By the way, we plan to clean reset the Darkcoin blockchain without instamine. Genesis launch is Jan/18/2015 ;-)
... no instamine, promised!!!!1 :-D
Please don't waste your time. Instead, put your focus on stabilize current features and innovates. Jokes are similar to Schrödinger's cat: when you explain them you destroy them. It's all Heisenberg's fault. (yes, vertoe's joke was a REALLY good one. Kudos to her...)

Is it as simple as that?
No, I think it's more difficult.

Donate > 65 drk --> über fantastic excellent I Darkcoin therefore I am. I painted my house in Darkcoin colours. My boys are named Evan...

"not capable masternode: Could not connect to <ipaddyofmvps>"
Verify that: a) port 9999 is open for incoming and outgoing connections on the server where your hot Masternode is running. b) port 9999 is not blocked by a local/desktop firewall on your (cold) wallet computer. If in doubt completely disable firewalls for testing.

BE PREPARED FOR EXPLOSION. DRK WILL ... RISE 100 TIMES UP.
I'm sorry to inform you that your caps-lock key is stuck.

He got roughly one payment every 4 days....like everyone else. , i did notice that now my MN country says Germany, i could swear it was USA last time i looked! (on vultr i did start server on germany but later i saw it was USA)
Don't trust GEO-locations...sometimes they are good, sometimes completely off. That's most probably 2 Masternodes. If you fund several Masternodes with one single transaction (via "Add Recipient") this address gets the payments for ALL nodes.

swapon -s Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/null partition 1048576 0 -1
So swap is there but does not seem to be active. I'm a bit lost here, any takers? You've created a swapfile on /dev/null ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2F178.254.18.153%2F%7Epub%2Ficons%2Fheadpalm.gif&t=664&c=54sWEAzp0StskA) Most probably you accidentally swapped the "if" and "of" part of dd. BTW, some VPS providers FORBIT swap (to sell higher priced packages) and when you try it weird things happen.

For the project to become really robust and shock-proof this aspect of it needs to mature, which I believe it will, but more discussion on these psychological phenomena is required.
For sure it would be an interesting discussion, but one without any results. BTW, what happened to Bitcoin when Satoshi left? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Evan is absolutely, 100% a single point of failure. While devs like Vertoe are amazing and worth their weight in gold, I do not believe (but would love to be wrong) that they can step into Evans shoes and get Darkcoin's core code to the point it needs to be. There will come a point where Evan is no longer a single point of failure, but at this point, if Evan got hit by a bus or pulled a Mr. Spread, the value of Darkcoin would tank. I suspect that won't be the case a year from now.
As someone who had a closer look or three into the Darkcoin-coding let me slightly disagree with you. I am 100% positive that flare, vertoe and UdjinM6, supported by "my first language is blockchain!"-Aswan, "I integrate KeePass in one weekend"-freynder and Patrick "Netfilter" McHardy can do this. Will it be easy? Certainly not. Will they need a helping and or two? You bet! But Darkcoin will survive!

Except, it should be noted that the "0.23 DRK/day" number in drk.mn is incorrect. 2112 masternodes = 1 payment every 2112/576 = 3.666666~ So you'll have 1.75 Drk / 3.666666 = 0.48 Drk / day.
elbereth is a bit busy at the moment...until this is fixed you can always look here: http://178.254.18.153/~pub/Darkcoin/masternode_payments_stats.html

The good thing is, vertoe is already waiting for this release for a while now to incoorporate the improved codebase into Darkcoin :-)

Thats a nice looking Masternode in Cape Town, wonder who they are. only 2 in all of Africa, its a tad sparse, although New Zealand has none which is surprising, what about Kim DotCom http://www.darkcoin.cm/index/masternodes_map/I would take that map with a grain of salt (i.e. don't trust it). My MN is running on a Sydney, Australia based Vultr VPS instance yet the Ninja MN monitoring page has described it as being in the US since I established it and I don't why that is. There are other Darkcoiners down here with MNs having the same issue. I would expect there are MNs in New Zealand too, however this mapping tool isn't working properly and I doubt it's at all accurate. The maps are just as accurate as the data from the IP-geo-location providers used is...and those are _really_ lacking. But at least they can give you an idea about distribution. On my own map about 80% are correct, though.

i was debating a ltc holder who said something about drk checkpointing. anybody know what he is talking about or is he misinformed? i remember peercoin had to do something like that.
"Chekpointing, do you still use that to "secure" the network ? Cause if yes, there's no decentralisation, someone have the keys, the network rely on one man... ouch. But I guess you have to, to avoid 51%."
Litecoin use checkpoints as well...there's nothing wrong with that, it's just an additional securing mechanism. The network does not break with or without them.

If the main issue is the missing RPC (I guess so, you're running a pool ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ) you can add "disablesafemode=1" to your darkcoin.conf. It doesn't change the fact that your daemon sees some issues in the blockchain, but at least it answers to RPC calls again. Edit: seems drk.mn is stuck, current block is 220342 Actually I added and removed that option at last fork error. I added that option again and it seems ok temporarily. Found block at 220350 according to http://explorer.darkcoin.ioIs it just normal fork and merging process currently? This is something I can't answer, I did not had time yet to look into the coding of this new feature. Sorry...

Hmmm, just pulled all my masternodes and they are on 220352. Must be just the explorers stalling out but they shouldn't be getting stuck.
Abe (which is used for most blockchain-explorer-sites) normally queries darkcoind via RPC. In "safe" mode, which is switched on when the daemon sees problems, those RPC-calls are switched off -> no answer to Abe -> no update for blockchain-explorer.

rpc error with daemon instance 0 when submitting block with submitblock {"code":-2,"message":"Safe mode: Warning: The network does not appear to fully agree! Some miners appear to be experiencing issues."}
Evan, please turn off enforcement.
No blocks found for 41 minutes in whole darkcoin network. MiningPoolHub is also suffering submitting new block.

here are some of my own thoughts on future wallet improvements :
- would like an option to create certain blockchain points, lets call them reindex restore points (like how windows use restore points). you can then select to restore the blockchain through re-index to a state for example of a week ago and dont need to have the whole blockchain re-indexed
I'll do backups of the blockchain for this. Integrating this into the wallet would be more convenient, though. - would like to see important commandline options integrated in the GUI wallet (zapwallettxes, reindex, rescan) so you can activate them on next restart through the click of a button.
http://jira.darkcoin.qa/browse/DRK-139 ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) - would like some info about possible new updates available in the GUI wallet so users will know its time to update
The original Bitcoin/Litecoin reference implementation had this, so I guess (but don't know) that it's also available in Darkcoin, but is just not used. - would like to see the windows wallets sync and download as fast and as problemless as on Linux (which is impressively fast).
I'm not sure if this is a Darkcoin problem...ALL my wallets sync way faster on Linux.
