What news? Nothing happens the on 25th other than an announcement and a listing of new websites/service names, etc.  I understand the buy the rumor, sell the news hype cycle with respect to new tech releases, but I don't think it quite fits the current rebranding situation.

I think all the buying is either 1) people who sold thinking the name change was going to sink us now desperately getting back in before their losses really balloon OR 2) people that liked the tech but stayed away due to the shady name now finally buying in.

Personally, I think the A looks fine.  I didn't see a R until people started commenting about it.  I say leave it or maybe move the dash in the A to the left side rather than the right as that would eliminate any resemblance to an R.

Not sure why you where trying to reason with him anyway. He keeps calling this coin a scam yet I still can't figure out who has been scammed. Where are the undelivered upon promises, the tech that doesn't work like it should, the promised returns that never pan out... I see none of that here. Oh, right... in the future the dev team is supposed to dump on our heads when they held all the way up to $15 and continued development as we fell back down to $1.

And for DRK/DASH supposedly having crap anonymity nobody has traced a transaction even though any big Monero investor has an obvious motive to break our system.

Give me the dev team that continues to push out new tech over the one that stoops to the level of crapping in other coins threads.

It is only 10 DASH to join the foundation to be able to vote.  Any long term fan of the coin should be able to spare that and the money will go towards continuing work by the dev team.  I would say it is small price to pay if you care about the logo selection. 

Why are we back to fighting with obvious trolls? There was even that good post a few pages back saying how newbies are not necessarily effected by the inane instamine FUD. The price is rising.  Just sit back and enjoy the ride.  

The price started to move with the release of the LTB episode a few days ago.  I think it is safe to say that more bitcoiners listen to that show than spend time mulling around in the altcoin section.  Furthermore, there have been continual reports since Darkcoin started last year of people who would buy in if the name wasn't so shady.  And well... the official rebranding date is March 25th.

I get the Monero guys.  They are desperately trying to protect their investment and haven't yet figured out that promoting their own coin would go a lot further towards their success compared to slandering us.  You would think they would take a clue from the current marketcap of both coins as well as DRK/DASH gains since their trolling started, but well... *sigh*

However, I completely don’t these dashcoin zombies.  Their coin was left for dead by their developer and despite that they are trying to troll over the name "dashcoin".  Newsflash!! We are rebranding to DASH not dashcoin.  They are NOT the same name and anybody who gets confused over that point is an idiot and their opinion should be discounted.  Not every cryptocurrency has "coin" as part of their name.

Well "some" would quite a small number. I thought like 70,000 BTC where stolen and DRK/DASH volume in the last week is a couple thousand BTC(on Cryptsy). Maybe the total volume is 3x or so (6000-7000 BTC).  So I don't think the coins are going through DRK/DASH.

Plus, looking at BTC's sudden drop I would say that most of the evo coins have been dumped.

I've noticed that alot of the buying has been going on during the afternoon/evening in Asia... benefit of no longer being known as "devilcoin". 

Executive desisions in general should NOT be democratic as nothing would ever get done. Opinions and assholes...you know the phrase. Coding decisions should be democratic as they are in Bitcoin(i.e. you can decide not to run code that is doing something you don't like). These are two different types of decisions and should be handled differently. Stop conflating the two.

Your recourse if you don't agree with an executive decision is to sell your coins. Evan is the dev but he is also an investor, as such, if enough people sell he will feel the effect. THAT is how the community gets Evan's executive decisions to align with their preferences. In this case, the markets are showing that people on a whole are NOT upset with Evan's decision. In other words, this decision was made with the backing of the majority of the community regardless of whether or not there was a poll or whatever else.

As for Anon... I agree wih Oblox. Either sell your coins to voice your displeasure over the "dictator's" decision or hold your coins to support. Holding, but going out of your way to make a bolded post complaining about stuff just seems petty.

Well first I would listen to the podcast as it is explained pretty well. I would suggest listening to the whole thing, but if you must skip then go to the last 15 minutes as that is where it is mentioned.  

In brief it works like this:
The same input is sent from A →B →C →D in four transactions. Currently that entire history is dragged around in the blockchain but really the only thing that matters is A →D. Thus the history can be pruned using a combination of masternodes and miners. Take a listen for more explanation.
