IOCoin current blockchain and bootstrap available at CryptoChainer.com

Hey guys,

Nice to have a bootstrap available, but to be clear to our I/O Coin community: this is not an endorsed Bootstrap by the I/O Coin team.
We will deliver a bootstrap with our next release.

regards
Richard

Thanks for the info. I am already synced btw and ready to add some IO to my brand new wallet. Prices are dirt cheap for a coin with such amazing features. Eventually, the people will realize its true potential, and thus increase demand for IOCoin. By the way, is there an android wallet for IOCoin or has not been thought of yet?  Smiley

We have a wallet but is currently under maintenance

I/O Coin HTML5 March 4th 2016 Release Version 1.1.7

This is a Beta release of our current HTML5 wallet version 1.1.7. You can now stake the wallet while keeping it locked. Just click on the staking icon and input passphrase to stake. If this is a first install you must create a passphrase under settings. This wallet is mainly released for OSX 64 bit El Capitan users experiencing QT wallet issues. The wallet is still under testing so make sure to backup your .dat before installing the wallet. Please report any bugs you may find to iocoindev@gmail.com

This is for medium to advanced users to test. Thanks

This wallet beta has been removed----------Bug was found

These name space can be implemented in principle in any way since the data storage is essentially unrestricted, all we would need to consider is the parsing and recognition of domain names e.g. found by search in for example a special side chain.

In essence, the underlying data is unrestricted and can even be a binary file, so we're completely free to model domain names on data strings of text. A data block cooed right now, consist of for example, a json block of text, which contains both the domain name and the A record, it's very flexible that way and any zone data can be stored.  We had this working in the back end as of last year, in any case we would need to bring the wallet up to make use of these functions and we're there ;-)

For now we are focusing on getting the basic api calls of DIONS coded into the wallet for the release of V.1 once we reach this milestone we will have subsequential upgrades.

Thanks

Development Update February 13th 2016

This week we made some progress with initial testing of the basic name creation calls via the wallet front end. We encountered various issues including responsiveness in the wallet front end but they were related to some minor issues in the back end. We will continue on with getting the basic name calls (Dions) working and proceed next week to the messaging related api calls. For now we are just making it as simple as possible so we can test end to end.  These are just simple text fields so we can enter some test data, in text form for now.  Once it's working, we will add file upload for adding base 64 encoded binary data to the name data, which will give us modest file storage capabilities for V.1. Overall we are making good progress.

Thanks Everyone

Hello Community......

We started to work on the implementation of the api codes into the wallet and build of the environment. We ran into some build errors with
regards to the Dions wallet prototype on OSX. After some debugging we decided to build a server to set up gitlab & gitian, as we are sure it was a compiler problem but with gitlab & gitian it will add continuous integration and help us make our builds automatically from now on. In the meantime we switched to linux as my main dev platform just until the prototype progresses reasonably. After that will take care of windows and OSX testing of the Dions V.1 wallet prototype, with the integrated api calls. Once we get the first few calls in the wallet, then things should progress faster.

Development Update January 23rd 2015

A consensus was reached by Pat and Derek. Derek has started to code the final api code (in a private Bitbucket account) to the DIONS Wallet. Once he is done, Pat will clean up the code and Ophie will finish the front end design. As soon as the html5 wallet with DIONS is ready for testnet, we will update the community.

January 8th 2016 DEV UPDATE

Hello Everyone,

Since we started to work on DIONS, we kept everything in a private repo. This is the reason why our original I/O Coin repo is not showing any commits to the code. Due to possible jacking of the code, The team instead chose to commit to a private repo. Below you will find screenshots of our private github and our commits. Not all commits will be shown below, as we also worked on a Bitbucket account. That's where Derek made all the commits to DIONS, which we then moved over to github, when the code was completed. We wanted to share these images with the community, to show all the months of development that we have given to DIONS and the new wallet. We wanted to share this with you all, because we recognize that DIONS has taken longer to release than previously anticipated,  but is not for lack of work.

Our last code commit to github was November 16th 2015. That was our last commit of last year, but that's because we have been testing and working on code changes to the api outside of github.  This past week we worked on some more changes to the latest api proposition from Pat and today we made our latest commit to our repo. This commit is for consideration of our (DIONS) lead dev Derek. It contains the latest propositions from pat to complete the wallet and now we are awaiting on Derek's review. Once Derek is done with his review he will determine if Pat's request for new api calls are called for or not. If so Derek will have to make some new changes to the code and send an updated api back to Pat for implementation on the wallet. If it all goes smoothly then we set up testnet again to test that everything is working before our release.

Lastly we have one more dev opening that we are looking to fill and we continue to interview candidates for the position. As always, we would like to thank everyone that's following our project. We will give another update once we get more info..

ps. We are showing 1 of 4 pages of history because we didn't want to flood the ann thread with images.

Thanks Everyone

January 13th 2016 Follow Up - DEV UPDATE

Derek has reached a consensus to streamline the final api calls to DIONS. Derek will be working on defining blocks of functionality in terms of packaged up calls to his api and how Pat can interpret this so that we can finally get the full implementation in the wallet. Derek will be writing a final proposal as clearly as possible so that we can all proceed with Pat on the final stages of the DIONS api implementation.

We will update again once we make the first commits on github,

Thanks Everyone

Over the Next few months we are going to be asking our community to please stake your coins as much as possible. We want to run some test on the blockchain and need as many wallet's online as possible. We need them to be staking to test transfers and confirmation times. This is very important as we are running these tests to improve certain things in DIONS.

If you don't want to stake your entire stash you can cold storage most of your coins and stake a smaller amount.

PS. To our OSX users we are currently working on new QT wallet for El Capitan. Our current QT seems to be a bit unstable under 10.10.5 As soon as we have it compiled we will update. This will be temporary until we release the new DIONS wallet

Thanks

oK folks, All is good now, IONS is UP and address book is up and also good now. The address book on the HTML5 wallet does a query to ions, in order to sync your aliases. This is why we are upgrading to DIONS, which will be fully decentralized.

Thank you

Hello Everyone,

We are seeing a small bug to our current html5 wallet address book affecting both windows 10 and OSX. The team is on it for a solution to this issue. IONS is also down for maintenance. We will come back with an update once we have this issues resolved.

Thanks

Hello Everyone just a quick update of what we have been working on. Wallet work continues as usual. Wallet opens, syncs, backups, imports, sends and receives so all that is good as of now. Some minor bugs are still being worked but over all we continue to make progress. To help us speed up the delivery of Dions, we have added another dev to the team. His core work will be to implement proposed changes to the code to facilitate better implementation of the overall messaging and dion's code to the wallet.

On a side note we are also making a staking improvement. Currently wallet addresses are being split into multiple change in an unlimited way while staking. Some people are noticing their QT wallets going into not responding due to the staking address change behaviours. We are currently considering a cap so that wallets are not bug down by unlimted change addresses. We are also looking into an increase in the number of coins that get combined in staking wallet by defaults and/or an increase in the age when stakes get split.

More info to come so stay tuned.

What else can we say, we are working. New Wallet, New unvisited territory.
The New  I/O Coin HTML5 Wallet powered by the I/O Digital Blockchain with DIONS.
Testnet Time coming Soon, We continue to work and perfect our chain. Next Week a new Development Update for now enjoy today's wallet teaser...

Took me a Long Time, but finally got through all the IO Developer TEams posts.  THings Look promosing and it is clear to see they are in for the long HAul.

I have a questION about the New Wallet.

IF it is not a Web Wallet  (took me a LIttle time to Figure out what a web waLLEt is)

How come it has a web page (bittrex) within the wallet?   How can a wallet show a website if it is not a browser?
Is it poSSible to Display a website site, without actually using a browser? Maybe though the API keys or SOMething like how Trading BOts operate??

The wallet has an embedded browser.

No, it's not possible. We do use Chromium which is embedded in the wallet, the external webpages are run in a separate process that is sandboxed from the rest of the wallet so there's no chance of a security violation.

To reiterate, the wallet has been developed from the ground up, it is not running on top of the bitcoin core Qt, it's also not an HD wallet. The  .dat is needed to access your coins. Users will have to download the blockchain and will have the ability to import their .dat. A bootstrap will be available for faster initial sync. The wallet will also include a debug console for more advance users and to have access to the Private keys, GetInfo,  etc. This will be the first V.1 version to release with DIONS. More updates will come along the way as we move into Chameleon.

Thanks

I/O COIN DEV UPDATE September 28th 2014

Hello everyone just a quick dev update. Wallet work continues with implementation of the buy I/O Coin section, users will be able to trade inside the wallet in your preferred exchange. We had a successful osx daemon compile and we are now making tweaks to our osx wallet. This coming week we are drawing up specs for our testnet environment to test our new HTML5 wallet with our new DIONS blockchain. Sam is now awaiting on specs from Derek to create our virtual environment. We are also still debating on changes to the pgp messaging api trying to come up with a more user friendly approach in the front end. Overall we are looking really good..

We will update again once we go into live testnet, after this final testing stage we will announce a release date.

Cheers Everyone

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE AUGUST 24th, 2015

Greetings Everyone!

Me and Ophie have been hard at work finishing the new and improved wallet. Given the drastic changes we wanted to make we decided early on that it would be best to rewrite the wallet from the ground up, and what a difference it has made! The new RPC backend is a work of art (if I do say myself... Wink ) and the GUI layer is extremely clean thanks to Mithril.js, a reactive framework that we're piloting with this project.

We just completed the tenth week of development and Joel notified me that the community wants us to be more open about what we're doing, so from now on we will try to write a new wallet update every week until release!

This week, among other work, I overhauled the loading system. One of the goals with the new wallet is to allow our users to have multiple I/O Coin wallets at the same time, and to be able to load them as easily as you would load a project in any other piece of software. I've included a sneak peek of our new splash screen that enables this.

Have a great week I/O Community!

Sincerely,
St. Patty

We just got our first DIONS daemon to build successfully. The HTML5 wallet splash screen is also done. This build allows our wallet team, to continue coding and test wallet functionalities on top of the daemon. We are now in the final stages of our DIONS Development.

Thanks
