Is there is any issue on the login system or it's just me , it's being a time I didn't login to PrimeDice and now when I'am trying to , I'am getting the following error : Username, password, or 2FA is incorrect

Are u sure u are entering correct password and 2fa ?

Hi , Yes im pretty sure that i'am entering the correct password , and for the 2 Factor Authentification well .; I don't have any so I simply leave it blank I guess  Undecided Undecided

Is your password the same here as it is in PD? Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people get their PD and other bitcoin related accounts hacked due to the forum hack. Your personal details such as email address and password hashes will likely already be on the black market and leaked publicly eventually so make sure you change everything especially if all your accounts can be linked via email or reuse passwords etc.

All the info is in the image metadata. You can turn it off in your camera or phone settings. And don't some image hosts like imugr strip images of all this stuff when you upload them? Maybe try that for extra security. And who was this member? Maybe it's related to the hack?

I think in a lot of countries you don't have to pay anything for basic tv channels. You have to have a TV license in the UK which is about £100 for the basic five 'terrestrial' channels but you can get many more for free with things like Freeview or Freesat. I wouldn't pay anything for TV personally.

How does this TV license work? I mean what stops me from buying an antenna for home use and watching them? Are they transmitted encoded in some way or how they control that people buy those licences at all?

Basically the only way they know is because you haven't got one. If you have an antenna and a tv then you'll need one and they'll send you a letter stating that you haven't purchased one yet and you need to. If you don't then they'll send someone round to check you're not watching or have a TV. If you don't let them in there's nothing much they can do without a warrant but they usually keep pestering you. There are ways you can get around paying it though. You don't need one if you haven't got an Ariel and you can just stream shows instead. You'll need one if you live stream from bbc iplayer but not if you stream them after their live broadcast. It's a bit of a racket really and should be scrapped. The BBC should get their funding elsewhere as its only the BBC you're paying for.

This is far too elaborate to be anything other than a job done to order

How so? It obviously took planning but so does any half-decent heist but that doesn't necessarily it was 'done to order'.

Wow. They sure drilled a large hole through that concrete wall. Pretty amazing how long they were able to stay there.

Was a bank holiday weekend so they had days. They even left and came back again. Pretty ballsy.

Well it looks like people have already been badly effected by their info being leaked and I'm sure it will become publicly available at some point. It looks like several accounts have already been hacked and over the next few days I'm sure we'll see people complaining about having other accounts hacked or bitcoin balances cleaned out and so on.
86  Other / Meta / Re: About the recent server compromise on: May 25, 2015, 10:50:37 PM
If it happens again I'm going to stop posting on here & find somewhere else.
It's ridiculous that with 1.5 million USD donated they can't stop attacks like this happening.
Imagine if people had wallet back ups in their emails, bank details etc.
I think it's disgraceful.

It wasn't the forum's fault but the hosting. The new forum is being made now but that wouldn't have stopped this either and its being tested to make sure there are no holes or ways to exploit it. And people shouldn't keep their bank details or back ups of their wallets in their emails especially if they can't keep it secure.
87  Other / Meta / Re: Influx of Hacked Accounts on: May 25, 2015, 10:47:35 PM
More worried about virus emails  Sad

Simple solution: don't open them. I wouldn't click on any email I didn't like the look of especially ones that mention btc.
88  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] G-Tor Portable WiFi (Better than Anonabox) on: May 25, 2015, 10:44:21 PM
Why would you need to use one of these and not just use tor? What are the additional benefits?
89  Other / Meta / Re: About the recent server compromise on: May 25, 2015, 10:30:46 PM
Personally what I am most curious about is why someone would go to such trouble to hack this forum ?

As most here are going to be way above average in security habits the chance of getting a password to something else is almost nil (and they were not stored in plaintext although I guess the attacker may have hoped they would be) .

Was it an enemy of bitcoin ??

You'd be surprised at how many people will reuse emails and passwords. I'm sure many do the same with their blockchain.info accounts too. Regardless of that, the infodump of all this forum's users emails would be very valuable to advertisers or scammers/spammers but maybe whoever hacked it did it just because he could. Some people just like finding security holes though I'm sure the person will try get some money out of the info he has.
90  Other / Meta / Re: Influx of Hacked Accounts on: May 25, 2015, 10:18:00 PM
about 80% of accounts here have a fake email address set. People are reluctant to use real email addresses so they can stay anonymous. Only thing people can do is log in and change their password before the hacker can crack it.

Some of those 80% will still have access to the fake/throwaway email accounts, some wont. It takes 5 minutes to setup a spare email account for security / spam and it only needs to be checked 1 a year to make sure it remains active. Anyone that isn't maintaining these accounts in a password manager is irresponsible and deserves to become a newbie again.

no i mean 80% of the emails are invalid, they aren't temporary emails, they are invalid that bounce emails back. Most people just entered sadasdsdfgdfgdfgdfa@gmail.com or similar, the email accounts don't exist. The only authentication the forum has is password/security question, email is no good for us, even satoshi's account has an invalid email though that is likely on purpose.

Why would you need the password or anything else to accounts like sadasdsdfgdfgdfgdfa@gmail.com when you could just create the gmail account yourself and reset the pass? Once you had the list of obviously fake emails you could create any that used real providers.

I am not sure why anyone would consider not using a VPN. They are really not very expensive to use and they provide a lot of added privacy.
If you believe that the majority of the users here use a VPN you are wrong.

I don't think he stated or insinuated that, just that people should consider using them.

Have others received an email from the forum? I took a quick peek. Just want to verify if isn't something fishy.

Yes, they were sent out by theymos en masse, though that doesn't mean you might not have recieved a phishing mail. I'm sure the hacker will try something with our emails.

Just kidding, some people purposed me that's why i'm asking.

I remember there is separated thread for applying Smiley Good luck!

Idk if there will be new mods now . We will see .

lets wait for stunna because i still have no idea that it was him who demoted me

Didn't you only get made a mod on PD only a short while ago?
93  Other / Meta / Re: About the recent server compromise on: May 25, 2015, 03:29:06 PM
@Theymos , thanks for your hard work .. a question tho ... if we don't change password and that password isn't the same as our email adresses then we should be good right ? just curious i will change my pass anyway

No, you should change it because it could be broken eventually especially if it was a weak password. I wouldn't take any chances.
94  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk database dump on: May 25, 2015, 03:09:16 PM
And they'd be charging a lot more than 0.3 for it. A dump of the email addresses would be very valuable to both hackers and advertisers. They'll probably get leaked eventually in some form so I'd make sure your email addresses are secure and if they're a fake one make sure it cannot easily be created.
95  Economy / Services / Re: [1 OPEN SLOT] Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.16 BTC Per Month! on: May 25, 2015, 02:55:09 PM
Giving users extra time seems logical and fair. I've just requested the same over on my campaign. Don't forget to change your passwords and make sure your email addresses are as secure as can be because the hacker could target them for easy access.
96  Economy / Services / Re: [Full] Bit★Starz.com May Signature Campaign – up to 0.12 BTC and more per month on: May 25, 2015, 02:52:51 PM
Will we be able to get an extension for the days the forum was down if needed? An extra week would be good seeing as how we also started 5 days into the new month. Thanks.
97  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bit-X Debit MasterCard on: May 21, 2015, 06:30:08 PM
That's why I personally don't use exchanges. If I wanted to cash out I'd probably just sell locally or through a bank transfer or something on here. Always best to cut out the middle man and that's why I think we're in desperate need for decentralized exchanges.
98  Economy / Gambling / Re: Will AI end online poker? on: May 21, 2015, 06:24:54 PM
Yes it will happen. In chess it is already reality. The world champion only has a chance against a not so good AI that fits his style. He gets the source code 3 months before the event, so that he can analyse everything. And then he looses.

So what? Poker will get a game of nerds coding AIs against security expert Nerds who check if a player is AI or human. Grin
I have some open source chess programs. Would like to get some open source poker AIs. I would like to open an Bitcoin/Altcoin casino, but not in Germany. I have to leave the country. Roll Eyes

Chess is a game of skill where ideally you need to plan moves in advance whereas poker is a game of chance down to the luck of the draw. The computer can't know what cards your opponents have either. I can't see how a computer would be any better than a human at it really.
99  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you watch Eurovision song contest? Share you opinion on: May 21, 2015, 06:15:40 PM
Shows like that are a good example of why I quit paying for television almost 3 years ago. So no I don't watch that.

Since when do you have to pay for TV? Eurovision isn't exactly enthralling entertainment but its a bit of camp fun. I had no idea it was on to be honest but I probably wouldn't have watched it as I had other things to do.

The more people who work on 'a job', the more likely someone will slip up and reveal some incriminating evidence (bragging to friends etc)

I doubt the police will recover all the items but time will tell, there's part of me that wishes they had gotten away with it all Smiley

Yeah, there's always going to be some lose ends and they left quite a bit of dna and fingerprint evidence behind apparently. Them being caught certainly ruins the mystery and intrigue of it all but at least we might get to know the full picture of how they pulled it off. Someone will roll over and grass and spill the beans on how it went down for a shorter sentence or something.
