81  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it allowed to buy someone's account? on: July 02, 2018, 01:38:49 PM
Buying an account is not tricky and it is in my opinion full of special black markets. Yes, it is real, but I would not do it. In rules forum clearly not spelled out that this permitted to, but I think this will not give you benefit to. So if you decide to do it it is better not to write about it. In addition, if you still buy an account, do not forget to change your username and Password for your own safety!

You can't change your username. I'll be stuck to my silly name untill I'm Legendary.  Embarrassed

Well you are still a newbie, you will get used to your "silly" name. Are you saying hi (as in hello) or laughing? Not that silly.

It's awesome to see all these legendary posts from way back when. I've seen many of them satoshi, vitalik, charles, and so on.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can a goverment trace you have BTC? on: July 02, 2018, 01:05:35 PM
Here in my country I think they will work with our two exchanges and the banks. The banks can track the funds to our exchanges and then when you sell off for some profit or just sell you get your funds in your bank account. At the end of the year you have to declare income and so they will find you.
84  Economy / Exchanges / Re: South Africa set to Launch fully-functional Bitcoin ATM on: July 02, 2018, 12:58:14 PM
South Africa has total 4 Bitcoin ATM machine. I have an information.

Johannesburg 1 ATM

Nelspruit 1 ATM

Pretoria 2 ATM

 Is it true?

Nope, this is not true. Back in 2014 there were one but back then not many people even knew about Bitcoin. I think this time around it will be a whole new ball game. I for one cannot wait.

You should follow all social media channels so we get all the news as it happens, they will surely announce before hand which exchanges will be taking part. Plus you get to see a lot of behind the scenes information.

87  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your trading strategy? on: June 29, 2018, 08:24:32 AM
You will always hear "Buy Low, Sell High" but its easier said than done
Common sense tells us this is a good strategy.
In practice, though, if you try to earn by day-trading, I don't see how it can work consistently.
For example, I can make 10 consecutive good decisions ("buy low, sell high" over and over again),
and improve my position on a coin by 30%.
Everything looks fine, everything seems to work fine.
And then, in a couple of hours, the market goes crazy, and I lose 40%.

Yep. I just stay away from day trading. I've made some good money in the last year but I think it was purely luck on my side. Everything I buy now is for long term, like 2-5 years. That's the only strategy I have.

89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin mining geography on: June 28, 2018, 06:43:53 AM
you can mine bitcoin anywhere on earth, but is there a place on earth where the most profitable to mine bitcoin. maybe Antarctica? I would like to know the opinions of people from different places and countries.

I think Africa is the best play for mining of bitcoin because there the electricity is very very cheap in respect to other countries, so mining there could be very very cheap and beneficial and moreover people there in Africa are honest enough so that hacking wallets of bitcoin is also very uncommon so you can get very good proportion of profit when you mine your bitcoins in Africa and Venezuela is also good for mining bitcoins.

Seeing as AFRICA is a continent..

Electricity is SOUTH Africa is neither cheap or reliable.. as for the honest statement, I don't know where you got that from. Hackers are everywhere my friend and dishonesty is not geographical.
90  Economy / Speculation / Re: Better Late than Never? on: June 28, 2018, 06:06:27 AM
Huh I couldn't wait any longer and jumping into cryptocurrency pretty late. I understand I have invested at the high end as of late, but with the rapid growth over the last several weeks I would be a fool not to jump in.

What are the predictions of the bubble before it bursts and drops back down?

Also, I imagine it should become my goal, as an investor, to actually use the bitcoin for what it was created to do. Peer to Peer purchasing in a free market, not relying on the banks or 3rd party taking their cut. Where can I begin actually using bitcoin to purchase normal household items?

This is a veryyy old post you guys! I see his last post was on Jan 02. I wonder if he sold soon after or maybe he is still hanging on?? Dec 16 the price was at 17k
91  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy more and HODL!!! on: June 28, 2018, 05:55:10 AM
It's definitely a great time to buy now. Just be sure you don't bet the farm, the possibility is there that the price could even go lower to the $3000 mark. So just make sure if you DO buy you are in it for the long haul.

95  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Roger Ver to be sued for defrauding bitcoin newbies. on: June 23, 2018, 11:33:44 AM
The thing is whenever you choose to spend your hard earned money, you need to take responsibility for your own actions. Before you invest in anything you do your own research and if you are either too greedy or lazy to do that it's your own fault entirely. There is always risk involved in any investment. All comes back to never spend more than you can afford to loose.
96  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you buy bitcoin in December 2017? on: June 22, 2018, 11:47:29 AM
I bought around Oct 20017 for the first time, then sold in Dec for some nice profit which I then invested in some altcoins. But very early Jan I sold most of everything. I've bought some in the last month but not much. I think we are going to go even lower in the next month or so and then I'll be buying.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto currency in five years! on: June 21, 2018, 11:26:02 AM
Well hopefully that is true, but here in South Africa the majority of people don't even know what "this Bitcoin" is. Many people don't even have bank accounts and here that is the only way to get your hands on Bitcoin. Bitcoin is 9 years old already, I think it will take at least another 10 - 15 years.

Do kiosks or even ATMs not exist there yet? If bank account is really the only way, then that's quite a big impediment for people to acquire Bitcoin.

Nope nothing, I saw recently that there will be a ATM up in Johannesburg later on this year. But no exact date. There used to be one 2 years ago also somewhere in Johannesburg but I don't know what happened to it.

99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I hold my altcoin for years in my wallet? on: June 20, 2018, 02:21:53 PM
Well if the project goes on and they keep on developing it will increase in value. But if the dev's abandon the project it will sure take a nose dive. Try to invest in solid project though especially if the plan is to keep the tokens/coins for a long period of time. These days there are soo many new projects and so few solid transparent projects. Good luck to you. Hope you find that in a few years it's worth a lot..  Wink
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bithumb hack affect Altcoin too? on: June 20, 2018, 02:15:18 PM
Yes definitely it will have an impact on Altcoins. Once bitcoin goes into the red 99.9% of all the other coins take a dive. But 30mil is not that big of a deal though and even the hack itself should not be such a big deal really. Where I live they rob the banks/cash in transit vehicles daily.  Huh
