Random thoughts................
Personally I like to see POS / POW mix
Android staking wallet good
Can I refer you to Vanillacoin - some good code there and android wallet is a full staking wallet
CPU only POW is good with some kind of flexible algo definition (if that's possible) so algo mix can be changed and new algo's added without hard fork
I refer you to my previous document re decentralised POW
A fundamental change from other currencies is needed - don't just do a clone and adapt it, take the best of the rest and build a coin with your own features. It's obvious now that clones of bitcoin may not be the best approach - there's too many of them.
ICO - I will reserve judgement - there is merit in crowdfunding for marketing, developement etc. and could be good for initial distribution. The risks are creation of an initial elite core of users that put others off - especially if POS only.

Due to my current condition, I cannot work on the currency project anymore, my works are in the auxillary repository which has the promised features. The community can take over this coin and will. So I wish best of luck and long live Fantom
Thanks for the update, your hard work and your honesty At some point the community will need access to the the resources of this coin - twitter account and the auxillary repository you mention etc. Are you happy to hand over resources to those willing to take over the coin and continue your hard work?

Most important now is to discus about coin purpose and some cool features implemented in wallet, rather than algo and name.
Maybe radio ina wallet so we can listen our favorite music stations :-P
Coin with radio in wallet already exist. We need something much, much better... We thinking about making decentralized altcoin exchange implemented in wallet... and new coin will be base currency, along with Bitcoin, Litecoin and other big altcoins. I was thinking a little about the tendency for coins to move to centralisation and wrote this document https://mega.nz/#!kBoHmBhZ!BN5BEqFnAu7SZDGWGKsvqNUmS7sKR9WADmbS8RoemH4
Just thought it might interest you

Be on the lookout for a burn coin with a newbie dev.
If he walked away from this, he will surely walk away from his next one.
I have pm'd the dev If needed I'm sure between us we can take over this coin?
|
|
|
At least, Im trying to do something for this coin. What you can do? And now, I get message from dev... I AM SERIOUS NOWHe answer on my question why he is inactive. As you see, he log today on forum. Printscreen from my PM: If dev can't work on coin any more - he / she should hand over control to community.

Hi! I have 2 Win cpu mining questions.
1 - I can mine only with an i7 cpu. The core 2 duo or celeron G1820 doesn't work and crashes both miners(32 or 64 bit). It looks like crashing while submitting solution... Any hints?
2 - I cannot set a mining proxy due to the miner built-in address. Is there any way to bypass the miner built-in host address?
I am looking into this too - will let you all know - I hate being ripped off by pools All you need to do is solo mine through the wallet and you'll hit the same, if not more, blocks than with a pool. It's the same probability except when you solomine, you don't have your pool taking a fee and your hash isn't pinched off the top. Plus, solomining makes for a healthier network. Solo is the way to go. This is how I mine too. If you have multiple computers and don't want to deal with separate wallets then just use the same wallet.dat on all your PCs. Looked at the miner / pool setup for last 24 hours 1. No source code for the miner - not good so I ran from VPS so as not to risk my machines 2. Got much less pool mining than solo mining - not good 3. Noticed periods where I wasn't being credited with coins even though I was mining and submitting valid shares - very bad Back to solo mining for me - I recommend you steer clear of the pool until the source code is released at the very least.

Spun up an azure ubuntu server - again 16 cores etc. and getting 8khs

Has someone got a GPU miner already?
One miner on coinspool running at 10x the hash of everyone else with quite a few invalid shares
Either they are running multiple cpu miners (160 cores equivalent by my estimate) or they have created a gpu miner and are not sharing
Just asking as that one address has quite a large % of the network hash
Probably running virtual machines on Microsoft Azure using the CPU miner... Yep, that would explain it - more worried about the amount of hash in single hand Panic over maybe Just spun up an azure machine with 16 cores, 128GB ram and I am getting 5.6khs - so 75khs say around 10 top level azure servers !!! - wow !!

Linux daemon wallet now up and running fine in a clean build Ubuntu test server Mining is now working from the Linux "fantomd" wallet I could do a block explorer but I see you already have one (even though it needs a tweak or two) Now experimenting to see if I can create a mining pool then again you would need a miner for that so maybe not yet Dev - you have plenty of suggestions for your next steps. You should also include a website in the list of things to do that gives basic coin info, wallet download etc. You also need twitter, IRC or other social media locations Good luck Looking forward to exchange listing once you get your changes / extra resources sorted

Aren't all coins basically copies of bitcoin with algo change and a wallet make over - ha !!! even litecoin etc. I considered darksilk but 1) not released 2) scrypt algo.... no good for cpu miners That being said darksilk could have a lot going for it if you have a decent cpu only algo, no premine and actually release - I would mine it

Still trying to install it on Linux.
I get this error during the last command "make"
In file included from src/core.h:9:0, from src/main.h:9, from src/kernel.h:7, from src/txdb-leveldb.cpp:18: src/uint256.h:15:19: fatal error: gmpxx.h: No such file or directory #include <gmpxx.h> compilation terminated. make: *** [build/txdb-leveldb.o] Error 1
Can anyone help me with it?
I had the same issue, it seems the dev has not adjusted the makefile yet to discourage pool creation etc. To quote from PM - "Please use the Qt, to make pooling difficult (and possibly impossible) I never modded the makefiles...."

Ok let's mine this coin !!! hee hee hash away !!!!
|
|
|
No pools he said. No standalone miner. This coin is supposed to be completely decentralized when it comes to mining. I've hit two blocks on a 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo in about 12 hours of mining, so just be patient.
That's why I like the idea of this coin - hopefully mining will remain fully decentralized (no pools etc.) and mine only through wallet / cpu forever

|
|
ok - who killed it !!!
It's alive !!!!
|
|
|
ok, all synchronised
How do I mine?
From wallet?
type in console setgenerate true -1 thought so - cheers
