82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the King ! Why ? on: October 01, 2018, 04:43:34 PM
Bitcoin is the top digital currency as it was Tue first digital currency to actually succeed. Quite a few programmers have tried to develop a digital asset AMD none suceeded before Satoshi created a model which could be totally decentralized, and doesn't depend on any human factor, highly secure and impervious to attacks (except from a group of networks pooling together, it's highly unlikely, as Tue system is designed to out pace any attacker), it's also transparent and neutral.

A number of currencies has been designed on bitcoins model, some even improving on the blockchain technology, but none has been able to match BTC in terms of adoption and relevance and also value.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Continues to Consolidate As Volatility Reaches Lows of 2018 on: October 01, 2018, 04:38:09 PM
The market is uncertain and unpredictable. But there has been nothing in the past few weeks to suggest that the market would recover in the final quarter of the year.
This period in the year usually leads to market pumps but with pending decision regarding bitcoin ETF and increased restrictions in some countries this year might be different.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Making it known on: September 30, 2018, 06:44:36 PM
many people here are talking about the prospects of crypto to become a currency that will replace fiat. ok, that is possible.

Bitcoin is meant to serve as an alternative to fiat, and not a replacement. I personally don't think bitcoin Cam replace fiat, as it is a decentralized protocol with no central control system, and high volatility.
It also has the advantage of speed and efficiency in transactions, and also transparency and neutrality.

one thing is bothering me, though. how we could explain to everyone, from a child who obviously needs some money to an old men who still wants to buy some food and a newspaper, what it is all about?

I think it's important to educate children on knowledge of technology, but not because they need some money, but to build the future of our world on the relevant innovations and technologies.
Learning never stops, any aged person interested in learning about new innovations can always jump in, but you can't force those not interested to learn.
85  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which features do you find crucial to evaluate a trading platform? on: September 30, 2018, 06:28:20 PM
I personally look for high liquidity. This is one of the top features of a good trading platform.
Trading volume is also an important factor.
This is of course after security. An exchange should guarantee the safety of assets on its platform.
86  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Top 5 Rules For New Traders. on: September 29, 2018, 06:54:35 PM
The first rule of anyone interested in trading is to practise and learn the rudiments of trading. There are many aspects to trading and a potential trader should know how to read charts and predict the market direction.

A few suggestions:

  • Never buy into coins that are being actively shilled around the web, the time to get in has been long gone, as whales have their bags full at much much lower prices.

If you are a fast follower you can join such a train and make profits at the top, before a drop. Buy once it's already a bandwagon, it's too late. [/list]
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETN are like a skyrocket? on: September 29, 2018, 06:50:28 PM
DYOR. You seem to have a fair have basic knowledge about the currency. And I think Electroneum is a good project with potential, and also healthy trading volume. No one can advise you to buy or not. It's your investment, so do your own research.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is "Money Out of Thin Air"? on: September 28, 2018, 04:31:52 PM
That's like inferring that mobile networks (data and call time), are made from thin air, cause they are not tangible commodities
High computing power is put into bitcoin mining, and this is the intrinsic value.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What "event" will be the nail in the coffin for your Bitcoin goals? on: September 28, 2018, 04:10:22 PM
Bitcoin as a digital asset was created to serve as an alternative to fiat currencies. And afford users freedom and control over their assets, lossing that control would possibly make me leave bitcoin.

Flaw in the protocol / The introduction of a much better technology etc.)

A flaw in the protocol is unlikely, but it could also trigger me to leave.
I would be forced out of bitcoin, if there it is flippened by another currency, with better applications and utility (and increased adoption), I don't know if this counts as a better technology.

But if BTC is usurped in terms of market capitalization, value and adoption, I would switch to the other currency. (bitcoin would stiil be an alternative).
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin investors more focus than altcoin investors? on: September 28, 2018, 03:57:22 PM
Anyone investing funds in a project should be profit oriented, this includes regular research ant staying updated, technical and foundamental analysis.
Those (bitcoin and altcoin investors) who are not focused on the factors are likely going to lose out.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which stocks to HODL? on: September 27, 2018, 08:50:46 AM
This market trades on digital currency and not stocks.
And for hodling, established currencies is the best buy, particularly bitcoin. It is easy to manage, even by a newbie, and when investing you don't need knowledge on technical or foundamental analysis. Although, you would most likely learn more, if you pay attention
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any Blockchain based New Projects with trading? on: September 27, 2018, 08:45:44 AM
The blockchain technology has been adopted and applied in many areas of life, health, security, transport, gaming etc. This are goods and services.

However, I don’t see much happening in the trading sector, of goods and service.

Bitcoin has once been used to purchase a pizza. That's trading right?
Also various outlets both online and offline are accepting top digital currencies as means of payment.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google ends cryptocurrency ad ban. on: September 25, 2018, 08:37:49 PM
With growing acceptance of cryptocurrency by governments, so ail platforms would likely soften restrictions on crypto ads.
This would go a long way in convincing people of the legitimacy of cryptocurrency and the potential. They would as well be exposed to the risks.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why I can't give merit to anyone ? on: September 25, 2018, 08:31:31 PM
I wouldn't say we were comfortable, everyone wants to be credited for quality posts, but users (especially bounty hunters) could live without it, and earn a living.
The new system now makes quality contributions necessary, if you ever hope to rank up. And I think that was the idea behind it.
And with the reduced spam, we can say it's working.
95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and is limit, why will use it? on: September 25, 2018, 08:26:34 PM
The total supply is fixed at 21million bitcoin, and once the remaining 4million are mined, no other bitcoin can be created. And putting in consideration lost wallets the supply is reduced.
This scarcity would be beneficial for growth in the future.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Almost won 2 BTC from an exchange ~ My heart broke on: September 24, 2018, 06:02:10 PM
It is a contest and the best is rewarded, you where just a few clicks shy, and someone else was closer.
It's sad, but it's also a lesson; try harder next time. Best of luck.
97  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What is pushing Ripple Rising prices. I hope to hear the opinions of experts on: September 24, 2018, 05:58:40 PM
Or rather what 'pushed' ripple price up.
It showed a quick, steady rise, Flippening Ethereum at the no 2 spot by market cap. And then experienced a steady, quick drop and lossing that spot.
A lot of factors could have caused the rise, it probably was undervalued and traders realized that and bought in, creating FOMO and a huge pump, and when people starting dumping it created FUD and the price plummeted.
98  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legalities of Bitcoin on: September 24, 2018, 05:51:37 PM
A huge number of countries are quickly identifying the potential OK cryptocurrency and the block ledger system.
I believe the most impact is felt by the citizens as it gives them a key to self sustainance and entrepreneurship.
All the gov't has to do is declare it legal.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto market rebounding? on: September 23, 2018, 07:49:26 AM
It is quite a slow recovery, and there are splashes of red inbetween the greens.
I think people are still skeptical, especially with the ETF decision coming in a few days.
The current growth is not a steady one, we can see what happened with XRP, pumps and drops.
It's a good sign though.
100  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fundamental vs Technical? on: September 23, 2018, 07:35:48 AM
I'm of the opinion that foundamental and technical analysis rather complement each other, and can both be combined effectively to arrive at the best possible speculation when trading.
It can equally be applied when investing, as it is also speculations
It only applies to already established currencies and not during ICOs.
