82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox announce finding of 200,000 lost BTC! on: March 20, 2014, 08:15:26 PM
It's just a poor attempt to instill confidence, in what I'm not sure.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better, Dogecoin or Litecoin? on: March 20, 2014, 02:26:23 PM
Dogecoin have something that touch hearts ^^ ..
You can lought from Doge meme but this is marketing hit...
Soon with 5% inflation and BIG market it can be easier to use hold Doge than LTC...
Even tha stupid inflation of BTC and DOge will matter in future but you wont see that today when Doge have HIGH inflation.
Process will take year or two to establish price lvls.
I respect LTC but only for Doge ASICs are win high ash power with low cost that is something that Doge needed...
LTC with so high inflation when wil hit top profit of scypt coins will go down like other script coins.
High diff and roi of ASICs will couse headake LTC miners too soon like it is with BTC miners...
In logn run LOW new points of dystrybution of LTC few datacenters like with BTC with centralize minig in same time
Doge will have 95% coins mined out and that 5% year is in real tip to maintenance network...
That makes Doge ASICs proof it was mined without ASICs mostly...
We will see diffrenece when doge will hit lat halfing ^^ and year later.

Wow. Many Words, Such Run On ..

88  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Easy way to cool Antminer S1 on: March 18, 2014, 08:00:10 PM
I put a cougar fan on to push and reversed the stock fan to pull. Temps stayed about the same and the noise increased. I think adding a second fan to these is a waste of time and money.

i did the same with about the same results. I used a spare Noctua fan i had around.

91  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BIOSTAR Ready to Launch Motherboards with Built-in ASICS – Great for Bitcoins on: March 18, 2014, 07:21:13 PM
It's not exactly a motherboard either, is it?   Roll Eyes  I'm guessing it another board of Avalon2 chips?

Crap article.

Looks like it. Here is some more info

BTC-24GH is not a motherboard but rather a daughterboard designed to operate as a slave from a more traditional PC motherboard. A 20-pin ATX power connector and four-pin 12V connector provide the board with its power, and a pass-through connector allows a low-power central motherboard - or additional BTC-24GH boards, up to a maximum of 50 per host system - to be powered from a shared PSU. A USB connector provides communications with the host motherboard.

95  Economy / Economics / Re: Canada DOJ looking to regulate Bitcoin mining as gambling on: March 13, 2014, 01:46:33 PM
I think what probably happened is that somebody in the DOJ didn't understand what mining was and asked somebody to explain it, and the person explaining happened to choose the analogy that mining is a lottery to produce a valid hash, and the rate at which you hash corresponds to the number of lottery tickets.

Allow some offhand conversation like that to filter through various echo chambers and telephone-games, and suddenly a conversation like that turns into equating mining with gambling, when there isn't necessarily anything real to go on.

That's seriously troubling no?
96  Economy / Economics / Re: Predicted Price of BTC on: March 13, 2014, 01:44:52 PM
It's possible, I suppose, that you could make predictions on non-volatile periods(like right now) based on past/historic non-volatile data.

I agree with this, unless you were to try to remove periods of volatility from the equation which I suspect would just make things worse.

It's a pretty interesting idea though!
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: REWARD! Please make Windows and/or Mac Wallets for my new cryptocurrency! on: March 10, 2014, 08:20:04 PM

they are even cheaper if paid directly to Bitmain with bitcoins, but nothing beats speed/ease of using Amazon Smiley

$150 dollar savings beats Amazon every time

100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good thing for two-factor authentication. Coinbase account definitely hacked. on: March 10, 2014, 06:32:43 PM
Got an authentication text from Coinbase out of the blue and thought it was suspicious so I logged on to my account and has a password reset request from China...

Guess I'm gonna have to move ALL of my coin to paper wallets. Seems like Coinbase is no longer safe even for the tiniest bit of coin I had on there.

Just out of curiousity, where you a Gox customer?
