81  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My decision on bitcoin on: May 02, 2024, 12:02:40 PM
I recently created a post asking if I should buy bitcoin now or wait for the dip, and majority of the response I got from the post, advised that I should buy now rather than waiting for the dip due to its volatile nature, and I'm satisfied with this response and I'm willing to bear the risk.
Reason for all these questioning, I have a dream of becoming a long term bitcoin holder but, dreams aren't achieved with words alone, an action is needed for the start up, so I have decided to sell one of my less used phone for the purpose of buying bitcoin.
I'm really eager to purchase my first bitcoin in satoshi.

Of course you have made the right decision, but only invest as much money as you are prepared to lose. But nothing can improve in life without taking risks, but now Bitcoin is the best among the best suitable cryptocurrencies in the world today, you will benefit the most if you invest in this Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin has many positives since the ETF was approved in 2024, after this 2024 Harding, the bull market has started, and there is sure to be success if you invest in it now.
I don't agree with this statement now that I know better about Bitcoin. It is more or less fud in a soft tone. Who will deliberately invest his money to lose it? If I know I will lose my money in any investment, I will not call it investment and I will not be committed to such venture. I use the DCA method and do it consistently,  I won't spend all that time and money on something I know will disappear and all my money gone.

I'm not saying that there is no singe risk involved in Bitcoin but the truth remains that Bitcoin is not turning to zero for any reason so there is no way I will lose. From the available data about Bitcoin, the only time you lose money in Bitcoin is when you deliberately sell at a loss else holding it for a little longer will always lead to profits.

The right advice we should be giving people is to invest what they can afford to hold for a long time and not expect quick profits. If they come into Bitcoin with this mindset, they will not be in a hurry to sell and when price drops like we are experiencing now, they will be patient to wait it out.

82  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Hong Kong Bitcoin ETF Responsible for Recent Bear on: May 01, 2024, 09:24:33 AM
Bitcoin ETF was approved officially in Hong Kong and it's trading has already kick started as Bitcoin Spot ETF https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/spot-bitcoin-etfs-commence-trading-in-hong-kong

Let's dive back on the memory lane, Bitcoin spot ETF was approved by SEC in US and immediately this happens, the market plummet and thereafter we continue to experience a bull market till where we are today, could these recent bear be attributed to the bitcoin ETF approval in Hong Kong as part of the economic developments and incidence of flash news effect on bitcoin market price, we should never forget that we are still on the bull season despite all these.
Nice observation I must say because it might not just be a coincidence that market is dumping just after such a supposed positive news. In my humble opinion, the present dump is the least I expected from market now considering that Bitcoin halving just happened, following by Hong  Kong Bitcoin ETF approval and that of Australia on the pipeline.  What even the reason might be, I have the feeling the drop in price will not tarry. Its just to hold while we wait it out, after all  losses only happen when one sells.

This is really bad news. I know Lewandowski is currently Barca's mainstay, and maybe he has the highest salary. This season, I believe Lewandowski is the leading reason Barca loses. It's the matches without him and the times when his performance is down that Barca loses. Barca is depending on this striker too much. At the same time, Lewandowski's age and injury will prevent that. So why doesn't Barca sell him and recruit younger, healthier players?
Yep Lewandowski is second highest paid player in Barcelona and his contract will end in 2026, I think Xavi want to sell Lewandowski since it will make Barcelona have enough money to sign other players, but Xavi want to show if he's a good person, so he said he really need Lewandowski.

Last few months many people complaining if Lewandowksi can't perform anymore, but in this month he already prove them wrong!
I think the market value of Robert Lewandowski have drastically reduced because of his poor results at Barcelona. So Xavi banking on selling him to raise funds for Barcelona might seem like a wrong calculation. He has come of age and have played most of his active football already which makes it difficult for any competitive team to put him as a top priority. I even learnt that Barcelona is already making moves for Newcastle forward Alexander Isak who I think can comfortably fit into the roles of Robert Lewandowski. Although I seriously doubt that Newcastle will be willing to let him go considering the important role he is playing for the club and that money is not a problem for Newcastle.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 01, 2024, 04:03:51 AM
I have tried to figure out the most probable option to bet today's match between Bayern Munic and Real Madrid and neither of a direct win nor a draw look safe for me. One thing that keeps coming to my mind is that this will be a match of many goals because both teams will be trying to to score as many goals as possible in this first leg. So I have placed a single bet of over 3.5 goals with an odd of 2.60. This is a risky bet though so I have to bet with amount I'm comfortable with. I expect both teams to score in first half because it is their style and if that happens, the second half will definitely produce enough goals to see my bet through.
Both rivals are deserving of a place in the final and neither will give up without a fight, so you can bet on both teams scoring. Hopefully there will be plenty of goals today and the teams will give us some beautiful and productive football. My money is on both teams scoring and more than three goals in total.
Indeed both of us were right and it was a good win for me even though I did not place bit amount. Both scored as expected and the total goals were over 3.5 which gave me the win. I actually say the both team to score but the odd was too low for me to place a single bet; my target for single bet is usually 2+ odds so the win to loss ration will be at least 2:1 meaning one win can cover two losses.

Today's match between PSG and Borussia Dortmund is another key match that is not also easy to get a direct winner even though PSG seems to be the favorite. Going with option of over 3.5 goals seems good but I still have to give it proper thought before placing the bet.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm finding it difficult to login my metamask wallet I need help on: May 01, 2024, 03:59:03 AM
If you have the private keys of your wallets, just uninstall the metamask extension and install it again, then import your wallets afresh using their private keys. What you need to access is your wallets, so you should have saved their private keys properly.

Metamask do not have login but you will use the seed phrase to access it. Or am I wrong?
Metamask have login, when you install the extension, you will be required to chose a password. After you login, then you can either create new wallets or import an existing one using the private key.

86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 01, 2024, 03:00:41 AM
I was not expecting at all to see PSG lose points against Le Havre. Compared to a team like Le Havre, PSG has much better and more expensive players also they are playing in the Champions League and they are in the first place in the table. That's why I was predicting seeing them to win this match but sadly I was not right this time,
Le Havre was lucky this time because of getting this one point against a team like PSG. However, I think PSG was trying to save the potential for the next game they have against Dortmund in the Champions League. Otherwise, they could have a much better performance in this match.
PSG failing to win Le Havre shouldn't come to you as a surprise because they were at a point that require strategy to navigate through. Understanding that they had already won the French League 1 even though there were still some matches remaining, their main focus was the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund so they had to save their best for that match. On the other hand, Le Havre are also fighting to stay out of relegation so they had to give the match some seriousness that made then took the lead from first half.

PSG were indeed lucky to have gotten a draw because when the match was 1:3 against them and into the 2nd half, everyone thought they had already lost the match. They were able to get 2 goals and made the match a draw and that is something commendable.
87  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Top 9 Campaign Managers of 2024..... on: April 30, 2024, 08:32:54 PM
I'm curious on how did you find the gender of the managers, or did they mentioned it? It's something i'm not interested knowing, but since you describe them by that, i might just ask as well.
The assumption that there are more males in this forum male people assume everyone here is male. Besides,  most of the females have identified themselves as one and I have not seen any of the listed members identify themselves as females unless I missed that.

You should have put the names in alphabetical order, OP, otherwise it is understood that you put them in order of importance, which is consistent with Hhampuz being number 1 (by total number of campaigns and weeks of duration managed on Bitcointalk to date).

So, even though it was probably not your intention, maybe some of them don't like the way you have put the list together.
When I saw the post, that was the first thing that cut my attention... but seeing Icopress at the 9th position convinced me he did not make the post with any form of rating in mind. Reading the post over again, it became obvious he said practically the same thing for all the managers. Alphabetical order would have been the best way to arrange them since he has no intention of rating them.

89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football/Soccer Winning Strategy on: April 30, 2024, 05:58:43 PM
It worked for some time that I turned my $5 to $40 in 2 days of betting. This is just a test of it as I learn this from someone as well. He didn't teach me the entire strategy but just gave me a hint on how to do it.  So maybe if you can improve this sports betting strategy, you may as well contribute to this evolution.
This is 800% profit, a very enticing one if you ask me. I guess it is very aggressive to be able to achieve this result in 2 days. Well, if it works for you keep at it but be careful to manage your risk properly and don't get too over confident before you put more money than you are supposed to. There was a system I was playing before which was over 0.5 goals HT, this worked so well to an extent but the moment I increased the amount I was betting with, things turned for bad thereby forcing me to abandon that system.

So what I did is apply this same strategy on Soccer as well. Remember to do this on live matches.
So when you see game 1-0 and the team that score 1 has the odds of 1.30, I guess this is a good bet already. Just add another of these live games for your multibet and hope to win. Also, make sure it's already 2nd half.

Note: Not Guaranteed But Worth Trying.
Live bet is very risky and I have a hard time coping with it. Betting on 1-0 match is still a risky bet and adding it more games even increases the risk because there is possibility of equalizer. Unless maybe the favorite team is leading in that second half and under such condition, the odd may not be up to 1.30.

91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly I'm curious, do I need to pay taxes on Bitcoin income? on: April 30, 2024, 03:47:37 PM
It depends on your country because it is not every country that taxes crypto income. In my country for instance, there is no tax on crypto income and the only money we pay is stamp duty which is compulsory for every credit that any account receives irrespective of the source of the fund.

If there is crypto tax law in your country, by all means try and pay because tax evasion is a very serious offence and bailable in most countries. Unless you are prepared to face the wrath of the law, you can refrain from paying your crypto income taxes.

92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online/crypto casinos the most profitable digital business? on: April 29, 2024, 06:57:05 AM
It is practically difficult to know which which digital business is most profitable as most of those business does not post their financial reports online but I'm sure casinos are not the most profitable. They take a lot of risk and can even run at loss unlike some digital business that the risk is less while the profit is high.

Like few people have already suggested, I think crypto exchanges make more profits than casinos. There are many ways they earn money such as listing fees, IEO, trading fees,  withdrawal fees and others I may not know. So, exchanges should be among the most profitable as it just take them building the reputation and customer base then every other thing will be profits.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 28, 2024, 04:58:06 PM
I'm not seeing any spectacular about Manchester City performance today, they are playing as if they are fatigued. If they continue this way, Nottingham Forest will get an equalizer and put them in tight corner as regards the trophy. Now I see why the bookies gave the match over 2.5 goal as big as 1.56 odds whereas Bournemouth against Brighton the same option was given 1.44 odds. I guess I fell for trap of thinking that Manchester City will score many goals today, the reason I played them on goals. If Manchester City cannot score more goals then it will be my please to see Nottingham Forest score to make the league interesting.
94  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 28, 2024, 03:06:42 PM
Well even if loan, loans are of different capacity, loan to be put into BTC can't be more than you can pay because even your monthly earnings into BTC have to be at certain low % so you can carry-on daily... Taking loan within amount that pay back would not be a kind of adverse threat on your daily living can do(calculated loan+risk) .. Knowing very well that BTC is just abit glorious than football bettings...
I will not support borrowing to invest in Bitcoin. The chances of it ending in trouble is high because loan have duration to pay back which you are not sure that Bitcoin will be able to have risen for you to sell and pay. Besides, buying Bitcoin with borrowed funds will steal the peace of mind that is needed to hold the investment for long term which is highly recommended for investment in Bitcoin.

It is very difficult for an ordinary individual to borrow funds whose tenor is 5-10 years, the benchmark for Bitcoin investment. The best I have seen for individuals is 3 years tenor and this is even through government intervention programs. Borrowing to invest in Bitcoin is under 3 years duration is somehow a short term duration that might not be ideal for long term investment.

It is better for the individual investor to start with what he has and possibly apply the DCA method if such amount is not what he targets as total sum to invest in Bitcoin.  As time progresses, he would have been able to get inflow from other means, part of which he can continue adding into the DCA program.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 28, 2024, 12:40:29 PM
Seems there was a consensus by PSG and Borussia Dortmund to hide their playing skills this weekend, the reason PSG nearly lost to an unexpected team like Le Havre and Borussia Dortmund suffered the humiliating defeat from RB Leipzig. May pundits gave PSG express win over Le Havre and expected Borussia Dortmund to at least get a draw from Leipzig, maybe these predictions were made ignoring the fact that they will be reserving players. But I'm quite disappointed at PSG for being unable to win a match due to the absence of a single major player Kylan Mbappe. Well, those are the things that makes it gambling. I expect their champions league match to be a very tough one because they are both prepared from what I have seen so far.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: April 27, 2024, 06:49:42 PM
I don't see any reason to see Paris Saint Germain losing this match. Even though they did not field their main players, they still have better quality than the main squad that Le Havre has. It would be very disappointing if they had to lose to a club that is in the relegation zone with their consecutive defeats.
It seems it is only Kylan Mbappe that is not playing tonight, at least among the key players. I checked the lineup and I noticed Dembele is there as well as Hakimi. Without two players, they are actually playing their first team of which they ought to deliver.

Are they just going to let Le Havre embarrass them at home? I don't see that as making sense.
I agree with you on this because at the level of PSG, every win is important to them if not for anything, for the records. The coach also need the wins for his career, even the players. They will play the match competitively and with the squad I'm seeing, they will win the match easily.

97  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Check twice before sending transaction if it will impact your privacy negatively on: April 27, 2024, 05:22:24 PM
Before taking the decision to make a particular transaction, the issue of privacy would have already been decided. At the point of sending transaction, what is most checked is the receiving address, the amount being sent and every other necessary details bearing in mind that when the transaction is sent, funds cannot be reversed upon network confirmation.

I wouldn't want us to dwell so much on the issue of privacy as far as Bitcoin is concerned because it is just a matter of time before privacy is completely defeated, the process is in top gear so we have to make the necessary adjustments.
98  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: April 27, 2024, 04:04:35 PM
so my brother, knowledge is key, even in this crypto space.

Hopefully you are not fucking around with shitcoins or considering that there is some kind of value in studying them prior to making sure you understand what you are doing in regards to bitcoin... anyhow talking about "crypto" makes you sound like a distracted shitcoin who does not know how to properly talk about bitcoin or to figure out your focus, because if you feel some kind of need to talk about shitcoins while we are talking about bitcoin, then there should be some kind of a context to that rather than using dumbass-vague terms to refer to bitcoin as if it were part of some shitcoin space, and you don't even say, you just lump it in as if you are trying to sound smart by saying crypto rather than bitcoin, if you might have been wanting to talk about bitcoin.
Whenever your hear about the emphasis on knowledge,  look closely and you will see a supposed expert analyst who knows the perfect shitcoin to buy and the perfect entry and exit strategy but at the end, it usually end in tears. You will never hear a long term Bitcoin invest stress this knowledge of a thing because there is practically no need for that.

I have noticed that most Bitcoin investor spend more energy learning about how to secure and preserve their assets, than worrying about entry point... with key interest in wallets, privacy and knowledge about latest innovations in Bitcoin.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 27, 2024, 03:04:36 PM
And today Juventus will face Milan. I think this match will be very difficult for Juventus. Considering their poor performance, it will definitely be very difficult to keep up with Milan in this match. Because currently Milan can be said to be much better than Juventus. The reason is that in their last 5 matches in Serie A, Milan was able to win 3 times, draw 1 time and lose 1 time. Meanwhile, Juventus in their last 5 matches in Serie A was only able to win 1, draw 3 and lose 1. So it is clear that Milan is indeed better than Juventus if seen and assessed from that point of view. So in this match, AC Milan will most likely have a bigger chance of winning.

The best match of the day in Italy will undoubtedly be Juventus vs Milan. Juventus started the season well but have performed poorly in recent weeks. Milan started the season badly but have performed well in recent weeks. Juventus were Inter's rivals for the league title for a long time. Then they lost the leadership race. They will probably lose the race for second place now. Actually, it is hard to predict which team will win this match. Both teams are good. Both teams have talented players who can change the game at any moment. In matches like this, I bet on both teams to score. I feel more confident when I do that.
In the days of sweet Italian football, this is usually a match many people all over the world look up to. As a kid, there are few matches that generate the kind of noise that their meeting does... the encounter is in the same level as El Clasico, UEFA champions league final and of course world cup final. Unfortunately,  Italian football have nosedive and the passion dissipated.

Nevertheless, it will be a sweet match that may not produce any winner. Both teams are of equal strength and have similar history, so they might settle for a draw. Normal prediction will give AC Milan to win despite playing away, but Juventus will not allow them.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 27, 2024, 01:19:46 PM
The setup today seems cool for gamblers like me that play the option of both teams score or over 2.5 goals. We have two matches that will surely deliver with a nice combined odd for heavy stake. Those two matches are Bayern Munic vs Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund. Each of these two matches will end in many goals or at least both teams will score, the reason I consider my option as a safe bet.

Borussia Dortmund might lose today because they have a pretty bad record playing RB Leipzig but they will have to score even if they lose. But it will not be surprising if they are able to hold Leipzig to a draw because they need all the motivation they can get in order to help them psychologically in their Champions league match against PSG.
