81  Economy / Marketplace / MT.gox failure !!!!**or not lol** on: August 07, 2011, 09:03:43 AM
I just used Mt.gox for the first time and i see a massive failure in its operation. i place my order before i'd transferred my money
into my account. the price of the coins tanked nearly $2 since i ordered... so i went back and cancelled my order and reordered
at the new lower price ?!?!? surely this is wrong ? why arent you "locked" into a sale at the price you agree to at the time ?
seems mad to me lol
82  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When will miners stop mining with the price keep dropping? on: August 03, 2011, 05:48:29 PM
why is the price tanking ?!?! ...is it because all the early adopters have now made their money and
pulled out, leaving the rest of us with an essentially worthless, useless idea for a currency ?! lol

shoot right up with the Mh/s count when you start it, then drop back down ?!?
always catches me out, i boot up and im like wow ! then it goes to its regular value lol  Huh

haha this cracked me up ! he listed off all his spec and them gets hit with............ 800mhash/s !!!!! BAM LOL
dont get me wrong i'd love this rig for network rendering in 3ds max ....but for mining my 2 hd6950 nearly
pull as much weight  Shocked

2x HD6950 760 Mhash/s...

nice cooler! how well does it work?

very well ! i7 @ 3.8ghz 100% cpu= about 70c  Cool
88  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Where would you stick your 800 Mhas/s ....? on: July 18, 2011, 06:32:33 PM
I have started at bit minter ! the mining software he provides looks great but it crashes my pc !
so im just using guiminer and its going well  Cool

i did this mod a few weeks ago on my 2gb Sapphire hd6950... it allowed me to flash with a modded bios
from my original bios (modded with rbe) but after a reboot the card still had only stock shaders Shocked(

most rubbish..... when people say they are "laser cut" are they referring to the gpu die its self ?!

94  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Optimizing ATI performance, 6950 in particular on: July 12, 2011, 06:26:27 PM
right i have 2* sapphire hd6950's

both overclocked
as follows

GPU01: 930 CORE
            430 MEM
FLAGS: -v -w64 -f60
RATE  : 362MH/S

GPU02: 940 CORE
            430 MEM
FLAGS: -v -w64 -f2
RATE  : 384MH/S

Using guiminer and open cl 2.1 and catalyst 11.5 in windows for a total of 746Mhash/s ...
not to bad seeing as i cannot unlock the shaders !  Cry
95  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Where would you stick your 800 Mhas/s ....? on: July 10, 2011, 09:16:12 PM
just as i suspected really !

my stale at BTCmine is only 0.3% at the mo ! and it costs me nothing to mine with them....i see no reason to change, thanks for
confirming my suspicions  Cool
96  Bitcoin / Mining / Where would you stick your 800 Mhas/s ....? on: July 10, 2011, 04:52:39 PM
Ive got two HD6950's churning away, currently mining for BTCmine ........ is this the best place i could be
doing my hashing ?! because ive only got 800 Mhash/s just wanted to check that its not better off anywhere
else ?!?

cheers onis

98  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: memory clock of 6990 won't go below 780mhz control using msi afterburnet?? on: July 06, 2011, 05:23:44 PM
exit from after burner

navigate to the MSI afterburner install folder and open the MSIAfterburner.CFG file in note pad

find the line at the bottom delete it and then paste in

[ATIADLHAL]
UnofficialOverclockingEULA   = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode   = 2

close and save

open up afterburner and it should be good to go !

if this works feel free to donate  Cool
99  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 6950: Under-rated? on: July 06, 2011, 05:16:12 PM
too right they are under rated ! im getting about 400 mh/s each out of my two ! well good !
my 600 watt ocz power supply cut out when i added the second card, so i bought another 850watt one and all
is good  Cool
100  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Nice drop in temps ! on: July 05, 2011, 07:52:22 PM
No, but the lower the core temp the better, the GPU will later longer as a result.
my fan is set to auto and is at 46% ...i cannot even hear it ! i'd much rather that
than the cards blazing out at 80% !!!!!!

I don't think you read mastergamer's post.
The voltage regulators are cooled with the air stream the fans take in. The slower you run the fan the hotter they get.

If you are overclocking a card, your VRM is overheating in an exponential scale the more voltage you add.

A graphics card will probably never die in normal use from a toast GPU just as a CPU chip wont.
It might weaken from overclocking due to electromigration but it will never die.

It's the capacitors, VRM, chokes and other components that are the most likely to break.

please note that the card is factory modded to have a heat sink on the vrm's !!!!!! the fan speed is the same as before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the air flow is no more or less, the cards have two 120mm fans directly able them too, the only thing that has changed is the gpu temperature !

geeeeeeeeeeeeez you guys ....
