81  Economy / Services / Re: WTB: Script to parse website and create a table & text formatted for forum on: July 06, 2011, 05:15:22 PM
Something like http://91.215.158.89/~twyxgiv/cablesaurus/cable.php?id=10 ? (change the id=10 to the id of something in your shop to confirm that it actually works)

Can change it to loop through all id's and parse it a little nicer (so it fits this forum better) and sell the script to you if this is what you're interested in.

edit:
Parsed it to make it possible to copypaste into forum without editing anything, example of id=10:
PCIe x1 -> x16 Adapter Extender Cable
$14.45 or B1.13

* Brand New
* x1 to x16 slot adapter
* Adapter is x1 socket modified to fit larger cards
* Great for intense gaming & Bitcoin mining
* Works for all PCIe bus versions
* 19cm maximum length extension for graphics cards & sound cards
* Ensure proper airflow in your system by creating more room in tight-fit cases

like this? (note: takes ~15-20s to load)

Meh? http://www.snipe.net/2009/03/quick-and-dirty-php-caching/
Not seeing why this would be necessary since the script would only be ran when he needs to update the thread (meaning he has changed description on an item, thus making the cache useless). The page is not supposed to be public for anyone to view, i just put it up as proof of work (and to see if this is what he wanted).

Or did i miss something?

The impressive fact isn't that it's 7 video cards, it's 13 gpu's.

It is still however extremely pricey, and is mostly a rippoff.
It's 6*GTX 295 (a GTX 295 hosts 2 GPU's) and 1*GTX 275(1 GPU)
6*2+1=13 GPU's
It's about the same as 6*5970(12gpu) + 1*5850(1gpu)=13gpu in ATI-world, which is about 4,5ghz, quite impressive but there are people on the forums with more ghz than that.
83  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fastra II - your crazy rigs mean nothing ;-) on: July 06, 2011, 01:30:48 PM
Six GTX 295, you might get 500mhash with that. In terms of bitcoin mining that computer isn't the least impressive, also there is quite a few computer farms for bitcoins that has much much more computational power than that one has, for much less than 6000 euro, what a rip off price.
84  Economy / Services / Re: Wanted: simple scalable version of poster made. Will pay 1BTC. on: July 05, 2011, 10:46:15 PM
It really isn't "possible" to make it an SVG due to complex graphics (van, phone, etc)

Converted the .pdf to a higher dpi png image (text should be much more clear, and perhaps the logos at the bottom, not sure): http://i.solidfiles.net/9127d.png
Tell me if it solved any of your problems.

edit: definitely made the logos at the bottom much more clear

86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Will Buy ALL Of Your BTC You Want To Sell Me For $50 USD/Coin Through PayPal!! on: July 04, 2011, 11:20:42 AM

Actually I think paypal would put a negative balance on your account and maybe even overdraw your bank.  I'm not sure but I think this is how they roll.  Yes stay away.

They do thus
Create a Free Online Bank Account (Ally is pretty easy)
Attach it to your Paypal
and Limit the Cash in it.

Also do not allow overdraft under any circumstances (you can call customer service for this)
What happens if you try to do the following thing:
1. Buy $x worth of bitcoins from yourself (your account -> your account)
2. Use free online bank account
3. Request a chargeback
(not saying anyone should do this, ever. Just interested in what would happen, theoretically)
Would you actually receive your money back, or would paypal just change their mind and tell you the seller "wins" and not give you anything because they don't want to pay out of their own pocket?

I'm guessing trying to do this is highly fraudelent and you might get f*cked over badly if paypal gets hold of your identity, don't try @ home.
But on the other hand what paypal is doing to bitcoin sellers providing proof of delivery is just... wow...
87  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Britcoin V2 Community Input on: July 03, 2011, 02:56:47 AM
IMO third option is the best one.

Right now it's hard to see at what rate you are selling the coins at, what you could do is that you use the same system as you do now, but add an "resulting in X BTC per GBP".

But really, it is much easier to just specify the rate you want to buy BTC or GBP at, if you want to find out how much BTC or GBP you get from the trade you can just whip out good ol calculator and do "X BTC(or GBP) * rate" which i think more people are used to than the current "X BTC(or GBP)/Y GPB(or BTC)" method.

Offering $1.5 per 10 packs as long as shipping stays reasonable (<$15-20), looking to buy about 50 packs. (EU/Sweden)
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you want to use btc for? on: July 02, 2011, 06:12:52 PM
Didn't know about the sport bettings site, but i would guess moar=better, unless no one uses it.

Using amazon is nice and all, was more thinking about a direct exchange. But looking at the second link i guess there actually is quite a lot of sellers.

I don't know if that's what this does but:
  or - http://dragons.tl
There was specifically a human-vs-human online card game, Yacht, but that operator is no longer offering it apparently:
minethings.com don't actually use btc in any way if i'm not misunderstood, played it a while yesterday but didn't see anything?
dragons.tl is more of what i was thinking but that's pretty much a fancy casino, no?
Not sure about bityacht, but it sounds just like what i was thinking about
I just found out about BIT-FU, that seems to be just the kind of thing i imagined.
Personally i would like to see more of these things, and not just double trouble sh!t everywhere.

Again, from Amazon?
There should be multiple options for this.  Strange this wasn't among the first offered.
There are probaly more ways than BTC Buy to buy software right now, some are selling on the forums etc. This is something i would personally like to see more of though.

ClearCoin will definitely be missed.  Perhaps one of the new ones?
More = better, again.

Most of the things i said was just kind of random stuff i could come up with though, personally most interested in competetive games where you play against someone else for the bitcoins, like bit-fu.

  * IDEA: Bitcoin-paying consignment store (I ship off a box of stuff, you sell it, send proceeds less your cut to me)
 * IDEA: A US Mail Forwarding, International Shipping service, simlar to MyUS.com
 - http://bitcoin.witcoin.com/p/269
Can't really say much about those 2 things, but something that comes close to having "someone else sell it" would probaly be bitcoinclassifieds

The witcoin post is just the kind of discussion i wanted here.
90  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ATI Radeon 5770 Single Slot/Update: ATI 5850 outside of the case on: July 02, 2011, 05:33:57 PM
I changed the title.
Because I´ll buy a ATI 5850 after holiday. I´ll install is, and take the mainboard out of the case.
The only creepy thing is the power consumption.
I don´t think, that a 305W power supply is enough for this card and an intel pentium 4
Can anyone please post any advices for the power of a new power supply?
Nils
Corsair cx 430w seems to be the best choice of good quality psu with a low pricetag, the 350w might be able to run it depending on the quality, but doubt it will.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin memory usage on: July 02, 2011, 05:28:59 PM
Guess it's not only me then.

What i noticed was that it is lower when you haven't downloaded the blockchain (it starts out at about 20-30mb i believe, rising with about 1-2mb/minute (was getting the blockchain at about 600kbps i believe).

After the blockchain is completely downloaded the memory usage doesn't rise very much, maybe a 2-5 mb/h, not really sure

Since i wrote my old post it's risen from 80 to 98mb though. (7 hours)
92  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ATI Radeon 5770 Single Slot on: July 02, 2011, 10:28:20 AM
I believe you can get around ~350-380 mhash at around 70c temperature on the card which isn't really much, i think alot of people go to 80-90c without problems (yet) with the mainboard outside the case (doesn't really help airflow much to now have it in the case).

I think you should go for a 5850 and not 5770 personally, what i have seen it's only around €40-50 more than 5770 and it delivers almost twice the speed, have better resale value if you'll ever think about selling it. Shoot me a PM if you're interested to buy in the future since i probaly won't get rid of the card for some time, not really in a hurry to sell it but if a good oppertunity shows up i'll probaly get rid of it since i won't be using 2 cards in the future anyway.

You can PM me if you're unable to get those speeds (even if you end up buying from store/someone else) and i'll happily help you if i still visit the forums by then.

~Daniel

93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin memory usage on: July 02, 2011, 10:06:27 AM
Win 7 64bit & fedora 12 32bit

Memory usage seems to have went down @Win7 machine now though (to 80mb, might be because of i newly booted?), only running bitcoind on fedora and it uses as much memory as bitcoin(with GUI) on Win7. Not really sure if this is a huge problem though, maybe some other people could check their current usage and uptime on the client?

Would be nice to see lower mem usage on bitcoind but i guess it shouldn't be that high priority anyway, 140mb isn't too much and there is probaly better things to use energy on fixing for now.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wall Street Journal Frontpage Ad - 5000 Bitcoins on: July 02, 2011, 02:27:07 AM
I think an advertisement in maybe a few smaller technology-related papers could be more effective, since "those kind of people" are usually more interested in exploring/trying out new stuff. Also there might be better things to spend money on than advertising right now, trying to make more ways that people can actually use the bitcoin for. Maybe ads in a business-related paper Grin?
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Huge Television Ad for Bitcoin on All the Major Networks on: July 02, 2011, 02:01:16 AM
Wasn't there some other thread about a television ad?

Anyway, more information would be nice and what donations actually can help out with would be nice.
If this has any connection with the other thread (that i think i have seen?) a link to that one in the original post might also be helpful.

[edit]
And also if there is any other way but donations to help the project.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you want to use btc for? on: July 02, 2011, 01:45:24 AM
We are working on a Bitcoin TV ad.....  to be broadcast on ALL the major television networks within the US.

If you're interested in helping out in any way on this project, please send me an email or call me.

Oh, and if you meant...  BUYING tv advertising for bitcoin...  Well, of course you already can.   You can buy advertising on any or all of the tv shows on OnlyOneTV.com using bitcoin.    Naturally...
I know, just used it as an example because i ran out of stuff to write, heh.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What would you want to use btc for? on: July 02, 2011, 01:38:05 AM
What would you want to spend your bitcoins on? What do you think could make btc a more used currency?

Post what you would think would be cool to see, maybe a btc sport betting site? Want to buy books for btc? Play competetive games against HUMANS (kinda like poker, but something else)? Buy software? Escrow services? A bitcoin TV ad?

Please share your ideas or maybe improve what someone else said, maybe one day someone will set up just the service you wish for. If it's a simple enough request i might even do it.

Shameless self advertising:
A way to automaticly convert usd to bitcoins based on current mtgox price at for example forum posts instead of adjusting price manually all the time - Think something like this could benefit the trade forum here alot actually, sad to see that no one actually uses it Sad.
If you don't like links, this is what it does: 57 usd at current mtgoxrate is bitcoins.
98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ATI Radeon 5770 Single Slot on: July 02, 2011, 01:13:27 AM
If you are looking to buy a 5850 i might be able to sell you one if you want (currently pulls in 333mhs at 830/300mhs clocks at AGGRESSION=9, temp at 60c) for about €130. Also have an unused 430w corsair psu that i could throw in for about €30, should be able to run your setup without problem (my 550w runs 2*5850, i3 processor and 2*1tb hdd's without problems, but i believe it's really at the limit and that i am lucky it actually runs it all). The card has been used for 3 weeks about 8-9hours each day, it's an Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 Extreme. Depending on where you live shipping might end up costing almost as much as it would cost to get everything in new condition though.

Anyways, what you should expect to get from this card:
with bad airflow in case, wanting to use the computer for other tasks such as watching videos and card at about 60c: 320-340mhs
with bad airflow in case, not wanting to do anything else with the computer and willing to go up to about 70-75c: 355-365mhs
with good airflow in case, wanting to use the computer for other tasks such as watching videos and card at about ~55c: 330-350mhs
with good airflow in case, not wanting to use the computer for other tasks such as watching videos and card at about 70-75c: 360-400mhs

The good airflow numbers are kind of speculation since i don't have good airflow in my case and can't tell for sure), looking at the mining hardware comparison chart on the wiki is also recommended, you'll be able to get about ~3-10% higher mining speeds due to improved miners + small tricks to speed up mhs though.
99  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I screwed up overclocking and i need help~!! on: July 01, 2011, 11:11:32 PM
Is it something else thats making the screen go to the lines??   its like a bunch of vertical likes sometimes then other times its just a solid grey or white screen.  is that the GPUs crashing?
I had that on my 5850's, you did something wrong when installing the drivers most likely (since the lines dissapeared for me after uninstalling drivers, might have been nvidia drivers fucking up, idk)

Anyways, how to most likely fix ur shit:
1. Download Driver Sweeper ( http://www.phyxion.net/item/driver-sweeper.html )
2. Boot into safe mode, run Driver sweeper. Proceed to remove all your graphic drivers.
3. Uninstall any overclocking tool that you have used.
4. Reboot into windows and install new drivers, i installed the previous version of drivers for my cards, but i don't really think it should matter.

Try to avoid the 400-600mhz mem clock if it causes problems for you (doesn't for me, but i'm never @ 500mhz for any longer than 20s with nothing running in the background), go from 700->300.
100  Economy / Goods / Re: Game For Sale - World of Goo - 0.5 BTC Buy Now! on: July 01, 2011, 04:46:02 PM
wasn't this one of the games you could get for a penny donation once?
Humble indie bundle #1, indeed. Best $10 spent on games so far.

Also the OP of this thread is probaly selling the same "key" over and over again since there is no limit on how many times it can be used.
