81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Codex Protocol - Decentralized Registry for Art & Collectibles on: July 25, 2018, 08:53:30 PM
Thank Devs for doing this project!!!
But here some questions:
What's max sum of investment?
How you protect intellectual property?

Hi there, with regards to investment size, please view the token details here: https://www.codexprotocol.com/token-sale.html

With regards to protecting intellectual property, Mark Lurie recently added this in the AMA

Secrecy and confidentiality are indeed important in the art world.

I don't think blockchain will change this.

I think that people should be entitled to share what they want and be private about what they want.  In Codex, users control the privacy of their data.  That's one of the greatest benefits of the blockchain.

Blockchain also ensures that the source of any information they do share is verified.

Hello! This is a wonderful project for connoisseurs of rare things. I want to wish his team success, and users - a pleasant work with him.
Hello! I completely agree with you! This is a cool project and for me, as a collector, it is of considerable interest.
Oh, that's interesting. I'm more suited to projects in terms of material benefits. And what do you collect?
And, are you chasing money? H, it also has a right to life. I collect postage stamps. And I really hope for this project.
I invest money and make a profit. Actually, I view this project as a promising investment. He has a reliable team!
I understood you. I'm wondering, what kind of product will be offered on this platform? And will there be any restrictions?

Collectibles will be offered on the platform such as art, wine, jewelry, watches, collectible cars, etc
So this in itself is a restriction, it is not ebay for example Smiley

I am reading your thread on the forum, it's very helpful!
Is there any info about safe data storing at codex?
I wondered how that would be achieved in practice.

I want to ask something
What kind of cryptocurrency do you interact with?
The platform will use CODX tokens otherwise known as Codex Coin.
You can contribute with ETH, if you need any help ask the team on telegram here: https://t.me/codexprotocol

Is team planning to add some other currencies? What about fiat? Thank you.

No you can only contribute with Ethereum, if you need any help with how to get hold of some with fiat you could do some google searches on how to buy ETH, for instance a big one that I use is Coinbase.  Grin

I have some stupid questions now, be carefully😅
How can I get tokens?
I must buy it, right?
And if so, is the payment going through a certain program?
Where can I find it?

Hi there, you will need a few things.

Goto https://www.codexprotocol.com/token-sale.html and sign up for the sale day 2, which will be held on 25th July

Pass through KYC. You will need to provide ID and proof of address

You will need Ethereum or ETH to contribute and an ERC-20 compatible wallet.

If you need help with any of this talk to a member of the support team on telegram here: https://t.me/codexprotocol

Good explanation, it was helpful for me too!
Tell me please how much time will KYC check take? Actually I don't know how it works Roll Eyes

The process is usually accepted straight away, however sometimes it can go to "manual review" this means a member of the team must look at the application and get back to you, this can take a few days, usually done within 48 hours

There are many coins on the market already.
Have you some solid competitive advantages?
What can you boast about?

The Codex Protocol and CodexCoin will be adopted as the only cryptocurrency by The Codex Consortium, a group of major stakeholders in the A&C space who facilitate over $6 Billion in sales to millions of bidders across tens of thousands of auctions from 5,000 auction houses in over 50 countries.

Not only this, they have a strong team that has come from other successful businesses and the team's advisor list has some heavy hitters in the Art and Collectables industry including Brook Hazelton, President, Christie's America.

Previously, the collection of stamps was very popular. Probably, now only true connoisseurs are engaged in this. By the way, what about the old paintings? I think that they can not be sold on this project
Why do you think so? Justify your opinion.
I believe that the original paintings are now not difficult to forge skillful artists. How can I check via the Internet that I will buy a really original canvas? This is the problem

This is exactly why Codex is making it's platform, so that Art and Collectables are fully tracked. It will rely on experts when pieces are added to the platform to judge authenticity, these experts include auction houses specialists, dealers, gallerists and appraisers. They will be paid for their efforts through commisons or fees.

You can read more about this from section 4.3 in the whitepaper from page 11: https://docsend.com/view/n4sbws8
