I'm selling these two shelves I made that ventilate and keep cool my sixteen mining rigs. Each shelf holds eight rigs and handles 5 Kilowatts of electricity. Air is drawn from the back and exhausted directly out a window. The fan is a
12" Vortex inline fan. It is encased in a styrofoam cooler filled with insulation to keep the noise down. The fan is very powerful and it can handle up 88 °F (31 °C) before the rigs become too warm for my comfort. The fan also comes with a variable speed control for those cooler days where you don't need full power. The pink foam piece fits snugly in my window and seals completely shut when I close the window on it. Obviously, you will probably need to custom fit the foam piece for your needs unless you are very lucky.
The first shelf uses the over-and-out method and the second has the fan directly attached to the back of the shelf and exhausts directly out the window. With a little bit of work you can easily switch them around how you like. The over-and-out method takes up less space and is quieter, but diminishes the airflow a bit. The direct method is definitively louder, takes up more space, but makes up for it with great airflow. The lighting isn't perfect for the photos and came out darker than what I hoped for. I submited my setup to
Bitcoin Mining Rig Competition and got a few votes but didn't win.
Disassembling then shipping them is a bit too much work, so I've got rid of them. But, I'll keep the photos up for anyone that would like replicate them. Here are the rigs that are currently in the shelf.Brian DeLoach
