81  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal For naim027. on: July 20, 2022, 10:42:18 AM
What is not clear to me is where is the line that divides being punished for plagiarism or not, because apparently you can copy up to 7 times without being banned.

I say this not so much because of Dic3L0v3r , since it seems that his ban is fair, and it is not clear to me if he should be pardoned in some way, but because I don't quite understand the other case.
82  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which crypto Youtuber called the top at 60-69k and told they would sell? on: July 20, 2022, 10:32:41 AM
None of them AFAIK, apart from Blockchain Backer, of whom I had never heard.

I don't think many people were expecting the price to behave like this. We had all taken it for granted that this cycle was going to be a repeat of the previous ones and that, therefore, the price was going to go much higher than $70,000.

The youtubers also make more money in bull markets than in bear markets and I think that a mixture of desire and reality prevented them, if there was anyone who smelled what was coming, from making a downward prediction and unwinding positions.

Plus imagine if a famous youtuber had made such a prediction and announced he was selling, and he was wrong, that the price had gone to $200,000 or thereabouts. He would have made a fool of himself.

83  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-07-20] Novogratz says ‘worst is over’ and that Bitcoin will surge on: July 20, 2022, 10:08:43 AM
Another news item in this style, but with the recent price increase, items like this I think are more wishful thinking than reality. And mind you, I too wish the worst was over and the price was going up, but to mention $500,000 now is laughable, when someone predicted last year that we would be at that price as of today.

I also remember the famous "I will eat my dick on national TV" who made similar failed predictions.  FFirst of $1,000,000 and then $500,000 by the end of 2020.

We will get to $500,000 at some point but I don't think it is very unbiased to talk about it now.

84  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analyst Names "Starting Point" for Next Bitcoin Bull Run !!! on: July 20, 2022, 09:57:40 AM
I don't pay much attention to these analysts either. The $30,000 may or may not be the start of a bull run. And I rather think not, because there is nothing to indicate that we can beat $69,000 this cycle, it would be quite unlikely. Rallies from these levels, sure we will have, but bull run I don't expect it before the next halving.
85  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: July 19, 2022, 01:57:09 PM
Plagiarism

The said user is copy-pasting sports articles without giving credits to the sources used. Intentionally changing/paraphrasing a few words to avoid detection which doesn't make it less of an abuse. Posts are partially or fully plagiarized, in most cases, his posts consist of material stolen from multiple articles.

User: Mr.right85

Bump, I'm demanding this report should be looked again by moderators since plagiarize 7 posts consecutive and given how @morvillz7z put a lot effort by exposing this plagiarizer since he edited his post 3 days after his report, it doesn't make sense this user didn't even get at least signature ban for 2+ years, I think he deserve a permanent banned as he's keep breaking the rule.

Previously I have reported a plagiarism and then he got permanent banned, why does this user is different? What about lovesmayfamilis's case where he only copy paste a one post with two sentences, but got temporary banned?

Sad to see a big contributor and newbie user got banned, but the one who didn't giving any contribution and milking the forum is survived until now.

I've just realized about this case as well. So, like one can get away with plagiarizing 7 times? Did he get a warning or something?
86  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Betfury not pay 2.7k$ on: July 19, 2022, 12:51:47 PM
<snip>
When you keep winning then it's a red alert for casino. Casinos are not charity but business. Strategically winning every bet for long streak is not possible too. It's not the AML and KYC only, they will check your betting behaviors, the market your placed bets, time of placing bets and many more factors before giving you a final decision.

In this case I think it is a statistically anomalous winning streak, and that is why they have started to investigate it. I don't know Betfury but if it is a legit site, after checking that the OP has done nothing wrong (if so), they will refund the money.

I will advice EthDoo to wait for the days they said and keep this thread active about it.

Me too.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Threshold of Loss in Gambling on: July 18, 2022, 10:57:46 AM
I think that threshold of loss various between gambler to gambler, it depends from his income ecc. About me, there isn't a threshold of loss, when I start to realize that I'm losing too much, I leave casino and go to have a walk, and will come to play in another day.

That should be.

I think that's how most players do it, responsible. Either they have a pre-established threshold that they don't exceed, or maybe they exceed it a little but they are able to stop, leave and come back another day with a fresh mind to try their luck.

The problem is the problem gamblers, who don't stop at the limits and end up losing much more than they should.

88  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Bitcoin soon returns to $25K - $30K on: July 18, 2022, 10:53:51 AM
History has proven that after a big drop people are scared and will wait for a positive signal. That positive signal is breaking a major resistance and going above that with a strong momentum.

The question is when and if this signal will appear

I do not believe that history necessarily has to repeat itself in this way. We could go from breaking, say $25K to $60K in a couple of months, but given the current situation I see that as unlikely. We know that Bitcoin is capable of rising very fast but as the price and market cap rises, the rate of rise should tend to slow down.
89  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Understanding Tax Implications on: July 17, 2022, 03:37:40 PM
Anybody please correct me if I'm wrong, but the moment you use your Bitcoin as payment for goods and services, it's as if you are already converting it.
Thus, it is, at least in the vast majority of countries, where Bitcoin transactions are taxed with capital gains tax.
Probably not the case in the vast majority of countries.

I do believe that it is so in most countries at least, because what happens is that in those countries that do not have an explicit, specific regulation for Bitcoin, is that if you buy something for 100 and sell it for 200 you get charged capital gains tax (I am ignoring minimum exemptions here for simplicity of argument). So even if they do not have a specific law for such assets, what is clear is that when you obtain a capital gain and make profits, your country is going to charge you, because capital gains already apply to a variety of things, such as stocks, funds, bonds, precious metals or real estate, so from a legal point of view it is easy to treat Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the same way.

90  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Duelbits Casino does not want to confirm my KYC - withdrawal not paid on: July 17, 2022, 01:09:46 PM
Sale2000 provided screenshots that suggest he cannot use his funds until his KYC verification and withdrawal have been approved. There are casinos that deliberately delay withdrawals so that the user will continue to gamble and possibly lose his money, but I don't think that's the case here.

Yeah, I don't think this is the case here either.

@sale2000, I think it is best to wait for an answer from the casino support and not to question them again about your case every day. I know it can be frustrating to wait for your money, but that is what you agreed to when you decided to use their casino.

I also agree with this, what happens is that six days seems to me an excessively long period of time for them to make a verification, nowadays in certain exchanges and fintechs they make almost instantaneous verifications.
91  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: STOCK MARKET on: July 17, 2022, 09:22:08 AM
The easiest way to make money in the stock market is to buy a fund indexed to the S&P 500 or a world fund. Normally people make contributions every week or month but if you have a lump sum to invest all at once you can also do it. You are much more likely to make money that way than picking individual stocks.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid loan apps, a word of advice. on: July 17, 2022, 07:39:34 AM
The loan app has the right to deduct the payment automatically if it was due already because it was written in loan ToS. She shouldn’t use that same payment method to pay her school fees if she knew that she has unpaid due loans. A debt is a debt and debtor don’t care about the borrower situation because it’s personal while loan app is a business and not a charity. There’s no way for a loan app to notify the person who apply to loan before they will deduct payment.

Probably because I used the same account for the loan repayment and to pay the fees. If he had used different accounts, he would have been able to pay the fees, but he would not have been able to avoid paying, because the loan app would have initiated a seizure procedure, which takes a while.
93  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: July 15, 2022, 11:04:03 AM
Can you define what you mean by Royse77 lied about the dinner and provide a link?

I believe he is referring to this:

He lied about going on a dinner date with the CEO in person
Even if that's true, it doubt it influenced someone's decision to deposit Bitcoin to the scam site.
94  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: July 15, 2022, 10:13:19 AM
Some people here are right about wanting to make a difference between honest and scam promoters, and rightly so tagging the scammer Royse777.

Seeing your trust, it doesn't seem to me that you are to give moral lessons to anyone.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Online Gambling be Banned? on: July 15, 2022, 07:25:46 AM
No for two reasons, firstly because I don't want to be restricted in my freedom to gamble if I want to and secondly because banning does not mean putting an end to gambling, it means moving it to the underworld where it is more dangerous for gamblers.

The best thing to do with gambling is to make it legal, well regulated and controlled.

People who have problems with gambling, which is often used as an argument to prohibit it, if gambling did not exist would have problems with something else, such as drugs or alcohol.
96  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Celcius Already File Bankcruptcy on: July 14, 2022, 03:07:52 PM
There's a lot of people now posting about suicide in there social media in relation with this Celsius collapse as expected. Celsius is licensed company which is the reason why noob investors will risk there life savings in there for a passive profit.

I just saw this article https://cryptobriefing.com/i-am-suicidal-celsius-customers-respond-to-firms-bankruptcy/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss  shared on our group in telegram. This is same when Terra UST collapse before.

That's why I say. And it doesn't just happen with cryptocurrencies. When a company goes bankrupt there are always those who had invested everything in that company, or even borrowed money to invest. Pathetic stories, as in the article you link, which refers to a reddit post: :

Quote
one user shared their troubles hours after Celsius posted its announcement. “I had all of my savings I’ve been building for 20 years in Celsius. I don’t know what to do. I have my 2nd child on the way and a mortgage to pay for…” the post read. “My wife has no idea. I am so scared on what to do. I am thinking of just ending it. It would be easier than suffering through this major loss. My whole life. Gone. I don’t know where to go or what to do.”

Another reddit post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CelsiusNetwork/comments/vyi07y/my_life_savings_are_lost_and_ive_managed_to_ruin/

My life savings are lost, and I've managed to ruin my life

About three months ago I deposited my life savings to Celsius in order to earn yield while waiting to find a nice apartment to buy for myself.

I've managed to lose it all. I've been working for this money since I was 16, now I've lost it all.

My life is ruined and I will never be the same person after this.

Some of these stories may be made up, but I'll bet most of them are true.
97  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Celcius Already File Bankcruptcy on: July 14, 2022, 10:06:53 AM
Imagine the pain by all the investors that using Celcius to store there life savings to earn passive income which turns to zero now. This sucks.

To store their life savings in one place and more like Celsius is pretty dumb but unfortunately when there is bankruptcy there are always stories of people claiming to have deposited their life savings there.

I guess many are blinded by the supposed profitability.
98  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Celcius Already File Bankcruptcy on: July 14, 2022, 08:40:20 AM
Well, in these cases it is not uncommon to see them deny the obvious until they can no longer hide it.

I think they don't care about investors. Having liabilities higher than assets, the assets will probably be liquidated at a bargain price, and the little that is taken out will be used to pay creditors, but those who had something invested there can take it for granted that they will lose at least a part and most likely lose a large part.

99  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 13, 2022, 05:15:26 PM
I had not the slightest idea that the ideas of casinos and games of chance were around for many years.

I did have an idea, as I have been curious about gambling. The OP has made a good summary but if you want more info you can google or Youtube. I particularly like the role mobsters played in the development of Las Vegas.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Saves my relatives both of Life, Time and money on: July 13, 2022, 05:10:08 PM
so he buy $1 million worth of bitcoin and back to his country Immediately

Wonderful story, but I think that it's just a fantasy. Things don't go that easy.

That's what I thought, the story already sounded incredible to me as I was reading it. It is one of the many stories that people make up in the forums.

In this case we are in a BTC forum, so a wonderful (and false) story about BTC.
