^ I'd forgotten about this self-imposed challenge  Grin

We know that he backtracked but I just want to remind everyone that even crypto personalities can't predict the market and they get it wrong most of the time. Do not fall for their "expert" opinions. Some of them are paid reviews/opinions anyway.

---------

If you're wondering what he did in the past, check this:

For those noobs who don't know who John McAfee is:

1. John McAfee is the person who promoted scam projects such as SimmitriToken and Zombie Coin
2. He charged ~20% of the total supply of the ICO, in exchange for the promotion
3. In other cases, he charged $105,000 for each tweet he made to promote the scam ICOs
4. He is suspected of involvement of the murder of Gregory Faull in Belize
5. McAfee fled to Guatemala, in order to avoid arrest by Belizean authorities

In this crypto ecosystem, a lot of people love to speculate whenever there is an increase in the market value of a particular crypto coin especially Bitcoin. It is never a good idea to usually base your investment plans on these speculations.  John McAfee in my personal opinion does not understand the Bitcoin market. An increase in the price of Bitcoin in a specific moment in time  does not really promise a potential spike in the market value of Bitcoin in some years to come.  The entire crypto market do not really follow a particular pattern as a lot assumes it does.

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree with the experts? on: August 01, 2020, 08:17:30 PM
corona has affected  the economics globally  but has also dampened the growth of crypto-currencies. Until the dreadful disease get wholly wiped off, it is not possible to see any improvement in the crypto market.

Various experts are constantly monitoring the market and saying this. I agree with them.

What do you think about this? Do you also monitor the market?

As the saying goes, people have their own personal opinion. You shouldn't always trust what the so called experts say about the crypto market or a particular crypto coin. Personally, I believe in my own analysis rather than what someone is saying.  Corona actually  did not really have an impact on the crypto market.  The crypto market has rather seen some level of growth considering the market since march till now.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Spend Bitcoin? on: August 01, 2020, 07:54:37 PM
I cannot find any real reason why you should spend your bitcoins in order to shop online.
In my opinion, Bitcoin has a bigger value than the one right now so it is not worthy spending them for shopping. It is better to keep them in your wallet and consider it as your investment. If you want to buy something online use a stablecoin...

Its quiet sad you see Bitcoin as investment rather than a digital currency for transaction of goods and services. Bitcoin was never meant to be an investment coin, but rather a digital currency like fiat currencies. But its quiet unfortunate that Bitcoin is seen as an investment entity rather than a digital currency.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Network fee is killing my small profit on: August 01, 2020, 07:31:54 PM
Transaction fees have always been the problem for small scale traders like us. Personally, I stopped due to this huge transaction fees. I realized that almost 50% of my profits were being used for transaction fees. The nature of transaction fees for smaller transactions is one disadvantage making it difficult for some people to adopt to crypto business transactions.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: August 01, 2020, 02:46:03 PM
Inter is the favorite UEFA Europa League. The main enemy will be Sevilla. Other teams lack experience or a good coach.Manchester United good team, but inexperienced coach.

Inter milan in recent games has not been all that good. They have conceded in almost in all the games after the restart of football. With this nature, when they meet a team with good attackers, they might be likely to be eliminated from the competition. The Europa league is very open for any good team to win it.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: August 01, 2020, 02:36:43 PM

And the nearest event is between inter milan vs getafe on 5 August, the odds for inter to win the game at home are @1.9xx now , pretty nice price over there.
What makes that odds quite high for inter hmm?
Are they having bad records playing against Spanish Teams? I'm not sure.

The odds are usually calculated based on the number of times both teams have played each other. That includes, who has won or lost more. Also, the current playing conditions of both teams in the respective leagues or other matches.  But its not gonna be an easy game for inter milan considering how they have been playing in recent games.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FA Cup and EFL Cup Prediction Thread on: August 01, 2020, 02:19:15 PM
The FA Cup final between Arsenal and Chelsea will hodl on Saturday, 1st of August, 2020.
It is a match that gives lampard a shot at glory, and an opportunity to win the facup as a player and a coach, especially in His first year at Chelsea, while Arteta will be counting on the gunners to win the title and send them straight to the europa league, first chance at silverware for both managers, its gonna be one match to look out for.

Exactly, today is the day both managers prove how good they are as a manager.  Both teams have equal chances of winning the trophy today. Arsenal and Chelsea have a long history regarding FA cup finals, and considering the facts, Arsenal seems to have a good advantage of winning today.  The match  might  produce about 3+ goals.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Think before joining any campaign on: August 01, 2020, 04:19:49 AM
without detailed research on any project, it can certainly affect the participants of the hadia campaign itself, much time is wasted, work done by the participants is not valued at all. therefore for now it is better to choose to join a platform that is already listed on the exchange because it is more certain if the token already has a trading volume in it

Sometimes I don't blame Bounty hunters for joining some kinda projects. Most of these kinda  projects have good  ideas in solving a particular gap seen in the world. But some of these project managers are just concern about the money they will generate and forget the idea of the project. I just think the moderators on this forum develop something that will help control the number of projects advertised here in terms of making a fool out of bounty hunters. If bounty projects are made to pay a specific range of money  for the services provided by bounty hunters, this will limit the kinda projects launched here.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BOUNTY PAYMENT MATTERS on: August 01, 2020, 02:26:45 AM

I understand your ramblings, but if you look at bounties, the project doesn't have the funds initially, most of the time the project started from scratch when they announced it. So what are they going to escrows or where do the money should come when in the first place they don't have any.

I understand our suggestions, but I don't think it will be effective for the 99% of the projects that we have right now.

Exactly, but projects managers need to understand that they need to have some capital to start a project. If they don't have enough funds to start a project, they shouldn't start or organize bounty campaigns. People can't waste their time promoting projects and do not get paid for their effort. Personally, I think moderators on this forum can  put something in place to avoid project managers from making a fool out of Bounty hunters.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: July 31, 2020, 11:56:18 PM

Barcelona will qualify for the 1/4 finals, it’s what they do. Napoli are a good defensive team but I don’t think they’ll be able to stop Barca scoring a couple of goals.

most likely Barcelona will be the favorite in this challenge, but Napoli will not be intimidated, to remember that both teams will play away and will no longer be at Camp Nou

Well for me, I see Napoli beating Barcelona. The reason is that, Barcelona has not been in good shape in terms of performance since the restart of soccer. Napoli on the other hand has been in an  okay performance shape. If Barcelona is gonna play like what they have being doing since the restart, then Napoli might score them a lot of goals.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the chances of bitcoin taking another dive? on: July 31, 2020, 11:45:35 PM
Considering the nature of the Bitcoin market, there are possibilities that Bitcoin might drop but the question is that, will it drop to $5.9k ? Looking at how 2020 has been so far, I don't see bitcoin dropping to $5.9k. It is very possible that the market value of Bitcoin might drop in the range between $9k and $10k through the 2020.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin replace Gold someday? on: July 31, 2020, 11:30:54 PM

Do you think that Bitcoin will be able to replace Gold someday? As we shift into the "intangible" world, people will "ditch" physical stuff in exchange for digital items. Bitcoin can become the new digital Gold which serves as a safe-haven asset (store of value) in times of need. COVID-19 will greatly encourage people to adopt Bitcoin over Gold as their next store of value of choice. Thoughts? Huh

First and foremost, why will people still be having this argument regarding Bitcoin and Gold?  Gold has been existence for thousand's of years now and its one natural resources which will always retain its value. Even if Bitcoin becomes massively adopted into the financial ecosystem, Gold will still have its value in the market. This is due to the fact that Gold is tangible and its being a natural mineral resource. People should stop wasting their energy thinking Bitcoin is gonna replace Gold in some years to come. Bitcoin do not have the chance to replace Gold.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency fraud and scams on: July 31, 2020, 02:58:40 PM
In this present world today the rate of scammers has increased so high, and each day there come up with a new method in which there could  use to scam people, so to avoid being scam we have to be wise and cautious, we need to know that nothing good comes easily, and anything which is too good to be real is scam, let's all try to always get updated because scammers always try any method there could come in contact with.

Scams and frauds will always exist in this world we find ourselves.  Its very sad that people just invest into projects or ICO without analyzing or getting an opinion from another person before putting their money into projects. If you are a careless person in this crypto space, you are more vulnerable of getting scammed.  Also, if you are a greedy person, you will definitely gonna get scammed.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Late Show with Stephen Colbert calls bitcoin a scam on: July 31, 2020, 03:39:24 AM
Well, you should understand that we live in a world where people are entitled to their personal opinions. Whether Bitcoin is a scam or not, the entire Bitcoin and cryptocurrency ecosystem do not care what Stephen  Colbert thinks about Bitcoin.  Bitcoin has been around a decade now, and he is now seeing that Bitcoin is a scam? Why do people give a F**k what Stephen Colbert thinks about Bitcoin ? Bitcoin is beyond this scam issues.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why People Call Bitcoin Blockchain? on: July 31, 2020, 03:30:07 AM

What I want the forum to discuss is this:
I believe that the application of Blockchain cut across many industries such as healthcare, logistics, insurance, governement, education and so and so forth.
Why is the application of Blockchain to finance has this popularity than application of Blockchain to other sectors?
What do you think?

First and foremost, what you need to understand is that Satoshi's inspiration was to develop a system or technology that will solve the gap in the financial ecosystem concerning how transactions are made. And since blockchain technology was introduced in the financial aspect, its very obvious that aspect will e its prime focus and popularity. This popularity is mainly because blockchain was introduced to be a financial thing.

Quote
Do we (the world) need bitcoin?

Bitcoin is not really a necessity like the basic needs but it is a social need that address a particular problem in the world. The world needs Bitcoin to address a specific problem or gap in the financial ecosystem.  The financial ecosystem is really tired with the centralized system. People needs the financial freedom to make transactions without difficulties, and bitcoin and cryptocurrency brings that financial freedom.
98  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Bitcoin Bull Run Will Be ‘Dramatically Different’ on: July 30, 2020, 10:43:18 PM
Considering how the crypto market is growing, the bull run of Bitcoin will not be as the same as 2017. Personally, I don't really see a bull run of Bitcoin like 2017. Looking at the Bitcoin market from 2018 to now, the bull run will be like a 10% increase in the previous market value of Bitcoin and the market might drop in few days after the rise.  I don't think there will be any dramatic different as stated by Winklevoss Twin in as much that there are more capital, infrastructure and better projects.  People have learnt to understand the bitcoin market. Due to that, the next bull run of  Bitcoin will not be significantly huge as before.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What bitcoin adoption really is. on: July 30, 2020, 12:36:41 PM
Bitcoin has unique properties that no other asset has, I believe that these properties are the real value of bitcoin. Bitcoin does not need to be backed by anything except its properties. I believe that the main bitcoin purpose is a store of value. Many people say that bitcoin is not used as a medium of exchange and that's true, it's not convenient to use it because transactions are slow and fees are high for small purchases. People don't use bitcoin to buy stuff, people use fiat because it's more convenient, right? We have so many really good mediums of exchange, does bitcoin need to be one of them and compete with them? Hell no.

Let's look at bitcoin from a store of value perspective. How would a new store of value adoption look like? What is the measure of it?
Just two things:
1. Accessibility, convenience of buying and selling bitcoin.
2. Level of people's trust (most important)

More people believe that bitcoin has value, more valuable it becomes; that's a simple rule of a store of value. So, bitcoin adoption is in level of people's trust. The higher level of trust bitcoin has, more adopted it is. I think while bitcoin keeps its properties, it will earn people's trust and become more and more valuable. In 20 years, no one will ever doubt that it has value and the exchange rate will reflect it.

I don't really think the adoption of Bitcoin is based on the level of trust people have for Bitcoin. Adoption will come when people understand and know the true nature of Bitcoin. Trust comes into place when people have sufficient knowledge about Bitcoin. Without knowledge, people can not trust the outcome of something. What is actually delaying the adoption of Bitcoin is based on the fact that majority of the people living in this  world do not really know what Bitcoin is and come to think of understanding its decentralized  nature.  Knowledge and understanding is the only way to get people to adopt Bitcoin.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are back with another trick. Be alert!!! on: July 30, 2020, 12:19:22 PM
Even an expert in crypto could still fall for such scamming tricks especially if they go as far as mimicking reputable company and streaming videos.

Only greedy expert will actually fall for this. First and foremost, you need to know and understand that whenever a company or project is going  giveaways, they will never ask people to send them any amount of crypto coin to be double or triple for them.  Its either you retweet or repost their post. Some will just ask people to just fill out a form with their details and a particular crypto address to receive the giveaway.
Come to think of it, no expert in the crypto space will fall for this. i don't think so..
