81  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-09-04] BBC.com Why China's bitcoin miners are moving to Texas on: September 05, 2021, 06:27:56 PM
Doesn't really surprise me since China has been very confused with the regulations that it wants to place for crypto currencies. Hence, it's natural for miners to decide to move to some other country that doesn't just throw people under the bus for mining. Hence, Texas would obviously be one of the good choices owing to its electricity policy and the outlook towards crypto.

You can tell that junk them
https://1000covidstories.com/
This seems to be some interesting stuff. Will definitely watch some of this. But to begin with, the page tells that the 99.98% survive COVID below the age of 70. But in reality, those aged 60-70 still have a 3.6% chance of dying and those aged 50-60 have a chance of dying of 1.3% (Refer this). So, i felt it might be factually inaccurate. But nonetheless, i will check this and get back.

Is this in connection with the vaccine? Because the article only talks about the drug that is used in the cure of COVID.
83  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If Humanity Want To Defeat COVID, They Must Use Proactive Herd Immunity Strategy on: September 05, 2021, 05:51:28 PM
Vaccines are a weakened form of the virus and dont cause severe problems to 99.99% of the population. A live virus on the other hand can kill 2-5% of the population (depending on the variant). But somewhere the herd immunity plan can backfire. If you see India's example or that of USA currently, where they had mentioned that healthy individuals can come out and those at risk stay at home, the situation had got out of control and there were a lot of deaths.

What my main point is that you can rely upon someone who hasnt studied virology to give ideas on how to create herd immunity. Currently all of the experts ask to take the vaccine and practice social distancing to reduce spread of the virus and it mutating into new variants. That is the need of the hour.

This news doesn't even belong to India. India doesn't even have pfizer vaccine yet. It is yet to come to India (govt in talks). Also, it is quite possible that a small number of people may suffer some side effects. But in percentages it is very negligible.

And next time you lie like a arse dont forget to change local time, it is now 9:15 pm in india.
I had merely not changed the offset timings. I prefer to keep it to the standard forum timings. That in itself doesn't make me a liar. Don't just come up with stupid arguments to call me a liar. And i merely said what i am observing first hand in my own locale and country without creating a fear for vaccines. It is easy to create a fear of vaccines sitting at the comfort of your home. But it is harder when you lose someone due to COVID, especially after shortage of vaccines or due to the fear of taking it.

Also, dont take my comments personally. I am thrashing the news report that is spreading the false news that vaccines always affect people adversely and i'm not abusing you. Please maintain some decency.

As post-vaccine deaths are now ravaging India and Brazil, across the United States people are noticing a sudden surge in automobile accidents on roadways.
...

I am from India, and this shit is fake  Embarrassed Embarrassed there is no sudden surge in post vaccine deaths. In fact, those who have taken the vaccines have been able to recover from COVID-19 faster than those who have not been vaccinated. From all the deaths, that happened in April/May in India, 99% of them had not been fully vaccinated. It was the opposition, anti-vaxxers and media that created a fear of taking vaccines and which lead to death of of many people during the rise in cases. Had they taken the vaccine, their chances would have been much better.

To be clear, my family has been fully vaccinated and we are all doing great. In fact, i drove to and back from a vacation for 5 hours each without losing any of the brain motor functions that the shit news speaks about.

Please spread positive and real news that can actually help people.
86  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If Humanity Want To Defeat COVID, They Must Use Proactive Herd Immunity Strategy on: September 05, 2021, 03:11:34 PM
The method of finding proactive herd immunity the way you suggested could potentially kill a lot of the test subjects from the initial lot itself. The human body is so complex that you cannot judge whether a human can survive direct exposure to SARS COV-1. Hence, it is very important to take the vaccine at the moment. Not just the media, even the CDC recommends it. Vaccine in itself may not be completely effective in defeating this pandemic, but it lays down the initial steps towards defeating it.

Also, regarding herd immunity, one thing that i want to point out is that India, which has one of the poorest healthcare, sanitization, etc has had its population exposed to all sorts of viruses and microbes that now it has the least deaths per million population. Though it had huge surge in cases in April, the overall death ratio has been much lesser than what it has been in most european countries and the US. This goes on to show that first world countries, because of their high regard for cleanliness have compromised their herd immunity.
87  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Insurance is a pyramid scheme on: September 05, 2021, 02:59:47 PM
Well, insurance is neither a pyramid scheme or a ponzi scheme. Insurance premiums are calculated based upon actuarial sciences and calculations. Hence, if you are buying something like a car insurance, the insurance company fixes up the premium based on the probability of the payment that might flow and accordingly charge the premium. In case of term insurances which are only until some fixed age, like 60, the life insurance company will calculate the probability of you dying and accordingly charge the insurance premium. There is a complete field of studies behind this, called actuarial sciences. I would suggest you research more on this.
88  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-09-01] Twitter Beta Testing Bitcoin Tipping Feature on: September 05, 2021, 02:46:29 PM
Glad to know that Twitter themselves are implementing this. Earlier i guess we could only use Bitfortip for getting this done. With a feature within Twitter, this ought to be really wonderful.
89  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-09-04] Crypto as commodity: What does it mean for you and the industry? on: September 05, 2021, 02:43:58 PM
Yes, this is a good move from India perspective since it helps to legalize crypto in the emerging economy. I would be really happy if this happens.

However, I am curious in relation to treatment of the cryptocurrencies and NFTs from a GST perspective, since it has not been mentioned anywhere.
90  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-09-04] 70% of Salvadorans opposed to Bitcoin Law as Sep. 7 implementation on: September 05, 2021, 02:39:26 PM
While I strongly support Bitcoin implementation, it should never be forced upon people who do not understand the basics of Bitcoin. The Government needs to run programs to educate people on how Bitcoin has to be used and what are the safeguards to be observed before implementing Bitcoin nationwide. While it is easier to say people need to learn it right away, some people may be averse to using new technology. Hence, a proper implementation methodology needs to be prepared.
91  Local / India / Re: Banks are repotedly softening their stance on crypto trading on: September 05, 2021, 02:25:09 PM
Few of the things in the OP are a little incorrect. Regarding the point of RBI warning the banks, it has also issued a clarification that crypto is not banned in India. And by virtue of the Supreme Court order in March 2020, the RBI circular which was issued earlier was withdrawn. Accordingly, the banks are also softening their stance on crypto trading.

You can read more on the development of crypto legality in India here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5339221.msg57065554#msg57065554
92  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Guide to deposit to/withdraw from exchanges if Central Bank/RBI restricts Banks on: September 05, 2021, 02:21:11 PM
That's a great workaround it seems. Might come handy when we need to withdraw or continue trading in overseas account. Because p2p trading might cone with a risk in case banks keep a constant vigil on such transactions. But is Octafx registered in India? If not, from which bank account you will receive your money from.

If you receive too many foreign deposits in your bank account, you might have to face scrutiny from bank or income tax department. So use with caution.

OctaFX does have a subsidiary in India and runs multiple advertisements in India. Though investment in forex is banned in India, you can use OctaFX as a medium of converting your bitcoin/ether into rupees.

However, given that currently RBI has clarified that crypto is not banned in India, this entire issue itself should not arise.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spain bans betting adds - no celebrities, no sport sponsorship, no daytime adds on: September 05, 2021, 09:38:34 AM
This is going to hurt the income of most sports clubs in Spain, since these ads are a huge source of revenue for them. But somehow i think they will find a loophole through these rules. Somewhere in line with how liquor ads are shown in Indian television. The betting companies can create a similar company that is into some other business but has the same name and run ads of the other company which does not attract the ban.

Also, does anyone know if this has anything to do with Barca not being able to afford Messi?
94  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Slovenian crypto tax proposition on: September 05, 2021, 09:25:40 AM
This is a very good move, though it means a lot of taxes; especially in an era where some countries are planning on banning the cryptocurrencies, it is good to see a country that is ready to accept cryptocurrencies and tax it, making it legitimate in their country. Also, the limit is good enough to avoid taxing low usage of crypto.
95  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Look!!! Zimbabwe and its citizens as the poorest country has been made rich by b on: September 05, 2021, 08:44:33 AM
These Bitcoin rocket scheme looks a lot like a scam, since telling that a trading bot is earning millions for everyone is most likely lying. Also, Zimbabwe has been haunted by Bitcoin Pyramid scams of which you can read the latest here: https://news.bitcoin.com/mastermind-of-zimbabwean-bitcoin-pyramid-scheme-vanishes-with-6-million/
96  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Millions of Dollars in Bitcoin 'Incorrectly Credited on: August 29, 2021, 04:29:48 PM
Legally, does the company have the right to do so? I mean, as long as the increased amounts came to users through the company's mistake, does the law allow to punish users who withdrew excessive amounts?
Withdrawing in excess of your assets in your account is not ethical of course but I am curious to know what the law thinks in this case. This is an interesting legal case. I hope there are some legal experts out there to tell us about this issue from a legal point of view.

Contract act in most countries (mine is India which is based a lot on British Laws) state that any action that is done by mistake doesn't tantamount to a valid contract. Thus it is revocable and void ab initio - meaning it is not valid right from the beginning. Also, most laws have "doctrine of unjust enrichment" which prevents someone from getting rich by creating loss to another without a valid consideration.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Buy WINk on: August 23, 2021, 10:15:51 PM
You can buy it on Wazirx. It's an exchange where you can buy it for very low trading fees. I guess it should work for you in any country. Please do try and let me know. Thanks.

100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] Create your own pixel art NFT using an image on: August 17, 2021, 09:44:41 AM
Dear All,

If you are interested in creating a NFT out of your own image or painting or any sort of art, I will create the pixel art for you for just 0.001 ETH (~$3) and mint it as a NFT on Ethereum or Polygon blockchain which would be automatically listed on OpenSea. You pay only at the time of collecting the NFT.

What's the process? - DM me your image, your Ethereum address and the blockchain (Ethereum/Polygon) where you wanted this minted on my Instagram or DM me here or respond to this thread - Or you can do all of these. Also, let me know the kind of pixel art that you want i.e. 16x16 or 32x32 or 64x64 or 128x128 etc. (I can do higher too). You can also customize the length of the pixel i.e. you can keep it 1 pixel of photo equal to 1 pixel or as 16 pixel (i would definitely recommend 16). Just be sure that you have the rights to use the image.

What will be done with the image - I will create a pixel image as per your requirement and mint it on the Ethereum or Polygon blockchain using OpenSea.io. Once this is minted, I will place a private offering to your Ethereum address. Then I will inform you of creating this in Instagram or here responding to your message.

How to claim the NFT - Once you receive my message, log in to OpenSea using your Ethereum wallet, and check my collection on OpenSea. You will find your NFT waiting to be claimed. You can pay the agreed price i.e. 0.001 ETH and claim the NFT. In case you want it minted on Ethereum, at the time of claiming the NFT, your wallet would also require you to pay the gas fees for the minting process. On Polygon, it is completely free on OpenSea and hence this is the recommended option.

Wondering why the price is so low? - Well, this is more of a promotional act in order to get attention for the rest of my art work and my collaborator The Candid Artist. Please do check out our collections and drop a like if you like any of the artwork. We also create other customizable pixel art or paintings and would be happy to take up commissions, if you are interested in it. Let us know on this.

Thank you.
