Just FYI, FedoraCoin adapted SBC's 1.4 difficulty algo for itself but it turns out the difficulty only adjusts up, not down, eg. we had 1gH/s when FedoraCoin started and the difficulty jumped to 38+, but when people left and the hashrate went down to 400mH/s the difficulty didn't change, and it hasn't changed since, so we had to go back to DogeCoin's difficulty algo for now

Sigh, I hate being a lone developer, any mistakes made can only be blamed on myself ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Anyway I unproudly and unhappily announce: 0.43 released!Update before block 10000 if using 0.42 or block 2500 if using below 0.42, or risk a hard fork!Changes: - Block reward tiers have changed back to what they were before: Block 0 - 99999 = 1 - 5,000,000 coin reward Block 100000 - 199999 = 1 - 2,500,000 coin reward Block 200000 - 299999 = 1 - 1,250,000 coin reward Block 300000 - 399999 = 1 - 625,000 coin reward Block 400000 - 499999 = 1 - 312,500 coin reward Block 500000 - 599999 = 1 - 156,250 coin reward Block 600000+ = static 50000 coin reward The reason for it, as someone joyfully pointed out to me on 4chan, is that the new block reward tiers I put in 0.42 would have only lasted 41.6 days until miners started getting the static 50000 coin reward, obviously this isn't acceptable so I had to revert it. I failed to check this before I changed the tiers (blame christmas ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) ) and I'm awfully sorry about that. Download from http://fedoraco.in/, http://fedoracoin.net/ or http://207.12.89.21/Hopefully this will be the last update needed for a long while. Is GIT updated? Thanks for all your hard work! Yep git has the latest code, thanks for your support ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Yeah, their frontend is broked. I went on their IRC and they basically told me they won't do anything. Pull your workers out of their pool ASAP and mine elsewhere until they get their pool together already. Nice lie, the pool owner posted up http://fedora2.coin-pool.org/ and said it's a replacement for now, haven't tried it myself since I don't mine there Yeah, where was that exactly? Because when I went on IRC they told me to use the other URL because that one was simply a temp. Go sit and spin shill. [EDIT]: BTW, just tried it and it still won't work for me. Whoops! :^) I'm not a shill, if I was a shill I'd tell you to mine on http://fedoracore.x64.me instead since we've had no problems since I upgraded it. Developer is active in the #fedoracoin channel ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Also the pool developer was there - he is fixing things, come and ask him ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I don't know why people post problems in this thread which is hardly read when they can come on IRC and talk to us direct

It's been submitted to Symantec so they can add it to their safe lists, that's 1 of the 3 (yes only 3!) antivirus vendors that pick us up as suspicious down.
If anybody seriously thinks it's infected with anything they can always compile it themselves, it's not hard to do at all once you've figured it out and then you can compile any coin you come across

>it was your idea >you are a real company
K, you guys have fun with this scammer from India that will have dog dicks pointed to fedoracoin.com
Have fun shitposting and adding evidence while I get this dispute underway ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

You obviously aren't a lawyer because, I can do whatever I want with these domains.
I can point them to dog dicks all day and you can't do anything about it.
Why?
Because the registration date is before your idea was conceptualized. You even stated that you copy pasted the code from doge on the 22nd. You have NO prior work dating publicly before Dec 22nd.
Meaning upon registration of the domain, I could not possibly have acted in bad faith.
Also, you are too poor to afford a real American attorney, so who the fuck are you kidding right now.
>what is cybersquatting
|
|
|
You have to prove bad faith.
Also I own
fedoracoin.com fedoratips.com fedoratip.com
Will be directing them to malware.

https://archive.installgentoo.net/g/thread/S38975955#p38979250Here is the thread where you can see the astro-turfing by the OP "MystPhysX" is the Indian who gets Doxed half-way through the thread. The creators of this coin are pretty fucking terrible, I am only here because I thought the idea was cool on Dec 20th 2 days before they made this hack job. https://archive.installgentoo.net/g?ghost=yes&search_text=fedoracoin&task=search&offset=144Nobody seriously talked about FedoraCoin until I started developing it, so what are you talking about? Also make sure you look at the posts I linked, I quote: Hey guys I registered fedoracoin.com fedora tip.com and fedoratips.com
>all will be redirected to dogecoin.com
YOU FAIL"
and Also I own
fedoracoin.com fedoratips.com fedoratip.com
Will be directing them to malware.
>FUCK >YOU >FEDORA >COIN >& ur 2 minute COPY PASTA
Also from looking at your post history I like how you offered to sell those domains to us, time to rev up them domain disputes!

I don't know what is wrong with your community here, they scrape the web looking for new coins and then try to crap on them as soon as they can, while also stopping the developers from refuting their points. The only thing I see on this board is shilling and disinfo, I really hope nobody actually takes advice from you guys. I'm sure the admin of this site didn't intend for a community like this, well at least I hope he didn't.
The devs just copy pasted Doge after they found out some people from 4chan were going to make a new fedora coin (someone mentioned it in a doge thread on /g/ originally. And people were doing it on reddit on Dec 20th when I registered fedoracoin.com) They compiled their source in a rush for a reason, they weren't the only ones working on this coin. The "devs" (aka me) started on it from that 4chan thread. You were there too, and I remember you saying something like "haha fedoracoin? good thing I registered fedoracoin.com to redirect it to dogecoin.com just in case this happened" You can probably validate this in the archives Edit: yep, just like I thought, the archives don't lie: https://archive.installgentoo.net/g/thread/S38955307#p38956392https://archive.installgentoo.net/g/thread/S38975955#p38978705Nice shilling friend :^)

If anyone from CryptoCoinTalk is here, please post this message from the developer (me) up because for some reason I "don't have permission to register" ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) If you're not from CCT please read it as if it was addressed toward CCT, I hold no grudges toward BTCTalk whatsoever and meant to post this on CCT -startrant- I don't know what is wrong with your community here, they scrape the web looking for new coins and then try to crap on them as soon as they can, while also stopping the developers from refuting their points. The only thing I see on this board is shilling and disinfo, I really hope nobody actually takes advice from you guys. I'm sure the admin of this site didn't intend for a community like this, well at least I hope he didn't. To start off, yes, there was a premine. How much? 3 blocks. After that it was released into the public domain. Why I ask, do you all go crazy over a 3 block premine while there's a thread about Atom on here which had 10,000 blocks mined (about 5x as many coins), but was praised and accepted by you all? It seems very suspicious to me. To that guy who likes to make his "lists of things bad about this coin" (seriously, I've seen you make one of these lists in about 4 different coin threads, wtf?): 1. 500,000,000,000 (do you think they realise what would mean in fiat currency) That's the point 2. Claim to no premine, but the evidence is against it Too bad the evidence is that we never claimed to no premine 3. Stock graphics Graphics is what chooses a coins success now? 4. Nothing new in concept, and an absolute flood of coins in the first few days Again, that's the point 5. And that fedoracoin.conf file setup strikes me as odd, but perhaps I am spending too much time on AnonCoins website I don't know what to say to this, I guess you just needed something to bump your list to have 5 points -endrant- Other problem. Difficulty is currently at 35.816, with a block time of ~2mn since nearly 2 hours (43 blocks in 106mn). Difficulty is supposed to retarget every 10 blocks. What's happening ?
Not really sure, I'm looking into it right now, we're using the algo that SBC is going to use after block 312000 so maybe the developer of that didn't test it properly.. I'll have to run some tests myself

Just a reminder that http://fedoracore.x64.me just upgraded servers, now with double the cores and way better software! (nginx + mariadb ftw)

|

http://fedoracore.x64.me should be running much better now that I upgraded it to nginx Also a new update changing block rewards will be coming soon, I'll post more details in a bit

qt-0.4 crashes on start. What's going on? Dogecoin runs fine. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fdl.dropboxusercontent.com%2Fu%2F17275510%2Ffedora.png&t=663&c=9ve2Ma-uB2LhnA) Hmm thanks for the report, I'll look into it now, didn't try running it without a blockchain so it must be having a problem making the genesis block

Getting an RPC server down error on fedoracore.
Should be fixed now, I was working on upgrading us to 0.4 First block we found since the upgrade was worth 4,579,175 coins ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) I also found the problem we had with the server dying, it should be much more stable now
|
|
|
So I've just discovered a small error I made when I started on TIPS, it turns out this is a good error though, because now I've fixed it everybody who updates to the new client will have their coins multiplied by 5. About to upload the code to github now, binaries will come afterward
|
|
|
EDIT: How many confirmations needed per block???
30, same as DogeCoin Windows Qt wallet is up! I can't update the OP because I don't have edit permissions yet, but I can assure you it's the real deal, the github in the OP is registered under my name after all https://mega.co.nz/#!oUt2iDqK!Gm5CFCZrSJt-lR0_Qi2QBCl_tVV6pzduKn9H_mhIahQ Many thanks to tonokip from IRC for helping us to compile this, without him it would have taken forever because Qt + Windows is one horrible mixture ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Edit: welp, thanks to our extensive bug testing we've just found a small bug; when you send a payment only one fifth of what you send will go through, don't worry though because only that one fifth will be debited from your account. We're looking into it as we speak
