an update >> to make a long story short >> After checking the port and the rounter once again - I had to change the router to a NEW one. I just did so. I plugged-in all the wires to the NEW router, and I after a few minutes I've got connected to the Internet and to the bitcoin network automatically!! even though I was using a NEW router, broght directly from the IT store (probably because of the Internet Provider's remote access). I'd got immediatly connected to http://178.62.20.190/ for a few secondsattaching image  after a few more seconds, I was connected to other nodes - with Incoming and Outgoing connections: attaching image #2  BTW - on site http://178.62.20.190/ - my IP status is NOT ACTIVE, while at the same time on https://bitnodes.21.co/ I am reachable and active. I have been running full nodes for 2 years. No problem with the firewall, and no problem with the IP, which haven't been changed.
I've got unreachable to other nodes since yesterday. Before all was well, and nothing was changed on my PC, firewall, IP etc. I have also restarted my PC and router a couple of times, but still 0 (zero) Incomming connections on the network bebug window in my bitcoin client.
Can it be a bug on the v0.13.0rc1 ? Should I change back to client 0.12.1?

I have been running version update 0.13.0rc1 for a week or more. Port 8333 on my router was/is open. My PC (win.7) is up and running almost 24/7.
From yesterday morning, I've noticed that on my client wallet - the help > debug window > information shows that the number of Incoming connections stands on 0 (zero), and Outgoing connections stands on 8. which means that I have been unreachable from other nodes for more than a day.
When checking bitnodes.21.co tools, to check if my Bitcoin client is accepting incoming connections from other nodes - i get an unreachable result. My IP is statics, and doesn't change.
Any ideas why?

I am running a full node (Satoshi:0.12.1). Today I've noticed a new peer connection BTCC:.11.2 and BTCC:0.12.1. What are these nodes? Who are they? Chinese?

Don't you need at least a smartphone for transacting? I remember that there was some currency which proposed setting up wallets and enabling transactions through SMS, but I am not sure what happened post that.
It's for the entrepreneurs out there to figure the right model to execute it. Huge financial-untapped-nieche with great potential. Today's unserved can be (and should be) tomorrow's best and most welcomed ones. Can Bitcoin handle this scenario? |

How are they going to get money in the first place to buy bitcoin? Locally? I doubt it. They need a way to convert fiat in hand to bitcoin. I think bitcoin is a great idea for such folks but I don't know how it's going to happen. It definitely is useful to have a bank account--but that's your point and I get it.
My question is different... Can these 'unserved but servable' people hold a private-key with their mobile-device (with backups, like phrase words), and get 100 shatoshi wallet for free to be sent/ or recieved (and registered), like an online bitxoin-faucent website? It's their lifetime crypto-financial unique starting point. You my claim that 100 shatushi is very little "in our real world", but that's negotiable... These are 100 bits of new (endless) financial possibilities and paths. |

Unserved doesn’t mean unservable. From the 2.5 billion people worldwide, who have no access to banking-services, half of them already have a mobile phone (and the other half can be granted a mobile phone). How can bitcoin help them enter the local and global village matrix, assuming their first step is a phone-call?

Which third party software? Is it safe to use? I don't know of any that would do that. I just know that Bitcoin Core itself does not give any visualizations of anything. I'm (possibly) sure theirs only information on which nodes are connected to the network, but, not actually the chain of nodes that broadcasted their IP:Port to make them visible. well, it would be easy to do if you could access a history of which nodes broadcasted which nodes, and which nodes broadcasted them...... but you can't, and you can't listen to port 8333 to find which nodes are connected to you (because bitcoind would be using it) the only possible options, would be to get a list of known nodes in the network and individually request which nodes they're connected to and then map out the results... but i also doubt that theirs an API to query nodes for this information, if there's, you would need the username/password (per node) to make an RPC request. But you can see each connected nodes, and their IP (which helps determine their location) heretl;dr: no... So nothing to show my brother and parents who were "staring" at my PC, looking at the bitcoin-core, and seeing nothing - and trying to understand it. It (the core) doen't have an incentive, unlike mining... |

Both to be blamed. Fiverr is a good platform but they dont accept Bitcoin. Check out SEOClerk. It may be limited to only tech related services but they accept Bitcoin. Next time use an escrow or trade with someone that can be trusted. You said you came across this scammer at fiverr right? I think you can easily track who is he or she.
Fivver do accept bitcoins, btw. fyi. Yes, I came across this scammer at fivver, but I broke their rules for paying him directly via skype conversation. Should I pay extra 5$ via fivver to ruin his reputation? Is it worth it? |

I have been scammed for 0.18 BTC for a careless skype conversation with a stranger (which I've came accross on http://www.fiverr.com). Had I used their fiverr payment platform - this would have been avoided, but I've paid him with bitcoins directly. That was my mistake. Looking back on this, I take full responsibility, as it was my fault and stupidity forwarding this stranger the money - for such a risky thing to do. I've learnt my lesson. It still bugs me, is there anything I can do (i.e. tracking this person? money?) Transaction 82d70e9f3e7b1d9465082643b351c52cbdbcedb793397ba5814f991ea19c7908 If you want to recover your money, pretty much nothing you can do. As bitcoin is irreversible, the only thing you can do is track which address he sends it to , but that would be just wasting your time as bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous. Next time use an escrow or if you are dealing on fiverr, use their platform, let this be a lesson. Am I the only one to be blamed for forwarding the money in such a stupid way? or he is to be blamed too, for giving bitcoin such a bad reputation, for being a heaven for scammers? |

These numbers are too low, 21 miners, that's a joke. 5500 nodes are to few either.
5500 nodes are too few either - that is right... but the REAL numbers are even lower than that: currently much less than 5200 and dropping on daily basis. The sad fact is that THERE IS NO WAY to increase the number of bitcoin core nodes worldwide. |
