81  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1.25 GH/s Mining Rigs for $500 shipped on: January 03, 2012, 07:06:50 AM
Right now a user is interested in buying all of them.

The user ended up backing away from the offer. Please PM me if you are interested.
82  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1.25 GH/s Mining Rigs for $500 shipped on: January 03, 2012, 12:42:27 AM
Would you be willing to part with a PSU or 2?

Right now a user is interested in buying all of them. He's in a state that has a low electric rate and a temperate climate, which I envy greatly. If that plan falls through and the demand for whole systems is low, I'll start parting them out. For now, I want to try to keep them whole.

Hi Brian,

If you don't mind me asking, why are you selling your rigs now?

Thanks,
gigavps

I'm moving soon and I won't have the room or the electric capacity to handle all this hardware. It takes 10 kilowatts to run all of it. Not the best timing considering the price has doubled in the last month, I'd love to keep doing it. Anyone with a cheap electrical source can get a lot hashes for pretty cheap.

Also, I got your messages after not visiting the forum for over a month, and perhaps not noticing them.

This is awesome

Thanks!  Smiley

It took a couple failed attempts to get it right. It wasn't pretty.

Hey, how do you have the cards mounted? are they just sitting there?

They're standing up on their own. A velcro strap ties the 6-pin power connector to the main 24 pin power connector to prevent them from falling over. It's tedious but it works once you have it just right.

Just sent payment for 2 5830's via Paypal. Please check PM.

Got it, thank you very much! I'll ship at the soonest possibility.

If you do part out, I'd be interested in the price on mobo/cpu/ram together?

If there is high demand for just the GPUs I'll start parting them out. For what you listed, $100 shipped. Prices will change depending on demand.
87  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1.25 GH/s Mining Rigs (Sixteen Rigs Total) on: January 02, 2012, 03:28:22 AM
75 shiped would be ok
still have a few extras? interested. Ill take 2 if you have them.

I can do $80 shipped. I have three extras. I'll start parting them out if there is high demand for the GPUs.

89  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Custom Mining Rig Shelf w/ Ventilation Exhaust on: January 01, 2012, 10:04:01 PM
I'm selling these two shelves I made that ventilate and keep cool my sixteen mining rigs. Each shelf holds eight rigs and handles 5 Kilowatts of electricity. Air is drawn from the back and exhausted directly out a window. The fan is a 12" Vortex inline fan. It is encased in a styrofoam cooler filled with insulation to keep the noise down. The fan is very powerful and it can handle up 88 °F (31 °C) before the rigs become too warm for my comfort. The fan also comes with a variable speed control for those cooler days where you don't need full power. The pink foam piece fits snugly in my window and seals completely shut when I close the window on it. Obviously, you will probably need to custom fit the foam piece for your needs unless you are very lucky.

The first shelf uses the over-and-out method and the second has the fan directly attached to the back of the shelf and exhausts directly out the window. With a little bit of work you can easily switch them around how you like. The over-and-out method takes up less space and is quieter, but diminishes the airflow a bit. The direct method is definitively louder, takes up more space, but makes up for it with great airflow. The lighting isn't perfect for the photos and came out darker than what I hoped for. I submited my setup to Bitcoin Mining Rig Competition and got a few votes but didn't win. Wink

Disassembling then shipping them is a bit too much work, so I've got rid of them. But, I'll keep the photos up for anyone that would like replicate them.

Here are the rigs that are currently in the shelf.

90  Economy / Goods / [Sold!] 1.25 GH/s Mining Rigs for $500 shipped (16 Total) on: January 01, 2012, 09:31:24 PM
I have over a dozen mining rigs that operate at 1.25 GH/s each. I have been running all of them for six months and have never experienced a failure in any part. The wattage varies from 650 watts to 750 watts due to circumstances I never figured out. Some might be concerned that the watt usage comes close to the rated wattage of the power supply. I've never had a problem with any of the sixteen power supplies that have all been running for six months. They are rated gold and stay quite cool during full load.

  • 4x SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5830
  • ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870 Motherboard
  • AMD Sempron 140 Sargas 2.7GHz Socket AM3 45W Single-Core Processor

  • Western Digital 40GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

If anyone from Eastern Alabama wants to see the rigs in person I can make that happen.

Asking $500 in the equivalent in bitcoin. Paypal is $515. Free shipping within the continental United States. Anywhere else I'll have to calculate the shipping costs and charge the additional cost.

Please ask any question you may have.

Here are the shelves that house and ventilate the rigs.

we didn't start this thread or announce ourselves at all...We were discovered in mid development by a few in the bitcoin community...we put up a pre-order page to keep it orderly...gmax heard about our project and posted...we hadn't expected to enter the market at the time our project was discovered.

You launched a website showcasing your product and you're surprised that it got found out? Before gmax, how did the "few in the bitcoin community" find out about your product? Did you expect them to be quite about it?

BFL, can you address this post please? Thanks.

94  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The Ultimate Mining Environment... on: November 24, 2011, 09:02:20 AM
It's not scalable because nobody makes a really really huge 6970  Undecided

I've made previous offers to sell mining space in the past...anybody in the Midwest want to mine here for a discount off your electric bill?

You are, however, offering to host more equipment.
95  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The Ultimate Mining Environment... on: November 24, 2011, 01:57:25 AM
...is where I reside.   Midwest cool weather + a basement = a 6970 running at 73C with fan at 27%.

The first thing I noticed as wrong, ,,, " 73C with fan at 27%"  Try adding 40 x 5850 and check back the temp/fan speed.

Heck! it is minus 10c and my windows are still wide open (kidding)

In the summer I had to keep my fan at at least 60% to maintain 73C or below.

It's hard for people who have never run 10 kilowatts of electrical equipment to realize just how much heat that produces. Even a quarter of that and you will run into heating issues. During the winter you'd have to at least have good air circulation to exhaust the heat. During the summer, you'll absolutely have to have A/C equipment, no way around it. Your situation isn't scalable one bit. Apart from that, "free" electricity is usualy a rediclous claim which can only last so long before you're "found out." Nobody would want to risk that.

97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would banks need to do to push Bitcoin underground? on: November 22, 2011, 12:57:22 PM
1) Move money from anywhere to anywhere easily and cheaply.
Banks already do this.  Here in Europe, SEPA transfers are generally free, and just as popular as credit cards in some countries.

Anywhere means places besides Europe.

99  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $500 — Butterflylabs, is it a scam? on: November 12, 2011, 08:12:16 PM
I live in Kansas City and run the EMC bitcoin pool. I also work downtown. I can check this out any day of the week fairly easily. I'll keep an eye on the thread, but there's no need to fly some out out here or ship a product out when I can just stop by at any time.
BFL - being as I am local AND a pool op, give me a unit to test with. I will connect to my pool and verify the hashrate and validity of submitted work on the unit and report back here.  If your unit can push the specified hashrate to my pool from MY network, I would call that fairly conclusive evidence that it works.  I will also connect it to my testing environment that is not connected to the internet and verify hashrate that way as well.
I've been in contact with BFL via PMs.  They are on board with letting me test out a box for legitimacy and performance.
BFL just has to give me the word and I'll test a unit out the same day, both on the live pool and on my development site which is not open to the internet (and thus couldn't be pulling any hanky panky as far as hashrate goes.)  If it delivers anywhere close under those conditions, I'd say it's pretty conclusive.

It could have been done a long time ago, but they choose to prolong it.

Is there some reason Inaba hasn't been invited to walk into their office and prove definitively that they are at least developing this product? That would stamp out most of the claims of scamming. Every hour that goes by without this happening will continue to cement their reputation as scammers.
