82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Story time - your ICO success stories and biggest fails on: November 14, 2018, 12:10:30 PM
What is certain is that my good story when investing in ICO only happened last year, that this year there have also been a number of successful ICOs but unlike iICO which was launched in 2017. And the worst story is when I participated in ICO scams in a row (maybe it's better if I don't mention the name of the project).

If they are scams then why not mention them? I think it would benefit others
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Token price dropping after ICO, why so? on: November 14, 2018, 09:27:06 AM
There are many possibilities that cause that to happen,
1. The development team is not very good at developing their project
2. Investors who are impatient and want to immediately benefit from their investment
3. ICO SCAM
4. fatal errors that occurred in the development of the project that caused investors to lose trust

Maybe that is some reason for ICO prices falling at cheaper prices
Not bad.
But I think more important that too many private and closed sales for investors and funds. They buy by very cheap price and after sell with good profit but don't need to wait a big growth. And it's main problem for me. From one side, funds are good, but for profit it's very bad especially without locks

Yes, I agree with you. I think locks are essential in these cases.
84  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best exchange for a new crypto investor? on: November 13, 2018, 10:42:48 AM
What I would suggest is to use is a multi-exchange platform, which allows you to manage all the exchanges from one place. There are not that many services like that online. The only one that is still free to use is bitsgap.com (please let me know if you know any other). So the idea is to add all the crypto exchanges into the interface and and have them all in one place. This way you can easily manage and trade all the coins you have.

Are this type of sites safe? Seems like one extra layer of something centralized.

They are safe, as you are not sending them any money and not allowing to make any withdrawals. They just connect to your exchanges via API and allow you to manage all the trading websites from one interface. For example, I trade my coins on 6 different exchanges and to make the deals I need to keep 6 different tabs opened. On top of that, all of those exchanges have different design, which is sometimes a bit confusing. Aggregative platform has a single design for all of the accounts (and sometimes even has some trading features that original websites don't). Even if I don't want to trade my coins, I still can login to one interface to check the current state on all of the connected exchanges (aka portfolio tracking), which I find very comfortable feature.

Oh, ok, I see. Seems interesting though.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discussion: Crypto backed by gold, what else? on: November 13, 2018, 09:48:56 AM
Hm right now we have crypto backed by asset like Gemera, its backed by columbian emerald. I think its good for investor who wanna get proof of asset. You know that USDT is one of stable crypto and people will change to USDT when the crypto market crash.
Nothing to worry about project that backed by something, during the ICO team collaborate with miner company its fine.

Yeah, I have heard about it. Are you part of the project? Just saw you have Gemera branding and stuff in your signature.

give me a little more pictures of the analysis of your charts for 2018, I will be happy to discuss the price of bitcoin with you here

Would be glad to discuss Bitcoin price with you. What do you think about the market situation right now? Do you see the BTC price changing a lot in November and December, or the stable situation continues?

By the way, we are almost half way into the Q4 and the price has been stable for months now.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Story time - your ICO success stories and biggest fails on: November 12, 2018, 08:13:42 AM
Just read this article about ICOs and their history - http://cryptofinance24.com/the-first-icos-a-history-of-crypto-fundraising-p410-171.htm

Made me wonder, what are your ICO success stories and your failures? What has been your most successful investment, where have you lost the most etc?
Want to hear some tales.

Let's go..!
If people were honest you'll find out that most experiences that you are going to get in this thread are negative ones, I have only invested in a single ico and it didn't turn out very well, the project is still in development but it's going to take a lot more than what the developers thought and I haven't made any money out of it, and I have not invested in any other project because I promised to myself that if I lost money in that ico I will never invest in an ico again.

Yes, I see that. A lot of negative experiences. Is that what the ICO market is right now?
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Token price dropping after ICO, why so? on: November 09, 2018, 06:26:09 PM
Token prices usually fall immediately when the ICO is finished, there are many causes, one of which is that the founder of ICO may not support coins that have started to enter the exchange, and maybe also because of the influence of the bounty campaigns that sell the tokens obtained.

What do you mean by "the founder of ICO may not support coins that have started to enter the exchange". Sorry, no getting the point. Please elaborate  Smiley
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Token price dropping after ICO, why so? on: November 09, 2018, 02:20:32 PM
Yes, the market situation isn't very good. Just checked some statistics of this year and the number of ICO's have started to fall after May. When in May there was 144 ICO's, then in September there was only 56 - a drastic fall. Seems that the market situation being the way it is, is heavily influencing the number of ICO's been conducted.

94  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling 2 books: Crypto for Beginners & Bob the Blocktrain, by Savii Publishing on: November 07, 2018, 11:57:37 AM
Pm me the price for Bob the Blocktrain. Saw this book with my own eyes at the Malta Blockchain Summit and it was a fantastic piece. Great idea to teach kids about blockchain in a playful way through storytelling. Unfortunately they were not selling them there. Ok, lmk, thanks!
95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good Telegram groups for beginners to ask questions, chat? on: November 07, 2018, 08:51:37 AM
The only recognized community were you can garner cryptocurrency knowledge happens to be this forum(bitcoin talk), quality discussions as well as healthy conversations go on in here all day long, and other members are always here to answer to your questions and help you out in a sticky situation

So stick around, read, learn and get involved in the discussions based on the area of your interest...

Most of those telegram channels/groups are used to perpetuate fraudulent activities,so steer clear and be careful with them

Yes, that I know. But was also wondering about Telegram. Certainly the majority of the chats are not quality groups. Only for promotion, dedicated to a project/ICO etc. But there has to be some good ones as well, I'm pretty sure. And to find those good ones, that's why I posted this thread.
No bad words about bitcointalk obviously, number one crypto forum hands down!
96  Other / Beginners & Help / Good Telegram groups for beginners to ask questions, chat? on: November 07, 2018, 08:41:34 AM
Hi there!

I know there are lots of crypto and blockchain groups on Telegram, most likely thousands. Every ICO has their own. But, for a newbie, who wants to learn, have educational conversations, chat about crypto - what are good groups for that?

Thanks!

Perhaps it will be interesting to someone. I don't add new Mixtapes very often, but over time I try to add something new.

98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs in 2018 not same as 2017. on: November 06, 2018, 03:10:36 PM
this is my own opinion but it may help others.

I have found that all the ICOs i have invested in have launched at almost the ICO price but in a few days dipped below the ICO prices by half or 5X for some.

With this i have discovered its better not to invest in an ICO but wait for the launch and the DIP to buy it at the corrected prices made by market forces.
Its just too hard to tell the real or recommended value of a token in an ICO these days.

Hope this helps to the new investors thinking of ICOs

Good point. They are discussing similar things here as well - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5043744.0
It can be a good idea to skip the ICO, but it all depends of the project. If the project is really good, it can have a totally different outcome and you might miss out on it when waiting for too long.
99  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why did you have faith in btc? on: November 06, 2018, 03:07:54 PM
I think of bitcoin as a long time investment and I think I'm not alone. The times for a quick buck are gone, or at least it is not that easy anymore.
