wow...HORRIBLE payout tonight

a good amount in unexchanged though at least

Same here  Cry

But tomorrow will be another day.

if there is no HW errors, disconnects...etc everyone should have 99+% efficiency after few hour (difficulty does NOT matter!)
more hash u have mean less time to balancing out luck/unluck at higher difficulty
but there is no way to be "unlucky" all the time and getting bad efficiency without any reason!

Work Unit = shares / minute @ difficulty 1 (diff1 = 2^16 at scrypt coins)
HRA = average hash rate (kHs)

efficiency = WU * 65536 / 60 / 1000 / HRA
(*100 to get res. as %)

after 1+ week mining i (stil) have more than 99% efficiency on all rig
1h ago restarted my solo card desktop PC = 110% efficiency atm.. and will go down to ~100%

Sorry but could you comment this definition of efficiency?
How could an efficiency be greater than 100% ? (Does your PSU give more watts to your rig than it takes from the wall  Huh)
If we forget the conversion factors you are more or less dividing your sharerate by your hashrate, so it's shares/hashs right?
Is it really a good indicator?

From https://www.litecoinpool.org/help :

Quote
How does share difficulty influence my earnings?
Short answer: it doesn't.
Long answer: a higher/lower share difficulty does not mean you will be earning more/less, because your expected earnings are independent of the share difficulty: they only depend on your hash rate and on the network difficulty. A higher share difficulty can only increase the variance, but not in a significant way.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 16, 2014, 03:36:44 PM
So is the consensus EU is the best server to mine on?

I am going by Shares/min on my CGwatcher and on my 1.6MH/s Rig it hovers around 2.4 - 3 per min.

You'll mine the same coins on Eu server.

To know if it's better for you try to ping and traceroute the 4 servers.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 16, 2014, 03:19:29 PM
Yes, EU down.

UP now.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 16, 2014, 02:57:52 PM
Sad to say but you are wrong. The hashrate displayed on the pool is calculated from the amount of shares accepted so if the pool shows a similar hashrate between two people, it means they have submitted about the same amount of shares. Hence, they are submitting shares at about the same rate.

What comes to the uber profitable coin it could certainly be true if we only looked at a very small time frame but we are infact comparing several days. There is no uber coin in existence that could create a 10-30% difference in 3 to 5 minutes, not even if there were several of these situations as Bob still has a higher overall hashrate.

Oh thanks for the clarification. Smiley

I have 2 rigs with  just  1 R9 280X GPU and both have the same settings and hashrate.

I'm usually on eu server and I switched 1 rig to uswest :

Before I switched, the 2 rigs were  almost synchronized  : diff changes occurred at the same time or with just 1s delay and rigs were apparently mining just the same coins at the same time with the same diffs.
After I switched things were almost the same : delays are around 1 s but sometimes it can be greater (exceptionnaly up to 60 s). That's generally uswest which is lagging more for me but not always.
Sometimes, as the diff changes don't appear at exactly the same time, the  diff for the coin is a bit higher for the rig mining on the lagging server.
I need to check the logs a bit closer but I saw that difference  twice in 1 hour. US west server got a higher diff once and eu server once.

That's really very small differences. I can't say it could produce large payouts differences.

Apparently, both pools mine the same coins, with most of the time, the same difficulty.

Hey all. I've been on this pool a long time, haven't compared numbers in quite a while.

However the recent "let's talk about payout" caught my interest, as people reporting .01/mh or even .015/mh are way outperforming me. Like, up to 2x, that is considerable and a little worrying. I'm averaging something like 0.0075/mh.

So I poked around a little.

Here's two different users, for example:

This guy, let's call him Bob, has a steady 19 mh/s or so, and has been around since Dec 16th-
http://www.middlecoin.com/reports/1ACruk5rrJmGTkP7UyyoqGDLNZTHzkqviY.html

And this dude, Let's call him Frank, has slightly less, maybe 18 average, and just started mining on the 7th-
http://www.middlecoin.com/reports/1FxziX77LiZLZxhdXMWREMQVMyjbDmCubw.html

So these are roughly comparable hashrates, with comparable reject ratios, but Frank (the newer, slower miner) is absolutely trouncing Bob on the payouts.

WTF is going on here?
(And yes, I know all the usual explanations, but I don't think any of them actually apply to this specific example)

If I'd have to guess, I'd say they are mining on different servers. Bob is probably mining on the uswest server and Frank on one of the beta servers. uswest being the biggest and having the most hashrate means it can't mine the smaller coins. The beta servers which are smaller, don't have this problem and can mine the smaller coins without problem.

This is just me guessing though that the servers work independently from each other and are basically their own pools.
Could be.

Bob has a lot more rejected shares

They have not so different rejected rates and looking closely to the graph I missed earlier I see more orange for Frank : so no it's not rejected shares
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 16, 2014, 03:08:33 AM

Did Bob and Franck confirm you they've always worked with the same hashrate, each hour, for all the reported days?
No interruption, no days with some miners on another pool, no maintenance, no windows updates taking hours, no sick GPUs ?

You may be right but just with the dates and payouts of previous days and the hashrate of last hour there's no evidence.

For the last ten days beta servers could also have played a role. Some users switched and other didn't.

Uhm, really? If you click those links you get hashrate graphs going back 7 days... not just payouts and last hour.

You're right, I just had a quick look at the payouts Embarrassed

In fact I noticed these payout differences between users with similar hashrate a few days ago.
Having decent payouts for my hashrate (0.0012-0.0015/Mh/s) I didn't investigate too much on that.

I dont think its a srypt asic

As I said before Why cant it be this -----

I have a feeling some guy has figured a way to create a pool which is sponging off middlecoins pool . A smartass person sponging off middlecoin who has Diverted all the hashing power from his users on his POOL that he has accumulated more users over time but all this port forwards to the middlecoin server.... Lets say 200 Users on this pool with 1000khs each, well there is your 2000mhs ? So basically everyone joins the NEW SPONGE pools server which directs back to middlecoin server and users everyones hashing power.  --200 x 1000Khs

Each day the payout get distributed to the 200 users.... according to their hashrate for the last good payout. For Example if they are all at 1000KH well then they all get 0.04 BTC which is not bad . But again I am going by good pay out day  Of 8  bTC

I think this kind of thing should be banned if proven. Making H20 do all the working while the other pool owner sponges on the profits and by passes the work of the exhcanges and trading to h20.

What u think??

TO H2o

You are now making more than enough money I think you should close the pool for new registrations only as its becoming worse for the rest of us but better for you. Is this what you want?
I think you forgot one zero there champ, it's 2000 x 1000KH/s. Wink
Going with your calculation, his current 800MH/s would equal to 800 persons and with 8BTC divided amongst them, they'd still only make 0.01BTC per person.

As middlecoin is an open pool (in the meaning that you don't need to register), there is no registration to close. Only thing I could think of which he could do is to not accept any new wallet addresses.

Remember H2O has recently set up 3 new servers (still in beta) : why would he limit the number of miners just a few days later before having really tested the new servers?
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 15, 2014, 01:27:07 AM
i'm getting like 15% rejects on the useast server. What's the most stable server? This thread moves so quick it's hard to keep up with.

anyone?

I was twice on useast today for approximately 2 hours (when eu was down).
I didn't have this high rate of rejects.

Check your client and your connection.

93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 14, 2014, 06:31:10 PM
I seem to be getting repeat disconnects for some reason.

cgminer keeps telling me "connection to pool 0 interrupted" and "lost [x amount] of shares due to stratum disconnect on pool 0"

Anybody else having this problem?

I have no problem at all with eu server.
My strategy is:
  • eu.middlecoin.com
  • middlecoin.com
Till there's an automatic switch on middlecoin to the nearest server, if you mine on eu server  you'd better put useast as you 1st backup pool before uswest ( middlecoin and uswest.middlecoi are the same server)

average ping for me  :

eu.middlecoin.com [54.194.173.83] 66 ms
useast.middlecoin.com [54.197.251.210] 129 ms
uswest.middlecoin.com [54.214.242.184]  220 ms
asia.middlecoin.com [54.254.224.191] 289 ms

My logs say miner switched to US East from around 01:00 to 03:30 UTC

Server looks OK now.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 14, 2014, 01:40:37 AM
eu server looks dead, all my miners switched to us east.

96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 13, 2014, 02:35:09 AM
Did middlecoin just switch to USDE (just launched) for a minute there? Would be weird, but saw it with a diff 0 coin active for a bit.
No, which server are you on?
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 13, 2014, 02:08:13 AM
I'm not complaining, merely trying to ascertain whether it not that 0.149 is a genuine figure that will be used for today's payout.

Well it could be but normally it won't be : my balance got +50% on last update  (even if my unexchanged ratio is still high)

Remember also that the stats have been flat for hours today and the numbers may be not yet totally accurate.

Of course 0.015/d would be quite bad for your hashrate...
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 13, 2014, 01:31:07 AM
When I was asking about today's payouts I didn't have unexchanged in mind too bad

Yesterday I had a payout of .05 with no dumps in unexchanged. This is bearable but subpar for 6.5mh/s

Now today I'm showing 0.0148? That sucks.

Maybe you could wait the next payout (or even the next 2 payouts) before complaining?

99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 11, 2014, 03:58:26 AM
Aww small loss on unexchanged. I (like everyone) was hoping for a little better, but when the red line goes up less than the blue goes down, we didn't do as well. This is normal of course, and I'm not complaining, but I find it all intriguing.

In my case it was roughly a loss of 50% as the unexchanged went from 0.17BTC to 0.05BTC while the exchanged went up by only about 0.06BTC. Disappointing conversion rate however still the eventual payment will be the highest in weeks.

no lost for me  when my  unexchanged dropped from 0.066 to 0.022 / I got a little more than 0.07 today - my second highest day in 2 weeks here.

My mean is 0.045/day with 4.4 MH/s  (with some maintenance on my rigs and connection issues I was probably, on average, more around 4 MH/s during these 2 weeks)
It's far better than what I earned mining litecoins only and much simpler than exchanging myself the coins mined on different pools.

Till the first day I'm happy to mine here.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 11, 2014, 02:14:11 AM
See people all come good in the end, unexchanged nearly all gone.

If we were sitting on Doge none of you are going to complain after its 50% price increase in the last 24 hours.
