81  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: trustdice.io SCAM closed my account after winning at casino roulette on: May 05, 2024, 08:50:53 PM
If what's stated in the OP is true, then I'll be shocked to my bones that most casinos are rugpulling gamblers and tainting their own self-earned trust. How detrimental that'll be to them in future.
They still will, just not on this board. They'll address issues if it's raised on [let's say] gambling board or somewhere else. But once it's moved here, they'll refrain from it
haven't they got an explanation for this guy's case? I'm wondering how frustrating it can be to get logged out without an explanation (not even a response from the calcare/customer service)
Since no one bought their bullshit, they decided to never again engage in a scam accusation against their brand. Why? Because they might be put in a situation where they will lie or be shown as being incompetent again. So, their forum rep. decided it's better for business to remain quiet.
So basically, they refuse to pay huge winnings at their loss? Then, just to get away with it, they accuse the user of some minor case of misconduct??
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where would you prefer to watch your favorite team? on: May 05, 2024, 08:31:48 PM
Sincerely, I'd enjoy watching matches at viewing centers aside having a steady power supply, plus a smart TV at home... You tend to get the feeling to it fullest when you're around people of the same passion for the game....

But on the contrary, something terrible happened that scared me to my  freaking bones. A close relative of mine was shot at a viewing center by armed robbers... Luckily, he survived to tell his story, this is it; "They all came in, dressed in black and had gloves on, then made their way straight to the reception after ordering everyone to get on the floor" he tried to escape but got hit.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think casinos can stop demanding KYC? on: May 05, 2024, 07:53:38 PM
Casinos existed without the need for KYC's until the government made it a requirement, and they started demanding it. IMO If the government no longer requires casinos to do KYC verification for new gamblers
I'm afraid, this will never happen  Smiley
It cost them millions of dollars to begin the censorships, why should they decide to stop it anyway? I can only think of the government bringing up a more sustainable means to attack privacy on casinos - should KYCs get maneuvered, not just obliterating the system per se
We have no reason to think they are going to reverse their decision and start doing the opposite.
Not at this point.
I'd just like to see it be a little less invasive.
The sole purpose of censorship was privacy invasion. I'm afraid, this is gonna get even more worse and we're gonna be toast once people begin to discover other loopholes to evade the KYCs.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Neymar being addicted to online poker on: May 05, 2024, 07:36:09 PM
A recently viral video shows football star Neymar playing online poker while celebrating his daughter's birthday with a group of other people present.
Celebrities, bloggers and the Internet itself will only show you what they wanna let you see... Why would you quickly assume that the footballer is an addict, when you barely know nothing about his personal life? I could decide to listen to music and watch whatever videos, anytime and anywhere at all - That doesn't mean I'm addicted to my phone.

In his case, I have no business in adding any correctional value. He has all the money he wants and he could decide to either put it on a joker, or stake it up! Infact, gambling was made for the rich - cus in an actual sense, what does a poor man wagering with, when he barely has what to eat?
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 05, 2024, 07:12:37 PM
Gambling is becoming a popular thing in my locality almost everyone gamble and even colleagues gamble and engage in gambling related discussions at work,  so gambling is legal and very popular so there is no Shame in using part of a salary to gamble with that is why I am asking the question of what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?
I can't really accertain this as you haven't told us exactly what you do and how much your salary is...  Tongue But lemme assume it's the regular 9-5 job and that could be around $1500? Gambling with just 2% of that is enough for a month.

I don't know really get what you mean by "gambling being a popular thing in your locality " - I mean, who follows every societal trend and gets successful with it?
The right percentage from your salary that you should use to gamble can only be answered by you.
exactly!! How I'm I supposed to know this? I don't even know if he's got kids and all of that.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my gambling life started. on: May 05, 2024, 06:58:45 PM
Time goes where we increases the stakes to make us more serious to the extend we began to bet about $1 which we can afford to loose at other expenditures
What sort of expenditure do you make with just $1 bill? It's reasonable enough to rather say you started gambling away 'em cents from your momma's purse. If you're a Nigerian (and if), then I think you're just tryna f**k around.

I feel things won't go sideways until the day you decide to hit a casino house, or get 'em logins to a site. Getting registered and funding an account to wager is the hardest decisions that so many juvenile gamblers make so easily, without further considerations. So if this is an analogy of the real fact that degenerate gamblers are raised from the hood - just like you described, I think I'll tend to agree more.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Developing Winning Crypto Betting Strategies on: May 04, 2024, 09:59:10 PM
I am not expecting a betting site to be posting about winning betting strategies. I read the post and it was ridiculous. There is no betting winning strategies there. It is only about how to deposit coins and gamble with mBTC.
Honestly!! What's the dude talking about? If he's making an Intro on some strange betting site, why not concentrate on that for a fact? I believe everyone that choses to gamble away their coin would know how to make a deposit.
Lightning network has so much benefits for both the casinos and the player. For the casino, it increases their revenue because more people will sign up on their casino to take advantage of the fast deposit/withdraw time and low fees. I think there is a small role we can play to speak with our favorite casinos to adopt lightning network.
Have you considered the fact that you could evade the blockchain fees but you can't manipulate the casinos to agree with you on this,? Neither can you evade their charges - which, to some casinos, might be atleast $10 or more?
There are a lot of things written on your post but none of them really talks about winning strategies for betting.
I really thought to myself that maybe, I was daft never to have understood him at first... But since I've gotten some confirmations from atleast 6 different users, I have finally decided that dude doesn't have a clue on what he said.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation like this? on: May 04, 2024, 09:55:11 PM
Assuming you find yourself in a similar situation as this, what will you do? How will you handle the situation to make your parents trust you again?
People go through alot of awful things, just because they decided to dedicate their lives, wealth, insurance and properties into gambling..
Secondly, the worst thing would be breaking the family Trust; it's even more easy to regain your self - after several remorse from the effects of gambling - but it's worse when you betray people due to your lack of selfcontrol.
I can't assume myself in that position. In life, there are things you should learn to either AVOID or ADOPT. I wouldn't choose to gamble away my savings, talk more of the family fund.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting for reality not club affection on: May 04, 2024, 09:43:14 PM
Most times we are caught in between placing our bets on our favourite teams to win and not there present form, this action according to analysis shows that it's one of the reasons some persons don't win a sport bet, no matter how hard they try, a team that's not in form or getting the results shouldn't be on your sports betting slip, because they might continue the poor run of form and hurt your ticket,
i agree with the fact that anyone shouldn't wager on their teams to win. I keep wondering how proud one could be - even at some point, their teams performances over the past weeks might be as awful as any bad team in the championships.

But I'll certainly disagree with the last point of yours; if a team loses 3,4 or 5 times in a ROW, there's a possibility that they'll either struggle for a walkover, or win the match atleast. Every team's performance is determined by their position on the league table.
But don't take it at face value. I usually bet for them. It is simply that I am flexible (even fickle sometimes Tongue).
Assuming I'm a fan of one of the teams in the English premier League,; first thing that comes into play is understanding my team's performance at the time of play.  I could then decide whether or not to wager on 'em.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: May 04, 2024, 05:44:41 PM
Addiction is triggered by the continuous repetition of a habit, till it becomes a lifestyle. It's somewhat easy to begin, but becomes a problem that needs y'all to seek other people's consent when y'all wanna quit.
The greatest solution to not getting into addiction is to avoid wagering at all;  you can't eat your cake and have it .. Eitherways, we spend money on alot more unnecessary things and, gambling could just be one of 'em.

"The worst thing a man would do is put himself in a pit that would take only the aid of people outside to hover him out"
The reason why I'm not addicted to gambling is because even before I started to play gambling I already understand gambling and its addiction,.
That's not the reason why you are not addicted just yet. Smiley
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do casinos require users to verify their identity through a KYC policy? on: May 04, 2024, 05:13:45 PM
I've read a lot of comments in this board stating that a user is required to undergo KYC if their account is suspected of cheating. Can anyone explain how it is necessary related to the subject? A detailed explanation would be better, but everyone's ideas are welcome, as I believe it's worth discussing so gamblers will not be misled regarding this matter, which pops up from time to time.
I doubt if we've got any gambler that doesn't know the reason why casinos request for KYCs...well, if that was the case, I'd say KYCs are generally and compulsorily initiated by every individual regardless of who they are and whether or not they have multiple accounts. I believe even a kid knows about the recent money laundering sagas and how the governments are fighting to keep away from it - IMHO, crypto casinos would be one the smartest ways to move tainted coins, assuming there wasn't anything like KYC(know your customer)

Also, you might fall into a case of intrusion, by either your close friends or families... They can't have an access to your account for withdrawals of any sort [even though the passcodes code be saved to the device you're using.]
92  Other / Meta / Re: Locked threads on reputation board on: May 04, 2024, 04:38:12 PM
This hasn't been a long-standing problem, and while it might be annoying to some people, there's absolutely no restriction on the accused (or anyone else) starting up a rebuttal thread which ideally would reference the locked thread.
For the first time, I'll have to disagree with you, Chymist. Smiley
Are we gonna wait till it becomes a long standing problem to get rid of it? "When we've got all it takes to plant more tree to eschew erosion(which,is less laborious), why must we decide to Wait until the rain comes, then we begin making ridges/contour tillage"?
Initially - ain't gonna lie - I was against it (I already read a similar thread by act) .. Cus I thought I'd be a little bit controlling but, jackfuck racer is  slowly making the reputation board miserable.
Maybe threads can't be locked in these sections until after page 2-3?
page 3!!!!
If restrictions are applied, topic may be moved to another board, locked and returned again to the reputation board.

It is better to add a rule such as "locked topics should not be on the reputation board." Here we do not need to change the forum code and you can report topic to be moved to Archival.
I think this is even more Better.
It really makes no sense to raise an accusation and then block the debate.
shows cowardice. Makes no requal-sense!
93  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion for new information in poster info on: May 04, 2024, 04:03:07 PM
(Note:  If this takes more than $1,000,000 to implement, please ignore!)
$1m? Did I just read the op correctly, vod?
Quote
Newbies so often start threads and then abandon their account when conversations do not go their way.   Then other newbies come along and reply to the OP that hasn't been online for weeks.
That only happens mostly on introductory threads IMHO. We've got a few more of 'em that would come around and ask questions, then disappear just about the time the topic becomes debatable. As long as Bitcointalk remains a forum for frequent discussion, that could be useful - depending on what the context says! [ofcourse, ain't they creative newbies?]

It would be nice to have a notice near the name if the user has not logged in a while.  i.e: (Inactive for 6 days).  Could just be for newbies, or for every topic starter.
Again, If Theymos considers this to be perfect, it could go for an adoption. Personally, I don't think it's necessary i.e ( if the budget for the hosting is exactly what you described)
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin negatives on: May 03, 2024, 09:58:18 PM
93% premine to anyone born today.

100% premine to anyone born in 2140.

Causes toxic waste material (even hal said this).

Waste of energy that could be used to solve cancer or feed people (hal said this).
Everything is designated to work on its own for good...
Haven't you been reading through your state local budgets list? How much do they spend on housing and properties and unnecessary developments? Why don't you go ahead to protest against their doings?  You really wanna talk about things being toxic? Focus on your political toxicity!!
It cost alot to fight and gain freedom - especially through referendum... Bitcoin was introduced to help blunt the sharp edges of privacy intruders.
Edit;
To be fair, a lot of gold miners have actually exploited slave labor to extract the gold for them. But nobody has ever tortured another to mine bitcoins for them.

Edit:
Including the central banks itself -  Dude has no idea what he's talking about!
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accumulating Bitcoin or trading Bitcoin which is more wise to do. on: May 03, 2024, 09:44:53 PM
Trading is profitable, only if you understand the basics of analysis and quotation. The question should be - how efficient should a person be, to become a successful trader? Otherwise, I'd advise that you back out and HODL coin for the safety of your funds. I definitely did traded for sometime and made profit for the first few months (including loses), but it took away my time since I'd always prefer day trading.

on the other hand, HODLing requires less attention and skills.. All you gotta do is set up a hardware wallet - a type that would regenerate your priv keys offline (Trezor preferably)
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF good or bad? on: May 03, 2024, 09:31:51 PM
Will it trigger the development and acceptance of bitcoin as a new currency and investment instrument or will it drive us more and more under the control of governments?
Although the Renaissance of Bitcoin, there wasn't anything like ETFs...IMHO, there's never been some sort of support to aid the growing process other the devaluation of some local FIAT currencies.
Buying ETF is more like owing some shares capital; it doesn't mean you've got any Bitcoins... Most investors would go for this as a monitoring tool on Bitcoin price movement and volatility.
I mean, what's the sense in over paying brokerages - a tune that's much higher than the normal 30 sat/Vbyte?
So i think the impact of spot etf's can only be seen in the price, i.e. if there are huge outflows sometime later, then we can expect the price to drop too.
The influx was an increased price + volatility.
This will only make the government more hungry in time. Lol
97  Other / Meta / Re: I want to compile information of proposed additions to the bitcointalk.org forum on: May 03, 2024, 08:59:20 PM
From what I understand, bitcoin culture revolves around heavily the phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Quote
One day I was like "Yo, why can't I have a bitcoin wallet in my bitcointalk.org acc?".

Legendary forum users: "Why? Just use electrum xd."?
From the way you cultured everything, I thought you really had a good idea about Bitcoin, not until I read this... Mannn, WTF are you thinking? Holy crap!  Okay.. help me out! Would you rather store your Bitcoins in a centralized forum (assuming we had anything like that)? That's more like refilling your casino wallets with all your worth and earnings - do you not know about non-custodial wallets? [/sup][you've spent almost 2 years in here already. I'm not even sure this account is operated by the original owner][/sup]

There have been several things proposed and disposed over the years ... I can actually wrap my head around gloves' patches ... Now, I could go on and on, but you haven't stated the exact year - which also makes everything very suspicious.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly I'm curious, do I need to pay taxes on Bitcoin income? on: May 02, 2024, 09:52:05 PM
I asked chatgpt, and it answered that Bitcoin transactions are generally subject to tax, just like other forms of asset transactions.
Hold on a second, is this supposed to be a question or some tutoring phase on its own? If you could believe what an AI bot told you, then why should you bother asking further questions?

It's mandatory in most countries that you pay taxes for everything earnings; but unless you trade your coins, you're not eligible for any sort of taxation.
Taxation totally depends on your jurisdiction and where you live. For me, Bitcoin is illegal here, so I can't pay tax even if I want.
I'm not seeing any future purpose for liberation against the governments. That's just sad!
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MemoryDealers aka Roger Ver Arrested! on: May 02, 2024, 03:44:28 PM
50M in taxes is a lot of money... I wonder if this was just an excuse to arrest him, or if he really evaded all that.
C'mon Mann.. I don't think that's just some government stipulations - Unless they'd charge him with the fines for his crime .. Dude has been running Memorydealers.com and agilestar.com for as long as 12years now - who knows how long he's been evading 'em taxes?
He didn't murder anybody though. Somehow tax-evasion is in a gray area for me. Since the gov uses that tax money in a very stupid way most of the time, I too don't like paying taxes. On the top of that, they print money which is another tax. If they are collecting taxes, why are they printing money? If they are printing money why are they collecting taxes? This shit is so broken.
No, there's nothing stupid about it .. AFAIK, The monetary and financial regulatory system in any country works as good as what you described; they gotta make sure that currency notes don't suffer too much wear and tear thus, causing major devaluations.
Mopping out funds from circulation through the initiation of taxes, levies and internal revenue services would serve as a defence mechanism for the government and an easy way to control inflation

Edit:
He's a free-thinker and a freedom-lover, somebody who recognizes that something is terribly wrong with the world, and wants to do something about it.
I personally don't think Bitcoin Cash helped the world in any way, but kudos to you for looking for the positives.
The only thing I'd consider as a wrong narrative or say - a selfish misconception - would be that he tried to convince people to believe BCH is BTC.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ Sentenced, Your Bitcoin in their Custody on: May 02, 2024, 09:53:30 AM
The funny thing is they only tell you what they wanna tell you, not what you wanna hear. This is just another strategy for the governments to make it look like they're intolerable but, CZ isn't serving time in jail, don't be a p***y y'all!
Although if we think about it more broadly this is part of an attack on privacy, for which it seems to be money laundering anything that has to do with protecting it. And the bad news is that it seems to me that this has only just begun.
There's no privacy guarantee on CEXs - atleast away from the gov after inducing the KYCs - so I'd say, it's unimaginably a route that has been charged of several money laundering cases [just like you said], since they never had layeddown rule. $4 billion was enough to make the gov wheel away their initial penalty, as it is with every other criminal cases!
