeps going up???? on: April 14, 2014, 12:11:08 PM
good to see it finally going up. Hope it stays 450+ and goes up from there but who knows.
87  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: got $1500 to spend, GridSeed? never mined before on: April 14, 2014, 12:08:08 PM
You could go with this gridseed blade:
http://hashra.com/gridseedbladeplus/

It includes everything and can overclock to 850freq for 5.8MH/s. Your other option is antminer s1's, you could get 3 of them with some btc leftover. scrypt vs sha-256 mining
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Compare profitability: Scrypt Scrypt-N multipool, Vertcoin, Doge Litecoin P2Pool on: April 14, 2014, 06:25:02 AM
On Ghash multi does anyone know if it is better to check "drop miner jobs when switching coins" or leave it off? I guess having the miner drop the job and go to the most profitable coin may offset losing work on current job but how long does a job normally run for? I have 5300kh/s and if I run 60 jobs a min then dropping the job makes sense but if it is 1 job/5 min I probably would want to finish it.

Does anyone have a better understanding of this?

90  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: April 13, 2014, 05:00:26 AM
3 ants will push it but should be doable. I wouldn't overclock though.

So basically, I can split an Ant between 2 of these? Each PSU has 4 PCI-E cables, pretty sure the explanation is clear enough with just text, but if a diagram helps let me know. No plans to OC.

Would be like this:
Ant1
PSU a

Ant2
PSU a & b (cable from each)

Ant3
PSU b
This is absolutely fine as there is no actual crossloading. Each blade in an S1 acts independently when it comes to power so you're essentially powering 3 miners on PSU a and 3 on PSU b.

Problems can happen when people power one miner with two PSUs due to crossloading issues.

I got the above configuration working without any issues, thanks.

Next question, pushing it more of course... Can I power 2 Antminers with a Corsair TX850w? Neither one is over-clocked.

Yes.

Oh, super! Thanks for the prompt response!!

I have a related question.
I have a Plat 1kW PSU and a 650W Gold PSU

Can I get away with running 5 blades on the 1k and 3 blades on the 650?  So I have 4 S1s

I assume you are going to overclock these correct? If so you would be right at 1000w+ on your 1k plat psu. What you could do is lower the clock of one S1 on your 1k psu until you are under 1k watts. Most people like to have much more headroom but you might be ok(I push some of my plat psu's close to max). Use a Kill A Watt meter(buy at lowes or home depot) to see where you are at and go from there. Your 3 blades on the 650 should be ok.

In my testing my 393 clocked S1's are right at 400w on platinum psu.
91  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup [now in HD!] on: April 13, 2014, 03:58:25 AM
How many cubes can you put on a psu if you don't overclock them? Is it possible to get 4 on a 1000w psu. After reading endless threads it sounds like most problems come from turbo mode but wasn't really sure if anyone puts more than 2 per psu.
92  Economy / Auctions / Re: AntMiner S1 on: April 13, 2014, 02:59:28 AM
I will start off with .6 BTC
93  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.893 BTC for 180GH/s on: April 12, 2014, 02:35:05 AM
I thought they said next S1 batch was going to be today? Guess I will have to keep watching the site.
94  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Question/Opinon] Too good to be true?? 38Gh/s cube for $60US on: April 10, 2014, 07:09:06 PM
I cancelled my order. search in aliexpress for "Block Erupeter" and you will see a ton of them with the exact same description and pictures. Not sure if any of them are legit but I don't see how all of them could be.
95  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: April 09, 2014, 07:33:08 PM
Any suggestions on how to power 6 cubes?

It sounds like I should power 2 each with a CX750m or something like that.

What is the cheapest PSU someone has been able to use for 2 cubes overclocked? Anyone have 3 cubes OC'd on single PSU?

I was thinking of trying this one. 2 rails both over 25 amps. I have read this thread among other threads on the web but no obvious choice:

What is the psu rated at? I want to make sure it can handle 400 watts at the wall if I OC it.

Even if VMC was legit those prices are insane.
98  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / prediction on next diff increase? on: March 23, 2014, 03:23:05 PM
A couple sites appear to be around 15%. I was hoping it would be less and with Antminer S2's hitting the market I don';t think this will change unless people stop hashing with old miners. opinions.

99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / White flag! the fun is being sucked out of my body. on: March 21, 2014, 04:03:42 AM
I still have some faith but it is low. I got into this because my dork skills could do something 99% of the population couldn't do in building mining rigs that could hash like no others. The thrill, excitement, building, knowledge of clocking up or down (gpu and cpu), endless hours tweaking because I enjoy it and it is all going away. I thought for an instant that my love for hardware would payoff and us tech kings would rise above. The fact is fun is being pulled out of me like a barbed wire being pulled from my mouth to ass. It isn't about the profits but doing something I love and making bank as a result. Doing something most can't even understand how to do. Maybe we made it to easy for them and these rigs that are plug and play just cater to people with money.

This was our thing and you know what I mean. We are the ones watercooling and building rigs that push the limits just because we can. Not to play a game but to push ourselves. Our domain is being taken over by people that know nothing and expect us to get their rig up to spec.

My rant is almost done. Is the solution to not help them with configs and sell our gpus to people thinking of a quick buck when market is crap? We will rise again and Asics will plague our domain whether good or bad.

Before this happens a spark in the market would be great. A coin doing DNA recombination or some shit like that.
100  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What is your guess on how long the Antminer S1 will be profitable for? on: March 20, 2014, 04:12:38 PM
The S2 has half the power costs, so will add like 10 weeks lifetime. But not shippinjg before in 3-4 weeks, so make it 6 weeks longer. And it will start earning at higher difficulty lower profits.

Yes, totally agree with your calculations.
I don't understand people who buy new S2.
They won't earn any money, except if they don't pay kWh (for example  : plug S2 at work and not at home ...)
S2 is more expensive per Ghs than S1.
S1 can work during S2 delivery time...

S2 cost : 6.09 BTC / 1000 Ghs= 0.00609 BTC / Ghs
S1 cost : 0.988 BTC / 180 Ghs = 0.00548 BTC / Ghs, so a little bit more because S1 need PSU.

If Bitcoin value do not grow, people will lose money buying S2.

I'm wrong ?

It will pay for itself in like 90 days:
