Not sure how much this has been covered by the media outside of the UK so I thought I'd share. This is going to make a great movie...

So it seems most of them have been charged with the robbery now. I think this has to be one of the greatest heists ever pulled off and it will definitely be interesting to see if any more info comes out about how they planned it or if they got a tip off. I think it must have been at least partly an inside job.

Insane how deep they drilled that hole in the wall.

Just goes to show you insanely thick metal-inforced concrete walls wont necessarily keep people out. They say it may have only taken 2-3 hours to drill through. I wonder if they'll ever make a movie out of this? Not sure how sexy or glamorous the story is but it's impressive nonetheless.

Yes 8 people appeared in court today for conspiracy to burgle. 1 has been bailed and another arrested today. Apparently they recovered a bag containing 'many high value items' they believe are from the vault. Looks like their balls were bigger than their brains...

This is something I'll never understand. It's like the Ross Ulbrict situation. They have the intelligence and tact to pull off massive jobs but then go and do foolish things that unravel their entire criminal enterprise. Even I know to not keep the goods at your own property. They should have taken them and themselves out of the country immediately. Most experts believed they would have done so. All that work just to end up in prison for a decade most likely.

The more people who work on 'a job', the more likely someone will slip up and reveal some incriminating evidence (bragging to friends etc)

I doubt the police will recover all the items but time will tell, there's part of me that wishes they had gotten away with it all Smiley

Yeah, there's always going to be some lose ends and they left quite a bit of dna and fingerprint evidence behind apparently. Them being caught certainly ruins the mystery and intrigue of it all but at least we might get to know the full picture of how they pulled it off. Someone will roll over and grass and spill the beans on how it went down for a shorter sentence or something.

This is far too elaborate to be anything other than a job done to order

I know, in my opinion these guys probably have no idea the extent they've been setup. Who knows what was really in some of those boxes? Someone gave the orders to get a crew together. These guys were the unlucky ones chosen...

Wow. They sure drilled a large hole through that concrete wall. Pretty amazing how long they were able to stay there.

How so? It obviously took planning but so does any half-decent heist but that doesn't necessarily it was 'done to order'.

Was a bank holiday weekend so they had days. They even left and came back again. Pretty ballsy.
